Choosing Perona Farms as our wedding venue was hands down the best decision that we could have made when it came to finding a space to celebrate our wedding. Every vendor we spoke to along the way afterwards had nothing but glowing things to say about them. Every question that I could have come up with they already had the answer to, before I even had an opportunity to ask it - they run their establishment like a well oiled machine. We knew that we were in good hands having picked Perona as our wedding venue, which in and of itself alleviated so many stressors. Marley was exceptional to work with, both professional and incredibly accommodating to all of our requests. We got married in the barn 10.31.25 and the space itself is just gorgeous and stunning on its own, requiring very minimal decoration. The staff at Perona are warm & welcoming and truly treat their couples so well. Most importantly for us, not only did we want a beautiful, rustic space but we also wanted delicious food. So many of our guests after the wedding have raved about how great the food was. On the day of the wedding we ran into an unexpected hiccup where the buses with our guests were stuck in traffic and our ceremony was delayed by about 45 minutes. Kelly (a literal angel) was able to help reorganize a few things and despite not starting on time, our guests were still able to enjoy a full cocktail hour and had plenty of time for dancing throughout the evening. They were fabulous to work with, great communicaiton with all contacts and the day of event went off beautifully. I attended another wedding here and the reception was inside this time. It was very spacious, and the cocktail hour also extended to the outdoor patio. A lot of the same food I had previously was present at the cocktail hour, but there were some additions I tried such as sushi, sliders, and pesto gnocchi. There had to be about 20 or so different types of sushi rolls. It was an excellent cocktail hour. The first course was a Jersey girl burrata with heirloom tomato, and basil. This was excellent. The burrata was creamy and the tomato was very fresh. The salad consisted of greens, shaved root vegetables, and fresh herbs with a white balsamic dressing. Again, this seemed extremely fresh. There was just enough dressing on my particular dish. For the main course, it was a duet plate that contained chateaubriand of beef with a black garlic rosemary reduction and pistachio crusted salmon with lemon butter sauce. There was also a side of caramelized garlic mashed potatoes and a vegetable medley. The beef was cooked to a perfect rare temperature with plenty of flavor. The black garlic was very powerful, but not too over powerful where it was a problem. The salmon was a little dry, but the pistachio crusted helped a little bit. I chose this venue to have my sisters bridal shower. We reserved the reserve room and had access to the outside courtyard as well. This place is absolutely gorgeous! The grounds are amazing and well maintained. Kellen helped with the planning process and ensured we had everything set up that was discussed, she was very responsive. Our matradee Kelly was an absolute delight! Anything we asked for she was able to provide. Including placing fresh flowers on the cake. The room was set to perfection. The food was also delicious! It was a brunch buffet that included fresh baked bread, chopped garden salad, bowl of grains, braised short ribs, chicken cacciatore, asparagus, fingerling potatoes, penne w/vodka sauce, eggs Benedict with spinach, fresh waffles with blue berry compote and fresh cream, a charcuterie board with fresh fruits with meats, cheeses, nuts. We added on the mimosa bar and had mimosas at the table. Tea, coffee, juices, sodas, were also included. They have the best chai and earl grey lavender tea. The cake was also very delicious and included in the price. It was a vanilla cake with strawberries and cream. The cost for the brunch was $48 per person plus a 22% service charge, NJ state tax, and gratuity. The mimosa bar was $8 per person. Minimum guest count is 30 adults. My fiancé and I came here on a Sunday both to check out the brunch and to take a look at the venue for our wedding. We started out with the brunch; I made reservations well in advance and we were seated right away. I highly recommend making a reservation, it gets pretty busy. The brunch is a little overwhelming just because of the sheer choice and the disappointment of not being able to try it all (not enough space in my stomach unfortunately). It's a pretty traditional American buffet-style brunch. I wasn't blown away but the food but that is to be expected when a place is cooking in such huge quantities. My favorite item was definitely the fresh-made apple cider donut. Their cocktail sauce for the shrimp was also one of the best I've ever had. As far as the venue is concerned, it's gorgeous. The Barn looks exactly like what it looks like in photos. It photographs so well and really effortlessly at that. I also liked that their wedding packages are pretty inclusive so that you don't have to worry about too much DIY on your big day; seems like they cover a lot of it for you. Nowadays, I feel like everyone is getting married in a barn. I can't blame them for it! The whole rustic Pinterest vibe is chic and adorable, and makes for a stunning wedding backdrop. Perona Farms has two different options for wedding. You can have your reception in their standard indoor ballroom, or opt to have your wedding in the actual barn. After seeing both areas, I'm really glad that the wedding was in the barn, which was way more picturesque. The barn has got two levels. Downstairs for the cocktail hour, and upstairs for the actual reception. The cocktail hour area is Pinterest on Pinterest. Chalkboards to write the bride and grooms name, long wooden benches and light up signs that say LOVE. It's a big open air area, and is perfect for mingling with some food and a drink in hand. There is also an adjacent outdoor area with a fire pit! Now, onto the reception area. Hot dangggggg. It's gorg up there. High arched ceilings, dim purple lighting, and long ornately decorated tables for guests. There is an area in the back to mingle by the bar and a dance floor area in the front by the DJ booth. My one complaint is that the dance floor is kind of small, but it's well worth the sacrifice to get the stunning room. Perona also has on premise catering and the food is really yum! Loved the feta watermelon salad and the fresh smoked sausages at the cocktail hour, and for our main we had dijon salmon and prime rib. I ate here 6 plus years ago for Mother's Day. $50-$60+ a head is a lot of money but worth it for a good buffet. I almost went up to the owner to ask him for my money back and just leave. The buffet consisted of all frozen crap from Restaurant Depot. How would I know? If your in the food business you can tell frozen, pre-packaged stuff vs fresh. And the seafood smelled of unfrozen seafood with that smell of seafood. You know I made the mistake of having just two oysters. Well that was a bad move. I was sick for 3 days. And not just a little sick- bad. I had food poisoning before and this sure felt like it. To be transparent-- I did not follow up with the restaurant. Why? 1. What would they do? 2. I didn't feel like arguing. I have never been back nor would suggest going here. I can't believe the fool the amount of people they do with this buffet style food. At the price per plate they charge, the food should be at least a solid B+. This wasn't even as fresh as some of those $9.99 Buffett places. If I remember correctly the bread was the only thing warmed up nicely enough to hide the fact it was frozen. It's been 5-6 years maybe things have changed but I would not go back unless maybe after Covaid I was offered a free buffet meal for two. read more

We have attended many events at Perona Farms over the years and arranged to hold our 25th wedding anniversary there. Perona Farms has a well-deserved reputation for excellent food and service. This time we were there for a fundraising banquet. The food was delicious but the portions were very small. We actually stopped on our way home to grab a bite to eat. Because I injured my leg a few weeks ago, I was using a walker to get around. I discovered that there was no handicapped-accessible stall in the ladies' room. Because the commode was very low and there was no grab rail on the wall, getting up was very difficult. It was only after my second trip to the ladies' room that I noticed a handicapped-accessible restroom across the lobby, beside the kitchen entrance. This needs to be corrected or a sign needs to be posted on the restroom door indicating the location of the handicapped-accessible restroom. One other thing, and this was the most troublesome: The acoustics in the banquet room were awful. It was nearly impossible to converse with anyone at the table. Something needs to be installed in the room to absorb sound, perhaps acoustic ceiling tiles or carpeting. Again, Perona Farms is otherwise an excellent venue, but some changes need to be made for a superior rating. read more

Went for Sunday brunch, first seating. They were a bit understaffed so we'll have to give service 3 stars which is a shame because if they were well staffed it could have been a better experience. Brunch options are good, everything from Waffles to a raw bar to crepes to eggs Benny. Bloody Mary bar is a nice touch and the fresh juices (we got carrot strawberry) was delicious. You were not rushed, and the large room provides enough space that you weren't cramped in on. My boyfriend treated me to an all-you-can-eat brunch here for my birthday weekend, and he really outdid himself! The brunch is on Sundays from 10:30am - 3pm (last seating is at 1:30 pm) at the price of $31.95 per person or $9.95 for children under 12. Dressy casual attire. It was absolutely delicious and featured a wide selection of food for even the pickiest of eaters, including but definitely not limited to: -Fresh seafood bar featuring oysters, clams, and shrimp cocktail: When they say fresh, they really mean fresh! I feel like they were just delivered from a fisherman a minute before I helped myself to them. The oysters were definitely my favorite. -Carving station featuring prime rib of beef with au jus and smoked salmon: Smoked salmon was fresh but nothing special, but the prime rib...yum! It was so juicy and so tender that it cut like butter. I honestly didn't even need to add the au jus, but I did and it was a great addition. -Made to order Belgian waffles and crepes: You can indulge and top your waffles with M&Ms, chopped oreos, ice cream (they have a great selection!), sprinkles, and more OR you can go the healthier route and top your waffles with chopped strawberries and Reddi-wip. They also make Nutella crepes. Need I say more?! -A beautiful ice sculpture surrounded by fresh fruits -Chocolate fondue with sliced fruit, marshmallows, etc.: You can even choose from dark, milk, and white chocolates to dip into! 99% of the buffet was a hit for me, but the two misses of my meal were the wild rice and the crème brulee. The wild rice was cold and had a strangely hard texture, and the crème brulee had no flavor to it whatsoever. Everything else was fantastic! Karen was our server, and she was wonderful. She was so nice and checked on us frequently without being overbearing. We wanted to ask for a tour after brunch because I've seen beautiful pictures of the event venue/barn area on Yelp, but there was a wedding taking place in the barn so we decided to hold off on the tour until we come back (which we definitely will). It doesn't matter if the wedding is at the Reserve or the Barn, we always have such an amazing time. There is so much to photograph on the property including the houses, cottages, orchard, tall trees or bridge. Even though we are there a lot, every wedding is different but Perona's consistency is the one thing we must rave about. Their staff is on top of everything and most important, their food is AMAZING. We booked the Reserve back in fall 2018 right after we were engaged. The moment we saw it we fell in love. It's been a long road to our big celebration and net-net is that we 100% made the right decision on our venue. The Reserve is PERFECT for anyone looking for an updated, "rustic-chic" type of venue. After the additions and modifications Perona made during COVID, it was even better than when we originally booked it 3 years ago. The new ceremony space is STUNNING with both an "indoors" and outdoors option in the same space. It's truly amazing and needs minimal décor/florals to make it feel decorated. The cocktail hour space was also amazing with TONS of room for our guests to be indoors or outdoors and have whatever experience they were looking for. The food was UNBELIEVABLE. Our only regret for the day of the wedding is that we didn't get to eat enough. We loved that they brought us into the bridal suite right after the ceremony and gave us a "taster" of all the cocktail hour foods. We sat there for a good 15 minutes in silence LOVING everything. Our guests also loved the food and were raving about it. Perona was really easy to work with as far as modifications. We didn't have many changes, but wanted to add a specialty food station which they were happy to do. The Reserve reception room is AMAZING. It's big, beautiful, and cozy. We loved the wooden tables, the wood floors, the stone touches, etc. I went a bit crazy with décor, but you really don't need much to dress up the space. We had a 9 piece band and 165 guests and the room fit us perfectly. We definitely could have even fit more if we needed to! We didn't hear any complaints around waits at the bars or anything so assuming that it was smooth. Perona worked with us on our signature drinks and everyone loved them. Our coordinator day of, Kim, decorated the space exactly how I wanted down to every single detail. She was also great at keeping the day moving and ensuring we had everything we needed. Ivette was our Sr. Event Coordinator and we worked with her from the moment we booked in 2018 through until our wedding day. She was always responsive, understanding, and willing to help with anything we needed. The Perona client portal was lifechanging and so helpful when it came out and I would imagine eliminated a lot of the questions Ivette and team were probably getting. I do want to have one quick call out to our experience working with Perona during COVID. We originally had our date for 10/9/2020 and had realized by July 2020 that we were not going to be able to have the wedding we wanted and were looking for options to move it. We had reached out to Perona and were told there weren't many options at the time and needed to wait until 8 weeks before our date to make decisions. We were really frustrated with this because it was so close to the wedding date and we really needed to let vendors know, send change the dates, etc. There were many phone calls with Perona where I was in tears/yelling etc. and it wasn't met with much compassion. We at one point were looking to cancel and were told if we wanted to cancel we wouldn't get any of our money back that we had paid already which was several thousands of dollars. When the 8 weeks came about, we were offered the Friday we ended up taking (10/22/21) or Halloween Sunday... luckily, all of our vendors were open for the new date so we decided to move forward. Biggest learning - make sure you have some sort of cancelation clause etc. in your contract with them... it was really frustrating working with them before the 8 weeks timeline... Overall, The Reserve at Perona Farms is BEAUTIFUL, stunning, wonderful, and we highly recommend it. The food is fantastic and plentiful, the space is just gorgeous, and overall they were relatively great to work with (outside of the COVID fiasco...). read more

What can I say about this place that hasn't already been said? Oh, I guess everything as there is only 1 other review for it. My friends got married here. It is a very nice facility. The ceremony was held outside under the gazebo and after that we moved to a courtyard area for the cocktail hour. The food at the cocktail hour was pretty amazing. They had a Jersey Fresh table which had various vegetables and breads along with Flying Fish beers. The most important part of this table was the man pan searing the scallops. I camped out here and I think I ended having about 40 of these little suckers. There might have been scallops coming out of my ears at one point, but that is information you probably didn't need. The rest of the reception was wonderful as well. The room was a nice size, but not too big. The DJ had the room moving and the music was mixed up nicely. Happy about that. My friend is a fan of contemporary country music. Not my cup of tea, but that is Ok. I don't recall them playing much. Bon Jovi was played though. Welcome back to NJ. Came here to meet my mom for birthday brunch and was not at all impressed. The room was loud and crowded. The table we were seated at was too close to the wait staff area and they kept bumping into my chair. The buffet options were not as extensive as other higher end buffets I have been to (The Manor, ect.). I sampled the eggs benedict, steak and béarnaise sauce concoction and thought the eggs were over cooked and the sauce rather flavorless. The breakfast potatoes were bland and unimpressive. The smoked salmon was handed out stingily and was not the best I have tasted. The wife could not find much of anything as their were few lunch-type options with only one pasta, some unappealing flatbreads and a roast. On a positive the bacon was good (hard to screw up bacon) and the oysters were large and fresh and had a decent mignonette sauce. One other thing that rubbed me the wrong way, they had me remove my fedora in the dining area but then I watched as some jackass in a smiley face ball cap was seated at the next table and the one next to them had two slobs; one in a Under Armor shirt and his wife wearing a pink track suit. There's a juice bar also. Tons of food. Seafood section with shrimp & oyster. Cheeseboard & salted meats section. Mediterranean section with grape leaves & pita. Soups & salads. Omelette station. Pancake station. List goes on and on... I tried to have a bite of everything but the physics of my stomach size said no. The favorite, of course, was the smoked salmon. Topped with egg bits, onions and capers. Delish. Also buffet means I can keep going back for seconds and thirds without feeling guilty =) I also loved their freshly crisped donuts, their orzo salad, and their mushroom crepes. My best friends had their wedding here Saturday. The grounds were snow covered so I can't comment on that but what I did get to see was really beautiful and different from other weddings. The wedding reception was held downstairs in the barn area. It was decorated beautifully to give that rustic feel. Once the wedding reception was over it was time for the cocktail hour. The hors d'oeuvres stations were set up to the side leaving plenty of seating and standing tables. They had flat bread pizzas, fresh smoked salmon, shrimp cocktail, pasta stations, cheese boards, and different cured meats. There was open bar where they featured the couples favorite drink Jack and ginger ale. The groom requested for the staff to light a fire in the back area which was really nice for us smokers. Would of been nice to have some chairs set up out there. After the cocktail party we were brought upstairs for dinner. The moment you get a look at the room it is stunning. The place was lit up in purple lights and really added a special effect to the room. Once we found our seat we found fresh mozzarella and basil salad waiting for us along with a salad and some rolls. We got up and wandered around for a little while and ended up back outside by the fire which was really clutch because it was freezing outside. The staff came outside to let us know they were going to be serving the main course which was some type of beef with a delicious gravy, salmon, roasted potatoes, and garlic green beans. The beef was great and the salmon was tasty and I'm not a big fan of salmon. After the main course I was dying for a cup of coffee and out if came. The staff is very attentive and did not miss a beat. The cake that was served was delicious and so were the mini donuts that they make in house. My only wish is that I attended this wedding in the summer so I could of got a good look at the grounds and enjoyed the views more. The Wedding. I've been to a lot. Even was at Drew from YELP's. Sorry ladies the stud is to pasture. What a nice place. But like many wedding places. There are highs and lows. Just like marriage. Cocktail hour. In the courtyard. The food was AMAZING. So good. Very tight to move around. Getting a drink impossible. But here is the tip. There is a bar in the lobby no one was at. The dinner had a DJ/MC he was good. I'm sure that was a sub contractor. The were fireworks. Yes real fireworks. They were great. The lobster 1st course. Yummy. The prime rib. Not so yummy. My daughter was extremely nervous with her wedding plans prior. We should have listened to the owner Mark, when he told us his family has been doing this a long time and he was certain we would be happy with the results. During and after, we were buried in positive comments from our guests on "best wedding ever" "food was outstanding' "venue was magnificent' "the staff was amazing" "OMG this place is awesome". Needless to say, my very, very, very picky and detail oriented daughter was happier than words could express and the entire family absolutely loved the place and event. We can't say enough about Mark and his staff in their execution of such a critical day for us! What a blessing that we made the right decision here. Sooooo relieved!! I really enjoyed their Fathers Day Brunch. They had a great selection of food and for the price the quality was on par. Excellent for meat eaters, great for vegetarians but if you are vegan I would skip this place all together. Unfortunately they don't accept reservations so when we arrived at 10:40 as they opened at 10:30, we waited until 12 noon to be seated. Yes, you read right, an hour and a half wait. I would come here again for Sunday brunch but will skip it for Father's or Mother's Day. Our server Colleen was awesome, and it was just her second time so she was a superstar as far as our table is concerned. As other reviews mentioned the dress code is really strange. The men in our party came with collared shirts and slacks, and us ladies all had dresses. But so many patrons were dressed inappropriately with shorts and flip flops, it looked strange against the backdrop of servers who were dressed in black and white serving attire. On a side note, it wouldn't kill them to make the place more handicap accessible seeing as many of their patrons are mobility challenged. The entrance has a 2 inch lip, both men's and women's bathroom are NOT handicap accessible, not even 1 stall. My husband had to be escorted to another building ( thru a breezeway) to access a bathroom that he could use. read more

What an amazing job was done on the outdoor brunch launch! They went above and beyond to make everyone feel safe and to make the atmosphere so pretty and welcoming! And the food, SO MANY SELECTIONS! From the prime rib to the burrata and the salad station to the oyster/clam/shrimp cocktail/smoked salmon seafood station and the roasted pig with fresh ribs and (from what I heard because I was full and forgot to go back) amazing beans! All of this surrounding your choice of frittata or eggs benedict paired with bacon and sausage and roasted potatoes! Top it all off with waffles and ice cream or crepes next to fresh donuts, mini cannoli cones and delicious chocolate cake or a dessert sampler! Very disappointed. Last time it was excellent. This time little to no food assortment. Covering on ground very shakey. I was petrified I was going to fall. Not accommodating at at. $45.00 per person for a bagel and lox and eggs. What a rip off. Steer clear till they return to inside dining. read more
