Went up for lunch 3/18/25. Highly recommend! My dad and I both got what was on special. He got the bacon burger and I had the chicken wrap both with fries. Everything was hot and delicious. Pricing is reasonable. Great place if you are looking for something new. This is the second time I've been here. The staff were excellent both times. If you go on the weekend please try to be patient. My fiancé and I went for breakfast on Sunday. Food was delicious and it was busy so we had to wait little bit for our food. 10/10 recommend. read more

Waitress was put out we were there. Actually made the comment that "she thought she wouldn't be busy and they lied". Only two tables occupied. Food was ice cold, toast was the end of the loaf and had zero color, ham steak that was several dollars extra was a slice of ham half the size of my hand that was half fat. I had the most disgusting turkey dinner consisting of chopped up dark meat a 2x2 inch piece of stuffing and a half of a teaspoon of cranberry saice. Portions were large but who would want it! I would nèver eat there again nor would I reccomend it to anyone. read more

I would leave 0 stars if I could went last Saturday evening. They were out of half the menu claimed had a busy Friday. Guess along with not knowing how to prepare a decent meal you don't have a clue how to order stock. The tea tasted like swamp water. ( invest in a water filter) The salmon wasn't big enough to feed a cat and tasted like a used gym shoe. Kid ordered a hamburger came out with cheese on it . Went there Saturday 7/19/25 for the first and last time. It was an absolutely awful experience. The whole place smelled of cat pee. They were out of half of the menu. The ice tea tastes like they took water from the stagnant pools of heart lake. Asked for tarter sauce for the fried haddock sandwich they brought mayo with a chunk of potato. The salmon was terrible tasted like an old shoe the broccoli was the only option with the meal and it was more stems than flowerets. Ordered a hamburger it came out with cheese on it. Out of onion rings. Out of firecracker shrimp. French dip was edible but you only get a 2oz cup of aJus, maybe that's all they had left. Owner/ manager never came over to address any issues or offer any type of apology. It's clear that whoever owns this place has no business owning a restaurant. How you had the audacity to charge 109.00 for what you served is beyond me. read more

5 pm on a Saturday. 6 of us 3 couples..They were out of 1/2 the menu because they were busy Friday night?? Anyway we ordered. Salad was very slow but we got it. Just started our salad and girl brought out our food. Really ?? Fried haddock was good.. pork chops was good, chicken franchise good.. prime rib was ok, choped steak was dry..Restaurant was hot..air conditioning poor...all and all I will not return... service was slow.. had to ask for coffee twice.. checks again slow in getting to us. read more

Rustic Roots Tavern just opened in Dec. 2024 and is a welcome addition to the area. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is on the basic side but you will find something to like. We stopped for lunch and the clam chowder and chicken, apple, pecan salad were both great. Staff was friendly, quick and professional. Prices were surprisingly reasonable. Note that they will not be obtaining their liquor license until mid-January 2025. The interior of the restaurant is totally brand new and looks great. The parking lot has been partially repaved. Don't go, we had a large group and the place was pretty packed but i don't believe that excuses having to wait 30 mins for just our drinks, and the kids had to wait even longer. Food was undercooked wait was horrible and everything was salty. Overall don't go. read more

DISCLOSURE: This place was only open for a month when i went. Newly open place, big parking lot, nicely decorated on the inside. No liquor license yet so they said we could have BYOB, but i did not notice it on their page or anything, kind of wish i knew of that before i came. The menu (being one month old) had most of their items crossed out, and most specials just verbally told us in a laundry list. I get it, youre experimenting but just print out another updated menu in the meantime. Or a weekly one. Its kind off putting when half of the stuff i saw that i wanted online prior to going there is no longer on the menu. The service was pretty disorganized and there were funneling into eachother at their waitress station right beside us. They kept forgetting stuff in our orders and our sides came out after our meal? The food was just ok, our egg rolls were cold in the middle but still edible and did not want to ask anymore of the overwhelmed staff. They seemed to argue amongst themselves right on the floor in front of us, kinda weird but ok. The staff seemed a little inexperienced in some ways, trying to take multiple orders and back tracking. Overall, this place has potential to be ok. Im just going to chalk it up to the fact that they are a newer restaurant, and maybe some of the servers just need to learn a more efficient routine. I will probably return here after a little just to see, in hopes it will be better because i did like the atmosphere of the facility. read more

New restaurant working out opening. Going to be a great go to. Food excellent and service good. Menu and specials nice variety.

Went here with my family on a Friday night. It was definitely busy and I believe they had just opened. The service was okay. The waitress seemed overwhelmed and not happy to be there at all and we did have a bigger sized table. Took a while for the food to come out. There were a lot of things crossed out on the menu. I got the chicken franchise and it was delicious! Others got the haddock and they said it was cold and also the broccoli was rock hard and the baked potato was hard too. Didn't know it was byob when we came. We sat in the back part of the restaurant and it was very cramped. I felt bad for the servers trying to carry the big trays and trying to squeeze between all the tables and chairs. Seems like they have a couple kinks to work out but it wasn't bad! Would probably go back and try it in a couple months. read more

What a disappointing experience. This was our first time eating here since it changed ownership and we were exited about its reopening. The service was good. The bartender was polite and sympathetic. When we received our french onion soup, it was cold. We sent it back and it was pretty good after it was heated. I ordered the haddock dinner with fries and my husband ordered the fried chicken dinner with fries and carrots. COLD and under cooked. Our fries were cold and tasted like they were from lunch. My fried haddock was cold, the carrots were old and the only piece of chicken that was fully cooked was the leg. We are locals and enjoyed this establishment for many years when it was Heart Lake, JW's and were so looking forward to it's reopening. We arrived at 4:15pm when the restaurant was slow so our dinner wouldn't be rushed and it was just awful. Hopefully things change. read more
