I really can't believe this place can rate 4 star in Yelp.. this place is not authentic at all. It's worse than the sushi I bought in supermarket. The fish was not fresh as I can taste they are falling apart very easily. The rice is NOT fully cooked and very sticky. The number 1 important thing for sushi is the rice... what a joke here. It doesn't matter whether the sushi looks nice, I care about rice and quality of fish first. We also ordered a Tonkatsu ramen... which is the only noodles/ hot entree they have. The broth tasted like mix of tons ginger and soy sauce.. it's too spicy and too salty.. I can only eat it after rinsing it in a bowl of water. It's NO way authentic... and the last part. Price is extremely high considering the quality. We finally paid 90+ for this meal and still hungry... the ramen is like 24 dollars. A 5 piece gyoza is 12 dollars. I know sushi place is very rare in this area.. but still.. they don't know how to make it right. read more

As a resident of the SF Bay Area, I'm going to rate this on a scale comparable to restraunts in my area. Price - 2/5 Ramen here is $16/bowl, and while the soup was nice and rich, it definitely had a "soup packet" feel to it, which is understandable given this isn't a dedicated ramen store. California roll is $10/roll, and the sizes are pretty small, however I think they do use actual crab (cannot confirm) vs. imitation crab. Taste - 3.5/5. The sushi wasn't anything special, but definitely not bad. Refer to small portion sizes. The ramen lost a lot of points as it was presented to us and BOTH bowls (for family of 4) still had sections and chunks of noodles that haven't seperated and were undercooked. Not a bad restraunt if you're tired of having Bison all all the time, but compared to my Bay Area pallet, I would not come again. read more

When I walked in I was immediately greeted. The inside is small but they have an outside patio area. I don't think this is a place for kids. Very intimate, quiet place, nice ambiance. A good place to go for date night. They have a bar area that you can sit at, or table seating. I ordered a maki spider roll, and maki unagi roll. This order was to go, they weren't super fast so if you are in a rush you might want to see if they allow you to call ahead and place an order. The meal at King very pleasant surprise for a high altitude seafood restaurant. The sea urchin shot was tasty, I highly recommend it. Their noodle bowl was worth the trip, packed with a lot flavor, a lot of pork and tasty dashi, excellent choice after a long day on the slopes. Every thing we ate was excellent, I can't wait to go back. I had a wonderful meal with close friends and we ate a lot of food. Could have kept eating all night. If you're thinking, Sushi in Jackson Hole, I understand. When I travel I look for what is supposed to be the best sushi in that town. Sometimes it's great and sometimes it's OK. However King Sushi is one of the best I've had. You'll also enjoy the quaint ambience. But, make sure to make a reservation or you'll quite possibly be out of luck. We decided to try this place because of its great reviews on Yelp and the nice, cozy interior of the restaurant itself. The first day we went, it was insanely crowded and the waiter told us it would be a 30 min wait. We ended up waiting for about an hour until they called us. Fortunately, we had a decent dinner at another place after 30 minutes of waiting passed since we were starving. The second day, we were in the downtown area of Jackson and passed by this restaurant again while it was Happy Hour. We decided to give it a second chance. However, the Happy Hour deal wasn't worth it. We tried all three of the $6 rolls, which were very little and basically composed of just rice with a couple more ingredients including small portion of sashimi. The taste was just alright. Next up, we had Ono sashimi which actually tasted great but the portion was terribly little. The Pork Ramen was decent although the pork was very salty. The Salmon Sake don was just bearable. The salmon itself was a little burned and I totally wouldn't recommend this dish. Finally, the house roll "Crouching Tiger" helped this place pull up its reputation a little bit. The combination of spicy tuna and yuzu was delicious. For the service, there is a huge room for improvement. The waiters looked like they want to kick us out so that they can bring in new customers. We also asked for cold water twice and they still ended up serving us hot water. Overall, I wouldn't recommend dining here since it wasn't worth our money despite going in Happy Hour. read more

It's a small restaurant so they don't take reservations but i suggest putting your name in and grabbing a cocktail nearby (try The Rose). The fish is very fresh and they have great rolls and sashimi. When I first walked in this bubbly girl welcomed us in. I had a sking accident so my leg was in a brace. And the owner quickly offered me something to prop it up, and kept checking up on me. So immediate 10 points for kindness. Now let's get to the food. We ordered the gyoza dumplings which were delicious. I highly recommend the pickles and the albacore which was like butter and melted in my mouth. The Fried Rice with tuna was really good and just pops in your mouth. I wasn't crazy about the rock shrimp but everything else was amazing. The miso was perfect with extra seaweed which I love. The owner is a young woman who runs a tight ship and I promise that if you go it'll be a special meal you'll remember. read more

Really nice hostesses. However, our server was slightly inattentive and placed my order wrong. I ordered a tempura shrimp roll and was served a California roll. I took the California roll to be nice and not make it harder on the kitchen. Then when I received the check, I was charged for the more expensive California roll in which I did not order. What an odd thing to find in the middle of Wyoming. Even odder that we'd be craving sushi in the middle of Wyoming. Easily the best sushi in town. Fresh everyday and pleasant staff. Owner presence is great (very nice people). For some of my friends, this has been a beautiful place to dine and enjoy each other. However, seating is extremely limited. Summer is better because of the deck, which is great to have. But for most of the year it's probably not the best option to just drop in spur of the moment, there might be a bit of a wait. No answer on the phone despite a sign stating to call them, and the server only acted bothered when they came out and I was able to ask about the order. At 22 degrees outside, please get the outside pickup right. Sushi mediocre at best, with good fish but poorly seasoned rice. The sliver of salmon lost in the rice of a salmon roll did provide some amusement. If I'd gotten the soy sauce I requested maybe it would been better. The noodle and sushi roll here are garbage. This is the worst Japanese restaurant in North America., for me. Don't expect to have any authentic Japanese restaurant in Jackson. This is Jackson, not LA, NY, or Chicago. The pork reman is terrible, the soup is salty and the pork belly is smelly. The chief fired the pork belly for a Japanese noodle. Are you serious ? Too much fat in the belly. It seems that they put Tonkatsu sauce in the soup, tasted 'awkward'. The sushi roll is full of cucumber, the owner is 'smart'. One star for the service. read more

I won't recommend this restaurants as ordered sushi and noodles, they literally took more than half an hour to bring up my sushi, while my friends are all finished with their noodles but my sushi yet I am still waiting. I urged them twice, with no apologies! Their water has incrustation and it takes forever to refill a new one. They choose to sit us in a corner of the corner table. While there are at least 3 more empty tables. They clearly discriminate Asian people. they dare to bring out the check and circle the 18% tip amount for us as if they fear is not paying.
