Such an underrated restaurant and would definitely want to go back. Ambiance is so calming and the service was friendly. The dishes were made and grilled perfectly.

A delightful & refreshing dining experience! Keumsan is tucked back with a small storefront along Granville street in the Marpole neighborhood, offering a small selection of Korean cuisine. Sop bap is their flare - it's new to me, and served as individually served rice pots. To the end of the meal, you will find crisped up bits of rice stuck to the bottom of the rice bowl. The abalone was so tender to the bite, slightly sweet, and paired very well against the buttery soy sauce of the dish. The rice bowl is also served with a onsen egg for you to top on yourself. The kalbi (oh the kalbi!) - it was delicious! Perfectly marinated, not too sweet and definitely not too salty, and so tender. I salivate thinking of their kalbi!!

Back for more! We liked the sot bap rice cooked in individual cooker so much last time that we both went it and skipped others. Unagi rice was very presentable. Not as soft as usual but looked like good quality eel. Service was top notch as usual.

We came on a Saturday at 5:15 as we had reservations. We ordered the BBQ eel sot bap ($21.95) and the abalone sot bap ($22.95). They each come with a seaweed soup and a soft poached egg. The side dishes are also available for refill. The side dishes were okay. Nothing to write home about. The sot baps were both really delicious. We preferred the abalone one over the BBQ eel one. The abalone was nice and soft not chewy at all. It went well with the egg and the fragrance of the rice. The unagi wasn't too sweet. I liked the crispiness on the bottom of the rice. Overall a satisfying meal. I would come back to try the kalbi

Really unique dining experience and it's got quite a strict dining policy re: wait-list and seating time limit. This place seems to focus on a short list of menu items and mainly focused on soon dubu and sot bap (sizzling rice pot mixed with butter and your choice of protein). We ordered a beef soon dubu and a chicken sot bap and both came out super hot. While the dishes were delicious, they did feel a bit heavy (esp since it was fatty beef and the rice was a little greasy)! They gave out refillable side dishes and seaweed soup for the sot bap. We sat near the kitchen and saw how the chefs were cooking and they looked meticulous. Was impressed that it looked very clean and detailed. Our server was also very attentive which we really appreciated. Only docking one point because the food did feel very heavy and slightly greasy for our liking!

Food was so good here. Really enjoyed the different take on the traditional Korean rice/ soup dishes.

This unassuming stall inside of the Robson Public Market brought my tastebuds back to Busan…read more Both the chef and cashier were super helpful and nice. They answered all my questions and offered recommendations, and were very welcoming. Nam San seems to be very popular for their Soondae (blood sausage). However, I've never really tried Soondae before and I was feeling nauseous on the day of my visit--so I opted for something more mild and less "adventurous" instead. I will definitely be back to try their Soondae next time though. Daeji Gukbap 10/10 This boiled bowl of stew was exactly what my upset tummy needed. The creamy broth warmed me right up and soothed my stomach so well. It was the only thing I was able to keep down in two days. There was also a generous amount of tender and flavourful pork inside. This bowl of stew honestly reminded me so much of the one we tried in Busan. Definitely recommend it to anyone who likes stews. There was no gaminess at all, and yet the soup was still so full of flavour. Absolutely delicious. So this place now operates under the name Nam San but is still an absolute gem. One of the three…read moreremaining stalls in the Robson Public Market food court, Nam San specializes in pork offal and homemade Korean blood sausage (soondae), incorporated into a variety of dishes. I always order the same thing, a mixed pork offal and soondae soup. You can choose the spiciness level when you order but they also offer red pepper flakes and fish sauce on the side to add to taste. It comes in small and large, with a side of pickled radish, roasted seaweed, and white rice. Even with the small, you get a lot of meat in the hot stone bowl and it is so comforting. The offal is super tender but the star here is definitely the soondae. Pork blood and vermicelli with spices are encased in an intestine casing, making for a unique springy texture. It's even more tasty when you dip into their homemade fish sauce and the stew warms you to the bone. I love supporting small mom and pop shops, and with how tucked away this place is on the busy Robson strip, I'll definitely make an effort to frequent them time and time again. Please pay them a visit and try their unique offerings out!
