A hidden chimac place centrally located on Robson St. The fried chicken was done perfectly and I love their rice cakes and side dishes!
This place was so good! I recommend the hot stone bowl rich sets as it comes with 9 different sides. It's pretty affordable and it'll definitely fill you up. The boneless fried chicken was good too. It was crispy yet still juicy. I would probably recommend getting one of the flavoured fried chicken instead of the original as it was a little plain. The fried sticky rice cake that came with it was yummy although a little plain without sauce (from the chicken)
Came here on a Wednesday evening around 7 and the place was already full. There is a QR code to join the waitlist. I was craving bibimbap, but they didn't have it on the menu, so we ordered the egg fried rice instead. They do have fried chicken bap though, which looked tempting. Their seolleongtang was already well seasoned for my taste, so I didn't need to add any salt or pepper. The portions of both the rice and soup were quite generous, and the flavors were really good. We also ordered a small padak since an entire page of their menu is dedicated to fried chicken. The chicken pieces were big, juicy, and very satisfying. There are few other specialty dishes like bossam that I would like to try as well but I will save that for next time
holy moly. honestly was not expecting Kosoo to be as GREAT as it was. the staff was super friendly, environment very welcoming, an the food fresh and delicious. the dirty fries caught us completely by surprise as they were delicious. also worth mentioning that the coke zero being so delicious with significantly less ingredients as an American was a great first start of our trip lol. definitely give this place a try!
The honey butter chicken was soooo good!! I loved the different textures in the dish like the crunchy chips, chewy rice cakes and crispy chicken! Highly recommend!
Nice spot for korean food, service was prompt and friendly with a relaxed atmosphere. Menu pricings are decent and the portion size is good as well! Only tried the Galbijjin this time around, it was spot on flavour wise. More than enough to feet two people and came with plenty of sides!
Service was fast and friendly. The side dishes were yummy and they are attentive if you want refills. We ordered the yangnyeom boneless (half size) and the sauce was too sweet for my liking, but the rice cakes were soooo good. Just the right chewy texture on the inside and crispy on the outside. We also got the spicy jokbal and it was indeed spicy but so delicious. The meat was tender and the veggies in the dish add the right amount of crunch to pair with that. Two dishes were more than enough for two people.
We went upstairs and sat near the window so we had a view of Robson. The dumplings and mushroom bulgogi we ordered were fine. Banchan were 3 dishes, which was quite odd as I normally get at least 5 dishes at other restaurants & other people seemed to be given many more as well, from the pictures they've posted. Loud atmosphere as music played while customers chatted.
Last night in Canada and decided to go to a Korean restaurant. We looked at reviews and came in. The service here is okay. We orders and they just dropped off the food and never came back. Wish the service was better, like say, how is everything or is there anything else. The chicken was decent. My Wang galbi tang soup was good. Wish there was more noodles. Othet than that, I would go back to this place. The music was awesome, love the k pop music and they do play other music. I would recommend this place.

As soon as you head up the stairs, you are greeted by friendly staff and a clean, cozy dining space. The menu is straightforward with plenty of great options. For appetizers, we ordered the Mandu, which are Korean style dumpling filled with pork and mixed vegetables, which were delicious. For entrees, I went with the Soy Garlic Chibap, which is boneless fried chicken tossed in soy garlic sauce over rice. My girlfriend ordered the Kimchijjigae, a spicy kimchi stew with pork served with rice. The portions were generous, everything tasted fresh and comforting, and the prices were surprisingly affordable for how much food we got. We left full and happy. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!
The beef hotpot has very delicious broth, very beefy. I love that it has various veggies and mushroom. We are a table of three, so the seafood pancake and the hotpot is the perfect quality. The seafood pancake felt very thick with flours, I had much better seafood pancakes at other places. Overall, good food and especially with hotpot style, it's fun to share on a cloudy day.

We tried the following: - Supreme Full Size Boneless Chicken $37 ( cream sauce with yangneyeom) - Mayack Full Size Boneless Chicken $37 (seasoned cheese powder w/ yogurt sauce) - Bullak Geongol Hotpot $57 (marinated beef, octopus, potato, cabbage, glass noodle & more) - Spicy Chicken Feet $25 The portions for the full size chicken is huge! The chicken was crispy and flavourful. They came with potatoes and rice cakes. It was more than enough for three people. The hot pot was loaded & very comforting. The chicken was quite spicy but tasty! It does get a bit pricey so come with a group to share!

We wanted Korean for our last night in Vancouver, and Kosoo was exactly what we needed. You walk up the steps where your greeted and sat quickly, love the vibe, with a mix of older and younger out dining. There's water sitting at the table for you. The appetizer was the corn salad, fresh diced cucumber made this a hit. The miso soup was loaded with mushrooms which was great, and the broth was delicious. LA Galbi was very well made, tender with some chew, and the charred onions made this dish special, but the Kimchi fried rice was on another level delicious, rice cooked perfectly and mixed with the kimchi made every bite a complete joy. When you see on the menu the entree comes with two bowls of rice that means it's big enough for two. Enjoy, we definitely did. Top 5 Korean cuisine. read more

The cold noodles here are really good. It's the light, savoury style I prefer, not the sweet-and-sour kind. The doenjang jjigae (Korean soybean paste stew) comes in a generous portion. Ingredients including tofu and meat inside are fresh and flavourful. Portions overall are quite large. The only downside is there are only three complimentary side dishes before the meal. Dishes like the potato ones taste overly sweet, and feel like they weren't prepared with much care. The service is friendly, and the location is decent. However, the restaurant looks a little dated. I'd suggest some renovations or a deeper clean. Overall it's still a good spot. We visited seven months ago, and this is our second time dining here. read more
we went for the lunch sets which are on social media. We ordered one of the soy marinated crab and shrimps set and one of the spicy anago set. Both came with a pot rice, a beef bone soup and sides. They are definitely a good deal. I really enjoyed the marinated crabs and shrimps. Both are very flavorful and fresh. Went very well with the rice. I personally found the batter of the fried anago a little too thick which overwhelmed the eel itself. But flavor is good I like most of the sides being kimchi is ny favorite. Well balance of spiciness and tanginess. It is unfortunate that they were out of the pan seared mackerel. I would love to go try it when they are available read more

Got the spicy Jokbal. Delicious and spicy. Came out super hot temperature. Platter is definitely for 2-3 people but ate it and then ate the leftovers the next day. Was there late at night on a weekday. Service was friendly and attentive. Upstairs through narrow stairway. I could see the place getting lively on the weekend as the food is often considered drinking food but it was pretty calm and quiet when I was there. read more

Not a bad Korean pocha style restaurant. They have a lot of Korean fried chicken dishes, which is good but not really special. We got the soy garlic dressing wings and the flavours were okay. We also got the cold noodles, but again, was not too special. The restaurant is clean and staff very friendly though! read more

Great spot for late night food and just around the corner from Scotiabank for post movie munchies. We got a half order of the honey butter, soy garlic, and the mayak fried chicken with a side of wild fries. Each chicken order comes with rice cakes and potatoes, which actually go really well with the sauces. The honey butter was my favourite, and the wild fries were a bit underunderwhelming. We also ordered a pitcher of Asahi to share, which went amazingly well with the fried chicken. The service was very fast and they were able to sit our larger group down right away at around 10pm. Will definitely be back again soon when I'm craving chicken! read more
I wanted to eat Korean food while I was in Vancouver, so I found this in Robson St. First, I asked the female staff for the recommended menu. She advised that Yangnyeom-Half Size Boneless Fried Chicken with Sweet chilli Sauce(Chicken Thigh, Rice Cake, Potato, Kosoo Sweet Chilli Paste Sauce) and mushroom bulgogi are popular. All the staff are kind and good service. I really enjoyed Yangnyeom fried chicken. I'm sure you'll be addicted to this sweet and spicy taste. I couldn't finish the mushroom bulgogi because it was too much. It's enough for two people to eat what I ordered. I ordered chives pancakes to take out. It was yummy. read more

We found Kosoo while walking on Robson. Kosoo had good reviews on Yelp so we decided to partake. We had a delicious complete meal for $54 CAD: a bargain for the quality and preparation of the food. Vibe is neighborhood restaurant rather than touristy. Service was fast, friendly and efficient! read more

This was my second visit. We ordered spicy squid and pork bulgogi, kimchi stew, and fried chicken. Everything was delicious, but the spicy squid and pork bulgogi was the dish I kept reaching for the most. It's the most casual Korean restaurant to go to in downtown Vancouver. read more
Kosoo is located on a busy street near the Pacific centre mall. The restaurant is upstairs and pretty spacious. Went in on a Sunday around 5:30 and most tables were taken. We ordered 3 dishes for 4 people and this was more than enough. We ordered the kimchi fried rice, soy garlic boneless chicken and bossam. The kimchi fried rice was a miss! The flavor was mostly of ham not kimchi or gochujang. The soy garlic was a really good flavor and the bossam was a good texture. The only thing I wish they had was like lettuce wraps or perilla leaves for the bossam. They also gave a couple of banchans which were good. Overall very filling meal and would recommend if you're craving some decent Korean food after some shopping. read more

Delicious chicken! Came here on a Friday around 6pm and it was starting to get busy for dinner. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor and the walk up the stairs is to get you ready for the amazing food. We were seated quickly and notified that the A/C was not working. Luckily it wasn't too busy yet so we felt comfortable and appreciated the heads up. We got the custom bone in Kosoo chicken half and half with our choice of 2 styles. We got the Mayack + Yangnyeom. We were super hungry so we also ordered the Honey Butter boneless chicken. We were served a side of pickled daikon. You can also request a side of rice. The Honey Butter boneless chicken came first (because it doesn't take as long as bone in to cook). The chicken was super hot, crispy, sweet and juicy. There were also pieces of potato and rice cakes. We loved this dish! Our 1/2 Mayack & 1/2 Yangnyeom came shortly after...wowza, I think we over ordered. It was a huge platter. The Mayack had a delicious cheese powder and was served with yogurt for dipping. The Yangnyeom was sweet and a little spicy. We had so much leftover. We highly recommend this spot for chicken and would try it again for their other dishes. read more

Went here on Saturday night. 7 of us ordered a lot! We ordered the fried checked with go ju hang sauce and soy garlic chicken, Bassam -asked for lettuce, Kimchee pancake, and a seafood dish. Service was great. Yujin(spelling? ) was our server, attentive, friendly and helpful! Dishes were delivered rather quickly. I enjoyed the both the chicken Dishes and the pork belly wrapped in lettuce and the sauce. The Korean pancake was my least favorite. It tasted and looked like cheese pizza. lol d read more

Taste 4.6/5 Bossam original and Pork Belly were so flavorful and I recommended at least getting one of these. The LA Galbi came just off the grill straight to the table and was beyond perfect. The Kimchi Jeon didn't stand out and could be skipped. The Tteokbokki was decent and had the slightest kick but could have used just a little bit more on the spicy level. But the best dish was the Yangnyeom fried chicken...I would go back just for this. Messy but so so worth it! Price: 3.5/5 Pretty darn expensive. Is it worth it? Ehh if I wasn't paying then yes. You definitely need to do family style. Service: 4.0/5 Our server said we were ordering too much (we were!) and helped us with recommendations. Make a reservations, the wait could be long. My only major complaint was when you go in it was a little confusing on who to talk to about getting a seat and it was crowded. Vibes/Atmosphere: 3.8/5 Pretty inside, volume was decent. HUGE portions - we ordered 3 items (we were a table of 3) and it could've fed 5-6 adults. The fried chicken was delicious - super crispy without being oily. Perfectly seasoned without being salty. 5 stars. Seafood pancake was good - but it's bit too doughy for me. The seafood was tasty though. The hotpot was wonderful and soul soothing on a cold day. My party came in expecting tasty Korean fried chicken, and the restaurant delivered. We ordered the half-size of the Creamy Pa Dak and the half-size of the Soy Garlic. The combination did not disappoint. What is unique compared to a few other places I've been to is that they serve their chicken with rice cakes and potatoes mixed with their entrees. Would highly recommend getting a "Wet" and "Dry" chicken combination to try more than one and get your money's worth. Very casual dining experience as you can catch up with friends and go out to eat. I visited for lunch and got the short rib. The broth is amazing but the meat needs more seasoning. It was a little bland. We were seated by the window which was great because it had a nice view of Robson (a popular street downtown). The servers are always nice and attentive. Overall give it a try, they have numerous other items that all at least look tasty. read more
What a great place to get KFC, Korean fried chicken! Got here early for dinner, just after 5 pm on a Sunday. Noticed there was a line down the stairs waiting for tables starting at 6. So come early. We were a party of 4. Ordered two orders of the kimchee fried rice, gochujang glazed chicken and soy garlic chicken. That was a lot of food! The photos don't do it justice. The plates of chicken include corn and potatoes. First, the kimchee fried rice had healthy portions of pork belly that was cooked with the rice. So delicious and topped off with an over easy egg. My favorite was the chicken with the gochujang glaze. Perfect mix of sweet and spicy. All different sections of chicken chopped up, fried, and glazed. The corn and potato was a nice surprise. The soy garlic is good for those who may not like spice. read more
