The cold noodles here are really good. It's the light, savoury style I prefer, not the sweet-and-sour kind. The doenjang jjigae (Korean soybean paste stew) comes in a generous portion. Ingredients including tofu and meat inside are fresh and flavourful. Portions overall are quite large. The only downside is there are only three complimentary side dishes before the meal. Dishes like the potato ones taste overly sweet, and feel like they weren't prepared with much care. The service is friendly, and the location is decent. However, the restaurant looks a little dated. I'd suggest some renovations or a deeper clean. Overall it's still a good spot. We visited seven months ago, and this is our second time dining here. read more

we went for the lunch sets which are on social media. We ordered one of the soy marinated crab and shrimps set and one of the spicy anago set. Both came with a pot rice, a beef bone soup and sides. They are definitely a good deal. I really enjoyed the marinated crabs and shrimps. Both are very flavorful and fresh. Went very well with the rice. Came here on a Wednesday evening around 7 and the place was already full. There is a QR code to join the waitlist. I was craving bibimbap, but they didn't have it on the menu, so we ordered the egg fried rice instead. They do have fried chicken bap though, which looked tempting. Their seolleongtang was already well seasoned for my taste, so I didn't need to add any salt or pepper. The portions of both the rice and soup were quite generous, and the flavors were really good. We also ordered a small padak since an entire page of their menu is dedicated to fried chicken. The chicken pieces were big, juicy, and very satisfying. Ive been to their Cardero location several times, but first time to this location. Its upstairs, so if you get a window seat like I did, you get a view of Robson st down below which is kind of nice. This location in particular seems to specialize in fried chicken but also offers a lot of classics too. When you show up, theres a QR code you scan with your phone to put yourself on the waiting list. Then you wait...and eventually they will seat you. Service is friendly enough. The place was really busy on a Fri Night but we were seated within 10 mins. We ordered a half portion of the boneless fried chicken with yangyeom sauce. Comes with a few potato pieces and rice cakes. This was good. Chicken texture was great, nicely fried, still juicy inside. solid 4.5/5 We also ordered one of those big hot pots for 2, with beef and octopus. They bring out the pot and cook it on a little propane burner on your table. They mix it up for you. This was not bad. generous portion of meat, comes with 2 services of rice (each huge, btw), and we had plenty of leftovers between 2 ppl. Octopus was kind of tough but the rest was good enough, nothing spectacular. 3.5/5. Overall for a downtown Korean place, solid 4/5. I would come back. Wish the service was better, like say, how is everything or is there anything else. The chicken was decent. My Wang galbi tang soup was good. Wish there was more noodles. Great spot for late night food and just around the corner from Scotiabank for post movie munchies. We got a half order of the honey butter, soy garlic, and the mayak fried chicken with a side of wild fries. Each chicken order comes with rice cakes and potatoes, which actually go really well with the sauces. The honey butter was my favourite, and the wild fries were a bit underunderwhelming. We ordered 3 dishes for 4 people and this was more than enough. We ordered the kimchi fried rice, soy garlic boneless chicken and bossam. The kimchi fried rice was a miss! The flavor was mostly of ham not kimchi or gochujang. The soy garlic was a really good flavor and the bossam was a good texture. The only thing I wish they had was like lettuce wraps or perilla leaves for the bossam. They also gave a couple of banchans which were good. Delicious chicken! Came here on a Friday around 6pm and it was starting to get busy for dinner. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor and the walk up the stairs is to get you ready for the amazing food. We were seated quickly and notified that the A/C was not working. Luckily it wasn't too busy yet so we felt comfortable and appreciated the heads up. We got the custom bone in Kosoo chicken half and half with our choice of 2 styles. We got the Mayack + Yangnyeom. We were super hungry so we also ordered the Honey Butter boneless chicken. We were served a side of pickled daikon. You can also request a side of rice. The Honey Butter boneless chicken came first (because it doesn't take as long as bone in to cook). The chicken was super hot, crispy, sweet and juicy. There were also pieces of potato and rice cakes. We loved this dish! Our 1/2 Mayack & 1/2 Yangnyeom came shortly after...wowza, I think we over ordered. It was a huge platter. The Mayack had a delicious cheese powder and was served with yogurt for dipping. The Yangnyeom was sweet and a little spicy. We had so much leftover.
