literally Frozen food (steamed dumping) My friend and i went there a few days ago. Several disgusting rats were crawling around while they were eating. As soon as I saw those rats crawling around on the floor, I put my spoon down. I don't know whether the servers saw the rats, but they probably knew that those rats are always crawling around. it was that many. I will never go there AGAIN.

First time at the Vancouver location and the inside was super spacious like the Burnaby location. Ordered two cold noodles because it was a hot day. I fully expected one to be spicy and the other not to be but the noodles were completely different! I loved the chewy texture in both of the noodles and would get it again for sure! The rice cake and beef soup was disappointing though. The rice cakes were too soft and didn't have the chewy texture you long for with rice cakes and there was little meat to be seen as well. Definitely felt like the dishes are hit and miss but doesn't stop me from trying it again

Open until midnight, we went late night because of cravings for spicy Korean food. It hit the spot. This new location (2021) has a kaorake room, a bar and an outdoor deck (weather permitting) that looks out onto Robson St. Bibim Bap had good veg to rice ratio $12.98. 4* Pork Bone Stew portion meant for at least 2 diners. Hard to be dainty eating this dish. Need to suck on the bones to get every last bits of tender meat. $32.98. 4* Spicy Beef Stew aka Yook-Kay-Jang. A lightly sweet and definitely not as spicy as it sounds or looks $14.98 4* Karaoke get 15 minutes free with a food receipt of $100+ Service very nice Located -on SE corner of Robson St & Bute St -above Happy Lemon, Castellated Cheesecake & Mochi Mochi but entrance on Bute St. Walk up to the 2nd floor

Been craving JMJ's cold noodles and galbi for the longest time. It's been over a decade since the last visit, and it's a different downtown location, but still the same authentic, well-balanced, delicious Korean food! Loved the short walk from our hotel and the many shops nearby. The servers were kind and friendly--like almost everyone in Canada! Prices seem low compared to the LA/OC area, especially post-pandemic. Will be back soon!

Had a chance to visit Vancouver recently and so glad I got to eat at Jang Mo Jib! I had dinner there the first night we visited and forgot to take pictures as we ate all the food up too fast. Went back the next day for their Korean style chicken wings. They're slightly spicy, slightly sweet and super delicious! Try anything off the menu, it's all good!

    Great meal to have.

I haven't try this place for a while due to my lack of effect of walking down the hill on Robson Street. Since they moved to a new location, I might as well have a meal there. On that day, I order the House Beef and Seafood soup. The dish tasted great with the standard Korean style favor. I would come back for a second seating with my friends and have the larger portion of Korean BBQ.

I quite enjoy JMJ. They have moved into the old Moxies on Robson and Bute beside the Breka. I am not sure if they still have private Kareoke rooms but am waiting to find out. Had a beer here during their soft opening and can't wait to come back to try the food. I love the decor and atmosphere.

Price/quality (3/4): I came here for Korean food and I was surprised to find that they also served dim sum from Hon's. Still, their soft tofu stew was the same quality that you would expect from a different Jang Mo Jib location--quite nice, though nothing too impressive. That being said, I'm happy to see that they did not skimp on quality even though they also serve food from another restaurant (presumably due to some kind of partnership). Service (1/1): Service was friendly and effective. Would I come here again: Yes

Mediocre Korean food. Service was okay. Ambiance was very average, nothing special. I guess my expectations were too high.

The chili-lime tofu, my go-to, is grilled fresh and juicy with a tangy marinade. I find these bowls very filling, but the price adds up quickly as you add more salad scoops, so I find it best to be conservative with my estimate of how much I think I need to eat. Besides the salad bowls, they have some hot entrees. I tried the Moroccan chickpea hot bowl and the tomato soup and both were a little bland, which was especially disappointing for something labelled "Moroccan". I would go back and try some different entrees to see if anything else is better, but I would say the salads are likely the best choice here. They have a very limited selection of "healthy" baked goods too. I really liked the chocolate pistachio cookie. As you would expect, it's significantly less sweet and has a slightly drier texture than a regular cookie, but if you like that kind of "better for you" treat, it's good. Very cocoa-forward. I've had good experiences with the service. The staff is friendly enough and usually pretty fast. It's counter service, but they'll usually bring your food to you at your table. There's a good amount of seating inside and a few tables outside when the weather allows. It's minimalist but clean.

This is the place where I usually buy cakes for the office. Their cakes are pre-made and placed in the displays for you to choose from. They make cakes throughout the day, but if you're unlucky they could be low on choices if you're there at the wrong time. If you have time, order ahead, but I don't usually have any problems with walk ins. The most recent cakes that I purchased were the Lemon Meringue and the Chocolate. Both cakes were sweet, light and fluffy. They were a hit in the office.

The HBC Gourmet Market is a little known great eatery in downtown Vancouver. It is located on the bottom floor of the Hudson's Bay Company (next to the Pacific Centre food court). It appears to be relatively unknown because Yelp doesn't know about it and so many people are always asking where I buy my lunch! Here you will find a very tasty selection of typical deli fare... The soups, salads, and sandwiches are their main selects but there is a whole lot more! My favourites are the Thai Chicken soup and the Chipotle Chicken Soup... usually ordered with a Greek salad. I am always so pleased with my lunch that I made this my very first review on Yelp!

And the porchetta on the cutting board was calling me. We ordered a Porchetta sandwich, meatball sandwich and a side Kale Caesar salad. The Porchetta was great. Spicy and delicious with a bit of kale added for texture and color. This was EVEN BETTER than the Porchetta if you can believe it. The kale salad was also good as well as the spicy pickle. Being that it was our first time here, one takeaway is to ask for more cracklin' because the crunchy pieces are the best part IMO. We ordered a porchetta sandwich and a grilled cheese. For the price (compared to Cali ) I thought it was a great value for a porchetta sandwich. The bread was fresh, perfectly toasted. The flavors were all tasty, and getting a side of their spicy dip elevated the sandwich even more. 10/10 would eat on the regular if I lived near by. The grilled cheese was alright though in comparison to the porchetta sandwich. Great cheese pull, definitely needs some dipping sauce to elevate it though. Don't know if I'd order again but if a grilled cheese is what you are craving, it'll do just fine. This location had some seating inside and a couple benches outside. Definitely good for solo dining or a quick lunch. Overall, glad we tried it, and wouldn't hesitate to order again.
