Delicious spicy kabob fresh off the grill! Found this place randomly, have come here twice in a week already. Squid kabob is tender, lamb is delicious and well marinated, as are the mushroom wrapped in pork belly. The sauce they use on the kabob really compliments the flavor. Also they are cheap, most of the kabobs are 1 to 2 dollars, some a little more. Tried the Fish hot pot, which is also good. Scallop Dumplings are fine. Our new favorite kabob place! read more

Came here on a whim recently. Not a lot of people know about this place, so when I went there was literally no other tables than mine. It's located right next to quickly. The kabobs here are cheap! Even though the portions are snack-sized, it's still a great deal! My favorite was the lamb kabob(only $1). It was very soft and flavorful! My second favorite would be the squid. It was coated in a spicy sauce. The mushrooms wrapped with pork belly and the chicken were my least favorites. They also have sweet corn on the cob skewers. I loved those! I didn't see it on the menu though. The waiter offered it. There's not much else I wanted to try on the menus except for maybe the dumplings. Service was great! He was nice, prompt and attentive. I would definitely come back here for more lamb kabobs. read more

Kabobs House - Top to bottom: mushroom wrapped with pork belly, lamb, and chicken - Chinese Near Me - Duluth, Georgia

Lamb kabobs r good, eggplants r soso service r good, environment r soso, But, this is not that fix to other nations people, it's more kind of traditional things Price r actually pretty expensive if u wanna try kabobs read more

Found this place on yelp and me and the wife decided to try it out . I like how it works as you order the kabob as you go .. Try the mushroom wrapped with pork belly wrapped :) Fantastic .. We also had a spicy fish bowl which was delicious and tasty . Looks to be family owned since the it looks like the husband & wife running around taking care of their clients (a sign of potentially great food) Over all We would come back as we were satisfied with everything, tasty food at a great price very close to home .... read more

Newly open kabob place right next to Quickly. The seatings are both booth and tables. Ordered the following: - lamb kabob - beef kabob - beef tendon kabob - beef tendon balls kabob - chicken gizzard kabob - chicken heart kabob - squid kabob - mushroom wrapped with pork belly kabob - lamb hotpot* - grilled steak rice bowl - lamb and zucchini dumpling - meat pie - noodle soup with pork ribs Total was about $50 something for dinner of 3, so its not bad with all these food. *the lamb hotpot we got isnt your typical hotpot you get at say Mini Hot Pot. Its more of a noodle soup thats already cooked for you and serve in a "bowl". A friend said it taste pretty salty to her, but I didnt taste any saltiness. The kabobs werent bad. They were pretty moist and warm. I appreciate that they didnt have that "fishy/raw" taste when eating it. Pieces were decent size. Prices ranges from $1.00 - $4.00 per stick/order. They come out cooked for you so you dont have to do the cooking yourself. Grilled steak rice bowl is the least favorite. The steak was thinly sliced yet tough to chew/bite off. Taste wise, its not bad but taste more like bbq meet teriyaki sauce. You get a small side of cabbage&seaweed salad and corn. Lamb and zucchinis dumplings are nothing special. It's decent and taste pretty good. But again, it's nothing special. Meat pie. Its like a flat bun with meat inside and is fried. If you been to other chinese/taiwanese places, you know what im talking about. Noodle soup with pork ribs is your typical noodle soup with veggies and pork ribs. Nothing special. Server is nice and make sure your cup is always filled with water. Kitchen is an open kitchen so you can see the chefs prep/cook. Overall, pretty decent place. Good eats. Cheap prices. Server is nice. Opens late. read more

How is this place not five stars? Oh yeah, that's right. The service is horrible. But you're not here for the service! You are here for the consistent, high quality, reasonably priced, large portions of truly authentic Chinese food from the northern region of the country. Go for the rice dishes. Kung Lao chicken is complex with a sweet base. Absolutely delectable. Go for the wok chicken and the vegetable hot wok. It's spicy and very filling! The kebabs are also good and reasonably priced. However I don't find them super filling so I don't typically get that. Another great dish is the hot pot. It has an obscenely large quantity of food and is very tasty. To summarize, they have an amazing chef back there! It's not the cleanest place, and the service is pretty horrible. But the food is great and keeps me coming back every time! read more

Decent kabob spot. The food came out quickly, as we were one of only three parties in the restaurant. We had the beef, lamb, squid, and New Orleans style wings. The lamb was my favorite, with excellent seasoning and flavor. Next was.the beef, which I really enjoyed as well. The wings were not what I expected. Maybe there is a New Orleans in China that I don't know of, because the flavor of the wings, while tasty, did not remind me of the bayou. I didn't try the squid, just because I've never cared for it. All in all we enjoyed this place for a quick snack, and I wouldnt.mind coming back for more! read more

Do you like meat? Yes? Go to Kabobs House. It's located next to Quickly near the Old Norcross Kroger Shopping Center. At the $-level, don't expect superb meat quality. You get what you pay for. However, everything is surprisingly tender and juicy, especially the lamb. I have tried the following kabobs (in order of preference): lamb, squid, fish ball, chicken, Qinqin sausage, beef, and mushroom pork belly. Honestly, other than the mushroom pork belly, I think everything is delicious. There are some people who love the mushroom pork belly, but I hate the smell for some reason... In addition to a variety of meat kabobs, Kabobs House has an assortment of vegetable sides, soups, noodles, and dumplings. Again, everything is a reasonable price, so don't worry too much. I prefer to get about 5+ kabobs and one carb (vegetable, bread, etc.), so I don't overload on meat. Note: the table has to order at least 5 kabobs at a time. There's plenty of booth-style seating, and the table service is decent, considering the guy appears to be working alone (and people tend to make orders throughout their meal). However, the food does take a while to come out, so if you already know everything you want, just order it all at once. Note: there's a $10 card minimum, so if you don't plan on ordering too many items, bring cash. This place is probably one of my favorite cheaper eats in Duluth, so I highly recommend it to anyone in the area. read more

Me and my gf was getting boba next door when we saw Kabobs house. It looked pretty nice from outside so we decided to give it a try. First thing we noticed when we went in was how empty it looked. It was 730 on a Friday night and you think there be more people there right? You can see the chef cooking the food in the kitchen which was pretty cool. The chef is also the person that owns quicklys next door. Service: 2/5( he was nice, but uh.....) Our waiter seated us promptly as we entered . He didn't really speak English very well, but well enough to place our order. He seemed kinda nervous the whole time, and we got the impression that he never worked as a waiter before. He forgot to ask us if we wanted to drink anything and never took the menu after we ordered. He even placed the food on the menu when it came out. They also messed up our order and gave me the same soup my gf ordered when asked for different combination. It was taking a while for him to trying fix it, so i just ate it. He was very apologetic which made it better. Food: SOUP BOWL: -1/5 Kabobs: (2.5/5) The most important thing at a restaurant is obviously duh food. I don't care if the service is SHIT. If the food is cheap, plentiful, and tasty then everything is good(last 2 most important lol). Sadly, most of the food was crap. IDK if we ordered the wrong thing or what, but the soup was WACK as F***. We ordered 2 soups for about 13 bucks total. I wanted this to be the bulk of the meal. it had choices of 2 meats and 3 veggies. I ordered the beef, meat balls, cabbage, tofu, and seaweed. The bowls that we got were so pitiful. There was one skewer with a piece of meat 2 inch long. There was only 1 meat ball cut in half. THATS RIGHT 1 F***** BALL. 6-7 thin pieces of cabbages 4-6 tofu and NO SEAWEED. I MEAN ARE YOU KIDDING ME? what the utter crap is this??? how can they charge 7 dollars worth of food for stuff that cost less then 50 cents?!?!? They told me not to drink the broth cause its pretty spicy: at least there was soup right?!?( YA FUCK NO) THERE WAS NO FOOD IN THE BOWL. And i was NOT exaggerating about the amount of food in that bowl, it really was NOTHING. VERY Disappointed KABOBS were pretty tasty. For about a dollar and a half a piece it was pretty worth it. The squid was good too. We ordered Cow penis which was pretty good actually. All in All kabobs was average, worth how much i paid for. A place that serves comparable food is the Northern China Eatery in Buford. They have dumplings, and all the other little eateries here too. I think i might have ordered the wrong food this time, but still, it is blasphemous that they would give us nothing for 7 bucks a bowl. I AM VERY ANGRY ABOUT THAT BOWL. I will NEVER forget this. TL:DR NEVER ORDER THE BOWL. Service was friendly, but he didn't know what he was doing. Kabobs were tasty. Price was fair on some of the stuff o ya.... NEVER ORDER THE BOWL. I WONT BE COMING BACK....but i will for bubble tea :) read more

We ended up here because the vegan place we wanted to try was closed. This place happened to be in the same shopping center. It was lunch time and I was a bit concerned since we were the only people there. Also, since we are vegans we were not sure what would be safe to get. It was also difficult to communicate with the server. We inquired if we could order a meat dish but substitute the meat with extra veggies. He told us that this would not be possible. I was almost ready to go but my wife convinced me to order a few things that we knew would be safe. So we ordered a few veggie kabobs (cauliflower and eggplant), a rice a tofu dish and the Hot and Numbing Vegetable Spicy Pot. The kabobs came out first and we were blown away. The spices and salty flavor mixed with the char were amazing. For me the eggplant was a bit slimy but the flavor was great. Next dish out was to tofu and rice. Again the flavor as terrific. However they used a softer tofu. I think they should have used a firm tofu and seared it a bit. Last out was the Hot and Numbing Vegetable Spicy Pot. This was a flavor explosion of fried vegetables and tofu. It was very spicy and salty. If you do not like salty dishes don't get this. However, if eaten with the awesome sticky rice, the flavor levels off a bit. I believe that is the intention. I am giving this place 4 stars for two reasons. The service is not spectacular and the server told us that they could not deviate from the menu choices. We don't expect restaurants to bend over backwards to accommodate our vegan diet but typically most Asian restaurants are able to easily make substitutions. I was shocked that it was a flat out no, especially since they were not busy. Criticism aside, we experienced some amazing flavors. I am happy that my wife talked me into staying as we discovered something pretty spectacular. Can't wait to go back and try some other items. read more

Tasty noodles, spicy hot pots, soups, and of course... kabobs at this medium sized cafe in Duluth. Kabobs House is located across from Kroger and next to Quickly in the plaza on the corner of Old Norcross Road and Steve Reynolds Boulevard. The tables are large enough here to seat groups of 4-6 (maybe even more if you don't mind squeezing into a booth). There's a window to the kitchen where you can see the chefs working, although the window is high enough that you don't actually see the food being prepared. Highlights: In comparison to other Chinese kabob restaurants in Atlanta, this place has a very diverse menu. There are three types of dumplings you can order - pork with shrimp, beef with leeks, and lamb with zucchini. I tried the lamb and zucchini dumplings, which had a soft outer shell of appropriate thickness. The filling was tasty too - the lamb and zucchini were both well seasoned and well blended - it exceeded my expectations. The spicy hot pots are dry and come in mini woks. There are a variety of meats you can choose with your hot pot, which are stir fried with Asian dried chili peppers, cilantro, and green onions. My favorite dish was actually the salted pie with meat, which I only ordered because I saw another table get it. Distinct from the meat pie, which is meat wrapped in dough, the salted pie consists of strips of dough cooked with egg, cabbage, and pork (optional). From the name, you wouldn't think to order it, but if you're looking for something like a noodle dish which is a bit different, I highly recommend it. The noodles and hot spicy pot will be greasy, but that's typical with this style of Chinese cooking. Critiques: I actually liked the noodles, dumplings, and hot spicy pot better than the kabobs. The lamb kabob wasn't bad, but it was a little dry and not as well seasoned as I've eaten in other places. Some of the beef pieces in the hot spicy pot were a little too dry. Overall: Tasty Chinese dishes - I'd actually recommend the non-kabob items more than the kabob items. But the kabobs are definitely fine as appetizers to accompany the rest of the items here. read more

Best place I've been with Chinese Northern style of food. Was already impressed by the decoration of the place right after we walked in. We ordered some lamb, beef, chicken wings, and shrimps. The food reminded of my homeland China, I mean the chief made the food in right Chinese way. Probably is the best place where people can find kabobs in Atlanta. Also have to mention about our waiter. He could take care of all tables during the most busiest time, which really impressed us. There were 8 tables and he was fine to take care all of them. Most consumers seemed fine for us. Server was nice and patient. He helped and gave us advices about what to order. Overall 5stars out of 5 read more

No one has mentioned the sour and spicy rice noodles!!!! This is literally the first place in the US that I have been to that serves them. I would eat this every day for lunch when I lived in China and I was so happy when I saw it on the menu. The noodles are the black chewy kind used in nanmyeong which I love, the broth is a little oily but the perfect level of spice, and the level of vinegar is also perfect. This dish is not for you if you do not like black vinegar or a little sourness in your dishes!! Otherwise it will blow you mind. It's also cheap at ~$5 a bowl. Their kabobs were good too haha about $1 a skewer and service was fast! It's cool because you can see the couple in the back cooking your skewers through the window they have to the kitchen. Everything is very authentic and it is located in the same plaza as a Kroger. read more

I wanted to grab something that would fill me up for a while, compared to the popular snack shop next door. The pan-fried bun made for a nice appetizer, but keep in mind it's just the bread itself to nibble on. For my entree, I ordered the meatball and rice dish, which included a light salad and some corn. At first, I thought this was a particularly small portion, but I gave it a go anyways. The "black sauce" glazed over the meatball soaked the rice in a delicious, bold, and warming aroma. The meatballs were not like spaghetti meatballs where it was relativly dry inside, or thick like pho meatballs. A little larger than a golf-ball, you could bite into half of one and stick it in some rice and sauce. The taste was not overwhelming, yet not subtle, either- just right. The salad and corn on the side helped to take a pause and give my taste buds a break. The inside of the shop was very modern, looked homey, and clean. Service was awesome and on-point. Go give them a try. read more

I am here right now. Came in at 11:08 I just got my food at 11:55. All I order was chicken fried rice & 2 kabobs. I waited until 11:49 to ask about my food. All of the sudden it was like magic my food finally came out! All the other customer who had came about 15 min before me had their food. The place is dirty, understaffed, & the guy who taking order (blond hair asian) he was saying it's busy but yet seem to have time to play on this phone. He didn't clean up after other well. I cannot believe I forgot to write a review of this delicious hidden gem! One of the few places that is open late at night (it was past midnight) we were lucky to stumble across this fantastic restaurant when visiting Duluth for a concert. This place is LEGIT! Their food is fresh, flavorful, and such a wide variety of tasty options. I haven't had great seared and grilled Chinese meats since I last ate in Chicago's Chinatown. We had the spicy beef hot pot and a variety of kebabs (e.g., chicken, beef, squid.... OMG squid, lamb) and various veggie options. The menu items are priced at such a great price that it's difficult not to be a glutton and order EVERYTHING. I'm planning another trip for a concert in Atlanta so we're definitely going to try our DAMNEDEST to venture up to Duluth to visit again. Omg.... just thinking about their meats is making me so hungry!! read more

I have been wanting to try this place for a while. I was not impressed, unfortunately. I had a nice assortment of kebabs: lamb, pork rib, chicken, squid, eggplant, beef, and fried rice. The kebabs were very small (I wasn't expecting massive kebabs but I was disappointed). The food, while not bad, was nothing special. The flavors were a bit boring (lots of cumin) and the meat was dry. People are saying this place is cheap, but for me this is far from it. Yes, each kebab ranges from $1 to $5 or so, but unless you are a small child, you'll probably want to get at least 5. For late night snacks and beer this might be a good place. The service was good, a bit slow, but again, nothing terrible. I was a bit shocked to see a score of 80/100 but maybe I shouldn't have been. Overall this place is not bad, but I would not say that it's fantastic. I might come back if it's super late and I just need something to eat, but if it's that late then I'm more likely to go to a 24h tofu house. Again, for the price/quality I am disappointed. However since it's independently owned I might come back if my other option is something like Mcdonalds or Arbys or whatever. read more

So one of my sons recommended this place for the noodle beef soup. I didn't want soup so I ordered kung pao chicken. Sorry to say it was the worst I've had in my life. My other son ordered chicken teriyaki and it looked identical to mine. It was a mountain of chicken but just as bad. The appearance of the chicken looked odd. Rubbery and slimy looking. My husband ordered a noodle soup with different organs. I wouldn't dare try it. He said it didn't have much flavor so he added the condiments that were on the table. Needless to say most of the food was left on the plate except the rice. We ate that. We ended up going to the store and bought our favorite organic cereal to go back home to eat. Sad story. Would I go back? I don't know, maybe for the soup that my son recommended. We also tried the chicken, beef and lamb kabobs, those were good but quite tiny. Personally I wouldn't spent a lot of money on kabobs. To begin with, we were very hungry and we waited quite a long time for the food and it wasn't even busy on a Thursday night. Visit at your own risk I'd say. read more

My bf loves this place except for its price - - Went there this morning but the server did not take care of us well, and the wooden chair is very uncomfortable... If you do not want to spend too much money, you will need to order some noodles or pastry. (if you order these, you can control the price at around $20 per person, if you only order grilled kabobs, you will spend more than $30+ per person). My friend suggested lamb soup, and my bf loves the pan-fried salted pie with vege. We also tried the roast cold noodles, did not like it because the weird sweet taste. For the grilled kabobs, we suggests lamb tendon kabob, jumbo squid, Chinese chives, eggplant, and cauliflower. A very good place to have Chinese BBQ :) read more

Wow, my new favorite spot to get authentic northern style Chinese food. I grew up eating this kind of kabobs in my home town and the only place in the US I ever had this kind of flavor was in NYC. See through windows that allow you to inspect what your chef is doing at all times. My lamb and beef kabobs were cooked just right. The meat was tender and the fatty part was juicy and flavorful. I also enjoyed the beef dumplings. I was very impressed to know that the wraps were hand made. Service was also great. I have been here three times in two weeks. Just a word of caution, don't order take out kabobs. I think they use a different crop of meat or the ones we got were precooked and then overgrilled...very dry, taste nothing like when we ordered in. The service is ok. If you don't bother them, they don't bother you. It's like a family/friends run restaurant. Sometimes i see their (temp) cook smoke and spit outside the restaurant. So hygiene is a concern for me. Regular place to hang out. Good price, good food. Open late is another plus. Authentic Chinese food.

This place is my friends and I go to place for a late night snack. As soon as we are done with work or classes, we end up always being here. I discovered this place about 5 months ago, and I have no regrets. Firstly, the food there is absolutely amazing. Not only is it extremely affordable, but their kabobs are on point. Whenever I go, I always happen to get the same thing for my midnight snack. 5 lamb kabobs with a side bowl of rice. I have only tried the lamb, beef, and qinqin sausage. I have also tried their bigger menu items such as their rice dishes and fried rice, and those are pretty good as well. You have the option of choosing between whether you want them spicy, and yes they are spicy, or no spicy. Choose the spicy option! It really brings out the flavor of the kabobs. Also, as for service. I can just say that there are some folks who work there who aren't the nicest at customer service, or don't check up frequently, and then there is one guy who works there who is very nice, and always has everything down. I have read other reviews about this place, and some of them mention the smell of smoke, oh boy, that is sure one thing that makes me feel a little iffy about this place, but that won't stop me from going. Side note, if you plan on just coming to get a light snack, I would recommend bringing cash because minimum purchase is $10 on card!!! read more
