The actual business name is Xibei Lanzhou Beef Noodles (西北家宴 兰州牛肉面) inside the Jusgo Duluth Food Court, bringing halal-certified, hand-pulled noodles and one of China's most viral dishes--Da Pan Ji (大盘鸡 / Big Plate Chicken)--to the heart of Gwinnett County. While I eat their famous dish here, I will more often order their thick handmade noodles simply with oil, noted as their Hot Oil Noodles. This is because, for me, these noodles are tha focus and everything else is secondary. I heard from a friend that Jusgo's food court has a new Lanzhou Noodle spot, so I brought my parents to give it a try. We started with the Roujiamo (Chinese burger) -- it was decent, with a nice crispy bun and flavorful filling. The cold sliced beef was on the salty side with a bit of spice; my parents also felt it was a bit overpriced and not quite to our taste. We ordered the classic Lanzhou noodle soup, which had a decent broth though a bit on the lighter side, and the beef slices were quite limited considering it was around $14. The braised beef noodle soup was better -- the broth was richer and spicier with some beef brisket, which we all preferred. Still, the amount of brisket was minimal. Honestly, when you compare it to places like Yes Formosa, the portion sizes here just don't stack up. Overall, it was an okay experience, but nothing that really stood out. read more
