I bought Dunlop Sport A2's for my Miata at this shop in 2003. The service afterward was very good, with free rotation and balancing, and flat repairs. But my problem began when my tires, guaranteed for 50,000 miles, wore out at 29,000 miles.
I went back to Just Tires to buy a new set of Dunlops and to claim the credit on my warranty. The counterman looked through his computer and said that the Dunlops were no longer made. Moreover, he had nothing for the Miata in its standard size, 185/60-14. After a lot of searching he recommended I try Dunlop A20's in a slightly different size. He also mentioned that I would get $20 per tire for my worn out Dunlops.
I went home and researched the A20's and discovered that they were not a performance tire for a sports car. So I researched other tires for the Miata and came up with several choices. I went back to Just Tires and asked if they could get me one of those tires. They said they could but that my credit would no longer apply because "they had to order the tires." This seemed strange since they also had to order the A20's. The explanation was that the tires I wanted were not tires that they regularly carried, so it was a special order and they couldn't make any profit on it. So they couldn't offer me the credit. ???
Without the credit, there was no good reason to buy from Just Tires. So I found the tires I wanted, Michelin Pilot Exalto's at Costco for much less than Just Tires wanted and with an even better service plan.
I wrote to Just Tires' national headquarters and asked for my credit. I received an answer from Goodyear, who owns Just Tires, and they refused a credit because I no longer had the old worn out tires. I pointed out that the Pasadena dealer had agreed that the tires were worn out but Goodyear just kept saying no.
As I see it, Just Tires should have carried replacement tires of suitable quality and type that fit my Miata. The fact that they didn't have anything shouldn't have allowed them to cancel the credit they owed me for the prematurely worn out tires. Just Tires ripped me off, and I will never do business with them again.
One last detail. Costco didn't do alignments so they recommended that I take my car to Just Tires in Arcadia, much farther away than the Pasadena dealer. So the Costco people likely also know of the problems with the Pasadena store.
