I am SO grateful for HYARCS, and to my dad for introducing me to them, decades ago! I trust them, absolutely. Highly skilled & knowledgeable, they've always rapidly diagnosed my issues and shown great care with my beloved Jeep. I appreciate that they take the tome to answer my questions and explain things -- as a woman who does not know cars, I'm usually wary of mechanics. But they are COMMUNITY. They treat customers like neighbors they want lasting relationships with. It takes away a lot of stress when dealing with people who wear their integrity, out in the open. They do all my smogs, and are very accessible when something suddenly goes wrong. Just today, woke up to a missing gas cap & engine light on. I immediately drove there, they diagnosed the problem and had me sorted in MINUTES. Same last month (?) when my car started breaking down while I was driving -- a busted, cracked radiator was the diagnosis, and my Jeep was running perfectly again by next day. I love the new location, too! It's so much better than the Colorado auto complex--this is open, airy, kinda art deco and has really good vibes in a neighborhood suited to their traffic. My dad was an excellent judge of character. They take as good care of me, as they did of him. Excellent value, and they REALLY know cars. All kinds. They had no problem going through the CARB Program, and walked me through all the steps that it required. Once the diagnostic was in, they once again walked me through everything and gave me their recommendations. When we decided to not fix the vehicle, they gave me pointers on next steps. I had taken my 2013 Honda Fit to a Honda dealer for an oil change. Without introducing himself, the service advisor began a computer search on my car and started writing up several other big jobs -- without really explaining their necessity -- that really ran up the bill. This was the end of the day and I was not feeling comfortable with all this, so I just had the oil change done and left. I knew I had brakes that needed repair. My husband has been using Hyarcs for years so I took the risk of trying his independent auto repair shop. I am so glad I did. Edward, the manager listened to my concerns, then showed me how the tread was really worn on my two front tires to the point of not being safe. Then he showed me with a little mechanical gadget that lighted up red in the brake fluid showing it was way past the need to be changed. Then he used a mirror gadget to show me how the rotor on my brakes had to be changed -- another $240 -- but a necessity because the brake pads had worn off and metal was scraping metal. So, by working with Edward at Hyarcs, I got more repair work done for less money than at the dealer. Had to brake so hard on my commute home I smelled rubber burning and heard the brakes groaning the next day. I wasn't able to take it into a repair shop until a couple weeks later, where I brought it to the dealership at first. And so began the three day headache. Dealership charged me $200 to diagnose the issue and then wanted to charge my $1500+ for just the brakes and their attached issues... Don't get me started on the other things they suggested. I had dropped it off on Saturday and the employee told me she could get started on the car on Tuesday, because they needed to order the parts. (Why doesn't the car dealership have the parts? I brought my car there bc I thought they'd be able to fix it the same day!) But I am not a car person and thought the estimate was a normal amount. Spoilers, it isn't. (Thanks mom for talking sense into me.) I scoured Yelp for a bit and then found this place. Called this morning (Monday), drove the car from the dealership to here, and got my car fixed in less than 12 hours for a third of the price that the dealership wanted to charge me. Edward was super helpful in detailing the charges, parts, labor, potential costs, etc. He even showed me the messed up rotors and brake pads afterwards, and taught me about what was wrong. (Always love to learn new things!) He had great communication throughout the entire process, and relieved so much headache, stress, and anxiety. Look, I STILL don't know what an acceptable price is for replacing rotors and brake pads and whatever else was required. But I know that Edward got it done fast, with excellent customer service, and was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the process. Thank you SO much. read more

I towed my 2010 - 4runner Toyota to Toyota of Glendale (dealership) after it stopped running in a parking lot. They got it running again but I had 3 lights (check engine, trac control, and 4lo flashing) that came on the next day after leaving the dealership. I took it back to the dealership at least 2 more times and they kept trying to diagnosed more problems and attempted to charge me more to fix these other issues, even attempted to charge me for another diagnostic test because they said "the issue is unrelated to what was fixed." I literally felt like these "advisors" were gaslighting me the whole time and I felt helpless because my car knowledge is basically next to nothing. I had already paid $3K to fix the fuel pump from the dealership (which was told by friends that was an absurd amount to charge). I would have gladly be satisfied if my car was fixed. However, it wasn't. I was not going to pass smog check. The advisor from Toyota even told me "It's fine, you can still drive the car." I was so mad and distraught about the whole situation. I left Toyota knowing that they were not going to help me and I was not going to give them anymore of my money. I also didn't know any trustworthy car repairs shop so I just drove the car around until I had to get a smog check. I finally decided to go to Hyarcs auto repair and after Edward did a thorough diagnostic, found that the seal between the fuel pump and the fuel tank and installed improperly causing a pinch while caused an "EVAP leak" message. He fixed it and none of those lights have came back on for months now and my smog passed! He could only speak for his findings and work and did not want to burn the dealership but it is blatantly obvious because TOYOTA REPLACED the damn fuel tank. Anyway, to end my rant, I just wanted to thank Edward for FIXING MY CAR, not gaslight me and actually did the job. He spoke in laymen terms that I can understand. I know that he is passionate about a job well done. Everything has been running smoothly since then and I have not been having anxiety driving my car around. I know that I will be coming to Hyarcs auto repairs for all the car issues from now on because I know I will be taken care of honestly. read more

My 2014 BMW 528i with 150k miles just now (05-30-2020) had the following services performed. Tune up, transmission service, coolant flush and parts, and intake service. Jobs completed over the course of two days. Professional, informative, and excellent in customer service. Friendly and honest. Hakop invites me to my car while the service is being performed about a plastic part that will fail once the coolant service starts. OMG! This place really is five stars! Thanks, Yelp, for guiding me to the best auto repair shop! I failed my smog test at a test-only location down the road, so I had to find another place to do actual repairs. Hyarcs' excellent reviews and responsiveness to reviewers convinced me to give them a try. When I came in to drop off my car, I signed off on a quote for the initial diagnostic. Days later, Edward called to inform me that he'd discovered the problem was due to a faulty sensor. He quoted a fair price, I think, to replace it (at least it was $200 less than what another place charged to replace a sensor last time the check engine light came on about eight years ago [although it's possible it could have been another different sensor the first time?]), and his repairs fixed the problem (unlike the other place eight years ago that, after charging $200 more than Hyarcs to replace a sensor, still failed to resolve the check engine light, which they later said was actually due to a wire short-circuiting against a door panel or something like that and not the expensive sensor they'd replaced). My car has now passed on retesting. On top of all of this, Edward explained everything really thoroughly, which helped put me at ease throughout the process. Overall, I give them five stars. Highly recommend to everyone and will absolutely come back for future automotive work. Thanks, Hyarcs, for solving the problem with my car and for the wonderful experience! *Editting to add that my dad has since told me that Hyarcs replaced a pressure sensor near the gas tank and the other place eight or so years ago replaced a sensor for ABS and traction control. So it was indeed a different sensor. But my experience with Hyarcs is still five stars, and I'm relieved to now have them as a place in mind for any future automotive needs. :) read more

My a/c was not as cold as before so I bought one of those do-it-yourself recharge cans from the store and watched a YouTube video and thought I'd done good. The next day my a/c was warm and it was one of the hottest weekends of the year so I went to Hyarcs and they were so cool. They totally helped me out, fixed my a/c and got me back to being cool. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE for all your auto repair needs. They were so nice and professional. And the best part is they didn't rip me off like so many people are afraid of with mechanics. If I could leave NO stars I would. I took a beautiful BMW 530i in for a coolant leak to Hakup & Jack who I think is the owner. I had been driving the car for years & always took care of it getting regular maintenance and never had any major problems. After working on the car Hakop commented that my "car was in EXCELLENT condition" and also said "You can drive it anywhere, your engine is in great condition."I was charged $900 for the coolant leak repair. The check coolant light continued to come on so I returned to the shop within a few days, Hakop said this was normal, refilled coolant and sent me on my way. The light continued to come on so I retuned 3 days later. Jack told me to have a seat, about 15 min later he said he found 2 hoses leaking the coolant, he would order them and I could return in the morning. I asked why he wouldn't have connected new hoses in the first place and he said he "you never know what parts a new part will effect" I said it wouldn't be fair to pay another labor charge for the same issue I already paid for, he said he wouldn't charge labor. He sent me on my way. That night my car began smoking profusely as I drove home. I pulled over into a parking lot where I rushed out grabbing what I could, it bursted into flames and the fire department had to come and put it out. I was fortunate to have survived. read more

I discovered Hyarc's after doing a quick internet search in need of a same day Smog check and air conditioner service for my Prius. On the phone, Edward was friendly, knowledgeable, and clear with communication and costs which was matched when he serviced my car. Upon unclogging the pipe to fix my leaking air conditioning, he discovered a larger problem which involved a dead mouse who before passing was inhabiting the hood/dash of my car causing all types of problems. Long story short, Edward serviced my car meticulously (disassembling my dash into tons of pieces to clean all the mouse residue, disinfecting the entire vehicle, cleaning the air conditioning system, .... ) He facilitated various inspections with my aaa insurance provider which made the car restoration process efficient and smooth. It's probably Saturday and they are busy. They will charge $130 for check up what's wrong. I've already told him the power steering wheel is hard when the car is cold. Update: I receive a call right after I posted my review. The good thing is the owner does care about their reputation. He was very upset. "Did you post a negative review just because I didn't work for free?" To be honest, if he spent a few more minutes talking to me than the time spent responding to my review I won't post negative review. I didn't expect you to work for free but sharing your knowledge about the problem won't cost you anything. Maybe I should pay for him just talking to me. I went to another shop afterwards. I was told it's likely the power steering fluid is low. I can add myself. If the problem still exists the pump might need to change. That's helpful and only takes less than 3 min. Anyway. He will quote you a small margin below dealer service rates just to get your business and adds miscellaneous parts and services after. Last time I did business with him he quoted repairs to my car and when he found out the insurance made the check out for more he asked for the difference on the price we agreed and won't release my vehicle stating that money is his. I went here several months ago didn't think to write a review, but Yelp reminded me. After recently moving to the area, I started having weird issues with my car, driving funny and making an uncomfortable sound. It turns out that a screw had come loose and I was fortunate enough to get my car there before it fell out (he said the screw would have been difficult to find had it needed to be replaced for some reason). There was also just a piece of plastic under the car hitting the tire causing the noise which could be mounted up out of the way of the tire. While some places could have taken advantage of something so simple, they did not overcharge me and were honest, which is a relief with auto repairs. I will definitely continue to go back here for my car repairs while I live in this area. read more
