Did the old bait and switch. Called Feb 12 at 9:12am and asked for the price for a synthetic oil change. Was quoted under $100. Then I asked for the A15 service and was quoted me $165. Was told to come in whenever. When my husband dropped off my car they jacked it up to $300. They said that they didn't hear me ask for the service when in fact the gentleman repeated my exact request. Take that for what it is EDIT to respond: There is no price posted. They did not tell me ANYTHING about the state of the coolant. They said in person to my husband that the coolant was $50 (without looking at my car). So operating the basis that the $165 was for an oil change??? (they said it was $90 something on the the phone), the additional math of the $50 doesn't add up to the number quoted in person. The numbers don't lie. Going to my hometown auto shop in OC instead. $145 for the same service. read more

I have a lot of angst about taking cars in to mechanics as a woman and saying, "Please check this car out and tell me what you think it needs," but I had a good feeling about this shop. They were friendly and fast. They looked at the dealer's list of necessary repairs, and told me which were necessary and which were not. Hey yelpers, I called Gabriel's to have my car looked at, I was certain it was something big. they said bring it in, I left it, they said $195 for checkup, but that it could be applied to the repair cost, we said yes and left it. Approximately an hour later they called and told us it was the transmission and it would be costly to fix ($7000), totally upfront and transparent with us, we appreciated that. We decided not to do the repair, and probably just get a new car, they waived the diagnostic fee of $195 which we greatly appreciated, and even though we didn't actually do any services with them, I totally appreciated their customer service and honesty with the customer. Everything went well! All of my lights turned on in my car at once (check engine, see manual, see tires etc) which was very strange. I took it to another mechanic and they didn't know why. I reached out to Gabriel's Automative and Ohan kindly scheduled a diagnostic immediately. After testing my car, they came up with the solution within the day. My notifications are now off (needed transmission oil and censors) thankfully. I took my car here after my husband raved about their service of his own car and fair prices. My VW Touareg had been leaking oil and I had already spent a pretty penny at the dealership. I knew what the issue was so I asked if they were able to quote me. Their price was fair, they were honest, and also transparent about potential incremental costs that might happen during the repair, too. I liked that. I dropped the car off the next day, and they fixed it within the next. My car is running so smoothly now with no oil burning smells (which is what happened after the dealership). This is my second experience coming to get a wheel alignment done at Gabriel's Automotive and let's just say I won't be coming back again. My first experience was great, I had no issues with getting my car serviced and was satisfied with the outcome, but I had made an appointment to bring my car into the shop today for an alignment expecting to have the same positive outcome like last time. I had my husband bring my car in for the appointment, but once he arrived he was bombarded with questions by whoever was working at the front to which then that person instructed my partner to drive my car around to see what the issue was with my alignment. My husband had already told the worker that my car's alignment is not straight but they still proceeded to tell my husband to drive my car around. This second experience left a bad impression for me because I am the customer and all I wanted was an alignment done for my car at the same time was willing to pay whatever the cost was to get that service done. If they were busy or did not have the time to do this service, they shouldn't have agreed with me at the arranged time to bring my car into their shop. Sad to say I will not be coming back to Gabriel's Automotive for future services. read more

Dealership wanted $7,000 for mechanical repairs to my MB E350. The car is almost 25 years old, so...that's a no. Went to Gabriel's and they immediately confirmed that half the "problems" cited by the dealership were not even problems. They fixed what actually needed fixing, the car now runs great, and it cost about a third of what I was originally quoted. Although that alone would be enough, I would also note that they are all super nice and very punctual about both delivering estimates and delivering the completed job. Made me think that I should up my game on how I run my own business. In sum, they are everything you are looking for in a mechanic shop but didn't believe still existed in the world after you moved away from the small town where everyone knew each other. If you are looking for a mechanic, try them first. If you are kind of okay with the place where you are going, try Gabriel's next time and compare. read more

Im just posting my experience. I brought my Honda civic in because my AC was no longer blowing cold. The service for refill was $380 I think. No less than $320, that I know. They "refilled" my AC and it worked for about two weeks and then it started blowing hot air again. I went back during business hours and waited because no one opened at the time they said they would be opened. They never came. It was 11 am. I then took my car to the dealer to check it out and they said there was no frion in it. They refilled it and has been working ever since. I don't know if I was scammed or this shop did something wrong but just FYI. read more

No service was attempted on my vehicle but I'd still like to talk about the experience here. Found them when I did an online price quoting with Yelp. I texted with Ohan online and let him know that I needed wheel alignment service for my Rivian R1S. He quoted not the best but a decent price, assured me they can do service on Rivians, in a roughly 2 hour time frame for alignment. Ohan wanted me to drop off in the morning but I made an appointment at noon since I needed my vehicle in the morning and thought that a 3 hour window should be plenty of time to get them to work on the car. Just needed my car back 3ish to pick up my kid. When I arrived 20 min early, there were bunch of cars on the lot and it seemed like they are running behind on the work they promised. I dropped off the car anyways thinking that he was aware of me coming in with an appointment and not a walk-in. I walked around the area for 2 hours, watching the location of my vehicle with my phone and noticed it had not moved for the entire time. It was just sitting there and nothing was done. I went back and asked Ohan at 2pm to make sure they can still complete the work at 3PM, initially he said, "Sure boss, it should be done at 3PM." I said ok and I sat down and continue to wait. He went on to answer few phone calls and then asked me if I needed back by 3pm for sure. I said yes because I needed to pick up my kid. He then went to pick up my car and came back telling me he cannot do it because I was rushing him, also because that this is a difficult vehicle and he needs more time. I said I gave you the time you need and then some but yet you are telling me you need more time? You knew the type of car that is coming in, if you cannot do it within the timeframe you quoted me then I would not have made arrangement to come in. Needless to say I was very disappointed with their organization and their professionalism. I don't think I would trust them with my vehicle after they pulled something like this. I gave them 2 stars because at least I did not loose money on them just wasted 3 hours of my time and got nothing accomplished. read more
