I contacted the owner and he said that he gave me a verbal quote and then said he gave me better pads( which is not reflected on the invoice or told to me prior to the work was done) and then went back to he gave me a verbal quote for the difference in price. The verbal quote he told me he gave was not even the price he charged me. Overall the service was good and quick. The quoting and charging was my issue. I will take ownership that I didn't inspect the final invoice before paying but I still think that the business owner should have honored his original quote and if an upgraded part was used and was billed (according to the owner) then should be approved beforehand.

It's one of the best decisions I have made this year. Will was able to come out with a day or so and run a diagnostics check, quickly locating the issue and showing me the results. He explained to me what the issue was, discussed options, gave me a full quote and a price - highly competitive. With me agreeing to what needed to be done, he ordered the part (Saturday) and came back the next day (Sunday) to install it. Incredibly helpful and so polite, he showed me the new part, walked me through what he was going to do and afterward even showed me the part he removed and explained the wear and why it was actually perfect timing. Within hours I was up and running again, good as new. I have NEVER had service like this from a dealership in all my years of being a car owner and driver (and that's several decades). Will also flagged other things that I needed to be aware of (including needing an oil change - which I will be getting him to come and do) but at no point pushed for me to do them there and then - zero pressure, just guidance. He repeatedly asked if I had any questions and was keen for me to understand what was happening and why - superb! He even cleared up the work area after he'd finished. Flawless. Aside from the convenience and Will just being an incredibly nice guy, his attention to detail and service are second to none. Friendly and knowledgable, he works hard to make sure you understand what he's doing, and is professional and polite at every step along the way. My family and I went on a cross country road trip and got into an accident when an antelope came out of nowhere. My car was taken to Silver Lake to see what the time frame on the repair would be but since we were only out there for another week, we decided to get the work done back at home (which is all the way across the country in PA). Although we decided not to get the work done at Silver Lake, Tony went above and beyond to help us out. We needed a place to keep the car so the transport truck could pick it up and when we stopped by before we headed back home to organize some things, Tony was super accommodating and compassionate about out situation. Went to SCC for the first time this past week to have the spoiler on my tan 2005 Prius painted a gloss black (I had already removed it from my car and gave them only the spoiler itself). Not only did they do an excellent job painting it, they also charged a very reasonable price. While there, I had the distinct pleasure of meeting several of the guys who work there, especially Avo, George, Kenny, and Tony. They were all very friendly and professional. Hands down the best service I have ever had. From start to finish I was treated with care and honesty! They kept me informed every step of the way, and made all my concerns wash away. The best part though was when I picked it up, after my new car was hit by another car while it was parked, I thought that it would never be the same. Story time It was a Saturday night out celebrating a friend's birthday. I'm on the 210 West heading back home when tragedy struck. Saving the details of what happened, I can tell you that I was definitely planning on starving myself a few days so I can pay up at a dealership but I desperately took the chance to ask around this time. Out of the 5 shops I inquired, SGV Automotive was the only ones who shown genuine interest and care. David checked up on me to see if I was okay and we then scheduled for an appointment and luckily they were extremely flexible with my scheduling for a quick diagnosis and scheduled a timeline for expectations. I show up the very next day. Two gentleman comes up to me and immediately gets to work with diagnosing and communicating with me. I've never seen such transparency. From past experiences my expectation was: give the key, sit in a waiting room for an hour, debate about buying a snack, wait another hour for them to get started, then thrown with paperwork before knowing what even was the diagnosis. Current experience: communication, care, collaboration, education, reassurance, any most importantly transparency. They helped get me to a rental place and picked me up as well. Highly skilled & knowledgeable, they've always rapidly diagnosed my issues and shown great care with my beloved Jeep. I appreciate that they take the tome to answer my questions and explain things -- as a woman who does not know cars, I'm usually wary of mechanics. But they are COMMUNITY. They treat customers like neighbors they want lasting relationships with. It takes away a lot of stress when dealing with people who wear their integrity, out in the open. They do all my smogs, and are very accessible when something suddenly goes wrong. Just today, woke up to a missing gas cap & engine light on. I immediately drove there, they diagnosed the problem and had me sorted in MINUTES. Same last month (?) when my car started breaking down while I was driving -- a busted, cracked radiator was the diagnosis, and my Jeep was running perfectly again by next day. I love the new location, too! It's so much better than the Colorado auto complex--this is open, airy, kinda art deco and has really good vibes in a neighborhood suited to their traffic. My dad was an excellent judge of character. They take as good care of me, as they did of him. Excellent value, and they REALLY know cars. All kinds. It's a relief to have such a trustworthy mechanic -- we can't live without our cars, in SoCal! Highly recommend. Decades of service don't lie!
