This place is so amazing! My insurance recommended this shop for my car's damage, since they specialize in Teslas. My experience was great since I arrived. They kept me informed everyday of the progress and were on time delivering the car. The work was excellent. Everybody that works there were very nice and courteous . I will recommend this place!!! read more

Josue is the saving grace of Carstar Douglas. He is professional and I liked working with him. The moment he wasn't around and I had to talk in person and over phone with the manager Arshak I just felt belittled. Don't pay for your auto body work before you see your car. I made this mistake, waited around 1.5 hours, never got a call from them saying it would be ready until the next day..... Still when I came for pick up many details needed to be addressed. The manager Arshak was there on original pick up date, and said the paint issues, no polishing finish done, and other deficiencies were only minor. Minor for the price tag of 8k. He assured it would take 15 minutes only and could be picked up the same day. I called after waiting 1.5 hours, oops it would be ready the next morning. Who has time to go back and forth? Manager also suggested that they called my insurance company saying car was finished, it might be an issue for the rental. Who cares about the rental? I had other friends say CarStar was great, but it was other locations - Santa Monica, and Glendale. All in all, it was an adequate experience. I am happy with the final product and having my car back. Given I had to return 3 times. There is a lifetime warranty through insurance, and cash (only at this location). The 3rd visit was minor and only took 15 minutes which I was very happy about. I liked working with Josue, he is the only reason I choose this shop. They can improve with focusing on details of paint job and finish. quality control. Bring a friend/man/partner/husband/cousin in case Arshak manager gives the excuse that the issues were possible Tesla factory defects. or better yet, document your car before taking into them, due to over spray that needs to be corrected. They were kind and offered to bring the car to me, but I preferred to pick it up so I can inspect the work myself due to details that were not to my standard on the original pick up date. If they are working on the front left bumper, and repainting the whole bumper - you would think they would fill in all the rock chips for the whole bumper. Instead they only really focus on he front left where you were damaged. They leave the front right bumper rock chips still there. Why wouldn't they attend to the whole bumper if they are repainting it? read more

Thank you John for helping with my Tesla repairs! This body shop was amazing, I had gotten rear ended and this was my first time getting repairs and filing a claim with someone elses insurance. I was expecting it to be really complicated and take a long time, but employees explained the process so well and made me feel at ease John communicated with me through the entire 2 weeks and gave me updates on my Tesla Model 3. My car was as good as new by the end, and they even cleaned up my car and charged it full. It was those extra little touches that makes Carstar stand out for their amazing customer service. Thank you again! read more

Going to a body shop after stupidly denting my new car is as humiliating as a visit to the ER after stupidly piercing my hand with an icepick. The difference is that at CARSTAR Kenny Munoz took charge with competence, understanding and patience...and a smile. He took care of my car, and sent me home with a smile (the opposite of my ER experience). We are fortunate to have such a competent, professional resource in Pasadena. read more

Horrible job! My car was parked when someone decided to run into four parked cars and mine was the 3rd car hit. I brought it to the body shop last year Feb 2025. I complained about the gapping in the rear and from bumper when they "fixed" it and they told me i could return my car to get it fixed again they told me it would take "a few days". Honestly it looked like they didn't do anything and they kept it just to say they did. A whole year later and it bugs me so much how horrible they did! read more

After getting into a small fender bender, I chose CARSTAR Douglas Auto Body because of their certifications and great reviews, and they absolutely lived up to the hype. The entire staff was friendly, professional, and made the repair process quick and stress free. Kenny was my advisor and kept me updated throughout the entire process, which I really appreciated since communication can be hard to find at other body shops. The repair work was excellent, my car was handled with care, and everything was completed surprisingly fast. Their motto, "We don't just fix cars, we fix your car," truly feels accurate. Highly recommend! read more

Tl;dr: I've been to other shops in the area that were "Tesla certified", and this was BY FAR the best one and only one I would recommend. If you need auto work, please go here. You'll see what I mean. Excellent value. My husband recommended them to me, as he had a lovely experience. A "lovely experience" may sound odd, but again, if you need to get auto work, go here. They clearly have high standards for themselves. I recently took my car here for some body work. I was actually excited to go here, because I had a childhood connection; anyhoo, I got the story, as everyone was very nice and patient with someone way too interested in the history of the place. Great work in a timely manner. Hi Kenny! read more

Went to the place as was recommended by my insurance after a car break-in. Everyone was super friendly and the service was great. Everyone communicated what was going on very well and in a clear fashion. I wanted to especially give a shout out to Josue who helped me along the way and did a great job of communicating everything at each and every step. I also wanted to shout out Nazeli who was very friendly and accommodating at the front desk. Overall a great experience, despite the unfortunate car break in. John was my Collision Specialist and he is just a ray of sunshine! My Tesla was rear-ended on the freeway. The insurance company directed me to CarStar since they are experts in fixing Teslas. John first met with my husband for the consultation and I dropped off my car a week later. We both agreed that John is just the most pleasant person ever. Love his demeanor and how he explains the process. Someone from the company dropped me off at Enterprise for my rental. Enterprise was not picking up their phones. They even helped me return it so I didn't have to deal with it. 5 stars for customer service! John provided updates during the process. They made my car better than new! Not only did they fix my dent but they buffed all the other minor scratches, washed my car, and even cleaned the mats that were destroyed by my 3 year old. Will definitely be a repeat customer. They did an exceptional job of repairing the left side of the bumper on my 2019 VW Atlas 4motion, which had been damaged in a minor accident involving the left side corner. Although I was initially stressed about this incident, particularly given that we had purchased the vehicle on June 17 of the previous year and experienced an incident hitting the bumper just weeks after we purchased my SUV, I was fortunate to have a best friend who owns a Tesla recommend this establishment. The entire process went smoothly and met our expectations, and we were impressed by the friendly and kind service. I highly recommend that everyone visit this place, and I am grateful for the outstanding work and exceptional service they provided. read more

I recently brought my car to Carstars Douglas in Pasadena after a pretty serious accident. The entire left rear body frame needed to be cut, repaired, and welded back to the car. The rear bumper had multiple dents, and the left rear tail light had to be completely replaced. It was definitely repairable, but I knew it would be a time-consuming job. To my surprise, Kenny and his team finished everything in just two weeks. Honestly, that felt like a miracle. They saved me so much time (and money) by reducing how long I needed a rental car, and the repair even came with a lifetime warranty. Throughout the process, they were extremely responsive and updated me every Friday with clear progress reports. That level of communication made the whole experience stress-free. I highly recommend Carstar Douglas Pasadena--both personally and technically. They're fast, reliable, and genuinely care about the quality of their work. read more

I can't say enough good things about my experience with this auto body shop. From start to finish, they made what could have been a stressful situation so much easier. CARSTAR Douglas has a very professional team of technicians and office staff, who will work hard to make your auto repair experience smooth and stress-free. They make the process easy, whether you're working through an insurance company or out of pocket. You can get a free quote, and a rep will walk your through to explain everything in the quote in as much or as little detail as you prefer, down to lead time for parts and any installation challenges. They have a well-organized and spacious facility. There is a dedicated area on site for drop-offs and pick-ups, which even has a sign at the exit indicating which direction to turn for the freeway and surface streets. This area is decorated with a custom mural of the Pasadena area painted by local art students -- emphasizing that even though CARSTAR is a franchise, this location is a strong local business in the Pasadena community. There is also usually plenty of street parking for drop-offs. The different departments of the facility are clean, smoothly managed, and well-labeled. If you would like to visit your car while they're working on it to see progress, connect with your service rep for a walkthrough -- they are great about updates and transparency. When they're very busy, which is often, it can sometimes be hard to get a call returned promptly, so if you have to leave a message, I recommend calling back rather than waiting for a response. I worked with rep Kenny Munoz, who was helpful and thorough in his supervision of my car. Beautiful repair work, and with the included detailing job, my car looked like it was driving off the lot brand new! read more

My insurance claim recommended me to this shop for my 2018 Audi Q3 when it was side swiped and left this ugly dent and scrape of paint on the right side of my vehicle. The right side quarter panels were bent and door as well. There were some coordination that needed to be done in order for repair to be fully completed but Kenny and Arshak made sure that that my vehicle was completed to my satisfaction. It did take longer than expected and a lot of checking out small details to make sure my vehicle was put back together correctly. Overall since i was not limited by time I had a great experience! Do the following before any type of repair as this takes any guessing away from the end product: 1. Take overall pictures of your vehicle. This includes where the damage is at from the accident, back end of vehicle, right side (starboard), left side (port side), forward end of vehicle, and all of the interior of your car. This takes away any guessing out if some kind of dent or scratch arises after repair or if there is a misalignment of a part after a repair when the misalignment wasn't there upon turning over vehicle to repair shop. 2. When repair shop is completed fixing your vehicle take overall pictures again to document state of vehicle upon pick up in case you miss little details the day of and catch something off later on. 3. Upon pick up as well make sure your interior is put into place correctly, check that your windows open and close correctly, pretty much make sure your electrical components of your vehicle are functioning as they should. 4. At the end of the day communication is key. We aren't all perfect so if something is off just communicate with the repair shop with evidence and proof and the job will be done. read more

Professional, timely response time and good overall communications between calls and text messages. Original estimate was a full month to fix my car and then finished it just over 3 weeks. This shop was recommended by my insurance company and I have to say, my experience working with them was top notch from start to finish. Their repairs were roughly $10k less than another quote from a competing shop, so I think their pricing is fair and reasonable thought everything was handled through my insurance so I wasn't directly dealing with it. I truly felt taken care of the whole way through, and was given text message updates about the progress of my repair throughout the process. When my car was finally ready to pick up they had cleaned it fully inside and out which was a really nice touch because I was planning to get it detailed after the repair. This business is a class act, you can use them with confidence. read more

With a $9,8XX price tag, is Car Star Douglas a Tesla specialist? ABSOLUTELY NOT. 4.8 current stars on Yelp? Yeah, 0 stars from me, though I had to give 1 star for receiving my vehicle back. SERVICE AND ATTITUDE ALL POOR, CONTINUE READING AS A PERSON WHO DOESNT WORK HERE SO YOU CAN WEAR MY CURRENT SHOES ON THIS MATTER My two doors were replaced and I recently got my car back after a few weeks. I was so excited to drive the next morning only to find out the car wouldn't drive or even pickup my GPS location BECAUSE my car was stuck in "Service Mode" for an entire week!! I had to figure out how to deactivate it each time I drove the vehicle anywhere. Thank you, Car Star Douglas for turning my car into a road hazard! (SIDE NOTE: When I first dropped off the car, I was told by John that they will repair any dents or paint chips, I had one area, ONLY ONE the size of a trimmed pinky nail on the middle of my rear trunk. When I got my car back it wasn't fixed or even painted. It was just THERE AGAIN. I was actually given paint to paint it myself after an employee attempted to paint it himself, though I'm sure he's qualified to do this for me??) ALRIGHT, so I've finally gotten to driving my car for a week and have now notice their quality on a Tesla repair. My door trims are all crooked, my doors aren't properly aligned--in reference to the exact opposite side of my car. Just walk to the left side, take a glance, and then take a walk to right side taking a glance and compare the two sides! Can't you guys just match the other side during your quality jobs? I WILL INCLUDE SOME PICTURES FOR YELP WITHIN THIS REVIEW IF ANYONE WORKING HERE WAS CURIOUS Next is the door seal for water and road noise protection. My rear door seal was hanging off the bottom of the door--it wasn't fulled applied with a simple application. Yes, simple as pressing down on a sticker. (1 out of 5 stars for this job. It is such an easy task that protects the quiet comfort of a Tesla!! Am I asking for too much for basic repair work?) I only noticed this because of the excessive road noise on the street and freeway. I fixed it myself by pulling the weather strip off, trimmed some of it, YES I CUT SOME OF IT OFF, and reapplied it myself. Though I have no idea because I'm not TESLA CERTIFIED! They claimed someone personally drove my car on the freeway and vouched for their workmanship‍‍‍. IF THAT WERE TRUE, WHICH I BELIEVE TO BE TRUE, THEN THE GUY WHO DROVE MY CAR DIDNT PAY MUCH ATTENTION AT ALL OR DOESNT DRIVE A TESLA TO BE ABLE TO TELL A DIFFERENCE, OR, DOUBLE "OR," HE SPECIFICALLY HAD HIS MIND MADE UP TO LOOK FOR ONLY BLATANT NOISE. IF THIS WAS YOU, PERSON WHO SAT IN MY CAR, PLEASE GET BACK TO ME ABOUT YOUR DRIVE AND I'LL SHOW YOU MY OPPOSING SIDE OF THE CAR AS REFERENCE AS TO WHERE THE DOOR SEAL SHOULD BE APPLIED AND HOW THE NOISE DIFFERENCE IS ACTUALLY NOTICEABLE! Next is their 4 wheel alignment. Their specs are random numbers that don't look similar or symmetrical from the left side and right side. I've already contacted AAA to have my car REALIGNED at Tesla instead, because I'm sure asking for another 4 wheel alignment will only be sent to nowhere up in the food chain other than answered back with a "No." Tesla charges $275 for this job, and I am certain it's a darn better job than Car Star Douglas. Pictures will be provided for EVERY STATEMENT MADE IN THIS REVIEW I have yet to find other issues with their repairs since it has only been a week that I've spent with my car, SO THIS REVIEW WILL BE UPDATED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE ALSO, when I went to pickup my vehicle, I was told that I had to pay a deductible. AAA ALREADY SENT YOU GUYS THE MONEY WEEKS IN ADVANCE, SO IT IS UP TO YOU TO DO THE MATH AND REALIZE THAT THERE IS AN EXTRA $500 THERE! (AGAIN, my God, I feel I need to repeat this: IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE CORRECT FOR YOU TO DO OTHER THAN DO BASIC MATH for all clients picking up their vehicles? IT IS SUCH A SIMPLE TASK HERE!) So I first showed my text message received from AAA as proof and as my answer, I then showed an EMAIL from AAA as my second answer, I then had to hand over my phone for 10 MINUTES so she could "confirm" with my adjuster that the money has already been sent weeks in advance, ALL TO ONLY finally be told that I no longer had to pay a deductible. I just had to sit through all this W/ HER UGLYFACE AND ATTITUDE. FACT. I didn't oppose anything point zero zero zero one percentage. I willingly gave any and all info WITH a smile to this lady within seconds of her DEMANDS. EACH THREE LONG DAMN DEMANDS. I did my part perfectly and was left LEAVING CARSTAR with that atmosphere only to FIND MORE ISSUES FROM CARSTAR DOUGLAS--hence this damn essay of a review I feel like all of this is a joke, but it ain't. All these things happened, are listed here as facts, and I still need to return for their claim of service and quality!!! If you can't read and think about the 1 star reviews about this place, then you deserve to be a fan read more

Some complete idiot did a three-lane swipe from the 5 transition to the 110. I am lucky to be alive, but my Tesla 3 sustained a small injury. Good thing the car's built in cameras captured the transgression, the injury, and the perpetrator--plus their license plate--making a hasty getaway from the scene. USAA recommended Carstar and so I went with them. Certified to repair Teslas. Communication from day one was super clear. Josue made notes for anything he mentioned. Carstar Douglas has a strategy in that they order the parts first and then you drop the car off when the parts are in. This took a few weeks. I dropped the car off and Carstar helped coordinate with Enterprise to get me my rental car. The estimate was for about 18 days, with the possibility of an extra week. Carstar kept in touch via phone and text almost daily. FOUR DAYS LATER, I got a call that the car would be ready either the following day, a Friday, or Monday. It wound up being Monday. I got the car back a full eight days sooner than the best case scenario estimated, just a week after drop off. When I got there, Josue was touching up a few spots of sap that had appeared, himself. Not his job, but the level of pride here is undeniable. The car was in great shape, and I can safely say that Josue's customer service, follow-through, and communication was on-par with the finest institutions I've dealt with world-wide. Carstar Douglas Auto Body gets my highest recommendation. They will take care of you and your car. Now let's talk about getting some Porsche GT3 rental / loaner cars. read more
