Our family's Ford Explorer required a water pump replacement…read more I visited several local auto shops to obtain quotes and was shocked, disappointed, and discouraged at the prices I was being quoted for the work my vehicle required ($5,000-$7,500) Shame on me for not reading Yelp reviews before wasting my time visiting other auto shops. I read the many positive reviews for Hye-Tech Auto Repair and decided to visit them. Upon entering, I was greeted by John (owner) with a friendly, "Welcome, how may I help you?" I explained that my Ford Explorer needed a new water pump and a few other items that other auto shops had advised me would require repair or replacement. While John looked up a few items on the computer to provide me with a quote, he introduced me to his son, Harry, who happened to be in the office. Thirty seconds later, John provided a quote that was $3,500-$4,000 less than the other shops. I could not believe it. John explained that he makes his living and succeeds in his business through repeat customers, and he does not believe in gouging customers for every last penny. He also shared that when he retires, his son Harry will take over the business, and he wants to leave Harry with a solid foundation of loyal repeat customers. It was then that I knew I could trust John and his son Harry. John went on to explain that replacing the water pump on a Ford Explorer was a 10-12 hour job, as it was an internal pump requiring numerous engine parts to be removed to reach it. This was the same thing all the other shops advised me. John suggested that I leave my vehicle, and he would perform a full inspection of the engine and contact me before doing anything to it. I agreed and left my vehicle. The following day, I was contacted by John, who advised me that the water pump did indeed need to be replaced, as it was the source of the constant leaks of the water coolant. I left my vehicle in John's shop for three days. During this time, John or his son, Harry, contacted me numerous times to keep me updated on the progress of my vehicle and also to point out that mechanics had discovered two or three very inexpensive items (under $50.00) which they recommended replacing, which I agreed to have done. All in all, I was and am extremely impressed and satisfied with everything about this shop. I spent much less money to have five different issues repaired on my vehicle at Hye-Tech than what I was quoted to replace my water pump alone by every single shop I visited prior to coming to Hye-Tech. John and Harry are very friendly, honest, and trustworthy. They are also very knowledgeable and experienced, and they offer GREAT customer service and communication. It's nice to see you can get quotes at the touch of a button on your phone. This morning, I had time off, so I headed in to get my service done. I did not have an appointment and that did not seem to matter. I arrived first thing in the morning at 8 AM and ask if the service could be done. Harry was an exceptional young man, he took me in with no problems, no questions. He said they could do it this morning. I told him I would have to wait. He had no problem with that either. Prior to bring in the car in this morning, as I said, I used a yelp project and had several people reach out and give me quotes. After looking at all the yelp reviews I decided to give this place a try. I am super happy that I did. This place is a hidden gem, excellence, service, quality, and value for what you receive. There are not very many shops where you could feel comfortable and put your trust in them. As I spent time in the lobby, I was able to see customer service on the phone and customer service entering the facility. Absolutely the BEST!! Ed's Auto Clinic turned my nightmare into a mini-vacation:-) In the process of moving long-distance my Hyundai started shaking horrible on the freeway. My fiancée found Ed's by searching near the hotel I'd chosen. He couldn't be better located, was only 2 short blocks from a big cluster of hotels. And although they offer a free shuttle, it was super easy to just walk. I was able to bring my car right in after a quick phone call first thing in the morning, received a phone call back with an estimate just a couple hours later. The quote was very reasonable and he even had the tires I wanted on-hand. The best part was that knowing that I was just passing through and renting a hotel room until my car was finished, they were able to complete the repairs by noon the next day. I was on my way to LA to work on a project and broke down on the way.. I researched and found Eds Auto Clinic in Arcadia Ca... I read the reviews and decided that I would try them out... Extremely glad I did!!! My truck had major issues that needed an entire top end rebuild.. Ed was very fair with the cost and even found deeper issues that he shared cost with me... I couldn't be happier with He and Dave who did some incredible work.. everything works great and it even looked better than it did when I brought it in.. I noticed new parts that I wasn't expecting which will save me money in the long run... GO THERE!!!! You will not be disappointed for sure... Ed is the best mechanic I have ever had. He takes care of my car like if it was his own. I live in Victorville, Ca. I have tried to locate a mechanic close to where I live but they try to do things to my car that I don't need done. I have the mechanics up by where I live give me a list of what my car needs done then I drive to Arcadia and see Ed with my list. Most of the things they list my car does not need, they just want to take my money. Although it is a drive for me to go to Ed's it is well worth it. We were traveling on the freeway to Santa Barbara when our engine light came on and the needle was in the red. We quickly pulled off the freeway and realized our radiator hose had broken. AAA (which by the way the tow truck driver was AWESOME!) towed our car to Ed's Auto Clinic. Not only was Ed able to fully diagnose the problem he was able to obtain all the necessary parts ,repair, and we were back on the road in less than 2 hours. Eds is the best. To show how good he is I travel all the way from Victorville, Ca. to service my car. I was in need of a good and honest mechanic for my 98 Infiniti I30. Looked all around in Victorville but all mechanics were to costly. So my dad told me about Eds in Arcadia. He said that he trusts his own car to Ed rather then the dealer. I can highly recommend Ed's Auto Clinic. I had a damaged rim on my work truck the Friday before a major holiday. AAA had sent my towed vehicle over to a place that could not get the rim repaired, nor find a new one before the holiday. They tried for over an hour before the manager told me I should try Ed's Auto Clinic down the street. In less than an hour, Ed's Auto Clinic had my rim repaired, new tire mounted, and had me on my way for an incredibly reasonable price. Not many mechanics will do this, and we were lucky Ed was there in the morning. We had ended up having an alternator fail at 2 am, we quickly looked up who would be able to help us, and Ed's shop came up. We were able to get the van to his shop and he was able to get the van up and running first thing and even helped find an underlying issue which was the Tensioner pulley. Ed's Auto Clinic was excellent. The shifter cable broke on my car. I walked over and he recommended a tow truck who was a friend of his. He looked at my car and said the shifter was broken and he ordered a new one. I had to rent a car until my car was ready. The dealership told him it would take a week. So, he was able to fix the problem by modifying my shifter and saving me about $280. I am very happy with their service. read more

My driver-side rear view mirror was completely broken and my battery almost died. I dropped off my car at noon and I was able to pick it up the same afternoon. It was like magic happened to my car.
