I can't say enough positive feedback things about Prius Hybrid Repair Shop, Felix and his team. He's extremely knowledgeable about the 2ZR-FXE engine and recommendations to repair and maintain these Prius/CT200h cars. Felix walked me through the entire repair job and shared pictures along the way. Alongside that, he made recommendations of things I should do for further upkeep (OEM water pump, OEM thermostat) and even performed a health scan on the main hybrid battery. The job took 4 days to complete but I appreciated the workmanship and thoroughness. Bring your cars to this shop with confidence!

I went to this shop to have my car diagnosed and repaired. Unfortunately, after speaking with the…read moreowner, it became clear that he doesn't really listen. He talks more than he listens, which makes it difficult to have an actual conversation about the issue. As a result, I found myself having to repeat the same information over and over again because it seemed like he wasn't fully understanding the situation. As mentioned by other Yelp reviewers, his attitude and demeanor are mediocre at best. If he worked on his communication and interpersonal skills, I honestly think he could attract and retain more business. Anyway, I brought my car specifically to have the problem diagnosed, but he kept telling me that there could be a variety of factors causing the issue. YES, I KNOW! That's exactly why I brought my car to a professional in the first place--to figure out which factor is actually causing the problem. He then told me to take it to the Toyota dealership, where they would "charge me an arm and a leg." YES, I KNOW THAT TOO! That's precisely why I went to an independent shop instead of the dealership. I came here because I was willing to pay someone to properly diagnose and fix my car, but instead I felt like I was being discouraged from having the work done. At this point, it honestly seems like they don't want to take my money. His shop is called "Prius HYBRID Repair Shop," which is why I specifically took my Prius there--I assumed the name meant he specialized in diagnosing and repairing Priuses. However, based on my experience, I found the name somewhat misleading. When I brought my car in for a diagnosis, he repeatedly told me that the issue "could be many factors" without actually narrowing down or identifying the cause. I understand that diagnosing a vehicle can sometimes be complicated, but I expected a shop specifically named "Prius Hybrid Repair Shop" to have a strong level of expertise when it comes to Prius-related problems. Weird experience. I guess I won't be going here for any diagnosis or repairs.

He was really honest with me offered to buy the alternator and install it for me or have me buy it so that I can get the lifetime warranty and I never have to buy an alternator again. I didn't even know that was a thing. It's great since now if my alternator ever breaks again I can get a new one from O'Reilly at no extra cost and just pay Bryan for the install fee which was really reasonable. I have never had a mechanic offer me that option and I've replaced my alternator twice. He could have easily upsold me on the alternator and install but he actually looked out for me and what would be best for me and save me money long term. I really appreciated that. I will definitely be a returning customer and I would definitely recommend this auto repair shop.

I found myself having to look up arguments online just to have an edge against other shops. However, I want to leave this review for David, Kevin, and Da for their exceptional care for my car. Story time It was a Saturday night out celebrating a friend's birthday. I'm on the 210 West heading back home when tragedy struck. Saving the details of what happened, I can tell you that I was definitely planning on starving myself a few days so I can pay up at a dealership but I desperately took the chance to ask around this time. Out of the 5 shops I inquired, SGV Automotive was the only ones who shown genuine interest and care. David checked up on me to see if I was okay and we then scheduled for an appointment and luckily they were extremely flexible with my scheduling for a quick diagnosis and scheduled a timeline for expectations. I show up the very next day. Two gentleman comes up to me and immediately gets to work with diagnosing and communicating with me. I've never seen such transparency. From past experiences my expectation was: give the key, sit in a waiting room for an hour, debate about buying a snack, wait another hour for them to get started, then thrown with paperwork before knowing what even was the diagnosis. Current experience: communication, care, collaboration, education, reassurance, any most importantly transparency. They helped get me to a rental place and picked me up as well. Definitely went above and beyond. Happy to say that I was able to eat this week. Not looking forward to future car repairs, but as an LA native who expects car troubles too often, I'm glad I have these guys in mind for future services. Appreciate all that you guys do. (They also have uhauls for rental and a friendly kitten named Lulu that comes to welcome you).
