Elton has been helping me out with tires for a few of my cars as I keep coming back to him. Every set of wheels that i've brought to him he would take great care of it as if it was his own. None of my wheels have ever been damage by him. Also the way he handles the wheels is with great care. Other tire shops loads the wheel onto the balancer which ends up scratching the inner hub. But Elton carefully places it so theres no scratches. He carries it by the tire so he doesn't touch the face of the wheel shows that he cautious about handling the wheels. Haven't had any mechanical work done by him but just seeing how meticulous he is with handling my wheels I would trust he would do a great job as well. His shop is attached to a gas station so parking can be tight. But they make it work. Java Motors is conveniently located across from the 99 Ranch Market plaza and next to the Valero gas station. This place is a gem for car maintenance - they work an all sorts of cars! They offer extremely affordable and prompt service. I got my Tesla tires rotated for just $20. My first visit was on a Friday afternoon, and a line of cars was being worked on. Ivan, one of the staff, kindly suggested I come earlier next time and assured me he'd remember I needed my tires rotated. He inflated my tires for free that day. Three weeks later, I returned on a Friday at 9am, and to my surprise, Ivan immediately recognized me and asked, "Here for tire rotation?" I didn't expect such personal attention! Victor, the mechanic, got to work on my car almost right away. He rotated the tires quickly and thoroughly. I had initially gotten a quote from Tesla for $128 for the same service, so I truly appreciate Java Motors' honesty, affordability, and kind approach. I had been coming to this mechanic back when it was Reliable Honest Mechanic and Canto was the owner. (He was a great guy, but is now retired.) The new owner, I think his name is Elton, seems to be keeping up the honest, reliable reputation. I've brought my car in to get some clips installed to hold up the plastic protector underneath (don't know the technical term for it) and one of the guys did it for free (I tipped him though because I was really appreciative). More recently, I brought my car in for an oil change and to get my brakes checked because I heard a squeaking sound. They changed my oil at a reasonable price for synthetic and told me my brakes were fine--squeaking was probably due to the recent heavy rains we had. I appreciated the honesty because I know some mechanics would have fixed the brakes anyway to make a buck. So all in all I have been happy with the service here. read more

It's walking distance from my home (about a mile), but that should never be the reason to trust your car with just any mechanic. They seem to have a lot of business going on with bays always full and cars parked to the side. And my requests have always been small potatoes, such as changing a bulb or changing the oil. I have always been made to feel that my service was welcome and that I would be attended to with respect. In the 20+ years that I have lived in the community, I have never been turned away (even when I had an old Beetle from the 1970s). Service is prompt and if they can't do it in the moment/on the spot, they will give me a timeline. I generally head to the Ranch 99, food court, Vons, or ALDI so the drop off always has an added bonus of good food somewhere. I used to use VALVOLINE for my oil change, but often they would recommend something that I needed that they didn't have. So, I've opted to go to a full-service mechanic. BEST DECISION I'VE MADE FOR MY CAR. I highly recommend this mechanic to anyone. Even if you don't live nearby, you can generally find something to do in the neighborhood. Thumbs up! Java Motors is one of the most affordable mechanics around. They quoted me $160 to replace my MAF sensor. They replaced my intake boot for $150. That includes the diagnostic. Many mechanics charge more than that just for the diagnostic! With that said, their diagnostic practices are lacking/nonexistent. They just use a code scanner (which you can buy from a store) and a visual inspection and then give you a instant recommendation on the spot. If you ask other mechanics "What diagnostic tests will you perform on my car for error code blah blah blah?" many will come up with a variety of in depth answers with computers and machines that take time to perform. Not a quick visual inspection and code scanner. The absence of proper diagnostic is the reason why they fail to fix so many issues. With that said, their prices are too low to pass up a crapshoot, IMO. Normal mechanics charge 3x as much and an expensive mechanic or dealership can cost more than 5x. Other: * Parking in their lot can be full and you just have to improvise and invent parking spaces, sometimes. Happens in a lot of auto related places and i hate that. * They are honest (to the best of their knowledge) and out to save you money. Come in with low expectations matching the low price and you will not be disappointed. read more

Use to come by for any issue big or small. But moment I had an issue with their work, their attitude changed and they began blowing me off. It was regarding my AC having issues not being as strong, they kept saying it was no issues. Brought it to someone else today turns out one of the issues was they shoved the cabin filter in all smashed so of course air gets blocked, additionally my Freon was never replaced even after specifically mentioning about it. read more

What a dump of repair shop. A simple oil change they managed to screw up, they forgot to install the seal on the drain plug. I should have known just by looking at the condition of this place. Communication was a big problem as well. read more

The nicest people! I was attempting to change the rear turn indicator bulb in my car on my own, but couldn't get the light panel off. In desperation I went up the street to the local repair shop. I explained the situation, he found where I had overlooked one screw in a tucked away corner, then popped the light bulb in for me.
