Tucked in the middle of this busy auto repair plaza, DC Auto is now one of my go to places for work on my vehicles. Referred by my friend, Danny (owner) was able to do for my German car that my usual mechanic said "Oh no ... we don't touch that" He also quoted me a reasonable price. I didn't bother shopping around because one shop I came across before DC Auto quoted me nearly triple. I also learned a few things about newer cars and which engines are a headache to work on and which are not. Guess I'm not getting any more German cars. I go to Evolution next door but when they're busy I come to DC. I notice DC's prices comparable but on the higher side when he feels like up charging. This review is in regards to his up charge. Went in yesterday to get my headlight bulbs replaced and he charged $40. I made the mistake of giving him high beam bulbs. He said he can buy the parts and wanted to charge me $70 for the bulbs. I said no thanks. Bought some from Amazon for $29. Came back today and he's charging me $120. I was dumbfounded bc he just said $40 yesterday now he wants to up charge me an arm and a leg -it's BS y'all. His reason was he was busy and said that it's too hard for him to do... doesn't make sense. I ended up going to Ming Star Auto on Las Tunas and Baldwin next to the McDonald's. The guy charged me $40 and finished in 10 mins. In conclusion- find a different mechanic. DC gives me shady vibes. If you have a Toyota and Honda go next door to Evolution they're honest, reliable, affordable and excellent at their work. read more

Danny is the man! Honest. Reliable. Transparent. Any time I have an issue with my used Mazda 3, he's the first person I bring it to. He will diagnose the problem and do his best to fix the issue. I always get my oil changed here and have had other parts fixed as well. I took my car in for an oil change today, and I noticed he also helped to fill my tires and changed my windshield washer fluid. A few months ago, I had a frustrating issue with my Mazda where the engine would randomly not start. Danny was attentive and took his time to try and resolve the issue. He said that if the same issue happened again, to bring it back to him. I must've gone back to him 1-2 more times, but the issue ended up being something that I needed to take into the dealership. Through all this, Danny barely charged me anything...maybe like $40 total. Compare this to a dealership where they charge you $100-200 just to diagnose your car problem. I just needed a nail out of my tire. Danny said he couldn't take credit at the moment. Fair. I told him my mom would come with cash. He proceeds to fix the brakes of another car when all I needed was to get the nail out of my car. I had to wait the ENTIRE time before he went back to my car. Prior to coming to Danny's auto shop, I was at Wondries and had to wait in line to get service. When I asked for a quote, they charged me a ridiculous amount for an oil change and wheel rotation. My engine light was also on but they refused to check it since they were busy that morning and told me I would have to make an appointment for another day. On top of that, I would have to wait 4 hours to get my car back. I quickly canceled my service check and went to Danny's, which was recommended by a friend. There was no wait and he quickly serviced my car under an hour with a reasonable price :) The other auto shops next to him don't service Priuses so it's a plus that he is able to! I went to RTM for couple mins and have parked my car for no longer than 5-10mins. They needed the car to be move and I went right away, and was apologized for parking there. When I was moving the guy who was working there ( also the guy who told me to move my car) is a very racist person. After I apologized he literally said " this isn't China parking". I was very offended by him, I apologized again and try to defend myself. However, "this isn't China parking" is the only reply I am getting after every sentence I say. I went in to get my freon recharged because my car air conditioning was not running as cool as expected. But after they "fixed" my car they said there's more problems with my car that needs to be "fixed" and my air conditioning now runs hot which is worse than it was before. They made my car worse and wanted to make more $$$ off the "new problems" they "found" after they "fixed" my air conditioning issue. Uh, no thanks... Reasonable price for the transmission oil change, I have a Sienna and the owner only charged $70 plus tax. Please note: transmission oil change is different from transmission flush, oil change only replaces 30-40% of the transmission oil, while transmission flush replaces 100%( and the price will be much higher). I love how this shop is super close to my house! One of the best mechanics, he was able to figure out what happened with my car. He took great care of it and my process with him was smooth. He's very knowledgable about a lot of cars! I was shocked because I assumed every car he took in were Hondas or Toyotas (I have a G37). The only thing I dislike is that this shop is cramped inside a plaza filled with many other mechanic shops. It's kind of difficult to maneuver around. This has been by far the worst place I had ever took my truck to please people trust me when I say I DO NOT recommend this place at all here's what happened to me i took my truck because my motor felt like it was misfiring so I get to the place and right away he said to I charge 80$ do diagnose the problem after he diagnose it he said this is what we have to do he changed my spark plug my coil that was perfectly fine "new" and also changed my fuel injector once he replaced the parts he starts it up and again the motor sounding and running the same he did not diagnose my truck correctly he was guessing to see what can fix the problem I understand you can't know exactly what code to start from but this guy was going one by one at the end I was going to end up paying over 2000$ I personally feel like he could of took the time and run more test to really know what the problem was that is why he is charging his fee he ended up charging me 360$ and I had to pay to receive my keys he had me waiting over five hours for no reason he lied to me and said he ordered a part and they came wrong. I personally think this guy did not diagnose my truck properly and does not know how to fix it so away he sent me with my truck still running really bad. I drove it like that home and the truck actually died out on me. He left it worse than when I first took it I called him back right away and told him and right away he said I'll give you back 80$ and he still end up with280$ and my truck not running.people if this gentleman continues to do the stuff to people like us he's basically a scammer there's this program called BAR bureau of automotive repair these people can look into what does scams he's doing like not fixing the problem I do not recommend this place at all. . read more
