I've got a 2015 Toyota Sienna I bought used, and lately the brakes were shaking pretty bad at high speeds. I figured I might have to replace all four rotors and pads. I took it over to Evolution Automotive and booked an appointment. I actually missed my morning slot (my bad!), but they still took me in that afternoon and had my car ready the same day. This place is awesome. I actually found them through AI, and since I don't speak much English, I used a translation app to communicate. Even with that, they were super patient and understanding. My front rotors and pads were worn down to the limit, and they fixed it perfectly while saving me money. I recently needed replacement for rear brake pads for my 2015 Toyota Sienna and i called him to check the labor rate since i already had the parts, I was quoted a reasonable amount, much lower than my regular mechanic shop had suggested. i was able to get a same day lunch time appointment to get the work done and they were fast and professional. The owner of the shop test drove the vehicle after the work was done and seemed very honest about some future repair questions i had asked. I asked him to check my brakes on top of replacing my valve cover gasket and if he'd do it an all around checkup and he has discovered my right rear brakes are leaking and it needs to be looked at more closely and that I can bring it back another day but in the meantime he cleaned the area for me. I am reluctant to write a good review because it's already very hard to get an appointment with him. He is always very busy. But I think he deserves to be acknowledged because he is not just an excellent mechanic but the most honest I have ever encountered. So a friend recommended this place and I took my car here to check on all these flashing lights on my Lexus. Well I didn't get any work done here but I do want to show my appreciation. When I drove up in the morning Surya came up and I showed him the lights, immediately he suspected it was a problem with the brake actuator. So he got one of his guys to hook up some kind of diagnostic tool to confirm. He then explained to me that this was not a cheap thing to fix and due to the complexity he felt he wasn't the most qualified to fix the problem. I am very appreciative when mechanics are honest and don't try to monkey around with something they aren't qualified for. Found Surya bc Valvoline oil change over filled my car with oil and it started smoking. At first I thought it was a coolant problem took it to a my friends mechanic and they changed the coolant system. Drove it that night and smoke started coming out. At this point I was down thinking my engine is busted - crack piston head or blown gasket or something. Someone on from church recommended Surya and he immediately found the problem. Valvoline oil change station put 10 qt of oil! He drained 5 qts and he didn't charge me for diagnostic. Came back shortly for him to change the oil (again), the transmission fluid, and spark plugs. I used to rate this place 5 stars. Unfortunately, I have to report an Oil change scam. I brought my own 5QT Mobile 1 0w-20 which is $29.00 bought from Walmart, and the Bosch oil filter which is around $10.00 bought from Walmart. I paid $10.00 for oil change. What I got: 1. The technician did not give me back the bottle which supposed to be given back with 1 QT oil left over. 2. I asked him where is big bottle, and he said he poured the whole bottle in, so there is no left over. I said it's not supposed to have all 5 QT oil in the engine, but he said it's ok. 3. I bought a pipe sucked two water bottles(500ml)oil out from the dipstick hole 3 days after the oil change. The color of the oil was so dark. Pictures attached. 4. I brought the bottle with the oil sample back to Surya, and he said the color was normal because the engine always have some left over oil after each oil change. 5QT for once is ok. What I did: 1. I brought my car to Walmart and got a oil change again. 2. I asked the technician was the oil drained dirty? He said that was pretty dirty. 3. I asked him how long do you think I have not changed the oil. he said looked like 4000-5000 miles. That's exactly the miles from last last oil change. 4. I asked him is it possible just replace the oil filter without change the oil? He said it's possible. 5. I waited 3 days after the oil change, I suck the oil out and compare the color. Picture attached. What I want to say is: I want thank the technician who didn't return the oil bottle to me. If he didn't tell me he put all 5 QT oil in my engine, I wouldn't suck the extra oil out, and I couldn't get to see the color of the oil. This was an other good lesson I learned: never over trust anyone. always double check if possible. Good reputation on yelp doesn't mean any trustworthy. My mom told me about this place. She thought she had to get new front brakes but they told her that she could run it another 3,000 miles. That's honest right there. I have a Toyota Camry and my brakes for the past week or so have been making this awful sound. It doesn't squeak so much as make a crunching sound. I came by on a Friday afternoon and they took a look at my car and it was too late for me to resurface my rotor. They were worn down. They shown me that it was metal rubbing against metal. That's why it was crunching. Anyways, I was really happy that they were able to fix it for me. It took about an hour and a half to get new rotor, brake pad and a caliper. I just chilled at the Ralphs while I was waiting for me car. I was able to catch up on some gossip and got girl scouts cookies, SCORE! The guys here are really nice. I have been coming to Evolution since I am in high school. I am now in my thirties. Surya, the owner, is the most honest mechanic I have ever met. His price is always very reasonable, because I tend to look around for other quotes from other auto shops. Second time here. First time was a few months ago for a quick tire patch for a nail in my Chevy Colorado 2016. That was a good deal, around $10 or so. Now I brought it back for an oil change. Fully synthetic around $60, which was same as jiffy lube but the service here is much better to me. They don't just do an oil change, but complete check up to make sure the truck is safe to go back out on the road. I feel safe knowing Denny (think that's his name) checked the truck all around and made sure everything was tip-top. He went around with a flashlight to check underneath.
