The staff is very knowledgeable! They fixed the heater hose for our vehicle in a timely manner. Definitely coming back again in the near future! Thanks. read more

Quick and easy. Affordable. Friendly. Close to my house. What else do you need. Us them for your smog check.

Great experience at Arcadia Smog and Repairs! They were able to squeeze me in within the hour, and I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Super fast, efficient, and friendly service. Highly recommend! read more

Bunch of crooks! I came here to get my freon recharged. They said that there was a problem with the AC compressor. They wanted over $1000 to change the AC compressor. I took my truck to another place. Come to find out that the system just needed freon. The compressor is fine. It's as if I had "sucker" written all over my face. To all my friend, family members & everyone reading this review, do not come here. Go somewhere else. The previous owner was nice. Now the owner's son took over the place, they rob people any way they can. read more

I have been taking my cars here since I was 16 years old. My dad has been coming here longer than that. But always honest and good prices. I trust no one else with my cars than them. They truly are amazing and trustworthy read more

Since my initial review, I've been back here a few more times. A couple of times was for a weird engine noise that magically disappeared whenever I pulled up to the business. ( y'all know what I mean! ) And finally, another smog check. Without going in to detail, the guy went above and beyond to help me figure out why my OBD plug was pushed in, and helped me pull it back out so it was accessible. I appreciate family owned businesses that don't mind doing just a bit more to take care of their customers. I won't have any more smogs for a few more years, but will very likely come back for brake replacement and possibly repairs. I recommend these guys! read more

This is the literal WORST mechanic you could ever go to! They overcharge for EVERYTHING and don't stick to their word. I will never go back to this place! Also they take full advantage of you are a female! Be aware read more

Very quick service! I was in and out in 10-15 minutes. They had a seating area as well as seating outside, but for how quickly everything got done, the waiting was not a problem. They said they would also take care of sending the test to the DMV. All for only $35! Great service read more

Arcadia Smog & Repairs - Seating area - Auto Repair Near Me - Arcadia, California

I came here yesterday after my engine light turned on. I was a little worried so I took my baby in. They changed my oil and ran some test on my car. They said that the reason why it came on was because some liquid was on my engine so it alerted my car system but they wiped it down and noticed it wasn't oil so they reset my car engine light. He also ran a battery check on my car because he noticed that my car was having a hard time kicking over. After the test and showing me how low my car battery was, I changed the battery. My oil change came out to $30 for a Mazda 5 Grand Touring. My battery replacement came out to be $122 that is including labor. I like going here because they're honest with you and won't try to make you get other things fixed that don't need fixing! read more

Roger has been my mechanic now for about 15 years. He is always honest, reasonable and does great work. I started out having him do a couple smog checks to see if he would up sell me on things I didn't really need, he didn't! He did an honest smog check. So I took it to the next level. He has never disappointed me. I trust him enough to refer all my friends and family. You can trust him as well. read more

Arcadia Smog & Repairs has been my go to shop for many years. Not only do they have fair pricing, they do not try to sell my anything I would not need. Repairs are also done in a timely matter. I have never had an issue waiting extraneous amounts of time. I would definitely recommend this shop to everyone! 5/5 Stars read more

Came in 2 weeks ago, they took my car said it would be ready in a few days. Two days later I called to ask about the status of the car they said don't hold your breath it won't be ready soon. So we went there to pick up some stuff out of the car and to our surprise we were told that the car was not even at the shop. Apparently they send the car off to a different location to get fixed if it's a "big job". When we arrived to pick up the stuff we needed some kid was driving around in MY car. At that point I decided it was time to just take the car elsewhere. Car smelled so bad who knows what they were doing in there. It was a waste of my time and extremely frustrating that they did not tell me upfront that the car would be sent offsite for repairs. read more

A hole in the wall, beat down looking auto shop on Live Oak Ave in Arcadia. If you know that part of Live Oak, most businesses are run down so Arcadia Smog & Repair fits right in (lol). I've only been here for smog checks and have to say, I've never waited. When I arrive, they get right on it and I'm out of there in 15 minutes. Pricing is the same as all the other shops (I don't know if there are any discount coupons). I paid $55 out the door, which is $5 higher than pre-Covid prices. What do you expect? It's my go to smog check shop in Arcadia. I can't comment on repairs because I've never had them repair anything. read more

I have been coming here for years. Victor and his staff are very knowledgeable. Prices are great as well. You will be in and out very quickly. I went to the dealership to fix a recall. The dealership said I needed to change some other parts and the price was $3200. Brought it to Victor and there wasn't anything wrong with the parts at all. read more

Good price for smog and fast but I wouldn't go for anything else. I got a few repairs done here (I was desperately in a hurry) and they way over charged for the parts! Tried to charge me 65 for just the part when it only cost 13 plus 55 for labor when it was literally a 5 minute fix. Ended up doing it myself in just 5 minutes and only spent 13 for the part at auto zone. read more

I've been coming to Roger for many many years. His prices are always reasonable, and he does honest and good work. I will continue to go to Roger for as long as he's in business. read more

Our family takes all of our cars here! Roger is super fair with his prices and he's really honest. He'll always find the best alternative for whatever repairs you need. The place is a bit old and run-down but the service here is fantastic. He's got a quick turnaround time and he's always reasonable with his prices. Definitely if you're looking for a new mechanic, bring your car here. read more

Went here for an oil change because I was nearby. The wait wasn't bad, maybe 40 minutes. Price for an oil change here is more expensive than most places. I didn't mind as long as they did a good job. Well a few weeks later the under engine splash mudguard that was covering underneath the car dropped down and was scraping the road as I was driving. To prevent further damage to the mudguard, I drove to the nearest mechanic I could find. The mechanic told me that they forgot to put back 2 retainer clips and that's why the mudguard dropped down. Stay away from this place! read more

No more cash price discount, at least the day I went in :( Cost over $40 now. Still a fast place to get your smog check, I was in and out of there within 15 minutes. read more

I have called a couple (4 Star smog test places which I have been taken my cars there before) for a regular smog check for my 2004 Lexus ES330. They all want to charge $49.95. I guess must be the inflation. Anyway I called (Roger I think) told me $35 on the phone, and his smog test equipment is under calibration want me to call back in 20 minutes. I called and drove there. When I got there calibration was almost done. Within 35 minutes Smog was done and certificate in my hand. $35 all. I will bring my car back for future smog check. read more

Quick and easy! I called before I came to check the price and to see if they were busy. They gave me a quote for $35 for a Honda Accord and told me that they could accommodate me right away. The smog check area is in the back of the building, so you will have to drive through the parking lot on the side to get there. The smog check took less than 10 minutes and was electronically submitted. Then I went to the front to pay $35 for everything. This place is much cheaper than the smog check places that offer coupons. Those tend to be sneaky and have additional charges, whereas this place was straightforward and gave me a good price without a coupon. I will definitely be back here for my next smog check! read more

I came here for a smog check and tried to explain a long-standing error code I had been getting. I had a feeling I wasn't going to pass smog because of a pending error code I've gotten before with another mechanic. I tried to tell him this but he just didn't listen. He was so distracted and I could tell everything I was saying was without merit to him. He told me to test anyways since I had driven on the freeway and that I would for sure pass. I didn't. Then he figures it out - I need to drive over 200 miles. I had already done exactly that with a previous mechanic - but he just wouldn't listen to me. I paid. I wish I hadn't. read more

Our other car needed a smog test. Without an appointment, I showed up late Saturday and within a few minutes and $40, I was on my way, done! This place is not fancy, but the service is top notch! read more

Was charged $20 for a job that took literally a couple of minutes and no changing of parts. My windshield wiper was going crazy and turns out just needed a screw to be tightened. Was way overcharged but maybe we just got taken advantage of because we were two girls going in. read more

I've known Roger and Family Crew for about now 6 years. Every time I needed Oil change, flat tires , brake repair and other issues. They were always fair and service great. When I first came here I've been to many places and unnoticed they're oil changes are better deal. Also in brake repairs he doesn't use cheap parts for lower prices. I rarely make an appointment because I go at my convenience on the way home. And I never waited too long. Oil changes are fast! Thanks Roger for always taking me in without an appointment. sean read more

Is it possible to give a lower rating? If it was I would without hesitation. First, answer the phone with your company name. "Hello"? Really? Did I just call a personal cell phone? A wrong number? No it was really a business. Next when I tried discuss arandom charge on my credit card for uhaul services, can I get an explanation as to what it was for? Again, no. You have to call customer service at uhaul. Really? Aren't you the one operating the credit card machine? Here's a tip, don't do business here. read more

I've took my car in for new alternator changed back in Dec 2019. Because my alternator was under warranty, I had to bring back to authorized repair shop to get it serviced, which was this mechanic shop. After few months, my car is having problems, so I've took it to my regular mechanic. Found out that Arcadia Repair did not screw and connect properly on my new alternator. They lost the original screws and did not screw the new alternator back on correctly. Now I've ended up paying additional cost for their lousy repair job when they should have done it properly in the first place. Those original screws are only available at the dealer. I've called them, they wanted me to bring my car back for them to fix properly. Why should I bring my car back when they didn't repaired it correctly at the first place??!! It's a waste of time and money, especially during this pandemic. I will never go back to this unreliable car repair shop. read more

My car in college was a junker, so I've been here many times. Roger is the most honest mechanic I've ever met. Always gives a fair, most of the time too low, price and never try's to upsell anything that's not needed. Works hard to fix your car. If I ever move, I would probably still get my car towed across a couple cities to come here! read more

I used to come here for all my car repairs, Roger was reliable, friendly, and always gave me a great price. Now this place becomes a totally different story when the son took over the business. The son is now making unnecessary repairs and charging me a much higher price than what Roger used to charge me. After all these years, It is sad to see how good business has gone BAD !! The son has turned this place into a SCAM overnight !! read more

The people here will rip you off and have very bad service!! I am sorry.

Love this place! They've always been honest and professional to me and my family and people we've referred. They will only recommend service when it's absolutely necessary. I've been using Arcadia Smog now for a couple of years. Smog checks are fast, usually about 15-20 minutes. I also had my transmission repaired on my 2004 Honda Odyssey and it was about $1000 less than another shop quoted and no problems, my trans is like new. They are honest and don't try to upsell other repairs unless you really need them, I recommend these guys to everyone read more

I come here for everything going on with my car. Pretty Detailed little family shop. Roger is very honest with what needs to be done and what not. He doesn't ask you to change your transmission oil when you clearly have 6k left of the oil just so he get a little extra cash. Guy tried up selling me saying my car was older, charging me to 55 for a smog check. I asked if he'd give me a small discount, he said no.
