Went in for an oil change and arrived early before my appointment. I've been a customer for about 15-20 years. I realized I had not given this team a review and wanted to as my recent service was truly perfect. You'll see I don't give reviews often but this review is well earned and overdue. I took a Ridgeline with 160K miles and for the last 3 years it's received poor mpgs. They recommend a tune up and major service. I was skeptical at best such would help but my truck has never ran better and I went from 22 mpg to 28 mpg... that's a significant improvement! The blower for the heating/cooling system in my Honda Accord decided to die, just when we were about to have the hottest week this year so far. (Doesn't it always happen just then?!) I called Arcadia Ultimate Auto and was able to schedule an appointment right away for the next day. Ramon was super helpful, by the time I pulled up he had already ordered the parts that he thought could be broken, just to be ready for all possibilities and get the repair done quickly. Rather, he gives his honest opinion and won't persuade you to purchase anything additional like some other shops do. Even after I moved to the westside, and now live in the valley, I have always driven (or gotten my car towed) all the way to Arcadia to have my car worked on there. The reason is, they go above and beyond for their customers and absolutely NEVER push work onto you that is not needed. They'll tell you about issues to keep an eye on and will let you know when it's time to get something fixed or if it can wait. I went to Arcadia Ultimate Automotive to have my steering looked at on my Acura for a simple leak. When I got there they said it would be $45 just to have em look at it. Thinking it was just a leaking return line to the power steering pump reservoir I said OK. Anyways they call me a few hours later and say it is the entire steering box and that it would cost around $1400. I went and had it done and while they were working on my car one of the mechanics called me. He wanted to know were the wheel lock key was. I told him it was in the glove compartment. He said OK if I can't find it I will call you back. He never called back. When I get the car back Jeff says, "Hey the steering pump makes a lot of noise it doesn't look original so that's why it is making so much noise, but you already new that." When I go to the car I checked for the wheel lock key and it was missing. I go to the mechanic that called me and he says, Oh yeah I couldn't find it so I opened it another way. But yet he said he would call me if he could find it and never did. I take the car home and drain the power steering fluid suspecting that the fluid they put it was not Honda specific. I replaced it with the correct fluid which solved the noise problem. The car no longer leaks but I was very irritated with the service this place provides. I would rather go to the dealer it cost the same and the service is professional. read more
