My sister referred me here because of the great service they provided her, so I called ahead to make sure I could come in for a smog check. They were super lenient and allowed me to choose a time that was best for me, so they could make sure their team was ready when I was! Once I arrived, they got me in and out in a matter of minutes! They even helped me fix my beat up license plate out of the kindness of their hearts. If you're looking for a place that is beyond efficient and will take care of you like family, LOOK NO FURTHER! Come here and I promise, you will not regret it. The prices are super reasonable as well. I would recommend this place to everyone. My car signaled that I had ABS, Brake, and Traction Control issues. I took my car to this location and was charged $90 for a Diagnoses that took 2 hours. The person claimed that I needed an antilock brake booster pump and accumulator replacement. He stated that this repair would cost around $2.3k - $2.6k total to repair. I decided to do further research and took my car to a different location to see if I could get a better deal. At another autoshop it was indicated that I only needed to refill my brake fluid. This other shop also did it for free and only within 5 minuets (checked the front hood and used a scanner to diagnose) . After visiting an auto shop and refilling that meter, the lights went away. I would think that Goodwill would had double checked these areas to confirm if I really needed that replacement. It's very concerning and questionable that a highly trained person in auto would jump to conclusions of a replacement without checking the fluid meter. My experience with Goodwill feels very cheated and deceptive. No I don't recommend anyone to come here. read more

I took my car in this morning for an issue to be diagnosed and fixed. This shop was recommended to me by a coworker who has been a long time customer at the shop. I was blown away by the high quality of their customer service, the speed with which they were able to make the repair (same day!), and the fair price they charged. They were proactive to notify me that the battery in my spare key fob was low. Although they did not have the correct battery in stock, they offered to order it so that it's on-hand the next time I bring my car in for service. They also proactively checked my tire pressure, found them all to be below recommended levels, and fixed that issue. I've never felt more taken care of at any auto shop than I did at Goodwill Auto Repair. I will absolutely be bringing my car here for all maintenance needs going forward! read more

I didn't expect to have such a great experience from an auto repair shop but I was compelled to write a review after my smog check service today. I had a great conversation with Carl, who I assume is the owner, while my car was being checked. They got done in less than 10 min then sent me on my ways. I'll be back for an oil change soon. Excellent service, fast, and easy! It was our first time going to this shop but they acted like we were old friends! I called to see if they did smog checks and oil change, he cheerfully gave me the price for each and said I could come at 2:30 and he'd watch for me. I actually sent my son because I was in a meeting, but as soon as he pulled in, he was greeted with "(my last name) oil change and smog check, right?" my son says yep! And off they went. I haven't been back to see John or Saro in several years because I moved out of state and then moved back to the west side, but every time I need work done on my car, I constantly wish Goodwill was closer to me! I stumbled upon them years ago when my car randomly broke down and AAA towed me to them because it was near a friend's place. Not only did they do a great job on my car, but they were super honest and their prices were very reasonable. I was so pleased with their work that when a random person hit my parked car, I took my car back to them and they took care of everything for me, including meeting with my insurance agent and referring me to Vic, Saro's brother at Toluca Auto Body & Repair. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND as the main quality about an auto shop is honesty since I know nothing of auto repair and I rely solely on what I'm told. I gave 2 stars only bcuz they are experienced and know what they are doing-yes. However, they are NOT honest. On Sept 20, 2018, I had an oil change- one hour, $80-and out the door. John took care of me and yes he and Saro are very nice. Unfortunately things went south after John suggested that I should change my engine and cabin filters. He said it would cost me $180. I told him to order the parts and would call to set up a day. Meanwhile, I found my last auto repair slip from my beloved Ron's Volvo (Automotive) - now closed - from January 2018, which was the last time I had the car serviced. I saw my filters had been changed then and it has only been 10k miles since then and recommendation is for every 15k miles. This caused me to pause. When I searched for this info, several videos came up such as "how to change your engine filter" and "how to change your cabin filter," and I watched both. Each video was less than 3 minutes long - wow. Yes folks, even I, as a novice, can do this on my own car for no more than 20 minutes I'm sure. I also noticed on my last bill with Ron's Automotive that the filters were $25 and $35 each so I'm scratching my head wondering how the hell did Goodwill Auto Repair come up with $180???? Don't be fooled by a smiling face. read more

I'm sure you couldn't find any better honest and reliable mechanics as John, Saro, and Stan are concerned. I've been going to them since 1993, and with all the many maintenance and repairs I've had on my 2 cars, they've always been upfront with what needs to be done--at incredibly reasonable prices! They will also warn me what a potential upcoming routine maintenance I might be needing--i.e., brakes, tires, etc. Then I can anticipate monetarily on my next oil change visit, what additional maintenance/repairs will most likely have to be included. Honestly, you can't go wrong with these guys--give them a try!! read more
