I've finally found a local mechanic I can trust to give me an honest opinion. I usually take the car to the dealership but I cant justify the additional cost. So based on a coworkers recommendation I took in a newly acquired vehicle and Vince's team did an amazing job. They gave me a run down of what was needed and what could wait. They even checked a couple issues that I brought up to put my mind at ease for no additional cost. The repairs were quick and exactly as quoted. I also think it is important to note that they source quality aftermarket parts, in this case they replaced the brake master cylinder with Aisin which is a good brand that makes a lot of OE Toyota parts. They also do alignments and tire installation which most shops stay away from. Very convenient. Thank you Vince and team for ensuring the vehicles safety! read more

I took my car for an oil change and what this place called it "Lube Oil & Filter 5W20 " for $58.97 and $90 for Labor . My car also had the engine light on and service a "Steering Wheel Vibration ". $ 22.79 to remove and change the Steering Coupler that was worn out. Labor $540 I end up paying $721.73 The original estimated paper that I signed was for $360. I am a 75 year old woman. I feel that I was charged too muc read more

Thank you Vince for syncing my new phone to my Toyota Corolla. Always exceptional customer service, the only place I trust with my car.

After calling around to replace my front shocks, I came across Vince's Auto on yelp. I read some of the reviews and then scheduled an appointment. Vince replaced my shocks with factory OEMs for a price that couldn't be beat. My truck felt so smooth after. I'm definitely coming back for other services! read more

They charge $150/hour for labor. $3000 in labor ALONE. When I asked about the labor price breakdown they fumbled on the prices, saying $140 at first and then changing it to $150. Called around other mechanics and got other quotes and they informed me that I was being grossly overcharged. Other places could've fixed my car for at least $1000 less than what Vince charged me. After giving them their money they had the nerve to leave my car a mess. (All this stuff was in my middle compartment and they just left it on my passenger seat) . Vince himself is not friendly. They don't keep you updated on repairs. I had to initiate calling multiple times to get updates. Please please please go somewhere else to get your car fixed. read more

I needed an auto shop that was local in Pasadena. Thanks to Yelp I found this shop. Unfortunately I needed brakes and motor mounts. Thanks to Hectors advice and quality work from the shop my car is running like new. Timely work and trustworthy which if you know auto shops have a bad rep But this one legit. read more

Poor service, use of defective parts. I had to bring my vehicle back several times! Waste of time and money. I would not recommend this business. read more

I've been a loyal customer of Vince's for many years now and he takes care of all of our cars. We trust him and his team implicitly. I've had my car hit while parked on the street twice and both times Vince took care of the body work. My husband has had his catalytic converter stolen three times and Vince took care of the replacements. He does our oil changes, maintenance, repairs, and even pointed out to me that my front windshield had a giant crack in it that I had not seen which saved me from potentially being in the car when it shattered. I refer all of our friends to him and they are also happy customers. I highly recommend Vince if you're looking for impeccable integrity and the utmost quality in an auto service! read more

My 2017 Ram 1500 was down with a blown turbo, clogged SCR filter and my AC was not working. Vince and his team were outstanding in diagnosing and repairing the problems. They fixed my truck in a very timely manner. And the cost was very fair. This was not an easy repair I'm sure. The price was about 25% lower than I would have paid at the dealership. The repair was now about 6000 miles ago and my truck runs perfect. Also my AC is ice cold. I really enjoy it now in this heatwave. Thank you Vince and crew! read more

This is an honest review from a customer who had the WORST experience at this shop. Pay attention folks because this is my first negative review n Yelp. Back in early October. I went in for an oil change and tire rotation on my Chevy Tahoe. They found leakage in the rear drum brake shoe cylinder and the front wheel bearings that needed replacement. The shop manager Hector quoted me $460 (with a $50 discount ) with the repair time of 2.5 to 3 hours I went in on a Sat at 8 am and with 3 cars with prior appointments ahead of me only for oil changes, I would have my car done by noon. This was a COMPLETE LIE. Vince should have been forthright abut having fewer mechanics, He DID NOT. 1. When I got there from L.A. to Pasadena, I was first to arrive. Vince didn't even greet me and greeted the lady who drove in after me even though I was there just the day before and having come in on the very next day WITH an appointment. 2. While waiting, a mechanic tells me it was his last day due to the difficulty working for Vince. This is when I should have simply left. 3. Vince had his driver take me to a local Coffee Bean which was not even open due to being under construction, so I walked over to the nearest Starbucks. I got my car back at 3:30 pm. That puts me at 7 hours of my time for a 3 hour job. Vince never called me to give me an update on the repairs of my car nor did he even make an apology when I had asked for the reason for the long delay. I had called 3 separate times and not any explanations. I was the last person to pick up my car... first in, last out. This shop is a mess. The garage has old classic cars ( a Jaguar and a Corvette ) sitting on the floor or on the lift which ALL belongs to the owner. His personal cars are everywhere including the small building next door. They take up space where it can accommodate additional customer vehicles. The office is also a mess with outdated magazines and desks in disarray. Go to any other shops and it's clean and even offers free wifi. No other shops have new or old parts sitting n the floor throughout the shop. For the price this guy charges, you're better off elsewhere. Lastly, when they repaired the wheel bearings, they only repaired the front right wheel. Why wouldn't they repair the left wheel as well? They charged me $75 for aftermarket parts that costs only $16 OEM at a CHEVY dealership. I ended up getting the left wheel done for $45 elsewhere. They even said my Water Pump had a small leak. Along with other works, they quoted me $1,500 for labor with my own parts.. I went to another service shop near home that is AAA and ASE certified and for the same labor, they wanted only $450. With my own parts, I got everything done for $700 along with a 2 year labor guarantee. And yeah, they are much larger and cleaner. But best of all, half the work Vince's shop wanted me to do WAS NOT NEEDED. There was no leak from the water pump. Vince and his manager Hector tried to up sell me just because I drive an older car. If you;re going to pay high prices, at least pay a shop who's honest and actually requires repairs. As the saying goes, "it's a f #%@ in' Chevy... just put in gas and go!!! ". These people, Vince and his manager Hector will RIP you off in BOTH TIME and MONEY. I've read all the other reviews and none of it was true to the way I was treated and my car serviced. They even left scratches on the driver's side door and jammed up the hood latch which did not open. Had to go back a third time to get it corrected. ( more wasted time and gas ). There are more shady practices which I was told about and made a formal report to the BBB. Go elsewhere Oh, and if Vince decides to respond to my review as he does to other reviews, DO NOT BOTHER WITH YOUR LIES. read more

Came here based on all these five-star reviews, but didn't have the same experience as everyone else. Vince checked my car for overheating, carried out a water pressure test, found that either the head gasket or head is leaking, and told me he needs to remove the cylinder head to inspect damage. Then, he quoted me $1500-$1600 to fix the problem, but I decided to not go through with it. He charged me $90 for just that diagnostic. I didn't think much of it since I don't know much about cars, but the auto service shops that I've visited since have all told me I was overcharged. Plus, other shops have quoted me around $1000 for the same fix. read more

I have 2 Infiniti vehicles that I have been going there for 6 years. Now, I do go back and forth between them and the Infiniti dealership. I've spent thousands per car for service with them. Now, you better not tell Vince, the owner, that you go somewhere else sometimes because he will tell you to only stay with one mechanic shop. He claims I am wasting his time (talked to him for 2 minutes for ). That's a damn, shame, you lost 2 vehicle customer. I have 2 businesses myself and I know customers go back and forth, I appreciate them coming to our office. Not tell them to stick with one place only! read more

I service my Honda there, I find them really reasonable and honest. Recently I had my oil changed, tires rotated and two air filters on my car changed for around 100 bucks, and they washed my car extremely thoroughly. What's to complain about. They called me twice during the day to update me on the work they were gonna do and to get approval. Hector and Vince both very nice. Brought my 4 yr old kid and they let him look around and they even jacked up a car on a lift so he could see it happen, which made his day. Thank you. read more

I have been going to Vince's for a few years now. Finally had to do a brake job on my `01 Ford E350 van and frankly they never worked this well in the previous 20 years. I've owned it from new so I remember well how the dealer denied that there was anything wrong way back when. Not that they were unsafe, just never felt right and took a heavy boot in panic situations. Now I can leave evidence that the ABS actually works! read more

This auto shop has saved me twice already and I gotta say, Vince is very honest when it comes to taking care of your car. He keeps you updated on the progress and he does not try to up charge you on any unnecessary work. I was in a bind when my car needed a starter. Apparently cars break down at the worst moments. Especially the day before you start a new job!! I was worried that my car would not be fixed on time but Vince knew my dilemma and kept me updated on the progress. Needless to say, my car was up and running that same day just prior to closing. This has been twice that Vince has saved me. Their pricing is fair and they do not skip on quality. Vince has very good customer service and he is very respectful. I would definitely go back a third and a fourth time. read more

I have a considerable mistrust of auto repair shops after years of getting soaked by both dealerships and indie businesses, so much that I started learning (with the help of Chilton manuals and YouTube videos) how to do as much of my own repair work as possible. Well, the other night my wife's Rav4 started emitting a howling noise from the alternator/water pump area, and I knew from experience working on my old Chevy Cavalier that replacing one or both parts would be a bitch for me to do in our backyard, especially without a lift. It would also require more time than I had to spare. So, I started canvassing Yelp and settled on Vince's due to the good reviews. I called them last Saturday and spoke to Vince, who told me that they wouldn't be able to check out the car until Monday, but that I could park it in the shop's driveway and leave the key under the office door. As it was, our key wouldn't fit under the door, but I left the car where Vince had instructed and returned on Monday morning. Vince took the key and said he'd call after they checked it out. I was a little nervous since he didn't give me any kind of receipt, but decided to just take a leap of faith. An hour or so later, Vince called with his assessment (yes, the alternator and water pump needed to be replaced) and the price. It wasn't cheap, but it WAS less than what I expected, and he didn't try to upsell me like a dealership would. Vince also said the car would be done that day, which also was a pleasant surprise, since I expected that it would take a couple of days. I greenlighted the repair and VInce called back later that afternoon to tell me the car was done. My wife picked it up and had no problems. Pros: Reasonable prices. Fast service. No upsell. Cons: Only thing I would suggest would be a drop box for keys for vehicles left after hours. Only giving them 4 stars because this was my first time visiting. However, I would definitely use them again for repairs that I can't handle. read more

Brought my car here because of the good reviews over a start up issue, told them what they may have to do to resolve which was only a $100 job. Called back with a diagnostic that needed $1500 in repairs! Not only the diagnostic was wrong but they were trying to over charge for everything. It was going to be a nightmare process. of course I said no and pulled my car out of their shop. A couple of days later my friend did a google search and figured what the issue was which was a minor (free) fix regarding the key fab! Vince wanted to switch out the computer system that had no issues!!! Very disappointed.. read more

A trustworthy auto repair shop... in L.A.?! Blasphemy! My family has been taking our cars to Vince for years and years and he's always done a great job.. never overcharged us and always made sure the job was done correctly. He even helped me out when we realized my battery was a dud... and he called the manufacturer to make sure I got my money back... (And I know he's not overcharging because I always call friends who work on cars in Kentucky and ask them how much something SHOULD cost to fix.. and they actually usually tell me more than what Vince charges...) And there's never that... "well, you should get this and this and this and this and this done or your car will fall apart by the side of the road in the middle of nowhere and you'll regret it!" kind of talk... which makes women like me all nervous and scared when I drive. It's all straightforward and honest and reputable. Reputable car shops exist in this town... they're just hard to find... so... You're welcome. read more

I called for a same-day oil change this morning. They said "no problem." I arrived 30 mins later and was greeted by the very friendly Vince. He quoted me a price of $25 and said they'd do it right away. I walked over to Target & did some shopping. By the time I returned (about 30 mins), my car was ready. I want to also note that I called the Lexus dealer prior to Vince's to get their price & it was $89.99, plus it's about 15 miles away. This was a great price & friendly service. I won't be going to the dealer any more! read more

Vince was kind enough to fit me in at the last minute when I needed an oil change and a brake job. Vince explained everything to me so that I could understand what went wrong and the what he was going to do to keep me safely on the road. He also finished my car in record time and charged me a more than fair price. I ended up getting a mini tune-up, brakes and new rotors for less than what I have paid at the dealer for just the brake job. I was recommended by a friend who has been going to Vince for years and I see why. I will definitely be back. read more

If you're looking for an honest shop with fair prices, go to Vince's! My front license plate was knocked off by a fellow inept parallel parker a couple years ago. After finally getting a ticket for not having my plates properly displayed, I decided it was time to address the issue. I chose Vince's because of the positive reviews and its proximity to work. I called Vince's last night to see if someone could help me out first thing this morning. The guy on the other side of the phone said sure thing. I arrived at Vince's this morning and was helped immediately. They reattached the license plate in about 15 minutes and guess what? They didn't charge me anything! He said that because there was negligible damage to the plate and the mount, it was really no trouble at all. Mind you, it would have been easy for him to charge me at least a small fee for the work, and I would have gladly paid. Instead, no charge. What an integrity move. Next time my car needs work, I will be returning to Vince's. This is a business with values that doesn't nickle and dime customers just because they can. read more

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Vince's Auto Service in Pasadena. Call and talk to Vince, the owner. He is super friendly and accommodating -- I was a first-time customer tonight. I needed help when I was in a bind with a flat tire on an evening, knowing that I had to get to work the next day before any tire shop would be open. Vince's Auto Service really came through. I called them 15 minutes before their 7 p.m. closing desperate to get my tire repaired. Other places on yelp had closed one or two hours before, which was disappointing but I'm sure glad it led me to this gem of a find. Not only did they stay open for me, but they quickly patched my tire (stupid nail!), had a very friendly and welcoming attitude and hooked it up during a time they easily could have ripped me off. I want to recommend this place to anyone in the Pasadena area in need of an auto mechanic. I first-hand experienced tire repair, however they can also do oil changes, etc. Check them out!! They are conveniently located on Colorado Blvd, a little further and down and across the street from the nice Target in east Pasadena. I would also recommend them to anyone who takes the Goldline. You can leave your car with Vince (just on the other side of the freeway) and pick it up at the end of the day. Just sayin' read more

Vince has the three best qualities of any outstanding auto mechanic: 1. Great prices: $25 for an oil change, tire rotation, and general inspection. So inexpensive! 2. Local community supporter: Pictures of little league teams, certificates of appreciation, etc. lining Vince's office. 3. Trustworthiness: They're so friendly and honest and don't push for unwanted or unnecessary services. I'll be back (voiced in an Austrian accent). read more

I have been ripped off more times than I can remember, taking my car in to chains where they oversell you everything they can get away with. Frankly, I rather go for a root canal than bringing my car to the shop. But my life has changed for the better! Twice I have been to Vince's with my 12 year old car, both times I received exceptional and surprisingly speedy service (which with most car mechanics is a hit or miss for sure), although I could tell that they are super busy. The second time I went in I they didn't even charge me for the work! :) ....and for Christmas they sent me a Christmas card! I know it sounds silly, but It's the little things that make me like them even more. They deserve all the praise they have here. Amazing service. Go. read more

We found Vince through Yelp and we are so glad that we came to him for our pre-purchase inspection. Even though we were getting a CPO car, he was able to do a thorough inspection and found minor issues that we were able to have the dealership fix right away. Vince's Auto is the kind of place you will drive from as far away as Torrance or Thousand Oaks to take your car, because the drive is completely worth it knowing they will fix your car right (the first time) for a fair price. They are honest, fast, fair, and have the kind of customer service that creates customers for life. They tell you exactly how much everything will cost, and will NEVER do unnecessary work just to bulk up the bill. I've gone in for 80k mile maintenance on a car and they told me we didn't need to replace certain things because they still had a good 6 months on them. Anywhere else would have told me horror stories about being stranded if it wasn't replaced immediately! If you're waiting for your car to be serviced same day, they will drive you somewhere to shop or eat while you wait, and then send a car to pick you up when it's ready. I cannot recommend Vince's enough, and have sent many friends, coworkers, and even the woman who bought my car to Vince's and they have all be eternally grateful. read more

I had a nail in my tire. THE AMBIANCE: Small auto shop. Steve actually waved me into the entrance before I drove the wrong way. You literally enter into the shop. The floor is incredibly slippery then it's raining. Steve gave me the heads up and he was not joking. I felt like I was ice skating at times so I walked very slowly. THE WORK: I was in and out in a matter of 10-15 minutes. Steve was awesome. He was very friendly, conversational, and he offered me a bottle of water while I waited in their office lobby. When the work was done, Vince (the owner) came to say hello. I went away with exceptional customer service and a surprise gift. Thank you! THE TIPS: I drove past a couple of auto shops before getting to Vince's. I wouldn't change a thing :) read more

Today while driving on the freeway I drove over a piece of blown out tire that snagged a loose cover under my car and pulled it down so it was dragging on the ground. Ugh. Amazing place to get a quick oil change! I called them up and Vince said it would take 45 minutes to get service done on my car - so I dropped it off and went to the guitar shops that are nearby to waste some time (also lots of food in walking distance). I had also asked them to check a couple of things on my car that I was worried about. When I got back (I got there a little early), I sat in their little waiting area, which is nice. Once done, Vince had checked the suspension for free and saw there was nothing wrong with it. He also told me which part was likely to go first on my car model, so I would know for future reference. The best part was that he saw a brake light was out and changed it for free. I know it's just a bulb, but they did out of their own good will, which I really appreciate! The oil change itself was $25, which is a very reasonable price considering how little I had to wait and the great service. Definitely recommend it to anyone. And will come back if I actually need to get something fixed on my car! read more

I have been a HAPPY customer of the Vince's Auto Service since 1991. They have serviced our personal and company motor pool every time it has been needed. Aside from check ups, oil and fluid changes, new tires and smog checks, they have replaced three different transmissions and two motors ~ all trouble free ever since. Of course Vince and Jeff are awesome and Klaus who has been there at least 20 years is extremely knowledgeable. Really appreciate Benny and Nacho in the Taxi Staff too; I have never been left without a ride to or from my car at pick up or drop off time. Hit the EASY Button and give them a call.
