Amazing place to get a quick oil change! I called them up and Vince said it would take 45 minutes to get service done on my car - so I dropped it off and went to the guitar shops that are nearby to waste some time (also lots of food in walking distance). I had also asked them to check a couple of things on my car that I was worried about. When I got back (I got there a little early), I sat in their little waiting area, which is nice. Once done, Vince had checked the suspension for free and saw there was nothing wrong with it. He also told me which part was likely to go first on my car model, so I would know for future reference. The best part was that he saw a brake light was out and changed it for free. I know it's just a bulb, but they did out of their own good will, which I really appreciate! The oil change itself was $25, which is a very reasonable price considering how little I had to wait and the great service. Definitely recommend it to anyone. And will come back if I actually need to get something fixed on my car! read more

I have been a HAPPY customer of the Vince's Auto Service since 1991. They have serviced our personal and company motor pool every time it has been needed. Aside from check ups, oil and fluid changes, new tires and smog checks, they have replaced three different transmissions and two motors ~ all trouble free ever since. Of course Vince and Jeff are awesome and Klaus who has been there at least 20 years is extremely knowledgeable. This place is great. I have always gotten the very best service, both customer and mechanical, from Vince's. This is the first place I've lived where I've been truly satisfied with my mechanic! (And that's probably a good thing, since my car is nearing 100,000 miles and is about to turn 14.) Busy place. Great service. Had the oil changed, roughly forty minute service. Today was really hot, so waiting there was a bit uncomfortable, so follow other suggestions, and head across the street to Target. We just moved to CA and I was really dreading finding an outfit to service the cars, its been so hard to find someone I could depend on. I really hit the nail on the head with these guys. Looks can be very deceiving especially here at Vince's. Their place looks old school and the reason being is because their service is old school which is the best. They still do business the right way unlike other businesses.Vince and Jeff are extremely nice and helpful people. Jeff went beyond the call of duty and did more than he should have. I only went there for the high ratings and the living social special I got, AND I DO NOT regret going there. Jeff gave me a fast quote for my breaks that I needed without a hassle and suggested I get new tires soon, as well. So he went ahead and called about 3 different people to give me different options. It seemed like a hassle but he did not care and instead gave me the satisfaction. I was extremely happy that I could have someone like them fix my car. Very trustworthy, indeed! We have taken our cars to Vince's for several years now. They have always been honest and forthright with us. They let us know what service is due based on the manufacturer's recommendations, but they don't push, and they never add extra services. I recently had my car in for repair, and I mentioned that I thought it was time for a timing belt. It turned out they had done the timing belt on the previous visit, I had just forgotten, and they checked their records and let me know. There may be cheaper places, but quality is worth it in the long run. read more

I very much appreciated the service I recieved with Vince and his shop, and, I will definately bring my vehicle back. As background, I purchase a used vehicle elsewhere. Shortly after the purchase, I experienced problems, had the vehicle inspected at a chain location and learned that costly repairs were ahead - significant oil leak, fault with fueling system, there was a hole in an axle boot (CV joint), and brake fluid had become corrosive. At a 2nd shop, I had another inspection and got an estimate for repairs. Because I did not get a good feel from the 2nd shop, I searched online and decided upon Vince's shop. Yelp helped guide me here. And I am glad it did. I shared information about the previous two visits and that I generally expected that a lot of work was needed. I probably should not have indicated this, but what the heck. While my vehicle was with Vince, I got timely updates about progress and the diagnosis I got revealed that I needed fewer repairs, different repairs, some of it did not require costly parts - only labor - and the impact to my wallet would be much less. I went ahead with repairs and my vehicle is now a champ. No oil leaks. No sensors activating. And more money remains in my wallet. I will definately recommend Vince's Auto Services to others. What is also great, his shop is within walking distance to the Metro Gold Line at the Sierra Madre Villa Station. I'm writing this review based on my visit to Vince's about two months ago. I was getting started on a long six-hour drive to Berkeley when my Check Engine light came on. I didn't want to risk getting stuck on the I-5 next to a cow farm, so I decided I should drop my car off at a mechanic. It must have been my lucky day! It just so happened that I was driving by Pasadena when I searched "mechanic" on Yelp, and decided to head over to Vince's based on the many great reviews. Not only were they extremely helpful and patient in hearing me out, they helped me get a rental car from Enterprise next door at a "Vince's special rate" so that I could get on my way to Berkeley. I left my car at Vince's over the weekend, and he called me 3 times over the next 2 days to keep me updated on progress and completion. They are clearly professionals who love and are excellent at what they are doing, and if you just look at the number of high-end cars parked in their little shop, you know I'm not alone in thinking so. read more

Excellent, honest service from a mechanic that genuinely cares! I made the mistake of taking my car to The Oilmen in El Monte yesterday, and I ended up with an overfilled tank. Vince's shop was the only place left open (with a good Yelp rep!) when I got out of work today, and boy, was I lucky! He saved my car and painstakingly took out almost an entire quart of overfilled oil through the top of the engine for zero charge. I wanted to believe in the positive reviews, but I can't especially now. In January 2017 came in for a break inspection. Was charged $739.79 for new pads and rotors, front and back. Was told it would have been $1K if the parts were genuine Honda. Eight months later, my breaks are making noise. Took the car to Honda and was told I need new breaks!!!! Total cost-$540!!! My advice...call around, include your dealer who may have a vested interest in honesty and integrity to keep your business. read more

New to Pasadena and shopping for a used car, I was looking for a mechanic to do a pre-purchase inspection. Vince's got good reviews on Yelp and was open when I searched, so I decided to check them out. Told me they'd do up to three inspections for $90, after which I had to fork over another $90. I had reasonably bad luck finding the car I wanted at a reasonable price, and did use all three of my inspections. Sympathizing, they offered to do another inspection for me, free of charge. The guys at Vince's were thorough, itemized necessary repairs for each car, and gave me a lot of useful input about what I should be paying for each vehicle. I found vinces on yelp and went there for tire repair only so I don't know how the rest of the services are. They kept a simple project simple so I can only imagine that if auto work needed to be done they'd do a great job. Jeff is a really friendly guy and so were the rest of the guys that helped us out. He said it was going to take 15 to 20 minutes to fix and he was exactly right. I love when auto guys are on time. Their rate for tire repair is 12 bucks but when it came time to pay, I only had 11 in cash so Jeff took it and said we'd call it even. (I meant to write this review a couple of months ago.) Back in August, when temps were consistently in the upper 90's, the A/C condenser on my 2016 Honda Civic went out. I had gone to Honda to get an estimate for the repair and they gave me an outrageous number. I was lucky to find Vince, who not only did an amazing job repairing my A/C, but also put on a mesh screen to protect the condenser from gravel and debris in the future. I was also pleasantly surprised that he has an employee who drives customers to the nearby mall if they have a long job to wait for (as I did). I came here during my 85000 miles service, completely satisfied, forgot to write a review. No second thoughts, came back last weekend for the 90000 miles service. Took a few hours since they need to change my engine belt and it's raining very hard. Vince double check with Toyota and my Maintenance Schedule Book, and they did everything. Monday, my oil is leaking, bring the car back to Vince early morning on Tuesday, they worked on it, found my cap is busted, change and re-test to make sure everything is fine. These guys are great! My tire had a slow leak that I couldn't figure out so I hopped on yelp and found Vince's. I stopped in without an appointment or calling ahead and Vince told me they could get me in in 20 min when his tire guy showed up. I came back and they saw me right away. They tested all my tires and found the nail that was causing the leak, patched it, and sent me on my way for FREE! Vince said there was no charge so long as I came back and I definitely will be coming back next time I have an issue. read more
