Had a flat. Asked them to take a picture of the flat for my warranty claim. They quoted me 252 for one tire over the phone. I agreed. Got there and my car was on the left. They told me it was actually 275. I said fine and paid. Asked them for a statement stating which tire was replaced for the warranty. Guy said he could provide but would have to charge me an extra 30 dollars in taxes for it. Not as trustworthy shop. Avoid if possible. read more

This place has the most reasonable rates for auto repair in Pasadena. Highly recommended . Talk to ART . I went to 5 , 6 repair shops to get pricing on replacing my cv axles on my car . I got some ridiculous and outrages prices . Almost as bad as the dealership. I'm glad I stopped here . Art quoted me a price I couldn't believe. I had to ask him twice to make sure I heard him correctly. At first I thought he gave me a price for only one side. They replaced my cv axles left and right brand new , for a great price. LOL this place really tried to rip me off. The splash guard had come off from the bottom of my car because of debris from the freeway hitting me so I just needed someone to help take it off. I would do it myself but I don't have a Jack. This guy really tried to charge me $40 probably because I am a femme presenting woman and he saw that as naivety. I called two other places and both said it would take no more than 5 minutes and offered to do it for me for free. I'm not trying to cheat anyone out of money and am willing to pay for my services, but come on dude. This makes me believe that they would rip you off on any service you got done here. Lost my trust and any potential business from me. When I told the mechanic that I went to down the street they agreed with me that he was trying to rip me off. I got the service done in like 5 minutes and tipped the mechanics who took it off for me. Thanks for nothing dude your sexism sucks. read more

I have 2 job interviews in the Bay Area tomorrow, low coolant level, and the Subaru Service Center is closed today (Sunday). I called up, Art explained to me that what I needed to check was the coolant level in the radiator not the reservoir, and then he offered for me to come in and he would help look at it. I came in, he was waiting inside and we shook hands and he knew I was the "Subaru guy", and he came outside with me, took a look at it, twisted the radiator cap off slightly to ensure that there was adequate fluid, and then offered to top me off with Blue OEM coolant. He topped me off with coolant, and afterwards, I offered to pay him something and he refused, he just wanted to help me out. Thank you Art and S&A, it is really rare to find someone who has their business model centered around wanting to help, this was a blessing. Okay, my review will be kind of long but it needs to be !! I originally took my car to Mercedez Benz in Arcadia. They told me that I needed a new tire because there was a nail in one of them. The tire would cost $320 if I got it fixed there. For some reason, I did not feel that I needed a new tire since my car is not even a year old! Anyway, I took my car to S&A. I did not tell them that the Arcadia dealership told me I needed a new tire! I told them, "there's a nail in one of my tires, can you patch it up?" So, the mechanic tells me , "oh yeah, there's a nail in it". We can patch it up for sure. I asked, "do I need a new tire ? " He said, "no"! I go eat, and when I return, he says, "it turns out you don't even need a patch, the nail did not penetrate deep enough!! I was shocked since Arcadia wanted to sell me a brand new tire !! I then tried to give him a tip and he absolutely refused !! This is a reason I gave it 5 starts!! I wish I could give them more!! read more

I planned a surprise birthday party for my BFF. For his birthday, he wanted to go to disneyland to take advantage of their 'get in for free on your birthday' deal. I needed a good way to keep him in town, since I'd succeeded in getting 25 people to come from other states and SD. One thing about my BFF is that there's no deterring him from his goal once he puts his mind to it. He was going to go to disneyland on his own If I didn't find a good way to stop him. My solution was to let the air out of two of his tires on the same side. If I'd flattened one of them, he'd just change out the spare and want to still go. This was no good. I let out the air out of the tires and made like he must have run over something. This pissed him off to no end when he saw that his brand new tires had flats in not one, but two tires. He called AAA and they decided to try putting air in the tires, but he wanted to get the tires checked out by a tire shop. We went to S&A auto due to some recommendations from a friend. I was worried that they were going to try to rip us off since I knew damn well there was nothing wrong with the tire. 1.5 hours later(I was stalling, I bet they were done earlier), they tell us the diagnosis that there was nothing wrong with the tires that they could find. Cost? Nada! They charged him nothing for the inspection! I was going to pay for anything under the guise of being his birthday. Thank you S&A. For being do honest! Put it this way - Lyndon Johnson was President when I got that car, and the main activity of most young men was figuring out how NOT to be sent to Vietnam (I was not one of them). I needed to put new tires on a Mercedes SUV I only buy continental tires for our Mercedes and BMW M4. I went online to find my tires on continentals website then hit store locator. I called 2 big box tires centers in pasadena. Neither carried the tires and did not want to order them. I then read the review for S and A. Ok I went in and asked about the tire promo rebate from Continental. He said I could do that if I wanted online. OK then he said he could save me money on the tires I wanted. I saved 250.00 He said he could have the tires in two days.. Ok I pulled out my CC he said he needed a deposit. I said just charge me the full amount. I also needed an alignment and the suv is a 4 wheel drive. Usually an alignment on this car would be double the cost of a 2 wheel drive. No he only charged me the normal 70 dollars instead of 140 I am beyond happy and what great customer service. I paid in 10 minutes dropped the car off to have the tires put on and alignment and was done in one hour. GREAT JOB GUYS. I strongly suggest supporting the mom and pop stores they still care about Customer service. FYI the other day an older woman in a newer mini had a nail in her run flats.
