Wasu has been the mechanic of the family since around 2006, my son was the first to use his services when he bought his 2004 Nissan Sentra, Later on, my son gave the car to my younger daughter, and she gave it to her little sister some years ago. Even though the shop mainly works on Nissans, they do maintenance and some repairs on other brands. I trusted them with my Mercury Villager, which we retired after 23 years of being the family's car. They still keep the Sentra running and I trust them with my 2016 Honda HRV with the maintenance and some repairs. I desperately needed a place to take my 2004 G35 Coupe out of warranty because the dealership was going to charge an arm and leg. I made a quick phone call to make an appointment as my car needed to be towed to this location. The person that picked up the phone was "Wasu". He was extremely professional and answered all the questions that I had. He gave me a straightforward price and didn't try to upsell me on anything. The next morning, I towed my car there and Wasu greeted me. We went over everything that we needed to complete on the car (brakes, battery, oil change, and screeching during the cold mornings). With all that needed to be done, he said that they could have everything ready for me that day. Awesome! I also stated that I needed a smog check, he said he could do that too! It then became a one-stop shop! Such convenience. He did everything for me and didn't charge me to take care of the screeching problem. This business definitely gets a "5" star. I cannot say thank you enough. Dealer claimed that I had an oil, coolant, and power steering leak. Came to Autotech for a second opinion and found out all I needed to change was my water pump! Saved me hundreds of extra precious dineros that might have gone down the drain. Made an appointment and the car was ready an hour or two ahead of time. Very refreshing. To the guy who mentioned that Beck warning him the "work costing more than the car was worth" -- I actually think he was trying to help you out. If you drive a Nissan and live anywhere within a 30 min drive from Pasadena, take your car to Beck (He's Thai, but goes by Beck). Many, many moons ago, he worked for Wondries Nissan but then he started his own shop. Why should you use him? He's honest, does a great job, and has respect for his customers. The first time I tried him was when I had an exhaust manifold leak. The dealer told me it would be $700. That was a lot of money for a poor grad student. I took it to a bunch of other places, and the feeling I got was that they all saw my car as a cash machine. I took it to Beck who told me the following: 1. The root cause of the problem (Nissan decided to use different materials for the two sides of the manifold, thus ensuring thermal mismatch - stress - cracking - leak), 2. That he could fix it, but that the problem would reappear in a few years, 3. For about 1/2 the price, he could do a simple fix that would last almost as long and solve my problem. So he basically cost himself a few hundred bucks that day, but he secured my patronage forever. He's always been extremely good at explaining whatever was happening and he never, ever makes you feel like you've been slimed. His shop is very clean (which I think speaks volumes about the owner of a shop), and his customers are very loyal (every customer that comes in seems to have known him for a decade) If you've been going to him long enough, he'll also work on other makes (I bring my toyota to him also). Even though it takes longer than Jiffy Lube, I take both my cars there for all the small stuff. Gotta support those who do things right! Having recently acquired a older Nissan Murino I need a mechanic. Checking Yelp I found Wasu at Auto Tech by Beck, this shop is the best! I have saved hundreds here in just two visits! My headlights seemed out of adjustment, I took it to a AAA headlamp shop and they wanted to charge $240.00 for the two lamps plus labor ( they wanted to remove the front bumper and grill over 3 hours labor @ $85/hour). At Auto Tech by Beck it only cost 245.00 parts, labor and tax. I saved over $250.00 on my 90K service. I started going there when I bought my old, old Nissan truck about 3 years ago from someone, and they had a license plate frame that advertised him. And I have never, ever been disappointed. Honest to a fault, helpful, and just a good guy. He recognizes his customers, and can quickly find problems. Twice I've gone in with a problem, and left, him having fixed it for free. Other repairs have all been effective and very, very reasonably priced - and have never had a problem with them. The only downside is that it can take a little bit - because he's busy because he does such good work. But, for my car repairs, when you get two out of three of "Good, Cheap and Fast" I'll take Good and Cheap... which is what Beck does. He's wonderful. read more

Even though they usually work Nissans and Infiniti's, I took my Honda there for an oil change awhile back and Wasu (Beck's nephew who took over) took care of it for me! I also asked them to clean my air filters and Wasu hooked it up (: The shop is clean and doesn't smell like death. The staff was proper and friendly. They got the job done in a timely manner. It's also very easy to schedule an appointment which works for me since I don't like to waste my time. Second time I took my car there is because it starts overheating everytime I turn on the AC and even though they didn't have the parts there, they were able to order it in and schedule me for another day to install it. A family friend told me about this place, and never in my life have I taken my car in, just to get it's 'check-up' (it was long overdue) only to have them hand me back my keys and say "nothing needs fixing".
