Ask for Jim. A good guy. Having a classic car and finding mechanics difficult. My '68 Ford F-100 had a disk brake issue. Jim took it in the next day and it was fixed in about 90 minutes. He also showed me that the alignment was bad. He doesn't do that service so it wasn't an upsell. Brakes are great now. I took it to another shop today for the alignment. I used Andy's in Glendale. Likewise an awesome shop. Both were reasonable and did the job right. Friendly too. It's really nice to find reliable mechanics for a classic vehicle. They're hard to find!!! read more

I needed to have my headlight socket replaced in my 2016 Hyundai Tucson and found this place on Yelp. I took my car in on my lunch break and Jim was very quick to help me and give me a quote. He told me he would have to order the part if I wanted it OEM and quoted me the price. He then said he had an aftermarket piece that was just as good for a fraction of the price and would be done by the end of the day. We settled on that and it was done by the time I was off work at 4pm. Hands down 10 out of 10 Customer Service! The owner Jim was super friendly, warm and genuine in his approach and made you feel like family. This was the 5th place I been to that day including the dealership to try and fix my passenger window that would not roll up. The other places were either only taking appointments, didn't have the parts, and one mechanic quoted me $2800 and would take 8-10 days. After reading some of the great reviews on yelp, I decided to take a chance and so glad that I did! Jim immediately took a look at my car and with a smile said he can fix it no problem! As promised within the hour he diagnosed the issue and quoted me $1600, which was far cheaper than what the other mechanic quoted. Jim said he had connections and could get the part and have my car ready the next day! This was a breath of fresh air considering the day I had had driving all over town to various mechanics, a body shop and dealership. After meeting Jim, I can see how his positive energy allows him to gain people's trust and build connections with other auto centers to ensure fast service. Super fast none sense service and repairs done without any issues so far . Good business transaction. I got quoted 1300$ at the dealership and Jim gave me a quote of 900$. I did have some parts from the diy shops and the mechanic didn't give me back my original parts or my repair kit. And as part of the repair, you have to take out the drive belt and put it back on. Which I asked for the new drive belt to be installed. He charged me 50$. Honestly, I could of done that part myself. But am not mad. Pretty good deal and it's not a big deal. If you're a single woman, don't go here. I was cut off in traffic, slammed on my brakes, and lost almost all tension/pressure in my brake pedal (potential brake line burst). I was desperate and came here because they were the only open place on a Saturday that would take me. They charged me over $900 and it was never explained what the actual problem was. Most of my bill was labor- they charge $180/hour for labor, for anyone shopping around. I think they assumed that I didn't know any better as a woman, and they changed my oil and charged me for it without asking- I had my oil changed less than two months ago and definitely didn't need to add $85 onto my bill. The owner kept commenting on my appearance, and I was alone there with him and another male mechanic. They were both much larger than me, so I just wanted to get out of there. I regret not challenging them on what I believe was them taking advantage of me, but in the moment I was more worried about placating and not upsetting either man. read more

The owner is a really sweet man and very honest. I call him every time the dealership tries to upsell me and he will tell me honestly what is and is not worth doing. I have a lot of great things to say about this place. First of all, Jim is a very professional and down to earth person who really cares about his customers. I was treated with respect the second I walked in. As a young adult, this isn't what I am used to at other shops. Jim's shop was one of the only ones in the area open on a Saturday. I was in bad need of a new alternator which he quickly identified as being the problem. He had me come over and finished the job the day of. While my headlight issue was unfortunately happening again after the alternator change, I let Jim know and he immediately responded and had me come back to his shop right away to figure it all out. It is with immense gratitude that I thank him for having then changed my whole light switch unit AT NO COST. Being a college student with very limited resources, this act of kindness was greatly appreciated. And him and his coworkers did a lot of work in short delays just for me to hit the road in time for my obligations. I had my car towed their last minute when it broke down. I got their 2 hours before closing time and they were obviously busy and had a full of garage vehicles to work on. I've been debating whether or not to write a review for several weeks since my car was repaired. I finally decided it was important to share my experience. My car was making a funny noise and since I was new to the area I looked on Yelp to find a well-reviewed auto shop. I called Arroyo Auto Center and spoke with Jim. He seemed super nice so I brought my car in. He checked it out and told me the engine mounts were bad and that I would need to replace them. He estimated the entire repair at about $950 including 4 hours of labor. He didn't show me any paperwork or anything and asked me to pay upfront. I could pay in full or half. I paid in full based on all these great reviews and how nice he seemed. I brought my car in when he got the parts. He drove me back to my house at 12:30 pm and said he would call me when it was done. He called me at 3 pm and said it was done. He then told me that his mechanic also had found that my fan belt and some other associated part were bad and that he had replaced them for me. There was silence on the phone so I asked him how much extra that was going to be. He said, "$200." At this point, I told him I had just had a mechanic check my fan belt before a long trip and that I was not going to pay for parts and labor I had not agreed to. He got upset with me and argued about how honest he was. He then came to pick me up and continued to tell me my mechanic was wrong and how he's a good businessman. He showed me my old fan belt and it had a tiny little nick in it. The paperwork, when I finally got it, showed 4 hours of work at $110/hr. The time I dropped the car off and was called to pick it up was approximately 2 to 2.5 hours and that is including the extra work on the "bad" fan belt and parts. He took complete advantage of me by overestimating the job and then tried to get me to pay even more for work I did not authorize. Lesson learned. I will never again pay upfront for work and will ask for the estimate in writing ahead of time. I made the mistake of trusting this man and he not only ripped me off, he thought I was so stupid that I would give him MORE money for work that did not need to be done. BUYER BEWARE... demand he put EVERYTHING in writing and keep track of how long the work takes so you don't pay for more hours than the job takes.. read more
