Very good energy from consulting with Eddie!! My check engine light went on and I went to get my engine code from the auto store, I asked who they recommended that was good and affordable and they sent me here. While I was there, I asked him about other issues I was worried about with my car and Eddie reassured me that a lot of the things were OK and did not need to be fixed at the moment. It was a very positive feeling because he didn't try to push services on me or upsell me on anything. He was also very honest about cost of materials and labor. He also let me know things I could fix on my own and gave me instructions on how to do that. If you are a woman, you can feel safe going to this place. Often times, being female, we can put off repairs because we don't want to worry about getting overcharged or someone talking to us in a disrespectful manner, but Eddie was super friendly and honest. He even suggested an autobody shop for me to go to since I asked about body work. He said he would call the owner to let him know I was coming and then he actually showed up there himself. We set an appointment at which time I was greeted and the work commenced. Two man shop; they just do transmissions. They drained old oil, dropped the pan, inspected and showed me a sizable crack in the seal gasket, which explained the underfilled reservoir. No metal shavings. They installed new gasket and a new filter. They did not try to sell me anything extra, they explained every finding, and they stuck to the originally quoted price told to me in my screening phone call. Pleasant experience. The first time I came was for an oil change and tire rotation. The price that I was charged here was less than what the Honda dealership across the street used to charge me. I've one been coming to this shop for years Manny and Edwin have always been helpful. Anyone looking for good prices and honest opinions you should come here. Due to Covid-19 the business has been overwhelmed with work so they do what can to get the job done as fast they can, sometimes depending on what part's the car needs it can take long sometimes up to months I took my 2011 bmw 535 minor issues with the steering wheel. Edwin guided me through what the issues were and what needed to be done the pain in the butt was getting the right part. Luckily I had another car but it took 2 months of trying parts lf and off to get the exact part. I've tried myself at the junk yards, online, and car shops. So just keep in mind to maybe have a backup car if you do plan to leave car for repairs. You get what you pay for and these guys never disappoint read more

Manny at Classic Transmission saved my butt. My 2000 Honda CR-V's automatic transmission was nearing the end of its life. I really need the use of a car to get to and from my workplaces, but I don't have enormous wads of cash to throw around. I'm also relatively new to the area, so I have very little experience dealing with mechanics around here. Not knowing precisely who to trust, I did as much research as possible before making a decision on who to give my business to. For the job of rebuilding my transmission, I contacted almost a dozen mechanics and received quotes ranging from $1,800 to $3,300. Manny's quote was the $1,800--that included any extra parts he might need to order. A bit of a gamble, I thought, taking it to the person quoting the absolute lowest price, but I went for it. When I dropped off the car, Manny took the time to show me an automatic transmission unit and explain exactly what he may need to do with my car's transmission. He called a few days later with a status update. My transmission was in pretty bad shape, but much to my relief, he stuck with his original quote of $1,800. A couple days later (about a week after giving him the car), he finished the job and surprised me with a $70 discount--that's in addition to the Yelp voucher he honored! The drive feels great now, and his work came with a 1-year warranty. I'll update this review if anything happens with my car's transmission again and need to take it back to Classic. read more

Drop Off: 7/6/2015 Alright... So I had been calling around looking for someone to rebuild the transmission in my 73 Chevelle. I spoke with a gentleman named Manny over the phone who quoted me $1200 - $1400 (The lowest price Id heard). Manny took the time to explain everything they would do and an estimate. Naturally I stroll on over there and drop my car off. To my surprise, the price included a shift kit and a 1 yr, 12,000 mile warranty. Cant beat that. I'll get my car back in a few days so I will update with the results. They have great customer service tho, Hard to find. Update: 7/10/2015 Just went by to check on the progress of my trans rebuild. To my pleasant surprise they had my trans out and all the bad parts laid out for analysis. They had replaced all the bad parts with newer stronger heat resistant ones (Band and clutches). Upgraded the servo and replaced the torque converter. He said it would be done tonight or tomorrow. Cant wait to test drive. I'll update again after i pick it up. I'm incredibly impressed with the service these folks have provided me. He really walked me thru every part and showed me where the trans failed, what parts he replaced and what upgrades he made. I'm annoying and I know it. I call daily to check up on my car cuz I've been burned in the past. Classic Transmission is a class act and an A+ rated shop in my opinion. Their knowledge and service deserve more than a 5 star yelp review, but this is the least I can do. Thank you gentleman. Update: 7/13/2015 Picked up my car this morning and boy ol' boy am I a happy customer. car shifts firmer than ever before. Manny did a great job on the rebuild. Shift points are perfect for me. Not so harsh it snaps my neck but I can feel the quicker shifts. The TransGo Shift kit Manny put in was just right. The rebuild came with a 1 year parts and labor warranty. Manny and his team are the absolute best. I had a 2001 Ford Escape, and one day first and second gear were totally gone - I had reverse and nothing else. I got the car towed over and they did a complete rebuild on the transmission in less than a week. What's more, they fixed a couple things they noticed in the steering column and shift cable along the way, things I would have never known were a problem (until my car died again!). I can't recommend them highly enough - it's a fantastic shop run by conscientious, kind people. They've got our business as long as we're driving cars! read more
