I've had oil changes, transmission fluid, radiator fluid, and air filters done because the price isn't that bad and it's just so convenient. I figure I might as well get it done while I'm there instead of never going in somewhere else. The staff at this location are always very helpful and I never feel pressured to purchase any additional services unless I need them. Wow - super friendly and super efficient! Like a Indy pit stop. Oil change, tire rotation, alignments and fluids topped off all in less than 30 mins! They also replace windshield wipers and some lights if needed. And you stay inside your car! I usually do the dealership but decided to try valvoline which was very impressive. Went in for an oil change and she asked if I wanted to have the tires rotated I opted to do it. After the oil change was finished I was told that because all four of my tires were so under on air pressure around 25 psi when the should be 32 or 33 psi, the supervisor on duty suggested that I might some kind of leak in all four tires and they couldn't perform the rotation. Now it sounded pretty outlandish but I had just watched them do a rotation on the car that was ahead of me in line, they also added air to the tires. So of course I said ok I will look into it, paid, and left. I checked the pressure of all 4 tires the next morning using my personal pressure gauge, they were all fine. Checked again using the gas station gauge less than 5 minutes from my house and they were fine there as well. Finally took it to a different gas station the next morning less than a mile from my house just in case, and again they were fine. By fine I mean all around 32 psi. One was actually over at about 33 1/2... Anyway, as someone that commutes 3 hours round trip a day to work, from Pasadena to the high desert, I typically monitor things like my tires, headlights, brake lights, windshield washer fluid, etc. So I wasn't surprised they were fine. After not seeing an issue I chalked it up to either their equipment was broken, or they were just too busy. I had waited more than 30 minutes to get in myself and the lines kept growing even after my car was being worked on. I ended up hoping it was just a lie because they were busy also, because like I said before, I had seen them rotate and air up the tires of the car in front of me, and most people hopefully understand how dangerous it is to drive around on tires that are not properly pressurized. So I was annoyed that they probably lied due to being busy but just figured whatever I still got the oil change and I have no issues with my tires. Well that's what I thought until my car suddenly went into limp mode, with the EPC, and battery light illuminating 45 minutes into my commute to work one morning a couple of weeks ago. Now I didn't know what was wrong with it but it's pretty nerve wracking to suddenly lose the ability to accelerate while in the fast lane during your morning drive. Had my car towed to the dealership here in Pasadena, and found out my car had next to no oil in it, and the oil that was in it was so thick they said there was no way it was new. Also, due to the lack of oil it wasn't properly lubricating what it was supposed to which had cause damage to a sensor along with other areas that needed to be cleaned. I told him I just had it changed less than two months ago 8/24 to 10/14 and he was shocked given the condition the oil was in. Now I do drive a lot but it had only been around 5000 miles and and my car can go to 10,000, and I usually get an oil change between 5 and 8000. I have never had a problem and have had the car for 12 years and have put just over 100,000 miles on it. Anyway, $1000 later for the service alone and I am back on road and have decided I will never go back to Valvoline for an oil change again, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone else either! DO NOT COME HERE. UNLESS YOU WANT A CAR THAT STOPS WORKING THEN THIS IS THE PERFECT PLACE. If I can give negative stars I would. As a matter of fact I would rate it a black hole, since black holes eat stars. I brought my wife's car here for a simple oil change. A couple days later, the car wouldn't turn on anymore. Long story short, $1200 to fix it. I thought it was weird because the car is not old nor has a lot of miles, under 50k. I didn't think much of it until a few months later I brought my sister in law's car here for a simple oil change again. The same day the check engine light came on and the car rattled when turning on. I realized both cars issues were probably related to Valvoline. I took the car back and asked them to check it, and all they said was "take it to a mechanic". The car is currently at the dealer right now, probably gonna have to spend over $1000 again. I had just hit 3000 miles and am used to getting an oil change every 3000 miles on my old car. They told me it was too soon, that I didn't really need it but would be happy to check my oil levels. They did and they were right I did not need. While I was there they topped off my fluids and checks my tired pressure and filled my low pressure tires complimentary. Terrible place. My check engine light came on and I was about due for an oil change so I thought I would go in and see, maybe it was just a fluid issue. Turns out I was almost empty on coolant. They said they would top off my fluids and also add the coolant to my reservoir. Now here I am with an engine smoking, overheated and oil is leaking everywhere (especially from my oil filter). I have never seen the underside of my car wet and leaking like this before (I've owned it for 12yrs). I ONLY came in to get an oil change to find out if I had any issues / low on fluid, NOT TO HAVE YOU MESS UP MY CAR. I normally wait 1k-2k more miles to get an oil change. I see other people have mentioned this same issue. I wasted $59 and am now stuck on the side of the road with even more problems than I came in with. I asked twice to make sure the coolant reservoir had been filled. I am a regular customer of Valvoline and this was the 2nd time I've been to this location. Never again. Looking at my receipt it shows they acknowledged "severe" leaks for oil and transmission fluid, NOBODY mentioned an oil leak to me, and I even had looked under my car when the check engine light had gone on, there was only a transmission pan leak (ongoing) that is not a major issue. Nobody warned me of "severe" leaks or an OIL leak. I have never seen my engine wet with oil until after this oil change. Regardless why would you send someone with an empty coolant reservoir who asked you to include that service on their oil change away with an EMPTY reservoir? Incompetence. read more

Do not waste your time going to this location if you have a Kia or a Hyundai, you won't trust waste your time sitting in the parking lot line for them not to have the oil filter part. There is some sort of national shortage on Kia and Hyundai oil filters not only did I sit there for 25 minutes before anyone talked to me but I had to ask if they even had the part. At that time they went to check and came back and told me no you would think since they know that there is an issue with parts they would've said some thing right away. Only go here if you feel like we staying 30 minutes to an hour of your day for nothing to be done. Btw the girl on the phone told me there was a National shortage on parts. Do this is something they know at the location. I asked if I got my own filter how much would it be. They said slight discount. Not sure what that means. But not risking being ripped off. The worst service I ever received. The oil indicator was on and I asked them to check the oil level post a oil change 3 days prior. The manager removed the oil plug from my car. My car was vandalized at the Pasadena location. I always maintain the maintenance on my car. What service they did provide was adding too much oil the light for oil and check the engine both stayed on. My mechanic said as a result I need a new transmission. 6 days without a car!! I work 45 minutes away. It's a major inconvenience I probably will have to buy a new car as a result! Don't use this company there's no sense of urgency for the customer and the impact of their negligence. I created a claim 5 days ago I need to discuss the matter with the upper management in corporate. I created a claim and I had no success. They only refunded my money. Though there was no problem prior to the oil change, it coast me 1 month of being without a car and $987 in repairs. I will never use Valvoline ever again!!! Promise read more
