Visited Just Spoon's Cafe in Broward and ordered the Dwight flight. Came with curry shrimp & grits, fried catfish & grits and stiffed salmon & grits. The stuffed salmon & grits had a really uncared for taste. We spoke with our server (Meme) who was great) she spoke with the front house manager (JOE) who stated, I understand but my hands are tied." The stuffed salmon bowl was UNTOUCHED!!!!!! Unfortunately they were not able to accommodate us with another option. That was HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING..... I recommended to Joe that he should probably have his staff cook that dish for him so that he could be made aware of the taste...... Our waitress Kea was very helpful and knowledgeable of the menu. She explained how the banana bread pudding was coming out and I was sold. The young lady said yes! I come the day of at 10:00am to celebrate Mother's Day with my fiancée and three old daughter & was told to wait on the wishlist. This is a nice cozy spot , with subtle music playing in the background. The space is welcoming and has adequate seating. The mango lemonade was a great thirst quencher . Price wise, I think could be more reasonable but the portion size is worth it. I legit wanted to take a nap after this meal. I came hungry and couldn't even finish. Visited Just Spoons for lunch after reading about it online. The decor is very 1920's, very dark and cozy. We were greeted at the door and shown to our table and given menus. I selected the chicken sandwich and my partner selected the whole fish. I was warned that the chicken sandwich is spicy, but I like a little heat so I said that was fine. While we were waiting, the waitress brought us a complimentary honey butter, croissant and a honey butter biscuit. My partner liked the croissant so much he ordered another one. The music was very loud l, especially considering the size of the restaurant, but was told they were unable to adjust the volume. After a while, the food came out and the presentation was very nice. I took a bite of my sandwich and they are not joking about the heat. It was so hot spice wise, I could not even eat two bites. I also finished my drink very quickly and it was not refilled, so I sat there with a burning mouth for a long time until I got a refill. My partner enjoyed the fish and sadly, I just sat there and watched him eat. I must say, the potato wedges are delicious. Towards the end of the meal, I went to the restroom and the floor inside and in the hallway were so slippery I almost slipped 3 times, so I let the waitress know. Gratuity is included in the bill and the waitress told us multiple times that they split tips with everyone and extra is appreciated. The bill was $146 after tax, tip, and extra tip, pretty pricey for lunch, in my opinion, but YOLO! I did take my sandwich home and rinsed it off and reheated it in the airfryer. This place is a 10 out of 10 for me. You normally need to place a reservation. But it just so happens that someone cancel their reservation and they made accommodations for us to sit. The food was so tasty. It wasn't salty. The waitress made some good recommendation which I love. I don't eat meat, so I'm glad that they had pescatarian options. Let's get into the drinks : Brunch punch is a must have. So delicious, presentation 10 out of 10, and perfect balance of flavors. I had fried lobster, home fries and eggs. The pork chops were incredibly tender and juicy, and the grits--wow--some of the best I've had in Florida. Typically, Florida grits don't impress me; they're often bland or just not quite right. I travel a lot to places like Atlanta and Houston, and I can confidently say the creamy grits here could compete with the best. The eggs were fluffy and well-cooked, but honestly, I'd return just for the grits. As for the mimosas, they were pretty good. I go to brunch spots often, and mimosas can get a bit boring, but these had a unique twist that made them a must-try. If you're a lychee lover like me, I highly recommend the lychee mimosas! The service was great, though the space felt a bit cramped, with everyone close together. Be sure to make a reservation, or you'll likely be waiting a while. However it's a nice vibe, good artistry, and we were seated quickly. However, since it was just 2 of us we were seated in the corner; my seat was facing a window with a not-so-great exterior view. So, try to book a table of 4 or more so you're seated in a better part of the restaurant. Good part is that there wasn't a crowded feeling. Onto the food: again, so good. We ordered the curry shrimp and grits and the fried chicken and vanilla bean French toast. That fried chicken was so tasty. Seasoned the way the best fried chicken I've ever had was seasoned. I can't explain it but it's very specific. That curry shrimp was also very good and filling. The shrimp was big and the grits were nice and creamy, thick but not too thick. For drinks we had the Fruity Wet Wet (non-alcoholic) and the Juicy Bloom Mimosa. Both had a bit of sherbet on it which I always love w/ my drinks. The wet wet was definitely delicious. Overall: it's a place you want to visit several times to taste all the different things on the menu. I'd rearrange the seating a bit, especially for smaller parties, but the food definitely made up for it. Kudos to the management team for keeping everything moving smoothly.
