Marian's Bagels - Bagels Near Me - Plantation, Florida

I placed a takeout order at Marian's yesterday that included two smoked salmon bagels and two tuna platters with bagel chips. Ordering online was easy, and pickup itself was quick and straightforward. However, when I got home, I realized that both tuna platters were missing the bagel chips--so essentially I paid $17 each for just two scoops of tuna. I called the restaurant and was told they were out of bagel chips. That explanation raised more questions than it answered. If an item is unavailable, why not notify the customer? A quick call, or even mentioning it at pickup, would have gone a long way. I would have happily substituted for a bagel or chosen something else. Instead, I had to drive all the way back to the restaurant. By that point, I was understandably frustrated, and the response at the counter didn't help--the staff seemed indifferent. They did replace the missing items with bagels, which I appreciate, but the overall experience was disappointing. I used to really enjoy Marian's under the previous ownership and was a regular customer. Unfortunately, since the change in ownership, the quality of service seems to have declined. We decided to give it another try, but this experience confirmed that it's just not worth it anymore. Disappointing, because this used to be a go-to spot. read more

Looks like they changed their bagels again. Ordered 2 salt with nova cream cheese. They were hard and tough to chew. Couldn't even tear them apart. Server said the owner is now using sourdough for the bagels. Been here a lot of times. Time to find a new bagel spot read more

Came here for breakfast. Sat outside and served by Marcel who was very friendly and attentive. Hubby's nova / cream cheese and bagel were good, as was my scoop of whitefish and sesame bagel. Got a ( baker's ) dozen of bagels for over $24...not sure if that's the standard for this area but exorbitant in my book. read more

I really wanted to give the spot five stars because the food was so good but had to drop to a four because the service was absolutely terrible. Once we were seated outside by the hostess, we waited a significant amount of time before the gentleman busing tables asked us if we have been taken care of. He went inside and got our waitress who came outside and was clearly inconvenienced by our presence. The empty chair next to me had more personality than she did. Two elderly couples who were hard of hearing were seated next to us, and she was also very rude to them for no reason. Luckily, the food was outstanding. I don't know how the service is inside of the restaurant, but if I do go back, I will not sit outside. Sitting outside is normally my preference, but I don't think this is the spot for it. read more

WOW!!!! We discovered a NEW place!!!! We went passed Marian's many times, believing it was just "a bagel store!" Oh, were we wrong. It has a full-service breakfast menu, and many yummy looking sandwiches and burgers for lunch. And YES, they have a wide assortment of bagels and toppings. The service was top-notch and with seating options outside and inside, the vibe is fun and easy! read more

I've been coming to Marian's forever! it's my go-to spot for breakfast. The food is always on point, whether I'm in the mood for a bagel, eggs, or even a great salad. Staff is super friendly and the service is quick, even when it's busy. It's very clean with that diner feel and they have both indoor and outdoor seating, which is nice depending on the weather. Overall, great food, great service and a fun vibe. read more

In the mood for a fresh bagel and heard that this place served good food. First impression was no frills just simple bagel type joint which was busy. They had shelving underneath the pay counter with quick grab items that included brownies, peanut butter cookies, double chocolate chunk cookies and blondies with a few bags of thin bagels nearby. Well stocked display of every type of bagel behind the counter with large printed names. The scent of fresh bagels is unique and overwhelming. Ordered the everything bagel and waited only a few minutes. Took my bagel and sat in the outside patio which was very relaxing although close to the parking lot. The bagel was warm and moist with a good amount of the Everything seasoning. The bathroom was very clean with beige tiled walls and brown wood panel flooring. read more

Dirty. There was a crumpled napkin and bits of egg on the floor across from us and during the hour we were there no one cleaned it up. While attempting to pay the cashier (who was assembling a take out order along with another person) ignored me while I stood waiting for her. When paying (using their payment ipad) she applied lipstick and didn't even look at me. When I was done paying she walked away without a word. Overpriced for the quality of food. This place used to be a good neighborhood restaurant but has gone so far downhill we won't be back read more

Do Not come here until they figure out the new system. Waited forever for food and then to pay the check. Came in twice this week and I figured maybe it would be better today. It will be a long time before I return here. Took forever to take order. Waited over an hour for the food after that. Then food came out wrong. Twice. Let's not mention the line to pay your bill! Start to finish over 2 hours! Marian's is a disaster right now! read more

I was out west doing a hot yoga class and Costco wasn't open yet so I searched for bagel shops and Marian's popped up. It was a 4 minute drive so I started to head over. I ordered an onion toasted bagel, scooped, with cream cheese - AND OMG! This bagel is SOOOO good! It was chewy with just enough crunch. toasted to perfection! I'd make the drive to just come out here for more ! I would recommend light cream cheese because I had way too much but was delicious!!! Couldn't even take a pic because I ate it already ! read more

This was once a good restaurant. The cleanliness varies. When tables are cleaned there is food particles etc on the chairs, granules under sugar containers & floors with trash/food on it. This is not when its busy either. They charge for flavored cream cheese even though it states on the menu that cream cheese comes with the bagel and does not specify "plain". It is not about the add'l $ its that the waitstaff doesn't say that there os an add'l charge nor try to make amends when it is not listed on the menu. They demonstrate preference for regulars and will ignore or make others wait to place orders. Food is good. Note that there is now a 3% charge added for credit cards which is more the norm and many restaurants are doing the same. read more

Ok. I drove by and saw the sign. I'm originally a New Yorker so I know what a bagel is supposed to be- folks we have a winner here! These will satisfy my bagel fix! I told the waitress and she said the owner just started making the bagels homemade and that he was from Manhassett, NY- let me tell you, I would expect these from Great Neck NY- if you know what I mean, you know I'm complimenting them! Their other foods looked really good and they say they have "Carnegie deli" pastrami - now don't do this to me.... Carnegie deli... ok, I'm in.... Please Katz or Russ and Daughters- if this guy is importing any of these I will live at this place!!!! Hell, I am available for ny suggestions of imports - bravo! I'll be back! Ps hit me up for import suggestions... read more

Marian's Bagels is a traditional, no-frills bagel shop and kosher-style deli located in a strip mall located near the busy intersection of Broward Boulevard and University Drive. It is typically open for breakfast and lunch, and offers both dine-in and takeout. There is ample free parking available. Prices seem average for bagel cafes in the area. They do have a 3% surcharge for using a credit card. The interior is bright, with the bagel options visible behind the takeout counter. The restaurant is fairly clean, with table turnover typically very quick. The noise level is typically moderate. Wait times for dine in indoors can get long on the weekends, but impatient diners can often find an open table outside more quickly. The menu is extensive and filled with classic favorite deli sandwiches, as well as less common typically seasonal dishes such as a latke appetizer and matzo brie platter. They also have babka, black and white cookies, and rugelach for sale at the counter. I've had mixed experiences with the size and flavor of the bagels. I typically prefer pumpernickel bagels, but find that they tend to run a little smaller in size here. In contrast, the asiago bagels and the bialys look pretty big, though I've never tried them. They are generous with the lox spread. I have had mixed experience with the service. For dine in, the cafe has a couple of waitresses who have been in the service industry for a very long time and have established rapport with longtime regular customers. The hosts at the counter seem to change more regularly. While they seem well intentioned, they are busy and often overwhelmed, which can lead to longer takeout wait times than expected, and sometimes to-go orders getting messed up. Overall, I will likely continue going to this bagel shop due to its location. It has charm and my family likes the menu and the servers. However, I do think there is some room for improvement, particularly for pickup. read more

My wife and I have been here twice before, no issues other than an incorrect side of cream cheese. Not sure what happened this morning. Ordered take out at the counter. While the employee was placing the order, I told her, "not toasted," "cream cheese on the side," "I will do everything at home." I waited over 15 mins for my order. Figured it's a busy Saturday morning. Receive my order, go home, open the bag, unwrap the bagels and both of them are toasted and have cream cheese smothered all over them. I have Celiac Disease and cannot eat gluten or I will be extremely ill. This is why I say we will do everything at home. I do not want to risk my gluten free bagel being sliced with the same knife or toasted in the same space as my wife's gluten filled bagel. So I get back in the car, drive back, explain my order is incorrect, and how it should be. All she says is, "oh, my mistake" and brought my bagels back to the kitchen. No apology. Did absolutely nothing for me except give my order as requested, with the exception of still slicing the bagels. Why is it so difficult to give customers what they ask for? All I wanted was for them to throw two bagels in a bag and scoop two sides of cream cheese. That's it. The prices at this place are not worth the headache I dealt with this morning. For what I paid, everything should have been perfect, making me look forward to my next bagel from Marian's Bagels. read more

Marian's Bagels is a cozy yet bustling spot that gives you all the breakfast classics. True to its name, their bagels are what they are known for. Traditionally, my cousins and their work friends come here after pickleball on Saturdays and it never fails to be busy. Even with the breakfast rush, getting seated doesn't take too long with tables both inside & outside. The service is pretty speedy and the food good. I usually get the lox spread on a toasted asiago bagel, which is a great go-to and fan fav. You have the option to get the lox spread as regular or low-fat. We tried out both so see if it would be less salty but it seemed about the same. This past visit, we also got to try the french toast which you can get either grilled or deep-fried. The deep-fried tasted like a carnival funnel cake. This is a pretty heavy dish so I would recommend sharing! A great lil spot to grab some breakfast with friends in Plantation. read more

Honestly I would go maybe 3.5 stars. A friend and I were headed out to lunch and the place we wanted to go was packed, so we opted to head over for a little deli. Like the few delis that are left in south Florida, this one is fairly typical in the style, ambiance, and food. But their food is actually a notch above most other delis. Service was pleasant. Food came out quickly. The only negative thing I can say is that this is one of the places that "passes along credit card fees to the consumer" They note it on the door, but I didn't see it until we were leaving. They may say it on the menu, but I didn't notice it. I had planned on paying in cash, regardless ... but it turned out I was a couple of bucks short and had to charge it. When the total came out 3% higher, I was annoyed. Look, it's not a big deal in the scheme of things. It's just that all these additional fees seemingly everywhere are just annoying. And because I didn't catch that they have the fee (it was not on the POS terminal), I was surprised. read more

Never visited the actual location yet but tried their food through UberEats during my work hours. They had a bunch of options on their menu so it was a little hard to decide! I got a tuna melt on multigrain bread with mozzarella cheese and a side of potato salad. The sandwich was delicious and comforting. The potato salad was also excellent and I wished I had more after. No photos because I forgot. I would visit the establishment next time in person for my next meal with them. read more

I had a medical procedure in the morning & couldn't eat or drink anything after midnight had only had clear liquids. This wasn't fun. Anyway when I was waiting I was searching for a breakfast place. I found Marian's liked the menu & reviews. After we went there all the employees where working together, the waitresses where hustling place was filled. This is always a good sign. Bagel's looked huge and fresh. Reminded my father & I of a NY Jewish deli restaurant. We where seated by one of the busser's and offered coffee & water, coffee was hot & delicious. Our server Linda greeted us with a big friendly smile. I ordered a nova lox & onion omelette, Home fries & an egg bagel. Sausege links on The Side. My dad ordered the white fish chunk platter. His white fish was huge!!!! Very impressed. My platter came took a few bite's and found the lox to be salty. Belly lox is salty not nova. Advised Linda about the issue, without missing a beat, I just asked for an order of scrabbled eggs as a substitute. Fished my breakfast. Both Bussers where cleaning tables and refilling coffee mugs constantly. At the end I ordered another egg bagel to take home, Linda did not charge me for the bagel took the omelette off the bill. Gave her a nice tip & definitely would come back. read more

I stopped by here around 11:00 am on a Sunday and it was packed! I immediately knew that I was in store for a good breakfast. I was in a rush so I decided to order something quick to go, instead of eating in. I did ask the host the wait time for a table and it was around 20 min- so this is a good thing to keep in mind if you plan to arrive at around 11 am. I ordered a simple asiago cheese bagel toasted with garlic green onion spread and it was really good! I think the spread to bagel ratio was perfect. They had an array of spreads and had some prepackaged that you could buy to go. They had so many different varieties but I decided to go home with the lox spread- which was filled with lox. I cannot complain. I will definitely be back. read more

Rude service. Waitress disappeared and only came back for the check. The breakfast is good, coffee not so much.

Very popular with locals always have a wait on weekends for fresh bagels and Good service!!!! A new spot opened directly next door and doesn't seem to affect this place at all !!!!! Our food came quickly as usual and everything was hot ,, usual diner vibe with tvs to give you a happy distraction. As soon as you sit someone not the waiter comes to get your beverages so you are not waiting and with this little step it's something more places should adopt, this gives the waiter more time to wrap up another table or just get themselves together,,, everyone is working as a team plus the bagels are awesome read more

Very disappointed with our meal @ lunch today. Our server, Linda, did her best. However overwhelming salt into chicken matzo ball soup had to be returned. The alternative soup was subpar. Then one sandwich being corned beef was filled with all fatty meat onto toasted stale bread. The next sandwich turkey was missing tomatoes & was so dry. Very old meat . The alternative sandwich ham with cheese was very unappetizing also. . Potato salad was not fresh either. We have been eating @ Marian's for many years. But not anymore.
