Ella Café has been one of my favorite coffee spots for a long time. The coffee is consistently great, the space is cozy, and it's usually a place I genuinely enjoy spending time at. Unfortunately, my most recent experience completely changed how I feel about coming back. I ordered a Caprese salad along with my coffee and had been sitting there for over 25 minutes without receiving it. I completely understand that food can take time to prepare, especially at a busy cafe; but the issue was that it never came out at all. I eventually went up to the counter to ask for a refund. The woman behind the register was kind and tried to help, but when she mentioned to the manager that I was requesting a refund, the manager began yelling across the café that it "had not been 25 minutes." This was said loudly, in front of me and other customers, which immediately created an uncomfortable situation. The employee at the register looked visibly uncomfortable and unsure how to respond. When the manager came over, she assumed my name was Nikki and insisted the Caprese had already come out and was "right there on the counter," which it absolutely was not. I've worked in the service industry myself, so I completely understand that managing a busy café can be stressful. But frustration does not justify speaking to staff or customers in that way, especially shouting across the shop or contradicting a customer without checking first. It was disappointing because this has always been a spot I enjoyed. But if the goal was to make a customer feel unwelcome enough to never return, unfortunately that message was received. I gave it 2 stars because I will not take away that my latte was amazing and the woman behind the register and serving our chocolate chip muffin to my kids were professional and sweet. read more

I haven't been here in a hot minute but used to come more frequently and used to have one right in my backyard. Staff were friendly and efficient. I ordered the banana bread latte with light syrup since they didn't have sugar free. It was still sweet and very light on the banana. I also got the blueberry zucchini muffin which was ok but not as moist or flavorful as I remember. My friend said her American sandwich and matcha were tasty. While it was an overall pleasant experience, I'm not sure if I'll rush back. For almost $15 for a latte and muffin (incl$1tip), there are many other tasty options. read more

Such a cute coffee shop with great customer service. Never been and everyone at the front was so welcoming and provided recommendations. Now while the coffee was tasty they didn't taste like what they promoted. For example my sister got the eggnog flavor and I think I got the French toast, both good but we didn't really taste the flavors. They do make their syrups in house and I believe we were told everything as well is made in house. One employee raved about the banana bread which wouldn't be on our radar but I'm glad we listened, it was so good! The chocolate twist was good as well. Definitely worth re visiting read more

I like this location much better than the one n Davie. They have much better coffee options, and food options. (See pictures below) Pricing is the same, and overall coffee taste is the same too. The issue I had with the other location in Davie was that they have a very loud speaker playing music, that when I came in to work, it wasnt do-able. I even had to ask them to lower the music, TWICE! I have been going to Ella for years and it used to be my favorite coffee spot for a treat. The last few times I have been in they are out of most milks and the coffee that I order hot comes out barely warm today from the moment I walked in till the moment I left took 40 minutes for a latte. It seems as though it is because they are accepting Uber eats orders and do not have the capacity to fulfill orders for those who come in. With so many coffee shops to choose from nowadays it's a shame that they aren't trying a bit harder for those customers who have been coming in for years. We went to Ella's Cafe for the first time after church to have lunch. My daughter had been there a few times and liked it. It's in a plaza with ample parking. But the sign outside simply says "COFFEE HOUSE." I only saw "Ella's" written on a cooler (see photo). The place is not large, seating about 24 or so inside and more outside, and it was crowded. We found a small table with room for three and had to grab two empty chairs. You order at the counter. Get a number. And your food and beverages are brought to your table. There is a small variety of sandwiches and pastries and an assortment of coffees available for purchase. Service was fine. We shared a blueberry zucchini muffin which was very tasty, moist, and chock full of blueberries. My husband and daughter both had a BLT and I had the French sandwich that came with raspberry jam, arugula, Brie, and pears on a toasted baguette. I substituted spinach for the arugula. I also had a white chocolate/raspberry iced coffee with coconut milk. My sandwich came with a small cup of nuts and fruit but it had some sort of creamy dressing on it that was definitely not needed. The iced coffee had a weird aftertaste. Not sure what it was. The ingredients in the sandwiches were very fresh. And they were both tasty, except that the toasted bread was so crusty that both my daughter and I irritated our gums. While I had a baguette, her sandwich was on bread (but both were well toasted). Ella's is pricey. My daughter's tab for a sandwich, muffin, and coffee was $28. Ours, for two sandwiches and two coffees was about $45. read more

Still my go to place! My favorite go to drink is the hazelnutella latte with oat milk. The coffee is always consistent and it never disappoints. I've tried other flavors but I feel that hazelnutella is the best one for me. It's around $7 for a cup. I also get a chocolate chip muffin extra warmed. Ella Cafe is such a vibe! It's the perfect spot to catch up with friends, lots of seating usually, though on my most recent visit I snagged the very last table (inside and out were packed!). They've got a cute little stage area too, which makes me think they host mic nights or live sets in the evenings. Drinks come out on little boards with the cutest mini cookie, which is such a nice touch. There weren't any dairy-free food options that day, but the staff was super kind and accommodating about my allergy for my drink. I went with an iced coffee (so did a friend), and another got a matcha, everyone was happy. It's not super close to me, but ill be back for sure. True traditional coffee house with a relaxed vibe. Several quaint tables line the covered front patio. Beautiful hand sized sandwiches on display along the counter bar in addition to big glass jars full of croissants, brownies and gourmet muffins. Huge chromed out Espresso machine against the wall near the coffee grinder machine. They also sell fresh coffee beans at $20.00 each. The ceiling is open to the roof with that hardcore industrial feeling which I love. A raised stage with a microphone positioned at the far back of the cafe which hosts live music on a schedule. Against the side wall was a large clear glass jar full of cold water, pieces of lemon and floating fresh mint - what a refreshing treat. This place was a gold mine super busy cafe. I ordered a Cortado with a 1/2 splash of cream for $5.00 which arrived to my small table in a few minutes. What a classy presentation, a Cortado with a cream tree design floating on top as it sits on top of a wooden board. The Cortado was priced at the high end but the atmosphere made it worth every penny. Love the chalk drawn wall menus with each unique to the next. Customers sitting on couches and at tables sipping their coffee and some diligently working on their lap tops. Ella Cafe has other locations in Davie and Coral Springs but this is the largest. Such a cute, high-quality coffee shop! I'm not a huge coffee person so I always get matcha at coffee shops. I got the iced matcha latte, and it was easily one of the best I've ever had! The presentation was next-level and cute, and it came with a little cookie! I also got a caprese sandwich, which was fresh and delicious. The ordering process was a little confusing. I asked for a menu and was told that they have a "visual menu," which meant that they had a bunch of sandwiches on the counter with no labels at all, making it impossible to know what's in them. When I asked, the employee didn't really seem like she wanted to answer the one question I had. This could also be a problem for allergies. The drink menu was on different boards all over the place behind the counter, which also made it hard to see what they have. I didn't even see matcha on the menu and was about to settle for something else, until my friend ordered hers and pointed out that it was on a completely separate chalkboard that was kind of hidden. I understand the desire to be creative, but not when it harms functioning. When our order came out, they didn't bring us napkins or a fork for my side salad, so I had to go back up to the counter. Maybe they were just having a bad day? It was also pretty expensive, at $25 for a latte and a sandwich. They did something that I've never seen at a restaurant before that I really appreciated. 10 minutes before closing, they came around to the tables and very nicely let us know that they were getting ready to close. As a former restaurant employee, I really appreciate them respecting their employees enough to not make them stay late because of inconsiderate late guests. I found my coffee to be sweet for my liking but I often expect that when I get coffees with syrups. I came there to study. It was pretty loud on the Friday afternoon that I came there. There were a lot of people and the music was pretty loud. At first it was difficult for me to find a table but once lunch time passed, there were plenty of tables. I also had a bit of difficulty with the wifi for the first 30 minutes but the staff was very helpful in getting me connected. Overall, a cute cafe. It took me about 15 minutes to make up my mind so I let others go ahead of me.
