The portions were generous and the five of us could've split 3 instead of 4 (BBQ for dinner was filling!). Wow. YUM! The Oreo and the Boston were the biggest hits, with the Farigliano not too far behind. The Toulouse was last, but the Kit Kat pieces all got eaten, ha ha. It was cool just to have a different dessert besides ice cream. With as good as they were, I bet the savory options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner would be delicious, too. The Saffrano eatery certainly was a unique and charming spot. Its blend of Colombian inspired flavors and subtle French ambiance created a warm and inviting space. The attention to detail, from the custom hard covered menus to the poetic signage on the walls added a touch of character. The barista, Elizabeth, provided superb hospitality and a personalized delicious espresso experience which seemed to reflect the overall thoughtful service of the cafe. The oversized cakes are available for customer's sweet tooth or parties, which definitely added a fun element, even if the crepes and waffles aren't available for catering. The outside covered seating was inviting on this cool day but chose to take a small inside table listening to soft music while relaxing with my espresso. The unisex bathroom with separate stalls for girls and guys certainly adds a quirky and modern twist to the cafe's atmosphere. It's alluring design choice that sparks curiosity and adds to the overall unique vibe of the space, blending practicality with a bit of mystique. It's not often you come across this kind of setup, so it would definitely be a conversation starter for those who notice - like me. This surely was a place that offered something a bit different. Saffrano is a vibe, and I'm here for it! I can't remember the last time I've been to a cafe/restaurant in the states that's given me that feeling of being ing transported to Europe. The decor, artistic touches, and especially the music are beautifully done. But of course the food is what matters most. This isn't your average crepe. Saffrano has taken a French classic and elevated it with their own creative spin. Each crepe is named after a city and features at least one ingredient they are known for locally. It's all well thought out! A crepe is normally a light meal, but these things are absolutely monstrous. Don't believe me? The Marsella easily comes with half a pound of chicken. I have never struggled to finish a crepe in my life. I can count on one hand the crepes restaurants I've had in my life that I consider memorable. That includes in Paris itself. The crepe oreo cake is interesting, but I still can't decide if I liked it or not... the flavor was very good, but it does feel a bit unusual... it's not bad at all, but I think I'd rather eat a few individual crepes than a "cake" made out of crepes (however, this is a really personal-taste issue that may be exclusively mine... in no way you should feel discouraged to try it, as I found it is better to try it and maybe be surprised than not try it and maybe never discover something you may love it with a passion. Do you like to travel? Do you like to eat? Than Saffrano crepes is the place for you. This is an Adorable cafe full of world travel pictures and decor. The first thing we ordered was a cappuccino with a cute little froth art. I highly recommend ordering one. The next was our crepes. The menu is so unique with a special crafted crepe for many different countries. We would have ordered the Caracas crepe/cachapa but since my husband is from Venezuela we eat those quite often. But we enjoyed the Cusco crepe. What made this crepe so delicious was the sauce and flavor of the steak. It was juicy and seasoned very well. For dessert we had to try the farigliano waffle. It had Nutella, bananas, strawberries, and ice cream. Also can't forget the crushed pistachios. This is deliciously addicting. I could eat this at any meal. The servers were so friendly and the food came out in a relatively timely manner. My only complaint is that the crepes were a different texture than I personally liked. I prefer a thinner drier crepe whereas these were a little moister. And I feel like with a thinner crepe, you get more filling in order to get you full. Four of us made reservations last night and had a lovely meal complete with wine and dessert. Everything is made to order so food arrival takes a little longer but it was sooo good! There is a nice balanced variety of crepe offerings, personally I love the Cusco which is a lomo saltado on a delicious crepe rather than fries or rice. My wife had the Osaka which is a sushi offering she loves. Our friends enjoyed the Mumbai and a meal that was essentially a taco on a crepe, tasty according to our friends. The ambiance is nice, especially for a small restaurant in a shopping plaza. Service was friendly and consistent. The cost was reasonable and we had a lovely time, right down to the cappuccino's that topped off the evening that were lovely little presentations in a generous cup. What an original concept. The dishes are all based off different parts of the world. I've come here a few times and have enjoyed myself. Here's what I've tried- MARRAKESH - Shrimp, curry sauce, couscous, mango chutney, avocado. I personally love this. It's a very creative dish with flavors that compliment each other in my opinion. I love that sweetness of the mango chutney. They're also generous with the amount of shrimp. 5/5 ($18.99) CUSCO -Lomo Saltado - sauteed sirloin, red onion, bell peppers, tomato, cilantro sauce. This has potential but the steak was a little dry and over cooked and lacked flavor. I would love if this were done a bit better. 2.5 ($17.99) I also tried one of their breakfast crepes, the rio, which was okay. I would like to explore more of their menu, the thing is seeing as one crepe was a complete hit and the other two were mediocre and taking into account the fact that their pricing is a bit steep I feel it would be unfortunate if i ended up trying another mediocre entree. Although the service is great, the environment is simple and the bathroom I don't recommend using, even because it was "out of use" for who knows what reason. The dishes ordered were: - "Bogotá" on the breakfast menu $12.36, I don't know if the crepe was supposed to be wet but in general it had no flavor, very poorly seasoned. - "Buenos Aires" crepe and waffle $9.99. I can't call it dulce de leche because it definitely doesn't taste like dulce de leche. - "Verona" soup $7.49, seriously, no flavor, I mean, just zucchini flavor, nothing else, very poorly seasoned and served with a slice of brioche bread grilled in a waffle-shaped machine, nothing special. I would never pay that amount for a flavorless soup, the price for this should be a maximum of $4. - "Red Velvet crepe cake" $9.49, finally something worth the price, despite being super sweet and impossible to eat whole it was very tasty. read more

Saffrano I like to be consider a hidden gem as it's never usually busy when I'm there. This time we went in the afternoon to satisfy a sweet tooth. The variety of crepes and waffles here astounding. The pictures alone are delectable on the menu as the boast menus inspired by 30 different countries. It's hard to find one thing and decide to go with it as we had so many options that we wanted. I had the Rio and it's the perfect balance between sweet, salty and so savory. Highly recommended and yes that is sweet corn on the top of it. The French toast waffle has a unique texture as it was an in between balance of a waffle and bread. It actually was cake like in consistency and was a sure win! Not to mention the cold brew, I would say it is one of the best in the area, I even added a shot of hazelnut which was phenomenal. My husband has been looking for new places for lunch and sent me this one to try. I will admit, I wasn't sure - but I will say YUM! I don't eat meat, but my husband's crepe, the Cusco, looked amazing and he loved it. He said the steak was perfectly cooked and he enjoyed the flavor. I had Rio. I absolutely enjoyed mine too. After hearing glowing reviews from friends and family alike, I knew I had to try Saffrano Crepes. I'm not usually one to seek out crepes so I wasn't sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised by how good this place was! To start, my table decided to try two of their holiday drinks, the peppermint hot chocolate and the cranberry punch. I love that the hot chocolate was topped with peppermint chocolate candies instead of crushed candy cane, and was really happy that they were able to make it with oat milk. The cranberry punch was also delicious, really refreshing without being too sweet. Both drinks were beautifully presented and very good. For our meal, we tried the Cusco with shrimp, and the Marrakesh. There was so much shrimp in each dish, and I was really impressed by the texture of the crepes, which were neither tough nor soggy. I wish they sold the cilantro sauce that came on the Cusco by the bottle - I would absolutely use that at home! The Marrakesh was super hearty be the curry sauce and couscous. I think my one critique of the entrees would be that the Marrakesh could do with some spice. The mango in the couscous, while good, made the dish quite sweet. I think there needs to be another flavor here to balance it out - when I added some kashmiri chili hot sauce to my leftovers at home, it was perfect. Though we were feeling pretty full, we couldn't leave without trying a dessert crepe too. We chose the Boston, and WOW. That's all I can say. Between the delicious chocolate crepe, rich vanilla ice cream, and crumbles of fudgy brownie, it was definitely my favorite part of the visit. Service here can be a bit slow, but I think that was just a result of how busy it was. Our waitress Clariza was super friendly and did a great job. I have never eaten crepes before today, and I'm not sure why. First things first, almost everything on the menu was right up my alley. Personally I think the toughest part of eating here was trying to decide what to have. So I asked our server. Saffrano Crepes is in a strip mall--at the northwest corner of Sunrise Boulevard and Pine Island Road--with lots of parking. But be prepared for a wait for your table, the place is really popular. On a Saturday, it only took about 10 minutes for an inside table for two (there are a couple outside) to become available at lunchtime. This was my second time eating their food. My family and I ordered takeout during the heart of the pandemic and really liked the three crepes we had (the Marsella, Marrakesh, and a third one that slips my mind). I am really glad they survived and are still around. One of my best friend's and I decided to share a savory crepe and a sweet crepe. We started with the Mumbai--chicken with curry, sesame seeds, tomatoes, and mint. I had them put the sesame seeds on the side because I don't like them. The chicken was definitely white meat because it was a tad dry from being overcooked a bit. I definitely would have preferred the chicken seasoned. It was bland. The curry sauce was nice and mild. Though I could see the mint, I could not taste it on my portion of the crepe. My friend said that she could. Then, we had the Veneto (tiramisu) dessert crepe. It was layers of thin crepe with chocolate ganache in between. It was divine! Service between each course (there were only two) was very slow. The place was packed with a long line forming outside. Though she had a full plate (pun intended), the waitress was very pleasant and always sported a very big and bright smile. Lunch for two with two crepes, tax, and tip, was about $32. (I didn't pay; it was a birthday treat from my gal pal.) I plan to go back and bring the family and try another savory crepe or two.
