We love breakfast places with my husband. This one wasn't our favorite. Service was hectic, they kept forgetting my husband's coffee. Omelette didn't have any salt in it and did lack a flavor. Pancakes were good and bagels were good. Beautifully designed inside, but not a place to come back to because of the service.

A classic style cafe spot. Comforting, simple, and delicious. If you're tired of the overpriced modern cafes that have taken over and you just want a cozy spot with comfort food, this is it. The service and food were good but let me just say... as someone who's not a big pancake person, I'm going back just for those pancakes. They are fluffy and moist and I don't know how they're made but they just taste so good. Mind you, the size.... I could barely get past one of them which means I get to take some home too. And all for such a great price.

We have been wanting to try out Ally's the last few weeks and finally got the chance today. The diner was warm and staff was inviting with excellent food and prices. Our favorite was the French toast and the omelette. We will be back and add this one to our regular list of brunch spots.

Great little hole in the wall. The food is homemade and the portions are large. The wait staff was friendly and super efficient. My waitress kept checking on me to see if everything was as ok or if I wanted more coffee. Thought the pricing was very reasonable. They have a $.50 up charge per egg during the bird flu shortage. There is also a 3% svc charge for credit card payments. Overall, the place is cute with a super large menu. They even have early bird breakfast specials before 10:00am as well as daily specials. Lots of homemade choices. 2 thumbs up!

I was in the area and decided to stop in here. It's a small place but plenty of seating and everyone I came in contact with was really nice. I decided to get takeout which I had ordered over the phone. I got the homemade corn beef hash, and eggs that came with grits and I opted for English muffin. When I tell you that homemade corn beef hash was amazing, I came back the next day for some more. I love the fact that I can tell that they seem to use cracked eggs and not anything from a box. I definitely see myself coming back here.

The best comfort food that I've ever tasted! My dear friend put me on to this gem. Food and service were top tier. I can't wait until the weekend to visit again. Inside was very homey with a dated feel. I felt like I was in my grandmothers dining room. We were seated within a minute even though inside was packed. Our waitress came over to take over drink orders and have us a few minutes to go over the menu. I knew exactly what I wanted- that fried steak was calling my name. You have the options of choosing one of 3 sides and how you'd like your eggs cooked . I chose the potatoes. The corned beef hash was so delicious. The staff was in sync as all our dishes came out really fast.

    CHOCOLATE CHIP PANCAKE

MONSTER PANCAKES... For years people kept telling me to check out this old southern charm breakfast and lunch restaurant to eat the giant pancakes located in Davie, FL. Today, I finally got the urge to take a peek at this legendary pancake. As soon as I stepped inside, a calm aura surrounded my body. This pleasant soft spoken woman named Cindy approached and told me to sit anywhere. I took temporary refuge in a relaxing booth and excitedly pondered through the simple two page menu searching for today's highly anticipated blissful offering. I inquired to Cindy about the "Anna's Choice" single giant pancake $4.25. She explained the several mouth watering topping options and decided on chocolate chip at an additional $1.75. I thought, how was this deal even possible? Within ten minutes, a massive ultra fluffy chocolate infused pancake was on my table begging for immediate consumption. I heavily poured maple syrup onto the center and watched as it slowly dripped over the edge. Without further adieu, I took a generous bite, very impressed by the hidden chocolate chips buried inside instead of the all too common weak top sprinkle. I took a second bite, then another, again and again until this mammoth pancake disappeared into the depths of my now happy belly - gym today for sure. They do offer daily specials from 7am - 2pm like Red Velvet French Toast and Biscuits & Gravy. They are weirdly closed on Wednesdays. The bathroom was very clean.

Suck it up! Salsa. It has good taste and a nice amount of heat.

As many times as I have been here in the past years, I was surprised to see that I had not written a review. As far as my previous experiences, they have always been good. Today was no exception. Good food and good service. There's not much to talk about today. My wife had Leo. She said it was a little heavy on the onions, but otherwise, it was very good. I had something easy. A grilled cheese with ham on wheat bread, with a side of onion rings. It was good. I also got some of their "suck it up salsa." It was great. It was really hot, but it still tasted really good. It went well with the onion rings. I really loved their salsa. I really need to eat here more often.

I had the BEST breakfast today (9/23)! I was trying to find someplace different than where we normally go and as I was looking at their website, saw that they had Sticky Toffee Pudding Pancakes! Guess where we were going, lol. There were 3 parties ahead of us when we arrived but the wait wasn't bad. They won't seat you if your party is not complete. Our waitress was very nice. Food came out pretty quick and was steaming HOT and fresh! You can see the steam coming out of the coffee cup even after I added some creamer to it. The Sticky Toffee Pudding Pancakes were DELICIOUS ! I'm so bummed because I found out that they only have them about every 6 months. My husband's Caprese Benedict was cooked perfectly as per his request. The only thing he thought was odd was that you had hot eggs but cold cheese. It obviously didn't bother him that much because he cleared his plate. Parking isn't a problem as it's in the Shenandoah Plaza off of SR84, just west of Flamingo. We'll have to keep this place in our breakfast rotation.

We've been coming here for many years because every thing we've ever ordered has been great. Their matzo ball soup is fantastic and we've brought it home countless times when someone was under the weather. Today was breakfast. They make their own corned beef hash and it's fantastic. Over medium eggs are always perfect. Grits are always identically perfect and the staff is just lovely and efficient.

Nice, classic look, clean, tables and chairs in good condition, and tastefully decorated. I had the Ribeye and Eggs and the quality of the meat rivaled a good steakhouse (pretty unusual for breakfast) and was grilled exactly right. Hashbrowns, toast, coffee, etc. - everything was perfect. My friends had waffles, omlettes, pancakes, et al and were equally impressed with the quality and flavor of the food. What really made our meal the most perfect breakfast ever was our server, the charming Charlotte. Warm, helpful, and with just enough spunk to make the visit a lot of fun. She seemed like she was always there when we needed something but never interrupted or bothered us for no reason. This true GEM has mastered the craft of "Server" and if I owned this restaurant, all new servers (regardless of experience level) would shadow this expert for a couple days in a block of instruction entitled, "This is how we want you to do it." What an awesome restaurant! Food, drinks and customer experience all in the top 1% of all restaurants ever (and I spend about 220 nights away from home every so this is saying something). This is lengthy, apologies. My experience with Lakeview…read moregoes back 35 yrs, going there with folks and now as an owner myself. It's always been a great value and good food. We as owners "own" it, it's not open to public and of course the prices are reasonable given the give and take of Board...bless their hearts... and residents, and the weird dynamic that it can stay in business while losing money. Yet with Lakeview's value, I don't go there often enough, and most owners don't go at all...some sell their food cards at a loss. Last night I had salmon, she had soul picatta. It was very good! Chicken noodle soup a minor misstep and not the end of the world. Buy top shelf soup from a purveyor and be done with it. Continuing... "Flaming Desert Station" nice but waste of time and manpower, a gimmick that has to go. Include a dessert served from kitchen. Don't charge $2.25 for coffee. The restaurant is not open to public so I'm not giving away anything and the residents of P.I. already know, but, we're only open 2 nights a week and there is no chef! Kudos to Alan for more than holding up his end upstairs and downstairs in Chippers!!! Alan is a valuable asset. The hoity-toity menu has to be phased out, i.e., Baby Lamb Chops etc. The Board might have found some solution of sorts for breaking even by being open only two nights plus Sunday buffet, but seriously, there's no rent or owner needing to make a profit, there's no extravagant Chef salary...it's an imperfect solution. Lakeview should be a crown jewel of P.I., adding value to P.I. The fancy menu made sense back in day. Alan has figured out how to do that menu with no spoilage, only open two days, that's incredible! The food was good last night! Don't take away the Sat night menu from the loyal folks that do go there for fine dining at very reasonable price. I humbly propose this first step in making Lakeview an asset instead of liability. "All You Can Eat Ribs/Shrimp" on a Friday night. Admit Friday is a work in progress and start on high side of price always explaining to resident's that the Friday idea is to fill the place but not have it overrun on day 1 by giving away the meal, and price will be adjusted accordingly. And maybe some sort of "mission statement" posted outside saying that demographics always change and Lakeview is a work in progress, but we all fail if we don't support our own restaurant. Ask for support from residents if we are ok losing a bit of money temporarily, but on high volume, not low volume like we have now. To the Board...and some of us have said as much at meetings...give us comfort food and great value on Tues, Wed (already in place) Thurs and Friday. Frequent reminders that it's our restaurant. Double the price of the food card if these changes work. It could be a virtuous circle. What restaurant wouldn't die to have 3000 units worth of $175 ($350) food cards as guaranteed revenue. Everybody mumbles as much under their breath. Open the ballroom doors even if it's not used. Would give a feeling of spaciousness to go along with fabulous view of lake. p.s. the staff upstairs and downstairs is fabulous. Shout out to our CBS's John Dickerson lookalike. I showed him a pic of the CBS news anchor last night. He, Alan and the rest are really good people. Last question is to me. This is a weird place to post, will anyone ever see? Might be a good thing. This kind of short story critique doesn't usually go over well.
