The food here is sooo good and well seasoned. The server was super nice and welcoming! They have a DJ spinning jams on the weekend. They also have an all you can eat brunch for $34 and it's the entire menu. Come hungry!! read more

Extremely disappointing experience. I made a reservation through OpenTable, arrived on time, and was then told by the hostess that my reservation had been canceled because they no longer had seating available. How does that make any sense? If there was no availability, why was I able to book a reservation in the first place? What made the situation even worse was how it was handled. The staff was rude, dismissive, and offered no meaningful explanation or attempt to make things right. It came across as completely disorganized and unprofessional. I was actually looking forward to eating here because I had a good experience at Matchbox in Washington, DC. Unfortunately, this visit completely changed my impression of the brand. After the way we were treated, I probably won't be back. read more

While shopping at Sawgrass Mills, I always stop by Matchbox for a much-needed break, hydration, and energy reset. The food is consistently good, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. My go-tos are the crab soup, Old Bay chicken wings, pepperoni, pizza, and chicken fettuccine Alfredo--and they also have a nice weekend brunch, which is worth checking out. A reliable spot to relax and refuel during a long shopping day. read more

The biggest problem with this place is the reception; there's never anyone at the front desk to show you to your seat, and it takes a long time for someone to appear and do it. After someone finally appeared and I sat down, my daughter and I opted for: - Fig and prosciutto pizza $19.00, which was very tasty despite having almost no prosciutto in it. - Bistro burger $19.00, I don't know where that's a bistro because there's nothing special about that burger. Overall, very expensive for ordinary food. Our waitress was super nice and helpful. The atmosphere was pleasant but quite normal. read more

Matchbox at Sawgrass is a must visit! We did the unlimited brunch with unlimited drinks, and it was truly worth every dollar. The food was incredible, the steak and eggs were cooked to perfection, and the chicken and waffles were a standout. We started with the spinach dip, and the portions were seriously generous! The drinks were just as impressive..unlimited old fashioneds and strawberry lemon drops? Yes, please! The ambiance was very chill with great music! A special shoutout to our server, Jadee, who was absolutely amazing and had spot-on recommendations. We can't wait to come back for another unforgettable brunch! read more

The Food We didn't hold back on the menu, and honestly, everything hit the mark: * Breakfast Pizza: This was a standout. Perfectly thin, crispy crust topped with fluffy scrambled eggs, sausage, and fresh veggies. It's a great twist on a classic and very shareable. * Chicken and Waffles: The waffles were thick and airy with just the right amount of powdered sugar and butter. The chicken was crispy and seasoned well--definitely a soul-food win. * French Toast: If you have a sweet tooth, get this. It came topped with fresh berries and paired perfectly with their syrup. * Sides & Sips: The grits were creamy, and the cocktails I knocked about 6 old fashioned and the lemon drops were refreshing and well-made. The Vibe The outdoor seating area has a great atmosphere--lively but relaxed. It's an ideal spot for a "Sunday Funday" or a break from shopping. The service was attentive, and the food came out hot and fresh read more

The service was not good. We came in for lunch on a normal Tuesday, and there was no one at the front to seat us. There ended up being a line to be seated because no one was coming for at least 7 minutes. Finally, when we were seated, the girl had to rush to clean our table, and we didn't have cutlery for 30 minutes. Someone came to take our order quickly, but when we asked for lemon and ice with our waters, nothing. Had to wait for the other waitress to bring it again. Our main waitress was very nice and quick. I feel bad, it seems like they're understaffed or something. We ordered the lunch special, where it's a salad and sandwich or a salad and pasta. I ordered the apple and pear salad with the chicken sandwich (see pictures) everything was really good! The value was really good. The portion size was really good too! Left full, and my friend even had to take some home with her cause of how full she got. Overall, it was a good experience. The environment was cute, clean, very big, and red, but it was totally empty when we arrived. I would come back to try again; maybe it was just an off day. read more

First i want to say the manager and our server was amazing. Eddie the manager and Julio our sever was nice listened and responded to critism. We started with cheese bread and it was ok. Then my drink was a cranberry sangría non alcoholic tasted like cranberry juice with a leaf it was supposed to have apple slices but that was missing. Then my fish and chips looked amazing but lakes flavor. I added salt and pepper to make it more flavorful. Despite that i live sitting outside and people watching and i will always come back to try more food on the menu read more

TLDR; don't eat here. Today I went with my coworkers to brunch to celebrate one of our coworkers' new baby. We were in great spirits and the energy was good while the dj was playing good music. We were catching up and vibing. I will start by saying while I loved being with my coworkers I would not return again. The server was new and nice. We all ordered drinks - espresso martinis, fire and ice mojito, aperol spritz, lemonade, cappuccino etc. The espresso martinis were watery coffee drinks missing baileys. The fire and ice mojito was so sweet and had no taste of rum. I asked for a regular mojito instead and still sweet but better. And the lemonade was forgotten until we reminded the server while we already had our food. We all ordered after drinks - salads, shrimp and grits, breakfast plate, and chicken and waffles. My chicken and waffles were okay the syrup came out cold and the butter was an interesting consistency... They messed up the salad orders. The shrimp and grits my friend got tasted like they forgot to put oil until the end. And my one coworker asked for no meat and they brought it out for her on the side. Overall, I was disappointed with the food and drinks. Based on this experience I would not recommend. And to Matchbox, please do better. read more

Sunday Brunch: We were disappointed. We got seated about 12:40. After our first drinks came at about 1, we waited for our server and didn't order a second drink or food until 1:40. The drinks came out wrong. Each time we ordered drinks they were different! I don't know if I was drinking a mimosa or a martini. Most of the time, it tasted like a mimosa yet advertised as a lemon drop martini. We got 1 drink every hour with bottomless being $25 that's ridiculous and a waste especially if they actually enforced the 2 hour table limit. After being there over 3 hours we each only tried 2 things on the $49 "unlimited" menu. Moreover I am dissatisfied with how long everything took! We could not enjoy the menu, atmosphere, music nor drinks because we were hAngry. Everything you order (drinks and food) takes 1 hour to come out. The drinks were room temperature. The food was barely warm. The food did taste well. I just wish it was actually warm. The Buffalo wings were my favorite. We enjoyed catfish & grits, steak & eggs were good. The French toast toppings made it to tart. They have a great concept, but it doesn't seem thought through for the crowd. Not some place I'd like to recommend positively to others, hoping it improves over time. read more

This is a great venue for good brunch vibes. The menu is simple so there's no overstimulation or room to cause indecision. The brunch AYCE is fairly priced for the food options. The brunch all you can drink is slightly misleading. $25 but $1 for every refill. Service is quick. MAYBE too quick. We ordered appetizers and our main courses and they all came out within minutes. The star of the show was the 3-6-9 mini burgers though. Highly recommend. The Bloody Mary was good but it did not come as advertised and that's one reason I scored it the way I did. Parking is close but expect to be delayed as you're entering the parking lot due to people trying to valet and foot traffic. read more

Stopped in last min Sunday midday to grab something quick after running errands all morning, and we had a great time! The music was amazing, the crowd was great and eveyone genuinely seemed to have been enjoying their brunch! We were seated right away, and we placed our orders for a few Bloody Mary's, and 2 meals. I opted for the shrimp and grits, which was delicious! Well cooked shrimp, not overdone or tough, and the grits were seasoned well with Cajun spices. We also ordered the beef sliders, with a side of biscuits. The 2 meals came out, and the biscuits arrived about 20 minutes after we placed our orders. Seemed so odd for a very simple menu item. By the time they came out, we were done with our meals and asked for a box to take them with us. The Bloody Beer was delicious (a version of their Bloody Mary), it was refreshing, and had a good tomato to beer ratio. I never knew that Matchbox offered a bunch option, but is wonder if you're visiting with some friends. For about $35 you get unlimited food for 2 hours, not including drinks (drinks have a different set pricing). I'll definitely be returning, mainly for the grits and some bloody Mary's! read more

This place is very nicely decorated, very convenient and located in the mall property. They have a room for events that is separate from the dining room and is really a very fancy and elegant spot to throw a gathering of 20-30 ppl. I recently attended a work event here and the food was top-notch. Service and ambience the same. Very well done. I had the ribeye which was extremely flavorful, and cooked perfectly, especially considering around 15 others ordered it in my group (of about 25). The mashed potatoes and asparagus were also 5/5! But the star of the show was very surprising. It was the pear and walnut salad! With blue cheese which I usually hate! WTH do they put in that dressing!? Either way it is paired so well and excellently balanced. This was a triangulation of everything hitting the spot and the night being memorable because of the place we chose to do the dinner event. And that deserves a 5/5 in my book. I'd def go back and get that same meal. Oh almost forgot! The cheesecake was also very tasty. read more

Visited this restaurant for their happy hour specials at Sawgrass Mall. The food and drink options for happy hour were very affordable and tasty based on what we tried. The CREAM OF CRAB SOUP is deliciousssssss!!! I'm a soup girly and I loved this. I didn't love the herb crusted salmon salad, I think that was probably a mistake on our part, but the other salads sound so much better. Side of fries helped wash down the mistake salad. First time here for endless brunch. The DJ had the vibes going. Service was slow. I do understand it was Easter sunday but even the server was surprised that my drink would never come despite her requesting it several times. It was a large group of us and their menu offers group menu options so we chose several different dishes and ended up with a table full of food. First time visit. Party of 10 for Saturday morning. We did not have to wait long. Our table was ready when we arrived. It's was raining, I called to give them a heads up that we were in the parking lot waiting for the rain to subside. We decided to order the dishes on the menu instead if the buffet. The blueberry and lemon pancakes were delicious. Others order the seafood scramble, shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, and other delectable delights. The music started around 11:30am. WARNING: Bad health score. Don't eat here. I came here after a rich man who sat next to me on a place said this was one of his favorite restaurants. I came and ate and surprised that the food was just alright. Unfortunately, I have found out this restaurant has had multiple emergency orders // getting shut down because of terrible health score conditions. Mostly from dozens of flies. It's a repeat problem. Now I know I will definitely not eat here again. Sad. You can search the health score reports on the Tallahassee Democrat food inspection database. read more

So we decided to go to this place for their Sunday brunch and we will definitely be back. For $49 you can order everything on the menu as many times as you want during your 2 hour time limit. We ordered almost everything and the only thing I wasn't a fan of was the sliders(not seasoned and a little dry) and the shrimp and grits (had too much liquid) for my liking. Also added the unlimited drinks which you can skip because they take a long time to come and they aren't very strong. Overall, the $49 price tag for the food was great. Extremely disappointed with Matchbox at Sawgrass Mall - twice in a row. We've dined here two days back-to-back, and both visits were a complete letdown. We ordered the sliders exactly as they appear on the menu--just with cheese added. What we got instead looked nothing like the presentation they advertise. No crispy onion straws, no seasoning, and absolutely no care in how it was put together. Just dry sliders buried in a pile of pickles with zero effort. We also ordered the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, which again looked NOTHING like the rich, creamy pasta they show or serve in-house. What we received was a watery, bland mess in a plastic container with barely any sauce & no bread. It looked and tasted like it came from a cafeteria tray, not a restaurant we've dined at and enjoyed in the past. The fact that this happened two days in a row is unacceptable. We were trying to give the benefit of the doubt after the first mess-up, but it's clear that consistency and quality control are lacking. We didn't just come to eat, we came back expecting good service and good food based on reputation. Do better, Matchbox. Because this ain't it. read more

Overall a pretty average restaurant. We came around 7pm on a Friday night and were seated immediately. There were plenty of open seats inside, and just a few open on their outdoor patio. They had live music which was fun for a spring evening. For the food, the pizza was good and the Caesar salad was just meh. We ordered half a fire + smoke and half chicken pesto pizza. The fire + smoke I wish was a little spicier. The chicken pesto was good! The salad I would not order again. The lettuce was limp, there were barely any croutons, and the dressing was extremely average. The manager was friendly. He was visiting all the tables. Our server was nice but was very rushed. When he came to "check" on us, it was more of him rushing past us while yelling "you guys good?" He didn't refill our drinks. We were actually interested in their desserts, but our server didn't even give us the chance. As soon as we took our last bites, he cleared our plates, and brought us the check asking how we wanted to pay. He just seemed very rushed overall. Probably wouldn't return unless I was already at the mall and needed a quick bite. read more

Another "black owned" scam restaurant. Glad they closed down. Do not dine at any "Thompson restaurant" clown shows

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner Wednesday night. We found this restaurant as we were killing time before a night gator tour at the sawgrass recreation park. I called ahead to confirm that they could accommodate 6 of us and Lydia on the phone assured me that they could. When we entered we were greeted by Lydia with a big smile. She seated us and we got busy taking the wonderful menu and sights in. After a few minutes Casey approached our table and took our order. She was knowledgeable about the menu, incredibly friendly, and an excellent addition to our evening. We loved everything we ordered. We did family style and everything was rated 9/10 and 10/10 which is pretty darn good! We enjoyed: The gigantic meatball- the size of a softball- moist, flavorful, and served with garlic bread. Caesar salad fresh greens with tasty croutons and cheese. Everyone enjoyed it. Chimichurri steak and frites cooked to perfection. Delicious! Pepperoni pizza- rated 10/10 cooked in their pizza ovens! Three sliders- also a 10/10 perfectly cooked with tasty onion strings Beignets- five plump pillows dusted in powdered sugar served alongside chocolate and raspberry sauce- they vanished as soon as they were delivered. Drinks were enjoyed the patio pounder lemonade which was lite and refreshing, and the fire and ice dragon fruit mojito which was super yummy- a smidge on the sweet side but good. We loved our experience and highly recommend stopping in if you are local! Ask for Casey! read more

This was actually the second time I've eaten here, but I see no previous review of mine, so ... Unlike last time, I was here for breakfast. While tempted by the unlimited buffet, my waistline demanded restraint. I got the stuffed French toast. I couldn't detect anything 'stuffing' the French toast. What I got was three big Texas toast-sized pieces of French toast, crispy like churros on the outside and fluffy inside, with strawberries and blueberries in sauce on top, a dollop of ?frosting?, and a sweet and flavorful sauce I used for dipping. Very filling. Near the end of my meal, I went to use the facilities. By the time I returned, my table had been given to another party. My waiter didn't know how that had happened, but the little orange juice I hadn't finished had been set aside for me. Excellent service except for that one snafu. read more

Me and cousin went to Matchbox for brunch on Sunday at Sawgrass Mills. We was ready for brunch and the cost at this location was $49 Unlimited and two mimosas for $12 bucks. So the food came but, it look nothing like the pictures on all influencer has been showing. So we didn't know that some of serving were going to be "Half Size". After, we paided $49 dollars each. Taco bar and Waffle Bar were good and look delicious but, everyhing else was just not what we expected and was not told we are getting items in half size some sizes. I wouldn't go back , I wouldn't do there unlimited brunch for 2 hours. The catfish was good and grits was so, so. Shrimp & grit was not really good - the lemon blueberry pancake were thin. The stuff french toast was just ok. Steak & eggs were just good. Cajun chicken pasta was ok- really no chicken but, season good. They didn't even offer cotton candy mimosas at all. It's advertised everywhere. If you order off the regular menu you should be good. From my pass visit for lunch. Here are pictures of advertise food from other reviews and what we received. Lunch while out shopping with my daughter. We got seated quickly but that is where the service ended. Seated outside and there were only two other tables that had guests. Waited awhile to have the waiter greet us to get our drink order. We went ahead & ordered food at the same time. I love a good margarita but this is not that place for that. It was gross. I ordered the caesar salad and paid extra to have chicken added. The amount of chicken added was a disappointment vs the price I paid. The salad was good and chicken flavorful. Went for brunch on Sunday sat outside on the patio while a DJ played upstairs, good vibes. We came for the bottomless brunch and Mimosa. Gotta say this was a first, why they advertise $25 unlimited drink menu??? you gotta read the fine print, that $25 is just the beginning, they put a $1 surcharge on every glass or drink you have, this is added on to the $25 Based on the avg brunch the $25 is already up there in pricing for unlimited mimosas but adding another $1 to every drink is very petty. Food was delicious. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Will definitely return. The meatballs were particularly good.

We were in the area and remembered that my husband had a $10 credit on the matchbox rewards program, so we decided to get a pizza and share. The cheese pizza (14") was nicely done and thin. Delicious, especially with the addition of some red pepper flakes and extra parmesan cheese. My husband also got a Double IPA (large) to go with the pizza. The bill came and the one glass of beer turned out to be $11.50. A bit steep for what I think....During their Social Hour customers can get $2-3 off some beers, so that brought the beer price a bit.....so the total for the meal was just under $20 before tip. Overall a good dining experience. Good crispy pizza and some good beer. read more
