I made a reservation through OpenTable, arrived on time, and was then told by the hostess that my reservation had been canceled because they no longer had seating available. How does that make any sense? If there was no availability, why was I able to book a reservation in the first place? What made the situation even worse was how it was handled. The fire and ice mojito was so sweet and had no taste of rum. I asked for a regular mojito instead and still sweet but better. And the lemonade was forgotten until we reminded the server while we already had our food. We all ordered after drinks - salads, shrimp and grits, breakfast plate, and chicken and waffles. My chicken and waffles were okay the syrup came out cold and the butter was an interesting consistency... They messed up the salad orders. There ended up being a line to be seated because no one was coming for at least 7 minutes. Sunday Brunch: We were disappointed. We got seated about 12:40. After our first drinks came at about 1, we waited for our server and didn't order a second drink or food until 1:40. The drinks came out wrong. Each time we ordered drinks they were different! I don't know if I was drinking a mimosa or a martini. We got 1 drink every hour with bottomless being $25 that's ridiculous and a waste especially if they actually enforced the 2 hour table limit. We could not enjoy the menu, atmosphere, music nor drinks because we were hAngry. Everything you order (drinks and food) takes 1 hour to come out. The drinks were room temperature. The brunch all you can drink is slightly misleading. $25 but $1 for every refill. Service is quick. MAYBE too quick. We ordered appetizers and our main courses and they all came out within minutes. The music was amazing, the crowd was great and eveyone genuinely seemed to have been enjoying their brunch! We were seated right away, and we placed our orders for a few Bloody Mary's, and 2 meals. I opted for the shrimp and grits, which was delicious! Well cooked shrimp, not overdone or tough, and the grits were seasoned well with Cajun spices. We also ordered the beef sliders, with a side of biscuits. The 2 meals came out, and the biscuits arrived about 20 minutes after we placed our orders. Seemed so odd for a very simple menu item. By the time they came out, we were done with our meals and asked for a box to take them with us. The Bloody Beer was delicious (a version of their Bloody Mary), it was refreshing, and had a good tomato to beer ratio. I never knew that Matchbox offered a bunch option, but is wonder if you're visiting with some friends. This place is very nicely decorated, very convenient and located in the mall property. They have a room for events that is separate from the dining room and is really a very fancy and elegant spot to throw a gathering of 20-30 ppl. I recently attended a work event here and the food was top-notch. Service and ambience the same. Very well done. I had the ribeye which was extremely flavorful, and cooked perfectly, especially considering around 15 others ordered it in my group (of about 25). The mashed potatoes and asparagus were also 5/5! But the star of the show was very surprising. It was the pear and walnut salad! With blue cheese which I usually hate! WTH do they put in that dressing!? Either way it is paired so well and excellently balanced. This was a triangulation of everything hitting the spot and the night being memorable because of the place we chose to do the dinner event. We ordered the sliders exactly as they appear on the menu--just with cheese added. What we got instead looked nothing like the presentation they advertise. No crispy onion straws, no seasoning, and absolutely no care in how it was put together. Just dry sliders buried in a pile of pickles with zero effort. We also ordered the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, which again looked NOTHING like the rich, creamy pasta they show or serve in-house. What we received was a watery, bland mess in a plastic container with barely any sauce & no bread. It looked and tasted like it came from a cafeteria tray, not a restaurant we've dined at and enjoyed in the past. The fact that this happened two days in a row is unacceptable. We were trying to give the benefit of the doubt after the first mess-up, but it's clear that consistency and quality control are lacking. While tempted by the unlimited buffet, my waistline demanded restraint. I got the stuffed French toast. I couldn't detect anything 'stuffing' the French toast. What I got was three big Texas toast-sized pieces of French toast, crispy like churros on the outside and fluffy inside, with strawberries and blueberries in sauce on top, a dollop of ?frosting?, and a sweet and flavorful sauce I used for dipping. Very filling. Near the end of my meal, I went to use the facilities. By the time I returned, my table had been given to another party. We did family style and everything was rated 9/10 and 10/10 which is pretty darn good! We enjoyed: The gigantic meatball- the size of a softball- moist, flavorful, and served with garlic bread. Caesar salad fresh greens with tasty croutons and cheese. Everyone enjoyed it. Chimichurri steak and frites cooked to perfection. Delicious! Pepperoni pizza- rated 10/10 cooked in their pizza ovens! Three sliders- also a 10/10 perfectly cooked with tasty onion strings Beignets- five plump pillows dusted in powdered sugar served alongside chocolate and raspberry sauce- they vanished as soon as they were delivered. Taco bar and Waffle Bar were good and look delicious but, everyhing else was just not what we expected and was not told we are getting items in half size some sizes. I wouldn't go back , I wouldn't do there unlimited brunch for 2 hours. The catfish was good and grits was so, so. Shrimp & grit was not really good - the lemon blueberry pancake were thin. The stuff french toast was just ok. Steak & eggs were just good. Cajun chicken pasta was ok- really no chicken but, season good. They didn't even offer cotton candy mimosas at all. We decided to come back and meet friends for dinner tonight and unfortunately the pizza was definitely not the same. It tasted like it was store bought small for a large and tasted like it was from frozen section even though we know they make it there on top of it it's not worth $24. There definitely has been a shift in the quality and taste of the food. The rib appetizer on happy hour menu was another favorite of ours and the cole slaw did not taste the same from when they opened, ribs were tough.
