We loved matchbox from when it first opened and were regular customers until we moved four years ago. We decided to come back and meet friends for dinner tonight and unfortunately the pizza was definitely not the same. It tasted like it was store bought small for a large and tasted like it was from frozen section even though we know they make it there on top of it it's not worth $24. There definitely has been a shift in the quality and taste of the food. The rib appetizer on happy hour menu was another favorite of ours and the cole slaw did not taste the same from when they opened, ribs were tough. We were a party of 8. We were seated upstairs. No buffet was ordered everyone ordered ala carte. I ordered the chicken and waffles. Presentation wise it was pretty and looked delicious. The problem was the chicken breast was so thin that when they fried it (possibly a little too long) it got hard so the knife wasn't cutting it. The cinnamon rolls were good. The other person that ordered the chicken and waffles had the same problem. Someone else ordered a skillet looking thing with steak and eggs. It was 4 strips of steak and was $32 for something that was the size of a side. Not even a plate. Additionally when they took the drink order my friend and I were completely overlooked and never asked what we wanted. The music was good but too loud to allow for a conversation to happen without shouting across the table. We asked for a manager who did come by at the end of the lunch when we had asked for one earlier. Maybe other food would have better. But based on this experience I won't be going back. read more

It was an early Sunday dinner for one, and a great first-time experience at this American dining restaurant. From the get-go, their hostess greeted me with a huge smile and set the ambiance to kick off my experience. Ken came right over and recommended a few drinks and starters. I decided on their red sangria and hot artichoke-spinach & cheese dip with pita bread instead of chips. They were just right! To my surprise, I was seated at the Wonder Woman matchbox table--I was happy as could be! The restaurant wasn't too busy. Since they have both indoor and outdoor seating, everyone was seated comfortably with enough room between them and other larger parties. It seems like a great place for a pre-game gathering with friends, although the FLA Live arena down the street hosts concerts and other events too. Ken was a Godsend! We talked briefly about food & drinks and I made some recommendations of my own. Without hesitation, I went in on my fish and chips, except I chose sweet potato fries instead and I was thrilled I did! The portions here are generous to where I had to take food home with me. Just as I was leaving, I found out they serve brunch on Saturdays & Sundays from 11 a.m - 3 p.m., and, they can help with corporate meetings, birthdays, showers, and other events. We previously loved Matchbox. I made some dietary changes and the menu was not as appealing, so we had not been in several years. My husband was in the mood for their pizza, so we went back recently on a Saturday afternoon. They now have brunch and a regular menu. The day we were there, it seemed like the kitchen could not keep up with providing both. The music is super loud, it has a club vibe more than a restaurant vibe. What a great dinner! Came here last night with friends for drinks and dinner and we had a great experience. From our wait staff to our food. Everything was awesome! I enjoyed a blackberry and sage mule and my husband had a Stella. We orders the spicy tuna tacos for appetizer and those were a hit! The perfect bite size taco that packs a punch in a little bite. For dinner I enjoyed the chimichurri steak with parm fries and my husband had the ribeye. Both dishes were delicious! Our kids enjoyed the pizza and mini sliders. Amazing, Fun Night! I made a reservation inside for 6 people for my husband's birthday, and as soon as we checked in, the hostess and manager told us they had a firepit table available, and asked if we would like to sit outside. The weather was 67 degrees - perfect to sit outside with a firepit! We were shown to our table, and there was a live singer singing a great selection of songs including Latin music. Natalie came to the table, introduced herself and was so friendly, and so attentive - she made suggestions, laughed with us, and made us feel so welcome. Stumbled upon the most amazing all-you-can-eat place the other day, and I just HAD to tell you about it. Seriously, it was incredible! I think I ate enough to feed a small village - I was completely full! The service was fantastic; they kept bringing out plate after plate of deliciousness right to our table. And the portions? I can't speak on the food because we only came for cocktails at the bar. I got the cucumber jalapeño margarita and I really liked it! I watched the bartender muddle the jalapeño into the drink and some places don't do all that. It was very delicious. My friend got the patio pounder lemonade and said it was very good as well. Came on a whim as I was shopping at Sawgrass and wanted some place that wouldn't have a long wait. It's away from the crowds located in the Colonnade outlet section, the higher end of Sawgrass. On a busy Saturday evening, we were seated and served promptly. The service was spot on. The meatball was our starter, it really was ginormous. It will run you $15 but I'd say it's worth it. The pizza was just okay, it was flavorful but not the best I've had, it was more of a bar style. My husband got a chicken sandwich, priced at $19 is a bit steep, but it was a large portion and came with some yummy fries. The only thing I was bummed about was that there wasn't happy hour on the weekends, since their happy hour prices seem much more reasonable. If there was weekend happy hour it may have drawn in more of a crowd. I'd definitely return during the week for happy hour if I'm in the Sawgrass area. read more

And when you order for pick up the only side options you get online are either slaw or fries ..... seriously why would anyone pay about 28 for just ribs and a side of slaw ???.... Such a rip-off and deceptive advertisement. And both my pizza and ribs were cold! I have eaten at Matchbox several times since they opened almost five years. I like the setup of the restaurant. It feels like I am up north with a woodsy feel. I mainly order pizza here but have also had their fried chicken sandwich and their burger sliders. I like their sliders a lot. The meat is juicy and flavorful. The chicken sandwich is pretty good but maybe a little too fried for my taste. I do like the pizza best. It is flavorful and the cheese is delicious. The only thing is the crust is very thin. I like a thicker crust but will still come back here foe the pizza again and again. They have a Happy Hour. It is from 3 to 6 Monday through Friday. Went on a Tuesday night and it was relatively empty. There is inside and outside seating, we chose to sit inside but a member of my group has previously come and sat outside and they lit the fires for him at the outside tables. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive and always made sure our drinks were full. We ordered the fried macaroni appetizer and it was so so good, I highly recommend it. It's very rich and creamy and the sauce is the perfect pairing. Perfect for sharing as it may be too rich to eat all alone. The apple pear salad was also very good with a nice vinaigrette. My group all felt that the lobster fettuccine was bland but they were generous with the lobster and the pasta was a perfect al dente. Overall a really pleasant experience. read more
