I'm very familiar with Earl's Miami Worldcenter location so I was excited to see how Las Olas compared. Stopped by on a Saturday evening and the upstairs bar was very busy. The bartenders advised that Friday evenings were even better for networking. We ended up getting a few drinks and I was looking to eat something light so I went with the chicken fingers which hit the spot. The rest of my party enjoyed their martinis and small bites as well, but I don't remember what exactly they ordered. There were plenty of bartenders so service at the bar was fast and very attentive. Last Friday we decided for dinner on Las Olas. We chose @Earls Kitchen + Bar The hostess stand were run by a boy and a girl. We were told a 15 to 20 minutes wait, so we sat at the bar and had a drink. My girlfriend, a teacher, was excited to come here as many of her collegues had been talking about it. A younger then us crowd, very lively and a good looking menu. But after 40 minutes we were getting anxious for food, and we noticed that many people after us got seated. I asked the two at the hostess stand where we were on the list, and could see our name as the next to be seated. However, another few couples got their tables before us. When we finally challenged a few staff, they start sending us upstairs, with the promise of inside availability. The two at the hostess stand shrugged their shoulders and waved us off like they didn't know what happened. But upstairs was full and nothing again available for us. When we cam back downstairs and asked what happened the two smugly said we can go somewhere else, as they were busy, with no one in line behind us. This is the treatment attitude of two that will make your dinner a nasty experience. We tried in good faith to have dinner here, but apparently the screening is done at the hostess stand. I went to Earls Kitchen + Bar restaurant on August 3rd to see my former college friends (three women). I hadn't seen one of them in years, so it was good seeing her again. I was the first to arrive at the restaurant. There are no stairs entering the restaurant. We sat behind the host stand. The ambiance of the restaurant was bamboo, boho style, with plants throughout the restaurant. The restaurant does have an upper level which has another bar and restrooms. I do hate that there are no restrooms on the first floor; you have to take the elevator to the second floor for the restrooms. At Earls Kitchen + Bar on the 2nd floor, they only allow customers to sit in the patio area during dinner time. The women's restroom is very spacious; it was clean during my time there, and most importantly, I loved the lighting in the restroom. Now, on to the food. One of my friends ordered sushi, another ordered nachos, and we all had cocktails since on Mondays margaritas and martinis are half off. I ordered the Don Julio Margarita, and I had a total of three of those drinks. That Don Julio Margarita was bomb and made just right. For lunch, I ordered the shrimp + scallop spaghettini that came out so dry since it didn't have basil almond pesto, roasted tomatoes, cilantro, or parmesan in it. Now, Server Geraldina should have informed me that if I didn't want that on the shrimp + scallop spaghettini, it would come out dry, because then I would have chosen a different meal. I do remember the server having a thick accent; sometimes it was hard to understand her, but overall, Geraldina did a fabulous job serving my table. I can't wait to go back for dinner and get more of the Don Julio Margaritas. So, if you're ever in the Las Olas area, I highly recommend you check it out. read more

Happy Hour at Earl's Kitchen + Bar was a lovely way to celebrate my friend's birthday. The dining area is spacious with two floors. We sat at the bar with the World Cup playing. Our bartender was friendly and offered recommendations. My friend and I shared the birria tacos, Szechuan shrimp + pork dumplings & truffle fries. The dumplings were the star of the show! They were so flavorful & succulent. The birria tacos left something to be desired; a bit salty and resembled a birria quesadilla more than a taco. I had such an amazing experience at Earl's! I came in with a party of six for a bridesmaid proposal dinner with my girls. From start to finish, the service was incredible. Every staff member we encountered was so kind and welcoming. Paige, the Guest Experience Manager, went above and beyond by creating a custom table sign and surprising us with a bottle of champagne to celebrate my milestone. The GM, Eddie, also stopped by to wish us well, which made the experience feel so personal. Our server, Keilani, was an absolute sweetheart and made sure we had everything we needed. She constantly checked on us, double checked things and knew the menu well. The food was delicious! The Shrimp & Scallop Spaghetti was cheesy, pesto goodness. The corn & avocado dip was our favorite starter. The Lychetini was unique with subtle floral notes. I waited a few days before writing this review because I've been in a full blown relationship conflict with Earl's Kitchen + Bar. On one hand, this place is gorgeous. Like "let's take pictures before we eat because this patio belongs in a lifestyle magazine" gorgeous. Las Olas energy at its finest. The outdoor seating is fantastic, the atmosphere feels upscale without being stuffy, and honestly, the food was outstanding. Which is why this hurts. We came for Mother's Day brunch and intentionally avoided rushing over for happy hour pricing because we wanted a relaxed meal. Adult decision. Responsible. Mature. Mistake number one apparently. Started with the charred corn and avocado dip and I need whoever created that dish to be recognized with some sort of civic award. Ridiculously good. One of those appetizers where you immediately start calculating whether licking the bowl in public is socially acceptable. Then came the steak and eggs discussion. My wife and I were both looking at the steak and eggs listed on the menu for $26.75. Our waiter explained that the standard steak was only four ounces and casually suggested upgrading to a six ounce or eight ounce cut instead. Now listen carefully because this is where the plot twists into a financial thriller. At no point during this conversation was pricing for the upgrade mentioned. And shame on me for not asking. That part is absolutely on me. But the suggestion was delivered with the same casual energy as "would you like fries with that?" So I upgraded to the eight ounce. My wife went with the six ounce. She also had a margarita she loved. We skipped dessert because we were stuffed and, as it turns out, accidentally entering a luxury cattle futures market. Then the handheld payment machine arrived. $175. I stared at that screen like it had just informed me my mortgage was due immediately. Turns out those extra six ounces of sirloin between the two plates carried an upcharge that could finance a small fishing boat. Roughly ten dollars an ounce for the upgrade. Somewhere, a Wagyu cow laughed at me from a distance. And look, before anybody jumps in, yes... I should have asked. Lesson learned. But restaurants also know exactly what they're doing when upgrade pricing gets floated around casually without numbers attached. There's a difference between upselling and a sneak attack. Which makes this review frustrating because I genuinely loved almost everything else. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was fantastic. Service was friendly. But nothing tanks the ending of a brunch quite like feeling blindsided by steak math. Pro tip for future diners: If they suggest the upgraded steak, ask the price immediately. Ask twice. Possibly get it notarized. Three stars because I really do want to come back someday. But right now I still feel like I got hit with a reverse happy hour. read more

We started with a lemon drop martini since margaritas & martinis are half off on Mondays. Drink was strong and so good. We then ordered the steak and sushi with the spicy salmon crispy rice. The steak came in a refreshing ponzu sauce. I wish there was more fish on the crispy rice, but it was still very good! We also ordered the ahi tuna poke bowl. Came here Saturday night with a friend during peak hours and it was packed, about an hour wait, but we were able to grab seats at the bar right away, which worked out perfectly. We started with a passion fruit martini and the mango smoke show margarita, both were so good. For appetizers, we had the sticky Korean ribs and Szechuan shrimp & pork dumplings, and honestly... incredible. Tons of flavor with just the right amount of spice. Pricing was around $14-$20, but portions were solid so no complaints there. We split the carne tacos (comes with two plus chips and salsa). Heads up, the chips and tacos both have a spicy kick, but everything was super flavorful. The steak was cooked medium rare and I don't usually go for that, but it was actually so good. Dessert was the crème brûlée lava cake with strawberries, vanilla ice cream, and chocolate drizzle...rich, indulgent, and the perfect way to end the night. Earl's has a great vibe on Los Olas in Fort Lauderdale. Ambiance is beautiful. We are on the rooftop and the bar is stunning. The service was really good and the food was even better. We had a few burgers, corn and avocado dip, spicy Calabrese pasta and the tortellini. I tried everyone's meal and I was really impressed with the consistency of quality in each dish. My favorite was the tortellini. What could be a basic dish was made fresh with lemon zest and a light cream sauce. The cocktails were on point too. Stopped by this spot on our last day in Florida after an eventful F1 weekend. Needless to say we came to the perfect place. Started off with some drinks, a whiskey sour and a Bellini Margarita. Both tasted great! As far as appetizers go, we started off with the Yuzu calamari, perfectly fried and extremely flavorful. For the Entrees we ordered the Baja style tacos to share and each got the steak and sushi. Went with the crispy spicy salmon and crispy spicy tuna to pair with the steak. Decided to try this spot after a show at the Broward Center. Their full menu is available late night which is a huge plus. The hostess was very friendly and quickly seated us even though the place was pretty busy at 10:45pm on a Thursday night. The server was just as friendly and on point the entire night. Another bonus, their happy hour is 10pm until closing time (1am). I got the Earl's old fashioned and it was tasty. We got their maple glazed tomahawk pork chop and the Korean beef bibimbap for our entrees. The kurobuta pork chop was HUGE! A very impressive presentation and it was cooked perfectly. Tender, lean and juicy! It came with a bacon jam on top, mashed potatoes, broccoli rabe, and a spicy peppercorn jus. The bibimbap came in a huge bowl that was super hot. The server said to pour the desired amount of gochujang sauce, that's served on the side, and mix the bowl well with two huge spoons that come with it. The concept is that the rice on the bottom becomes crispy from the heat and will likely burn if you don't mix it (like I said the bowl was super heated). This was a delicious experience if you like crispy rice. The entire time I ate the rice more parts became crispy from sitting on the bottom. The ingredients in the bowl were just as tasty! Kimchi, carrots, tender beef, ginger soy mushrooms, broccoli rabe pieces, and a soft egg! The rooftop part was closed when we got there due to a private party. Came here for dine out Fort Lauderdale around 6 pm. We made reservations since we were a large party. The place is cutely decorated with a rooftop dining space. The main dining area is more family oriented. The roof top seems more relaxing and calm. Looks like a great spot for a stress relieving lunch. We ordered from the dine out Fort Lauderdale 3 course menu. It comes with an appetizer, main, and dessert. The appetizers are 1/2 size appetizers. The mains appear to be full size portions. And dessert is a choice of a chocolate lava cake with ice cream or a cheesecake slice. The steak was lacking a bit of the steak flavor. It was otherwise tender and cooked to my liking. The truffle tortellini was missing the truffle flavor but the blackened shrimp was excellent. Both desserts were delicious but the cheesecake is likely to be one of the best cheese cakes I've ever had. My aperol spritz was delicious with a unique refreshing flavor. This is a perfect spot for date night or girls night out, the inside is so nice and the rooftop is perfect. The only thing is you don't get a clear view of the street view of Las Olas. But if it's not too hot, I recommend sitting outside. My favorite dish has to be the steak and sushi, which is a tataki style prime sirloin in a Ponzo sauce. And I paired it with the crispy sushi roll, which had a burst of incredible flavor. The calamari was nice and crispy topped with jalapeño and fresh cucumber. Decided to go here for our anniversary and did a lunch thing instead of dinner. Was super easy to make Sunday reservations, we were seated promptly and were able to sit upstairs despite the gloomy weather earlier that day. They have outdoor rooftop seating but we opted for inside. After wathching tiktok, I knew I had to try the sticky ribs, then I opted for the steak and sushi and my partner the surf and turf with shrimp as well as a crab cake on the side and the crème brûlée cheesecake for dessert. They serve brunch until 4pm , so I got the bottomless mojitos since that was an option for $19. The rest of the food was delicious and reasonably priced. Now to the taste test, starting with the ribs; they were amazing. Good portion size, tasty and a little spicy but very good. Then our entered came and although my partners steak was overcooked they comped so things for us to make it worth it. My steak was in this sauce that you could put on any protein, the sushi was wagyu which was delicious as well. The crab cake was all crab, no filler, all of it was great. I'm in town visiting friends and family this weekend, so a friend and I stopped by for Happy Hour, last night. A Friday. Their Happy Hour menu had a decent amount of offerings, both food and cocktail wise. Unfortunately, the flavors aren't there. One exception to this rule is the steak frites - the steak was cooked nicely - we ordered it medium rare. Very tender and seasoned well. We opted to order a second plate after we finished, however the chef may have gotten a little heavy-handed with the salt this time around, but still tasty. This order was accompanied by truffle fries & a dipping sauce. All in all, a good plate. In addition to the steak frites, we ordered a couple of the baja tacos, crispy rice with salmon, 6 oysters & a couple of dirty martini's. The baja tacos & crispy rice with salmon were fine, the martini's were also just fine, but the oysters however, we an absolute no. Presentation was okay, the oysters were on the smaller side, which is acknowledged, they were east coast oysters. Where on the east coast? Not sure. In any case, for $3 a pop, (for Happy Hour, that's an insane price - but we knew that when we ordered, so that part is on us). With that, we were hoping for a decent bunch of oysters. Not the case, to the point we left two on the plate. Note, the oysters were barely shucked, so you had to completely remove the oyster from the shell yourself prior to endulging. It's like the chef started the process, then just gave up. One oyster had the amount of meat the size of a dime. And that's being overly generous. Our waitress seemed unlhased when we mentioned the barely existent oyster & said, "they're small, they're east coast oysters" - I'm sure that comment is on repeat.
