I ended up making an OpenTable reservation at YOLO while waiting for someone to land at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, and the location couldn't have been more convenient. It's just a short drive from the airport, and there are several parking garages nearby. I reserved parking ahead of time through ParkWhiz, which saved me a little money and made everything hassle-free. I had a 4:00 p.m. reservation but arrived a little early, which worked out perfectly because happy hour was still going on. Instead of waiting for my table, I grabbed a seat at the bar--and as an espresso martini girl, I was pleasantly surprised to find they were only $5 during happy hour instead of the regular $16. That alone made it worth arriving early. The happy hour food special was also a great value: pick any three items from the menu for $23. We ordered the coconut shrimp, which came with three large, flavorful shrimp; the spicy salmon cannolis, which were like crispy fried sushi cannolis topped with a creamy avocado spread (two per order); and the Szechuan calamari. The calamari was a generous portion with great flavor, although it came with quite a bit of sauce. If you eat it right away while it's still crispy, it's excellent, but it can get a little soggy if it sits too long. The atmosphere was trendy and comfortable. It was nice and cool inside initially, although once they opened the bar windows it warmed up enough to become a little uncomfortable. Still, the service was good, the food was flavorful, and the happy hour pricing was one of the best values I've found in the area. The only thing I'd love to see is a military discount, as they don't currently offer one. Overall, I'd definitely come back--especially if I'm looking for a great happy hour or need a convenient place to eat before picking someone up from the Fort Lauderdale airport.
3.8/5 -- Beautiful atmosphere, excellent cocktails, with some room for improvement YOLO on East Las Olas is absolutely beautiful. I loved the rustic, upscale décor and overall atmosphere. It's definitely a restaurant that makes an impression when you walk in. Cocktails: 5/5 The bar was one of the highlights. The Build Your Own YOLO Spritz was light and refreshing, and I loved the Ketel One Botanicals and sparkling-water options. The Caribbean Night was fruity and light, but the Rita Peach was my favorite. The Don Julio, peach, and agave were extremely well balanced. Food: 3.5-3.8/5 The Wagyu Meatballs were flavorful, juicy, and incredibly tender, and the whipped ricotta with marinara was delicious. Unfortunately, ours were undercooked. Since our server didn't check back very often, we didn't have much opportunity to address it. The Tuna & Salmon Tartare was refreshing and beautifully presented. The crispy chips gave it great texture, and I loved the sweet chili and gluten-free soy sauce served in droppers. I only felt it needed a fatty component, such as avocado, to really complete the dish. The Pan-Seared Sea Bass was delicious--juicy, perfectly cooked, with a sweet miso glaze that balanced nicely with the fish. The mushrooms were a little overpowering for me, and the eggplant and bok choy became somewhat soft underneath the glaze. Next time I'd probably request the mushrooms and glaze on the side. The Flambé Chicken Parmesan was excellent and beautifully presented tableside. The cheese was rich, the sauce was delicious, and surprisingly, the chicken remained crispy underneath it. The mashed potatoes were unfortunately very bland, but we exchanged them for the truffle fries, which were exceptional. Service: Our server, Ivan, was polite, but I wanted more engagement and guidance. YOLO prefers guests to place their appetizers, entrées, and sides together, but we weren't told this until we tried ordering our appetizers. That's something I think should be explained during the initial greeting. I also would have appreciated hearing about YOLO's signature dishes, best sellers, and tableside experiences. I became interested in returning for the tomahawk because I watched it being presented to another table--not because it was recommended to us. At a restaurant with this much personality, I think the service should help showcase what makes the menu special. That said, it was a busy Saturday night, so I absolutely give Ivan some grace. A little more attentiveness and enthusiasm would have elevated the experience considerably. We sat outside, and one of the fans didn't seem to be working properly. With the Florida heat and several flambé dishes being prepared tableside, it became warm pretty quickly. Would I return? Absolutely. YOLO is an easy recommendation for cocktails and small bites, but don't overlook the entrées. There were enough things I genuinely enjoyed--and enough dishes I saw going to other tables--that I'm curious to explore more of the menu. And I'm definitely coming back for that tomahawk. Overall: 3.8/5. Beautiful restaurant, fantastic cocktails, impressive presentation, and some very good food. With slightly stronger execution and more attentive, engaging service, I could easily see my next visit pushing this into 4+ territory.
Good food, good vibes, good views... Parking: challenging as it is on Las Olas. But there are garages near by. We did valet for around $10 Food: we had a variety of dishes. My fave was the Ahi Tuna with Bok Choy. They have an expansive drink menu. Atmosphere: really nice vibe always. This place is always packed. Both the indoor and outdoor dining environments are great. Great for people watching. Service: very good and attentive staff! Age group: mainly adults. 30s to one one hundred! Return: yes!
The vibes, views, ambiance, music, and energy here made the ride to Las Olas worth it. We came to meet with some friends for food and drinks. I had a spritz which was good and dynamite roll as my appetizer. I never got to the entree because our server Ryan wasn't the most attentive. When I asked for a suggestion between the calamari or the roll, she said the roll, but I'll just come back when you're ready to order. And walked off. I tried to flag her down, she came back I said, hey two things we never got napkins and before I could place my entree order...she walked off again. Still no order. We actually had to get napkins from the security. By the time she did bring those we were about done with the food. And I was over it. The roll was good however. I'd go back again for the place and pray for better service.
My first time dining at YOLO. I tagged along to my fiancée's bunch reservation with her friends and the experience was nicer than what I expected. They have nicely decorated interior and covered patios, as well as outdoor seating. We had a reservation for seven people at 11:30am. The hostess informed us that we can't be seated until at least 6 of the 7 people arrive. Even though the restaurant was very empty, we waited out of respect to the company's policy. After half an hour wait time, the shift manager(?) came out and said she can seat our party but this would be a one time accommodation. After being led out onto the patio, our server came to take our drink orders, appetizers, and entrees. He was professional and efficient, just didn't seem too friendly. (He did bring out a birthday dessert for us so maybe he was just shy to smile and seem happy). The food was better than what I have imagined. For starters we ordered Margherita flat bread and Szechuan calamari, and I highly recommend both to everyone to try at least once. For entrees everyone got different ones, but for me, I ordered the YOLO Churrasco with two sides. My friend ordered the truffle mac and cheese and let me tell you, the flavor is strong on the truffle side but it's one of the better truffle mac and cheese I have tasted in a long time. Props to the YOLO chefs. If this is what girls do when they go out for girls date for brunch, us men have been missing out on life. Lol bottomless mimosas, decent food, great company, and juicy gossip, invite me to the next one! The parking situation is kinda crazy so you can just valet park or park in one of the many parking garages nearby. Yes I would definitely recommend this place to others and will be back again myself. Thank you YOLO for the great first time dining experience!
**GOAT ALERT** MONSTEROUS $28 Steak salad! Holy smokes, I'm glad I ordered this. This salad is an all-timer and on my GOAT list. The bartender told me this was her favorite item on the menu after I ordered it, and it did not disappoint. I would come back here daily for this steak salad if I moved back to Fort Lauderdale. I had an $18 After Glow - Excellent - Heck of a mezcal drink. Finally a place that can do mezcal right! For dessert I was really craving the donuts. The bartender tried to talk me out of it, and she was right. I guess I missed the part where they come out with sparklers like you're at a night club. Was a little awkward at the bar by myself, but it was fun. The donuts sucked. Would never order those again, but the sparklers were fun. Great spot for drinks and that steak salad!
I came here for the first time for an event with my amazing peers from "Black in HR". I appreciated that they had valet parking for one. As I do not like to struggle looking for parking just to visit a good place. The ambiance of the restaurant was awesome. We also had great service, which accommodating Ed when it started to rain and we needed to move under the roof area. The food was delicious as well. My favorite was the steak and asparagus. I also loved my drink, "Our Little Secret". It was a sweet drink with a spicy kick to it. This place has good music and gets lit. But can be tough when having a networking event as there were many occasions in which we could barely hear each other talk or have a conversation.
Very hip, and vibrant restaurant nestled on Las Olas strip with shops and eateries all around. Went in for brunch and left out very satisfied. The service was good, the meal was decadent and the violinist was the perfect backdrop to a great Sunday mid-morning.
Probably the best "vibes" happy hour on a Friday around. Absolutely love this place. Live Dj spinning knobs and pushing buttons, outside bar and tables great drinks and beautiful people. If you haven't hit YOLO up, then I suggest you do.
Got a table for lunch right away. Only have a few apps to share but everything was great! The ambiance and the service were on point. Calamari was definitely our favorite. Quick walk from the hotel we were staying at and lots of things to do around this area
When I came here, I noticed a lot of people come here for birthdays, bachelorettes, etc. We came here for my friend's birthday. It's a cool ambiance inside, but it's overpriced food. We ordered the calamari, which was ok. It was more crisps than anything else and not very flavorful without the sauce. I tried the Greek Salad, which was okay. As a heads up, it doesn't come with lettuce; you have to add it on. My friend ordered the Kale Caesar, which looked good, but she said it was dry (the shrimp though was good). Overall, it's a good place to go to for vibes, but the food isn't really worth the price.
Food was good and service was fantastic. Ask for Melanie, she was great a took care of us!
This spot was good! Drinks were yummy. Food was good. Our waitress was attentive and sweet - the only thing that threw us off was whether it was another waiter or a manager bringing the food out they wouldn't say anything just dropped the food off and walked away which was weird. Overall would come back Sometime

Great spot for happy hour. The cocktails are $8, which is great pricing on Las Olas. They are decorated beautifully for the holidays. The atmosphere is gorgeous, both inside and out. We were there for a ladies night event, and it was a bummer they didn't honor the complimentary drink, however we still enjoyed the happy hour pricing. The drinks were strong and tasty. The service was a bit slow, maybe because there was an event, but it wasn't very crowded for a Wednesday night. They have valet readily available or metered parking out front and a garage nearby. It's definitely a spot to check out, especially for happy hour. They have both food and drinks on their hh menu, which is a perk! read more

We went to YOLO for Happy Hour around 4:30pm on a Friday and were very happy to get seats at the bar. The server immediately gave us menus and service was quick and attentive all throughout. I fell in love with the Butterfly Kiss - a unique and delicious drink! We ordered the short rib sliders, truffle fries, and ceviche all of which were delicious! I especially liked the ceviche - not something you typically see on a happy hour menu. We will definitely come for happy hour again! read more
I had a very enjoyable experience at YOLO. I ordered the Greek salad with grilled chicken, and while it was not what I typically expect a Greek salad to look like, it was genuinely very good. It is definitely a non-traditional take, but well executed and flavorful, and I enjoyed it thoroughly once I adjusted my expectations. I also ordered a cocktail (unfortunately I cannot recall the exact name, but it was something along the lines of a "Caribbean...") and it was excellent. In addition, I added a side of truffle fries simply because I was craving fries, and they did not disappoint. Everything came out quickly and was prepared well. The service was equally strong. My waitress was attentive, checked on me several times, and took my order promptly. I was seated right away with no wait and appreciated having the option to sit outside. The restaurant itself is very chic and was decorated beautifully for the holidays. Overall, I was very happy with my experience and will absolutely be coming back. read more
Came here for a Monday afternoon lunch with a friend. No need for a reservation as there were some available tables. There's a parking garage right behind or valet parking available. We opted for the tasting menu ($29) for our lunches. I chose the sushi roll and my friend got the meatballs. The sushi was 4 pieces. Perfect for a single person appetizer and I enjoyed it. The meatballs appetizer was massive! 3 giant meatballs! Would have been enough for a group of people to share. We both got the Mediterranean bowl for our entree. Be aware that it will be extra money to add any protein to the bowl. I opted for rice as a base and the salmon protein. I asked for the sauce on the side as the server said it was a bit spicy. My friend got the chicken thigh for her protein. Both were very good, had plenty of each topping, and good size portions of protein. There was a dessert option for the tasting menu or to just include our sodas, so we opted for the sodas as we were both so full. Overall a nice visit and I wouldn't mind checking out dinner or weekend brunch. read more

Came here to celebrate a birthday and were greeted with a lively atmosphere. The interior design of YOLO is very sexy and great for group dining. If you're looking for a fun dinner spot with elegant and elevated cocktails and flavorful high quality dishes YOLO is the perfect place. There is a club associated with the restaurant and they offer bottle services. Drinks food service and ambiance were all great! read more

I celebrated my birthday at YOLO and it definitely didn't disappoint! I started with the calamari, which was perfectly crispy and a great appetizer. For my entrée, I had the Spicy Lobster Rigatoni, and it was absolutely delicious. The lobster was tender, the pasta was cooked perfectly, and the spicy cream sauce had just the right amount of heat without overpowering the dish. The service was great and the atmosphere was awesome. read more
Pretty underwhelming to say the least. The server seemed confused the whole shift, had to ask multiple times for refills on drinks. When the food got delivered, all but one was delivered and it took another 10 minutes to get the missing dish with apology or explanation to the missing dish. The food was okay but definitely not worth the price. Nothing really stood out. Pretty disappointing. read more

I came here yesterday on a Friday for lunch with two coworkers. Can't believe I haven't been here before!!! It was awesome. The food was amazing. I ordered the tuna roll and Mac and cheese. It was amazing. Flavor was great. Portions were big. Pricing wasn't bad. The restaurant is also very beautiful and upscale. Feels like a nice place to go out. I can't wait to come here with the hubby bc I think he will love it. Service was also amazing. Our waitress was so nice and she was teaching a new waiter who was super nice too. I loved this place and I will be coming back! Next time to try the cocktails. read more

This was my second time visiting YOLO. The first time I came was for a girls' brunch on a Sunday, where we enjoyed the bottomless mimosas. I remember having the fried shrimp, which was served with guacamole, and I really enjoyed it. We sat on the patio, which was nicely shaded and had fans to keep us cool. Yesterday we went for happy hour and also sat on the patio. Although it was pretty hot outside, the shade and fans kept it comfortable. They have a happy hour menu from 4:30 to 6:30 PM with some really good options. We started with the spicy tuna roll, which comes with four pieces, and the seafood ceviche. The ceviche was served with white fish and shrimp, and I really enjoyed the sauce it came with as well as the crispy taro chips. We also ordered the Hamachi Crudo and the tuna tartare. I definitely recommend the tuna tartare. It tasted so fresh I could have eaten a whole other plate. It usually comes with rice cake chips, but I swapped them for taro chips. We didn't indulge in any cocktails this time, but their happy hour cocktail menu is great, with drinks starting at only eight dollars. I was surprised the location wasn't busier during happy hour because they really do have excellent options. The crispy shrimp I had on my first visit is also available during happy hour, which I would have loved to try again, but we were already very full. There is street parking or valet, though I'm not sure of the price. The restaurant is toward the end of Las Olas, tucked in a corner, so there is some street traffic noise, but it didn't bother us. Our service was good; our server was attentive, kept the table clean, and refilled drinks promptly. As a former server, I really appreciate when tables are well taken care of without dirty plates piling up. read more

I really enjoyed YOLO. I went for a brunch and it did not disappoint. I honestly loved everything about this visit. The restaurant is beautiful and cozy but at the same time upbeat. Beautiful decor. The service was impeccable. Very attentive and helpful, which made our visit even more enjoyable. The food was great ! I ordered the bottomless mimosas and left feeling pretty great. I had an amazing experience at YOLO! We sat at the bar, and from the moment we arrived, everything flowed smoothly. We were able to eat comfortably there and ordered our drinks without any delay. The bartender was attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. The atmosphere was vibrant and stylish, perfect for a night out on Las Olas. The food was delicious and full of flavor, and the drinks were just as good. Overall, it was a great experience from start to finish. All of the food was pretty tasty here and the outdoor patio was such a vibe!! This is such a busy place so make sure to make a reservation, especially for big groups. Even with our reservation, we had to wait around 30-40 minutes for our table to be ready. The only other negative I have is that they were constantly bringing stuff to our table that we didn't order & getting annoyed when we said it wasn't ours. I made sure it wasn't on the bill at the end because it happened so many times, it seemed intentional. Now for more positives-- the yolo cosmo was the perfect cocktail I loved it so much!! I had the kale Caesar with steak and it was soooo delicious 10/10. The dragon sushi roll was very tasty as well. All the food we ordered was delish! read more
My wife and I went to YOLO while on vacation in South Florida. We were there during the week so decided to hit up their happy hour. The restaurant has an upscale modern vibe with lots of outdoor seating and plenty of indoor seating as well. For happy hour you have to sit outside, that was fine with us since we wanted to sit outside. The server was nice and knowledgeable and helped us make decisions on what to get. For drinks I got an Old Fashioned and my wife got a Lychee martini, my drink was good but here's was awesome!! For food we got couple of sushi rolls, a flatbread, and ceviche. The ceviche was amazing!! The flatbread was delicious but bigger and heavier than we were expecting. The sushi was very fresh and flavorful. Not sure what the dinner is like but the happy hour was very good, we will definitely go again the next time we're in Las Olas. read more

Came here for one of my best friends birthday after never coming before. She had made a reservation for 16 and they sat us a long table right next to the bar that was only set for 14 people. We told the hostess that it was 16 and not 14 and there was a lot of back and forth about it. We ultimately had to squish someone on the booths and then the manager brought over a chair for the other end of the table that my fiance sat on but the chair was much higher than the other chairs so he looked down on the table and his back hurt from it. The drinks were good, I think everyone enjoyed theirs. The food was okay. I liked the calamari and the flatbread a lot. I thought the meatballs were a little plain. My best friend (the bday girl) ordered the allá vodka pasta and she thought it was bland with no flavor and then wound up finding a chicken bone in it. She sent it back and asked for the lobster rigatoni instead but it was taking so long and most people were done eating that she just wound up getting it to go. The place was very loud and the bar was SO crowded that people were literally standing over our table while we ate or bumping into us. It wasn't a great idea to have such a large party right next to the bar. It just seems like they just shoved us in wherever even if it didn't fit us/wasn't a great spot so we weren't thrilled overall. I'm not sure if we'll be back. read more

I had not been to YOLO in quite some time and I realized how much I missed it. The food was very good. The reservation system is a little of putting when there is not a human to speak to, just Ai. When we showed up, we were given a choice to sit inside or on the driveway patio. We had a nice booth inside near the bar and the noise level at lunch was not too loud. Our server seemed to be a little new and had a few minor slip ups but did well. All our food was delivered corre tly just not all at one time. The lunch special menu is perfect for a lunch with many great options. I started with the Dragon sushi roll which had 4 pieces served cold and fresh. The Mediterranean Bowl was a nice portion of peppers, tomatoes, red onion and marinated chick peas surrounding fresh greens in a big bowl. My husband had the Grilled Snapper Sandwich with a choice of side. The French fries were hand cut and perfectly cooked. A little crispy and well seasoned. The ambiance inside was a little dark like a bistro but pretty and the bar area is both inside and outside. I definitely want to come back to try some of the other menu items that all sounded great. read more
Totally surprised by the quality of the food here, totally unexpected. Everything we ordered was really good. We came in for an early dinner before a show at Broward Center. Had the meatballs - delicious, but it was a big portion for just two people (three giant meatballs). Pizza was good, but the star of the show was the salmon. I couldn't tell if it was roasted or baked, but damn, that was the best salmon I've ever had, I don't know how they made it thoroughly cooked (which is the way I like it), but not at all dried out. If I could only figure out how to cook salmon like that at home, I'd be happy. Service was friendly. There's a self-park garage around the corner if you don't want to valet. It can be loud here because of the after work happy hour crowd. Outdoor seating was nice, but felt a bit dark and closed off since we were seated on the side, not in the front. read more
Incredible experience and meal at YOLO. This was my second time here, as I haven't been in years (I live in IL) and I was thoroughly impressed. The food is fantastic and cooked to perfection. The octopus appetizer is the best octopus I have ever had. Tuna tartare is also another one of our favorites. The service was amazing, even on a busy Thursday night. Their happy hour is fantastic as well (I believe it's from 4-7 pm) and never disappoints. The ambiance is super upbeat and energetic. This is one of our favorites in SoFlo! read more

My second time coming to YOLO for dinner and the vibes were just great . We had a reservation around 8pm ... but we got there earlier and we found some seat available at the bar so we decided to get some drinks at the bar and the lychee martinis are soo good and fresh ! Definitely my favorite! Is the appetizer with shrimp and guacamole dip . I can't remember the name of it ... but I loved it ! Can't wait to come here again for happy hour and even for date night . read more
