They also have a lovely decorated patio for outdoor brunching on cooler days. Reservations are highly recommended on weekends as the restaurant does tend to fill up. We munched on the smoked salmon bagel and divorced eggs. Both were delicious. The drinks were perfectly made as well. I was a huge fan of the lavender tea latte. Light and creamy, topped with dried lavender buds for fragrance. With each sip, the fragrance filled my nostrils making my drink that much more enjoyable. Our smiling waitress recommended the Rose Petal Dream cocktail for "dessert". I absolutely love wait staff who senses the vibe and goes with it..lol. This was our 3rd time at the little hen and sadly it's wasn't as good as our past visits. The service was good and the young lady taking care of us was very nice. The restaurant has always had a nice atmosphere and is very pretty inside. Unfortunately this time the food was lacking. I had the Cuban bagel sandwich and my wife had the ham and egg omelette. It's was not a matter of the portion size and there was plenty of food. Something about the flavor was just off it was almost tasteless for both of us. The other thing I was bothered by was that they brought water to the table. Unbeknownst to use they put a charge on the check for the water. I'm not being petty, it was only $2.00 but it was not bottled or fancy water. When I ask what the charge was for, they immediately took it off the check. Are we at this point not. We visited for Father's Day--my husband, our two daughters, my son, and I--and our bill came to $300. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be returning. We also experienced an inconvenience upon arrival. Although they had our reservation in the system, we had not been assigned a table. This was an issue that should have been handled internally rather than explained to us as customers. Overall, while the atmosphere and food were enjoyable, the high prices and the reservation issue left a disappointing impression. I have come back 4 yrs later. I was in the area so I said why not. I placed a Togo order for the crab quiche and the scone basket. It was about 10am when I got there. I was told they had to make the quiche, so it would be about 25 mins before I got my order. I love fresh stuff, so I loved the idea of them making it at that very moment. I got it and it was piping hot and fully loaded with crab worth every dollar. I been thinking about it constantly since that day. The scone basket on the other hand I got two different kinds. We sat on the outdoor patio which was very cute and comfortable. Complete with white benches adorned by floral pillows and garden accessories. Laura and her serving team were attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed. The scone basket is served with a strawberry compote and delicious clotted cream. OMG, the Bourbon Battered French Toast is covered by smokey bacon, fresh fruit, cooked apples and a yummy vanilla sauce. I came to Little Hen in Weston with my family to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday, and it was extremely disappointing. The worst part was finding a roach crawling under our table. I had to kill it myself while we were eating. That's completely unacceptable for any restaurant. To make matters worse, the restaurant was uncomfortably hot, and I asked for crispy bacon but was served burnt bacon instead. Management needs to take cleanliness and food quality seriously. The Belgian waffle was super fluffy and airy and it's topped with the most perfectly seasoned chicken strips. The breading was on the thicker side, but I loved it nonetheless. My friend got the bourbon batter French toast, which was the star of the show!! The vanilla sauce alone was a game-changer. The bread was nice and thick, yet so soft! I have never had anything close to a bad experience at the Little Hen until this morning. I always recommend this restaurant, as well as my favorite server Carlos. Today was definitely the exception to the rule. I wound up being stuck with a waitress who definitely needs an education in how to treat a customer. Carlos was not there today, and the on duty manager needs to speak with the patrons as to find out if there are any problems. The manager was too busy putting service setups on the tables and not appearing to be concerned about the customers. I observed her talking to staff and not visiting any of the tables. The menu says that the eggs can be cooked any style. I found this not to be true when I asked for eggs basted well and the waitress had no clue what I was asking for. Basted eggs are sunny side up eggs that you place a cover over to make sure that the entire egg or eggs are cooked properly. In my case, the whites of the eggs (the chalaza) were undercooked. I sent the eggs back. The bacon had such a heavy smoked taste that I couldn't eat it. The waitress brought me strawberry jelly. I explained that I was allergic to strawberries. In stead of offering me another flavor of jelly, she took it away and was never to be seen again. I had to ask another server to find her. This was a very bad experience at the Little Hen and one I never would have expected. read more

We were supposed to go in and have breakfast here, but for some reason, the timings didn't work and I had to take a takeout. I could say that this is in one of the nicest neighborhoods around Western area and the place looks absolutely stunning. I'm sorry I couldn't get pictures there because it was too crowded and I had to pick up my food outside and leave early there is definitely an issue with the parking so make sure you go ahead of time to find a spot. Let's come to the food. The buttermilk pancakes were extremely hard. It was warm when we got home, which is OK, but it was not fluffy. It was solid. It was hard. I could literally. I literally had to consider it as tortilla although the taste of the banana frosting was fabulous. I was not satisfied with the pancakes. They didn't even give us maple syrup. The egg white frittata was good, but unfortunately, they did not even add the toast which was supposed to come with it. Although I wanted to have an extra toast and I asked them outside, they went inside, spoke to the manager and they came back saying that I have to actually buy a basket of bread which was costing me around 7 to 8 dollars. That's not how much I want it so obviously I did not take it and I was thinking that the toes that we had which was supposed to come with the egg white frittata is already in there and I could survive with that but guess what? Surprisingly there wasn't so there's an entire missing part of the bread the pancakes were not up to the standard. It is such a cute restaurant but it can get very busy! I do not recommend going without a reservation. You can make reservations on Resy, they don't take reservations over the phone. Parking is plenty it is in a plaza with some other stores. The food is great as well as their tea selection. I have been for both their afternoon tea service and a la carte options. Most recently I tried chilaquiles; they were very tasty and I added churrasco for $8. The churrasco was delicious but they give you such a small portion, I don't think it's worth adding any meat on it. Reservations also have time limits. Small parties I believe it's 1 and a half hours, larger parties 2 hours. read more

I know it's strange but I would give three stars and recommend this place. First the ambience . It's cute it's quirky it's everything you would want it to be warm and welcoming. But not so much. I did not feel welcome here and felt very isolated out on the patio. I was ignored for the first multiple minutes that I was here I didn't really count but it felt like about 10. I then ordered and expected my items to come out together but they came out piecemeal. My tea came out and cold before the scones came out. I also placed an additional order after the original order and really expected that to come out with the food or later because it was bacon... it was out within a minute. After setting and watching my baking cool and my tea cool I stood up to look for something and I guess they saw me move and came out and asked me if I needed something and I said I was wondering if you had gotten my order for the scones? At which point they went back inside and then 5 to 7 minutes later the scones came out... so did they forget them or do they take that long to prep... I may never know. Now onto the food. The bacon which was unceremoniously placed in front of me was floppy and greasy and never once was I asked if that was OK or if I needed them to warm anything up because of that so long waiting for the scones. That being said the taste is suburb the scones are amazing the bacon is amazing even floppy and greasy. So there is no complaint about the taste. The music may not be for everybody's taste but I like it it's a little quirky and upbeat think of postmodern jukebox. I will probably come back here again but when I come back again I will actually order and tell them I do not want my items separately I would prefer that they come all at the same time. Added after I ate...they sat a table inside right by my window...so I watched and compared...my service is either a one off...or they are intentionally being rude to me? Hmmm...the second option makes zero sense. I was polite, I followed procedure, she sat me where I am sitting, I said please, thank you, you are welcome, and excuse me. Maybe this is not the place for people like me? Whatever that is...this world has gone insane. I did tell her when she came back to wrap up that this was one of the worst experiences of my life and listed all the above reasons. I did get a "I am sorry" but thats it. The manager cane over to hear my story and offer me food, I just want to leave. She was kind enough to take the tea off of my bill. I explained to het that the food was indeed very good...the service and pace however mean I will not come here again. My time, money, and peace of mind are more important than their livelihood. Today I finally took a chance and entered this large classy English cafe. Met with the hostess who provided me with a menu and decided on an espresso. Well, they served me an English style light blue and white porcelain cup on a saucer with a tiny spoon and a few organic sugars for $3.50. Extremely nice presentation, but it was the smallest serving of coffee since I tried it raw without milk to get a realistic Italian coffee tasting - I actually chuckled when I first saw it. My new FAVORITE breakfast spot! I was absolutely blown away by this cute little restaurant in Weston - from the decor, to the service, to the drinks, to the food - everything was TOP NOTCH! 5 stars - highly recommend! The restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous - I loved all the floral touches throughout the restaurant and how the entire restaurant had such an open, bright, airy, and feminine vibe to it. We were seated at a gold table for two with soft pink velvet chairs that were so comfortable and again if just added to the pretty atmosphere of the entire place. Their drink menu is so unique - from their variety of hot teas served in pretty tea cups and saucers, floral tea lattes, to brunch and cocktail drinks it was hard to choose what to get. Since I'm not drinking right now I ended up getting the lavender tea latte while my companion got the Santana hibiscus tea and both drinks were absolutely delicious. I love a cup of hot tea and sadly not many restaurants nowadays serve tea on their menu - with the exception of black tea or green tea - so it was great to find a restaurant that not only served coffee but a variety of hot teas as well. For breakfast it was also hard to choose what to get since everything on the menu looked so good, but I absolutely had to try the banana fosters pancakes since banana fosters is one of my favorite dishes. I'm not exaggerating when I say these pancakes were the BEST PANCAKES I've ever had in my life - they were absolute perfection there's no other way to describe them. They were just the perfect amount of sweet (without being overly sweet) and so light and fluffy and just tasted absolutely amazing. It's hard to describe the taste of a perfect pancake but these were it for me that's all I can say. BEST PANCAKES EVER! The other dish we ordered for breakfast was the braised short rib egg Benedict and it was also one of the best dishes I've ever had - it was perfectly made and tasted absolutely amazing. Highly recommend! Service was also fantastic throughout our entire meal. Our server came regularly to check on us, didn't rush us to put our order in or finish our meal, and let us enjoy our meal at our own pace which was nice. The restaurant itself was super busy and I highly recommend making a reservation if you're going on the weekend since the restaurant was absolutely packed (and had a wait outside the door). Overall - one of my new favorite restaurants I highly recommend trying - you will not be disappointed! read more
