We arrived just as the restaurant was opening and were surprised to see how busy it already was at 7:00 a.m.! The café had a charming, distinctly French atmosphere, reminiscent of cafés we've visited in France, right down to hearing patrons chatting in French. It certainly added to the ambiance! Since we arrived early, we were seated immediately at a cute window table, perfect for watching the city come to life. Over the next few days, we walked past several times and noticed people lining up for tables, so we were especially glad we had beaten the crowds. The service was excellent from start to finish. Our waiter was attentive and efficient, bringing water promptly, taking our order quickly, and delivering our food in what felt like no time at all. We ordered lattes, French toast, and a Croque Madame. The French toast came topped with fresh blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, and banana slices. While it was a satisfying breakfast, the dish itself was fairly ordinary. I would have preferred brioche-style French toast for a richer texture, and the maple syrup was already poured over the top. Having it served on the side would have been a nice touch, allowing guests to control the amount. I also wasn't entirely sure the syrup was pure maple syrup. The Croque Madame was enjoyable as well, though neither dish was particularly memorable. Overall, Café Bonjour is a great spot for its convenient location, charming French café atmosphere, and friendly, efficient service. While the food was good enough for breakfast, it wasn't necessarily the highlight of our visit. I would come back again to try their pastries, or crêpes. I'd recommend arriving early to avoid the lines and enjoy a relaxed start to your day exploring Boston!

I got 99 problems, but brunch ain't one …read more.... I had just finished a long-awaited day in family court, and my best friend Robin came with me for support. Afterward, she treated me to brunch at North Street Grille, and honestly, it was exactly what I needed. When we arrived, there was a line and we were told the wait could be around 45 minutes. Don't let that scare you off. We put our name down, walked around the neighborhood, took some cute pictures of each other and passed the time until Robin received a text letting us know our table was coming up. I'd say we actually waited closer to 20-30 minutes max. As someone who deals with anxiety, I'll admit that when I first saw how busy it was, I was a little nervous about going inside. But once we got settled, that feeling went away. The atmosphere was welcoming, lively and easygoing. There was plenty of conversation and background noise, but funny enough, that was exactly the kind of noise I needed that day. I didn't feel like all eyes were on me. I could just sit down, decompress, enjoy my food and enjoy being with my best friend. And once you're inside, I can completely understand the wait. It's a smaller spot, people are eating, drinking, talking and genuinely enjoying themselves. It doesn't feel like somewhere you want to rush out of and with the food being as good as it was, I understand the line too. Now let's get to the food. That complimentary banana bread? Don't sleep on it. I really enjoyed it. We also had mimosas, which were good and definitely fit the occasion. I ordered the Steak Bomb Omelet with steak, peppers and cheese, along with home fries and toast. Robin had the salmon omelet, and of course I had to taste hers too--it was good! Our waiter was attentive and really nice throughout the meal, which made the experience even better. And speaking of Robin what are the chances I'm sitting there with my best friend Robin, open the menu and see a Robin Special? Shoutout to all the Robins! There were so many other things on the menu that caught my eye that I already know one visit isn't enough. And apparently the restaurant knew when it was time for me to go, because right on cue, I dropped my mimosa glass. I was immediately embarrassed, but shoutout to our waiter because he didn't make a big deal out of it or make me feel uncomfortable. And remember all that background noise I mentioned? For once, I was grateful for it because hardly anybody even noticed. Between coming straight from family court, having my best friend there, the food, the atmosphere and even my little mimosa-glass finale, this brunch ended up being exactly what I needed. Would I come back? Definitely. Next time I'm trying something completely different from the menu, with them delicious-ass banana bread bites.

The display of baked goods, the cozy lounge seating, the dim lights, the delicious coffee, it was a dream coffee shop. I came here twice during my trip to Boston. The coffee is divine, it's real freaking coffee done right and not to sound like a coffee snob, but I know good coffee. I grabbed a cup and a spot along the window and did some serious people watching. People were here alone, doing work on their laptops, meeting with friends, it a spot for everyone. The place is very cool inside with interesting decor to look at. One of the reason I picked this restaurant is that they have gluten free options. It was great to be able to have a regular breakfast like anyone else. I had pancakes with potatoes, eggs and sausage. The sausage was pretty nice. The rest of my group liked their food too and the ambiance. Good spot but if you can, get a reservation!

The corned beef tasted like it had been boiled in water with maybe a little salt and pepper. There just wasn't much flavor, and it definitely wasn't what I was expecting. They also had a mimosa special and a specialty drink flight, including a seasonal flight. One of the drinks in the flight contained milk, and I explained to the bartender that I couldn't drink milk. I asked if I could substitute another drink or even get a double of one of the other drinks in the flight. Unfortunately, the bartender refused to accommodate either request. I found that disappointing, especially since the drink I couldn't consume would essentially go to waste anyway. A heads-up about the waitlist: You can join online or in person, but be mindful that if you join online and receive a notification that your table is ready, you need to be there promptly. Our notification said the table was ready, but by the time we arrived, the restaurant was showing as closed and wasn't accepting any more walk-up waitlist reservations. That was a little confusing and frustrating. The atmosphere is eclectic, fun, and visually appealing, so I can see why people are drawn to the place. However, between the food, drinks, and service experience, I honestly felt it was a bit overhyped. Maybe I caught them on an off day, but based on my experience, the food and drinks just didn't live up to the expectations. Unfortunately, I left underwhelmed.

Not bad by any means, but nothing particularly special compared to what I was expecting. The French toast, however, was amazing! We also tried the burrata caprese toast, which was actually suggested by our server, and it ended up being such a pleasant surprise! It was absolutely delicious and easily my favorite dish of the entire meal. I probably wouldn't have thought to order it myself, so I'm really glad our server recommended it! Overall, the food was good, with a few dishes that really stood out. While the pancakes didn't quite live up to the hype for me, the French toast and especially the burrata caprese toast more than made up for it. I'd definitely come back and explore more of their menu. If you're visiting, don't overlook the savory options!

My daughter loves pop tarts so when she saw it in the case, she got a blueberry pop tart and said it was very flakey and the jam was very jamful. It was the-last-one, even had the sign stuck in it!!
