So, I love JCW's and they are usually really busy but they really work fast considering how busy they always are. However, this location is really upsetting. I've been so many times considering I live closest to this location and they are unkind to their customers, they take painstakingly long with any order and if you go through the drive thru make sure you have 30 minutes to wait even if there is one person in front of you in line. I honestly feel like the employees consistently forget they have a drive thru. Consistently bad experience. read more

I placed an order online tonight at 6:22 for curb side pickup. The instructions told me it would be ready at 6:52. I showed up a few minutes early as I do for most food pickup because I want my food hot, don't want it sitting under a food lamp too long, and I'm ok waiting a few minutes if it's not ready. I arrived at 6:46, called and was told it would "be right out". After sitting there for 10 minutes I debated what to do. Do I continue to wait or call because maybe they're busy and forgot? How long is "be right out? After a lengthy debate with myself because I don't want to be a pest I decided to call and just check. I was informed they were just finishing up. Ok, not an issue, they hadn't forgotten, they just didn't really give me a good sense for how long on my first call right? so I wait and I wait and I wait.... After sitting in the parking lot for 30 minutes and 55 minutes after my order was originally placed, they brought it out.... COLD!!!! Not only was it cold but the cheese fries were burnt, there was no fry sauce (I ordered 4), and no napkins. I could go on but I'll just say it was bad. I ended up calling my husband to turn on the oven so we could reheat it when I got it home. I used to LOVE this place but their service has gone down hill and now even the food is lacking. HORRIBLE! I paid over 25 dollars for a halibut fish sandwich, a kids meal, and 2 mini shakes. The "halibut" was not halibut, and soggy. They claim everything is made to order but it clearly wasn't. I'm just sad i went so long without ever trying this place. Like what!? They have AMAZING burgers and a humungous selection to choose from. The huge selection can be a bit daunting for a first timer, so I recommend the Bacon Blue Cheese burger or the avocado and Swiss burger. I also enjoy the turkey avocado and Swiss sandwich, and their fries are great too :) they also have wonderful shakes! Following my previous review of JCW's, my family and I returned for an early dinner. The time was approximately 430p on a Friday. The store had some business, and was staffed for their dinner rush. The ordering was fine, but that was where anything good stopped. Our food took a total of 23 minutes to arrive. (No kidding!). My burger was so overcooked that it was charred, dry and almost worthless to eat. The onion rings I received were overcooked and saturated in grease. My wife ordered the chili cheese fries which came to the table also overcooked with the cheese not just browned, but burned, the chili so dried up by the heat from the salamander that it was almost inedible. As this was her main meal, she barely ate a quarter of the dish. My daughter ordered the Bacon Bleau Cheese Burger which was also overcooked, and which she only ate half. Of the three meals, not one of us was able to finish their portions due to everything being overcooked. We paid $31 for the meal, and we all left the restaurant feeling hungry. I don't know what happened at this JCW's location--manager change, ownership change, whatever--but I am done eating there. It used to be great. It no longer is, and I will no longer waste my money going to a restaurant that doesn't care about food quality, service or customer satisfaction. Stopped in on my annual visit to the Provo area after several people repeatedly recommended that I try this place out. I barely stopped to take a breath while consuming my tasty pastrami cheeseburger. Our group ordered both french fries and onion rings. Next time I will definitely go with the onion rings - crispy, crunchy on the outside and tender onion on the inside. The fries were good. Not awesome, but not bad. Just good. And, although my meal was great, my taste buds most enjoyed the peach cobbler shake - a delightful conclusion to a fine meal. read more

I had a former coworker that always talked up this place. However, I never got around to trying it until they opened this Provo location. I have now been there a couple times and feel like I can review it. Like most of the reviews have mentioned, the quality of the food is great. They definitely care about using quality ingredients. The bread they use for their buns is not just some cheap crap. You can tell all the veggies are fresh, and the fries are just awesome. The Bacon, Avocado and Swiss burger is to die for. I just finished lunch, and even mentioning that is making my mouth water. It seems like a kind of "upscale" version of Apollo Burgers. Both times I've gone through the drive-through and had to wait a little while. But, it is definitely worth it! read more

I'm all about JCW's. I come here about once a week to get my burger craving in and it's always what I'm looking for. This place uses very high quality ingredients and meat. This doesn't taste like a fast food burger joint, it tastes like a restaurant burger. JCW's by far has the BEST lettuce burger in Utah County. It's not just the burgers that are good but the other options are great! Wings, fries, SALADS (yes, amazing salads), shakes, etc. Although it can be pricey, it's well worth it with the quality of food you're getting. read more

I love me some JCW's. Quality burgers, great fries, and just a great menu overall. I think I have tried nearly everything on the menu here. Most of the burgers and sandwiches, most of the shakes, and the wings (which I actually recommend). The staff don't always know what they are doing. This is typical of a college town restaurant with a high turnover rate of staff, and that is fine. Just be patient with them, and make sure they repeat your order back to you to ensure that it is correct. This place gets really busy on the lunch hour, and for good reason. The burgers are great. From the patty and bun, to the bacon and cheese and everything else in-between that is layered on the burger. The fries are never soggy, and to my surprise are almost always cooked to perfection. I have rarely, if ever had a bad experience at JCW's. The shakes are huge, even the mini so make sure you come hungry. Big clean restrooms, friendly staff, great food, and great shakes all make for a classic quality burger joint. I find myself splitting my time between the classic burgers supreme and JCW's quite often. They almost taste nearly the same, so you can't go wrong with either place. I tried JCW a couple months ago. The burger was good and reminded me a lot of Wendy's. and there was a HUGE selection of items and milkshakes available. I think I had a caramel shake that was pretty good. I've never seen so many options on a fast food drive through menu, WHOA! The downside was the price, it was pretty overpriced which makes me not want to go back. I can get similar quality for cheaper elsewhere. They serve gourmet burgers, flame broiled with a number of great recipes. **The few things that set this burger restaurant apart from the rest is their fries and shakes. **French fries are big and tasty! The fry sauce is perfect. **This place can make a great shake! I usually like my shakes less thick so I can drink them through a straw, but I make exceptions here. Try the Chocolate Almond or the Oreo...both great! Their small shake is comparable to a LARGE in most other joints. **Plan on spending about $8 or $9 on your burger, fries, and shake. read more

I have been to JCW in American Fork many, many times. This location, however, was such a disappointment! My family and I were approached by a young solicitor in the parking lot selling cheap posters and asking for money. After ordering and receiving our burnt cheese fries, this same young man approached us at our table asking for money. When I asked the employee why pandering was occurring within the restaurant he only shrugged and walked away. This kid continued to go from table to table. Wow, what a disappointment! I was visiting in town from my home in North Carolina and had to try their milk shakes. I'd heard about them from all their advertising with BYU sports. I thought the prices were a bit steep, but what the heck. I ordered a raspberry cheesecake shake. I didn't taste either the raspberry nor the cheesecake at first. After a few bites, I got a couple of raspberry seeds, but still no flavor. I was half finished before I really tasted raspberries. About that time I felt a different texture that I knew had to be bits of cheesecake, but still no cheesecake flavor. Then I realized it wasn't cheesecake at all, but chunks of sweetened cream cheese! JCWs is trying to kill us. May I enter into evidence the Hickory Bacon Burger: flame broiled beef, a heaping pile bacon, sauces. Exhibit #2 is the club sandwich with enough ham and turkey to feed a family of 3. An order of fries is so big I always think: I can barely eat half that, but with some ultimate fry sauce I ultimately eat them all. At least I can resist the fries covered in cheese. Oh, and the most egregious attempt on us: shakes. They are huge, and refuse to skimp on the good stuff. How could a person think we could eat all that?! I saw they had a different bacon burger (and none of the hot options of the other place), so I went with that, a hickory burger, I think. Another $1 for mushrooms and we were off and running...flat into a wall. Well, maybe not that bad. The heel of the bun was stale, actual burger was better this time, but again, I wound up getting a salad burger, which resulted in my wrapper being nearly full of lettuce by the time I got to the end. I am pleased the burger was not as dried out as last time, but could have lived without the BBQ sauce, though, admittedly, it was not bad. I just don't typically like BBQ sauce on burgers (or on too much else). Fries were the same story as the other place. Bacon was better this time, but the mushrooms could not have been any more of a misfire, both tasteless and very low in quantity, so I guess the extra buck wound up being a tip for the staff. Coke Zero mix was also better here. Overall, this seems like a much more well-maintained and possibly newer (menu sign looked brand new) version of Lehi. Staff was very friendly throughout and actually seemed interested in the experience of their various guests. For a burger place, it was amusing to note that the options there constituted about 25% of the available menu with literally anything else BUT a burger rounding out the rest. It was perfectly serviceable for how I used it today, but this is in no way a destination place for me, even if I was craving a burger...decent but not outstanding. read more

I used to go to JCW's all the time but until last night it had been at least a year since I was there. My boyfriend and I got the Bacon Blue (my favorite) and the Avocado Swiss to split. The burgers taste like they're home grilled! I felt like I was at a bbq! The bun is important to me and although theirs are not my favorite, they're not airy and cheap so your burger doesn't get soggy and they're not so dense that it takes away from the rest of the burger. I did not remember this place being so good! I feel like the patties are bigger than they used be. My boyfriend got a cheesecake shake and I'm not that into cheesecake or shakes but I had a taste and it was so creamy and delicious! I was way surprised. Best ice cream I've had in a while. If you go to this location, just know there's always an overwhelming amount of BYU students on dates. Also, yay for hand wipes by the sauces!! I wish every burger joint offered some. read more

I felt like JCW's has a lot of hype surrounding it, and while it is a decent place to eat it is not a blow you out of the water kind of experience. First things first, a friend and I went in to eat and there was one person taking orders and a line out the door. Now I can understand if that happens for a minute while the other cashier is busy helping the kitchen with something, but no one came for relief. I ordered the fish and chips, and my buddy orders a swiss melt. We went to sit down, and the wrong order was brought out to us. Chicken tenders and another type of melt. Needless to say we ate some of it before we realized, I then approached the counter and asked for our order to be remade. Up to this point that service had been kind of poor, and I noticed a lot of dirty tables and dirty floor space. The young man who helped me out was kind and courteous, and he brought the correct order out a few minutes later. It was well prepared, though the fish is pretty heavily battered I feel, and we enjoyed it. It ended up taking close to 1/2 hour or so to get our right order to us, but the food was pretty good when it got to us. The bummer was that we both had to travel to work and so we didn't have time to finish our meals because of the long wait on food. I may come back another time, and give it one more try. read more

The food was good, but service is terrible! Waited for over 15 minutes when there was only 1 person ahead of me in the drive-thru. I ordered for 4 people, and I was the only one in the car, so they gave me a drink holder. The lids to all the drinks were covered with soda, so I had to hold them up to keep them from getting all over the car. I didnt know that wouldnt matter though, because one of the drinks had a hole in the bottom of it! I live about 12 minutes away, and by the time I got home, a little less than half the soda had seeped into the passenger seat :( when I tried to pick up the drinks, the bottom of the cup holder fell off because it was so soggy, and I had to be quick to catch the drinks before they fell. Food is great BUT, their customer service and responsibility is lacking. Some weeks ago I bought a combo meal and then drove home to eat it. At home, I found they had forgotten to give me my fries, so I called them and told them. They said that I could either drive back (I live 5-15 min away depending on traffic) and get the fries or they could send me a gift card. So far, so good. I gave them my name and mailing address and two weeks later, nothing. So, I called them back, spoke to a different manager and they promised the same thing. This time, I asked them to call me when they sent out the gift card the following day. It's been 4 days or so. They haven't called and I haven't gotten a gift card. So, buyer beware. Their food is awesome. Probably my favorite burger in Utah (maybe tied with the Habit), but their customer service is lacking. read more

JCDUBBS is a fine eatery. The cashier was a dreamier version of Benedict Cumberbatch, the longer I looked at him the more I got lost in his eyes. He reminded me of my last heartbreak. As I ate the burger, my heart sank back into a deep stage of nostalgia. One second you're on top of the world the next you're deeper than the dumpster outside of JCW's where I cried my heart out. Driving around Provo looking for something tasty to eat, combined with my goal to eat at local places more, led me to stop at the new JCW's off University Parkway. I had heard it was good, and walked in thinking this was larger burger chain. It turns out that this is the third location, and so new that I had to create the business entry on Yelp. The atmosphere of this place feels like a home town version of In and Out or five guys. The walls are covered in local sports memorabilia from BYU, UVU, and the Jazz, as well as some old records and bland and white pictures of old Utah. ESPN plays on the TV, and oldies play on the radio. The sign on the door says that they are the burger boys, but the menu extends to shakes, sandwiches, gyros, and more. I went for a bacon and bleu burger combo, which brought me to about 8 dollars. Not cheap, but I threw some Bbq sauce on it (they have a condiment bar!) and enjoyed a quality American meal. The whole place was clean and the staff was friendly. They also have out door dining and a drive through, and orders get announced over a PA inside and out. I can see this franchise continuing to expand in the future, and it deserves to. Try it yourself today! read more

I love the veggie burger and fries here. If it weren't for how much I love it I would *never* give them my money based on the service. Every single time my husband and I go we're given a different way to order our food by the staff. If I order the garden burger and sub the cheese I'm "supposed to order the all American sub patty". If I order the the all American and sub the patty I'm told "its really easier if I order the garden Swiss and change the cheese". Either way the staff is aggressive, condescending and doesn't just take the stupid order. Today the guy spend ten minutes arguing with me. I almost walked out. Man. I love JCWs food... but their customer service is the WORST I have ever dealt with. Not just this location. JCWs in general either hires the wrong people, or does not know how to train their employees. I have never left a review anywhere before, but because of how many bad experiences the employees have given, it's time for me to speak up. it was a couple months ago, I ordered a chocolate Oreo shake. The boy on the drive, said that they didn't have chocolate ice cream and that they would have to use chocolate syrup, which I said was totally fine. Then, probably 10 minutes later, I finally get "my" shake... but there were no Oreos... and the chocolate syrup wasn't even mixed all the way. It was dripping all over the place and making a mess. I told the girl it wasn't what I ordered and she said she'd go back in and get me a new one. She came back out to tell me that I had not ordered the Oreos in it and that if i wanted it I would have to pay extra... WHAT?!? what kind of service is that? After waiting so long and getting a piece of crap shake? I told her that was ridiculous and just ended up throwing the expensive shake out when I got home. Ridiculous. I've worked fast food before. And if a customer has a problem, "the customer is always right". You want them to have a good experience so they come back right?!? Teach that to your employees! I can't tell you how many things have happened that I've been so surprised about with your employees. So rude and careless. I once asked a guy for the wifi password and said he didn't know it and walked off.... so I had to get up and ask someone else. like come on... If I could rate 0 stars I would. Step it up.
