I get the All-American burger combo with their yummy fries (and sauce!) and a fresh lemonade. Seasonless, timeless, and yes, also money-less because these burgers don't come cheap. But at least they're delicious. Oh, and yes, you'll wait forever for your food. These - and other- sacrifices must be made for good fast (but not really fast) food. It's a no from me. As a non-Utah native there was so much hype for this place I had to try it. Well after upgrading two burgers to a combo meal we paid over $40?! Wayyy too expensive for the subpar quality. You're better off hitting up Culver's. My husband ordered onion rings instead of fries. The workers didn't say anything about not having them when we ordered, but when we got to the window we saw a sign that basically said due to shortages they were substituting a few things for fries, including the onion rings. The sign looked old and ratty so I assumed it was out of date since they didn't say anything when my husband ordered them. Nope! Once we got home we found no onion rings. It's not that hard to say, "I'm sorry we are out, is there anything else you would like instead?" Huge fail for customer service. The food also took forever, which is fine when it's fast casual rather than true fast food, which I think is what they are trying to be? But the food tastes worse than McDonald's. WARNING! The Provo location is not nearly as good as the one in American Fork. If you want a good JCW's experience, head up north 25 min. It's a far superior experience. In Provo the food takes longer to come, (ours came cold with soggy fries), our order was wrong, and the staff is NOT friendly. Gets two stars because the milkshake and onion rings were pretty decent. Other than that, everything was really disappointing, especially for the price. The burgers had overcooked patties that I basically could make on my grill at home, and the toppings did nothing to add to the experience (and detracted from it in the case of the blue cheese burger). The buns are flavorless and so are the sauces on the blue cheese and mushroom Swiss burgers. The cheese fries are super soggy and gross. And all this for $40!! I could go to a much nicer place for less and get way better food. Also, the employees look miserable; I probably would be too if I had to deal with such overhyped mediocre food. Terrible. Me and my boyfriend ordered a shake when I got them they were halfway melted. Our bacon cheeseburgers were mushed and pretty much burnt. Cheese fries were terrible, everything just awful for the price that I paid. The employees looked miserable and I felt bad and tried to be super nice the person that took our order seemed irritated with me and the other one that handed me the food just basically shoved it in my face and closed the window never said anything! I'm done going to JCW's. Last 2 times I've went they missed at least one item and this time was the kicker.. ordered "fish" & chips and I've never seen any kind of fish like this. I have no idea what kind of fish they use (definitely not anything nice and flaky), but it looks like a chicken nugget from McDonalds. Expensive and disgusting...not how I want to spend my money these days. Way WAY over priced for whatever this was.. minced fish maybe?! Or a couple years old? I don't know!?! It's a mystery. Also the fries, which I've enjoyed in the past, were really greasy and not hot. Burger was ok but the tomato and lettuce had gotten soggy b/c we were waiting on the "fish" so long. They said they dropped a piece on the floor and had to fry some new "fish", so we had to wait around back and I guess my burger had been made and was waiting in the bag too. We are regulars at JCW's! Not ashamed to admit that my husband and I come through the drive through weekly for their milkshakes. They are so creamy and delicious and ginormous. We consider ourselves good friends with Trevor at the window. Sometimes there's a bit of wait but we don't mind because it's always worth it. We stopped to get something to eat at the JCW in Provo. We have been to the JCWs in Lehi and American Fork and have had no problems with their food. The last two times we have been to JCW in Provo have not been good. The fries were like they had been sitting for awhile. The fish and chicken tenders was dry and overcooked. I was told it was kid friendly, somewhere where my family and I can feel comfortable. To be honest, I was not that comfortable because this young lady was not dress code appropriate and I dont think it's professional to be dressed like this knowing kids come here. She was also the only one dressed like this. As a business owner, I'm sure we are all well aware that our employees represent us. The quality of the ice cream and shakes has really gone down hill. It used to be creamy and smooth, but now it's mostly made up of ice crystals. The toppings or mix-ins for the shakes are also really skimpy now. I ordered a shake with peanut butter and Reese's cups. In the past my shake tasted like peanut butter and I had big chunks of Reese's cups in my shake. Now my shake still mostly tasted like vanilla and there were tiny little specks of chocolate that I'm assuming were supposed to be the Reese's cups. It was pitiful and I was very disappointed with how it tasted. It JCW's is serving lower quality ice cream and shakes they should at least reduce the price UPDATE 1/31/20: I gave JCW's another shot. I ordered another shake with peanut butter and Reese's cups. This time I asked for extra peanut butter and extra Reese's cups. Well, I was shocked to see that when my shake was ready (which took 40 minutes) there was no Reese's cups in it at all and barely any peanut butter. JCW is a high quality burger joint! We had a large group join us here and there was plenty of seating for our family of 16. The burgers are juicy and made to order. Get the bacon ranch burger---yum! The shakes are served in a large cup and very tasty! We enjoyed the fish n chips basket and the chef salad. They have fun paraphernalia hanging on the walls and lots of BYU items too. TVs are playing the current sports games, so sit where u can watch all the action. Self serve soda machine and all you eat dipping sauces. Tips and tricks.... Usually JCW's is a good place to get a burger, fries, and shake, but after tonight, I'm not sure we'll be going back. My wife ordered a Bacon Swiss Avocado burger (extra for avocado), and I got a Mushroom Swiss burger. When we got home to eat, my wife handed me what ended up being her burger, after she thought she saw mushrooms on it. After further inspection we realized it was in fact her burger and that the avocado was so old and black that it looked like mushrooms. Avocado isn't supposed to be black. It's an American burger palace where your appetite reigns supreme. They do burgers and shakes and fries and this weird thing called "Salad." If I wanted to impress Doc with a cholesterol level of over 900, this place would be my go-to. The place does not disappoint with quantity. And at the same time, quality is not compromised. Who woulda thunk it? I love to surpass the shakes and go for a small - "small" - ice cream cone. And if you think the small cones are too big, you'd get a heart attack by just looking at the large milkshakes. They are most definitely meant to be shared. But to share a milkshake? Who woulda thunk it? Burgers! So good. Bacon! So good. Lettuce! ... so fresh? Guacamole! So messy. (and good.) Ranch burger! So good. It's comfort food that makes you uncomfortable from stuffing your face too full. The chicken fingers! Pretty satisfying and big. I only need two of 'em with fries to be full, or just three of them alone. Well, either I'm too full or my tastebuds are too saturated from the saucy McFrySauce. Who woulda thunk it? The milkshakes can be okay. If the location is too busy, and most of the time they are, the milkshakes will be ... not exactly runny but almost fluffy? The same thing happens to the ice cream cones when too many people order milkshakes at the same time and the soft serve machine is being overworked. I've been coming here for several years. It is one of my go to places. I LOVE their burgers. They have that "it was made on the grill in the backyard" type taste. Their shakes aren't anything special, but they are good and I enjoy them. Their fries are even less special but I still like them. One big plus about JCW's is that they are open until 11pm. The other burger places have lost a lot of business from me because I often want a burger/shake after a late night of studying but all the others close at 10pm. The one annoying thing about JCW's though, is their drive through. It takes forever when it's busy. I swear it took 20 minutes last night to get my food. I think they are so slow because, unlike everywhere else, JCW's doesn't seem to have people with large orders go and park off to the side if their order is going to take a long time to be made. Instead they just have all of the other cars sit and wait until the one car's order is done. I'm no longer going to go through the drive through when it is busy. TL;DR I waited total time of an hour in the drive thru for them to forget I even existed before somebody saw me by accident and finally brought me my food. Dear JCW's: I could give you a trophy. Don't get too excited yet; I'm not sure this is an award you actually want. What's the trophy for? Achieving the #1 spot on my list for the crappiest service I've ever received from a restaurant. It was about 9:30pm on a Thursday night. I was in line at a drive-thru at a different burger restaurant. Seeing that the line was taking a while to move, I decided to drive to JCW's and eat there instead. Quality food, and I didn't anticipate that the line would take as long as this line was taking. I drove to JCW's and arrived at the drive-thru. Lots of cars, but I was willing to wait the time necessary. I looked at my clock as soon as I pulled in: 9:42pm. It took about 10 minutes just to place my order at the speaker. I could see there were tons of people inside, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and decided to stick out the long wait. I ordered a Ranch Bacon burger and a side of cheese fries. Hearing that the girl taking my order kept repeating back to me "fries" without the word 'cheese' anywhere before or after, I confirmed with her two times that I had ordered cheese fries. After about 20 minutes I finally got to the window. The girl handed me the bag before she even told me my total. Then realizing the mistake she had made, she got flustered and tried to take the bag back. I asked her, "Are there cheese fries or regular fries in there?" She looked in the bag and told me they were regular fries. I told her that I had ordered cheese fries. She frantically looked for somebody to help her at the register because she didn't know if she should give me the regular fries and still make me the cheese fries. I could hear the entire conversation because she left the window open. She charged me for my burger and cheese fries and told me to wait in the drive-thru pickup area, where somebody would bring them out to me. I probably pulled into the spot at about 10:10pm. I waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. And w a i t e d Nothing. Literally nothing. I could see cars in the drive-thru behind me, so I knew they were helping other customers. At about 10:30pm, a guy noticed me in the spot and came out to my car, asking if I was waiting for food. I told him that I was waiting for cheese fries. The look of surprise and fear on his face informed me that nobody had even remembered my fries. He ran back inside and I waited another 10 MINUTES before an employee came out with my fries and a $10 gift card. I left the parking lot at 10:40pm. So what's the verdict? Well, for starters, I feel sick even looking at the gift card because there is nothing that anybody could say or do to get me to return to that JCW's again. I waited an HOUR in my car before I received everything I had ordered. The treatment I received made me feel like the management did not care about me or my business. I joke that maybe you should put wi-fi in your drive thru so I can do my homework while waiting in that horrendous line. So. You win, JCW's. As I sat and waited for my food I sat in full view of the kitchen. I watch staff in the kitchen eating, touching their own body, co-workers bodies, and then the food with the same pair of gloves! I watched the guy on the grill touching the burgers or meat on the spatula as he walked it across the kitchen every time he had it finished, he then touched things like his leg, put his hands on his hat, another co-worker, a work station on an opposite side of the kitchen as he stood and chatted with co-workers then without changing gloves he went in the back carrying out a bus pan. He then reach in the bus pan taking out meat patties, again touching them with his dirty gloves he has touched everything. My husbands burger was cold once it got to us, & I was unable to eat my food after watching the kitchen staff. It isn't a cheap place so I'm not every happy, but I would rather not get food borne illnesses from improperly trained staff. read more

Where to start... I picked a few things to try from the menu: chili cheese fries (someone said they're to die for) they certainly weren't , my teeth nearly died crunching on those hard a** fries. The chili on the fries was okay though. Next the mushroom burger, absolutely no flavor, I'm one for mushrooms but this burger was missing one thing and it was seasoning. Next one was the Hawaiian burger, I guess that one wasn't too bad but when I see Hawaiian burger I think teriyaki and pineapple,, I'm not sure if they skipped out on the teriyaki but that was missing. Next on the list is pastrami burger someone said they had enjoyed,, let's just say I wouldn't feed this to my dogs lol.. old dry deli meat. Let's move forward.. to the decent things,, the wings! Now I've had some nasty tiny crusty wings but these wings are actually worth it, I actually enjoyed these at least from all the food I've had from this place.
