I haven't been to Glade's since I was a kid and there's probably a good reason why. I stopped there with my boyfriend for a treat and it was quite the experience as an adult. I was able to park out front pretty easy but backing out onto the busy street was not my favorite thing to do in the dark. There is some parking past the light on the right, I wish I knew that beforehand. The little building is chock full of charm, definitely one of those hole in the wall places that has been around forever. That being said, I didn't find their menu easy to read. It was all over the place and when I looked it up online, it was better but still kind of hard. To order, one of the girls waves you over to one of two windows and takes your order, but doesn't have you pay immediately and when you do get to pay, you don't see the card being charged right in front of you, it's whisked away to the back. So you awkwardly wait around until she calls you over with a very polite "hey you". She will then give you your items one by one as they are ready. So while one person finishes their shake, the next one starts on theirs and if you order fries, it's going to take an extra 30 minutes of waiting out in whatever weather. But they do have white sauce, so that is a point in their favor! I was excited to have my guy try this place and he didn't think it was all that great and I had to agree with him. Our food was fine. First of all, I recommend some order in the restaurant. There are two windows when you go there you can assume that when it was for order and one was for Pick Up, however this is not the case both windows pretty much acted the same for order and for Pick Up second When taking an order there was no asking of a name or or issuance of a number. It was very confusing for when the girl called out whatever food is ready whose food it was I suggest issuing a number or labeling a customer with the order or something very unorganized.. I ordered some fish and chips and a burger for us. The fish and chips were decent. The fish tasted really good. The fries were really crispy. I'd give it a soft nine out of 10. The superburger, however, was pretty basic. It was the first and the last time I will ever order it the taste was OK but nothing special honestly if I could have, I would've not ordered it and gone to In-N-Out Burger down the street which is cheaper and way better for burgers I recommend the story removes their claim of best burger in town from the window. The two window girls are fine. They were nice to friendly. I just feel their lack experience with customer service and that's OK. I believe my biggest recommendation for this location is for some order. read more

Glade's Drive Inn tastes a helluva lot better than Glade's air fresheners. While I have been exploring good ol' Spanish Fork, there is something I have come to realize: There is the new Spanish Fork, and there is the old Spanish Fork. There is the area north of highway 6 with all kinds of brand new spots (mostly chains) and more businesses on the way. North of highway 6 is expanding like crazy and typically a busy area. Then there is the other side of highway 6. This is where the city has its charm and history. This is what I thought all of Spanish Fork was before exploring the area more. Glade's Drive Inn is within the charm of Spanish Fork. What started off as a little gas station transformed into a fun drive in burger spot back in 1954 and it has pretty much stayed the same ever since. Speaking from someone in real estate, I can confirm they haven't done much to the OG building, but I am glad they haven't. It really seems to look the exact same as it did back in the day. I was meeting friends here and we were both able to take the spots in the very front. There is only three of them so this was super lucky. I can imagine it gets super hard to find parking and whatnot in the busier summer months. With it being a small drive in, there is very limited parking and nowhere to really sit or anything. I think it would be nice to get a few tables outside or something, but I do get it...it's part of the drive inn vibe. It doesn't seem like they have changed their menu since opening either. It is a pretty dated menu and admittedly, it is a bit confusing. If you want it in a combo, then they just add the word "super". To me, "super" means bigger, not "plus fries and a drink". All of the burgers are made on a grilled bun with "Glade's toppings", which is their signature white sauce, ketchup, pickles, and lettuce. You know what I love about this? They don't have tomatoes! I think tomatoes on burgers are repugnant so I appreciate the alliance here. Honestly, it took a while to get our food. A while. They are not fast at all. I don't mean this against them at all. I don't work there and I don't know what kind of prep goes into making our food...but just be prepared, this is not an "In and Out". Once we got our food, we decided to go to a nearby park. All of our food came in styrofoam containers and they did give us our drinks ahead of time. They have pepsi products and all kinds of shakes. I thought about trying one of the shakes and I definitely want to go back to see what they're all about. The burger itself was delicious. I loved the toppings on it and it was cooked great. It was also just a really big burger--they don't skimp at Glade's. The fries were pretty good and they came with their "famous white sauce". My friends said they didn't know what the sauce specifically was but that it was delicious. I am not sure how much I agree. The sauce was very so-so. It definitely had mayo in it but I am not convinced it had anything else. I am not a mayo hater, but mayo is one of the most bland sauces out there. The white sauce on the burger was delicious, as it soaked in with the toppings to bring out flavor...but fries with plain mayo is a bit odd. This was also a really cheap option--it was only $30ish for the three of us. Between the price, and the fact that I am supporting a local, family business, I absolutely loved it. The staff was all really nice and it was a solid experience. I will be living in Lehi starting in the next few weeks but I would love to come back during the summer time! read more

So amazing I love their shakes and ice cream. Their other food is fine, but their shakes and ice cream is a step above anybody else's in town. Sadly, they don't get your food to you very fast and sometimes waiting outside can be a little tedious whether you're in the heat or the cold. And you can definitely tell that the tables outside haven't been cleaned in a minute, but other than that, it is a very good experience because of how great the food is. 30 minute wait for the daily fast food special, Service takes forever. I went on a Wednesday for their daily special, which was fish & chips. I was told it was a 15 minutes wait for fast food since it was fried food. When I showed up in 15 minutes to get it, I was told it would be an additional 10-15 minutes to get the fish n chips. So I had to abandon it since I couldn't wait anymore for "fast food". They gave me my already melted shake up front, so that was a disaster since it was nearly warm when I brought it home. Whats sad is I remember this place being awesome. I've been pretty consistently over years, and the service just keeps going downhill. There must be a new owner or management... the experience as a customer is terrible. My order has been wrong the past 3 times I've been here, and employees just stand in the back room eating and drinking. This is the only place I have to wait 35-40 minutes for a cheeseburger and fries. The gal at the service window had an extreme attitude. She did not know what a brown topper and looked at me like I was crazy when I ordered. It looked awful when I recieved it. Little throwback to my childhood where my young parents would take all of us kids for burgers, fries, onion rings, and drinks. This throwback is clearly a hometown tradition where crowds gather, the employees know the names of their customers, and people make call-in pickup orders for their weekend fun. This is the second time I've been here. Both experiences were similar. Today, I went to order 3 meals for my family. When they took my order, they didn't write anything down, which made me nervous. It was about 95 degrees outside, so I was super hot while waiting. They asked me 3 times what I was waiting for, so I repeated my order each time. Several people came and ordered after me (placing much larger orders) and they got their food before me. Overall, I waited for about 25-30 min. The ordering/payment process is very disorganized. I think they forgot/lost my order since it wasn't written down. In addition, they charged me $2 more than what they said my order total was. It seems like that happens a lot (after reading other reviews). I'm not sure if they're adding tips or what... but it's dishonest. The food was good, but definitely not worth the wait. read more

Fried cod fish seemed to be packaged frozen fish, already breaded with a crimping effect. (Looked like an oval fish stick). Much more breading than the sliver of fish that was inside. I upgraded the fries for onion rings ($1.49 extra) which also seemed like they were frozen. The same as the fish with more awful breading encasing a very thin sliver of onion. Luckily for the extra $1.49, I got small to medium 4 onion rings. What a deal. Unfortunately the best part of the meal was the toasted white bread. Decent. Was recommended here from a resident in the area. Pros: The shakes are to die for. Best shake that Utah has to offer. Price is very fair as well! Cons: Parking is garbage, its at the intersection of a busy street. I counted a total of 8 parking spots, so good luck. Half/half: Burgers are average. Nothing glamours, just a normal cheeseburger. I compare it to being somewhat like McDonald's. Not sure why everyone is saying the burgers are the best; they seemed basic to me. Fries are just fries.. seasoned. What else is there to say other than this place is the typical small town fast food place. Greasy fries and flavored shakes kind of typical. I haven't sampled much here besides the fries, regular hamburger and the polar pup (battered and deep fried hot dog.) Also have tried the milkshakes. Can't forget those. I tend to stick to these things because I know that it will neither kill me because of the grease nor will it a let down. So I guess these are my tried and trues here at Glades. Prices are average for a small town joint as well. Large fries are around $4 and the regular hamburger is around $2. The big seller here is their white sauce. A mix of mayo, sour cream and something else. They have daily specials out front and feature a different daily ice cream flavor. Parking is limited and during the busy hours you can park farther down the road. It is located off their busy main street and pretty much at the end of town. There is a park bench around the side you can sit at but you might have to fight for it if it's busy. Prepare to wait a little bit if you do hit rush hour. Nothing spectacular. Just your typical small town hamburger place. read more

As a local I have been going here for 20 years and anytime they messed up an order they would fix their mistake until last night when i went there. When I got there everyone was so busy I actually got overlooked and they started helping other customers before me. Didn't seem to be even a line. Both windows were taking orders. I asked for a simple cheeseburger kids meal. Then I waited for 15 minutes while everyone after me kept getting their food. Not sure what happened but they didn't even check up on me to let me know. For those familiar with Spanish Fork, and especially those who grew up there, Glade's represents so much more than just the fast food joint that it is today. Since long before my time it's been the spot for tasty and semi-quick burgers, foot longs, fries and white sauce (NOBODY does this like Glade's), seaburgers, fish-n-chips, shakes, and most other traditional fast food menu items. Mind you, I'm not much of a fast food fan. But, having the recent & rare occasion to be back in this part of Spanish Fork, I just couldn't help myself. It's far from healthy food, folks, but I can justify a visit once every five years. (And I do remember the incredible fries they made here before they transitioned to the crinkle fries of today. Not that there's anything wrong with that.) My double-meat-double-cheese tasted exactly the same, as well as the fries and white sauce. I was very happy to see that they've now added a Lime Squeeze and Lime Rickey to their drink menu. Yay! Sign me up! The nostalgia of this place is overwhelming, and fellow SF'ers will usually run into someone they know here, whether current or past residents. Parking is still limited at this little walk-up joint, and they still tap on the window and wave you up when your food is ready. Could anything be finer? I think not. The downside: inflation has certainly caught up with Glade's. I'm sure it's happened gradually, but my sporadic visits made it quite noticeable. Not that long ago, I remember getting my usual aforementioned order here, including a large drink, for well under $5. Now it's more like $8.50. Still worth it? OH MY HECK, YES. Hands down the best chicken fingers! The 4 piece is just the right size and price for two people. We always call ahead so that the chicken is ready to go as soon as we get there. Basket comes with fries and garlic toast. The ranch is also legit. I'm a ranch snob, so this is important. We've also gone a few times for ice cream. This is a solid place to get classic "drive-inn" food. The burger was cooked and prepared well, fries were delicious, onion rings were good but I bit strange the way they were cooked and the best were the chicken strips. Their chicken strips were PHENOMENAL! Some of the best I've ever had. FYI they give a container of mayo with your food...just mayo which is weird. I recently tried this place, and I have to say, the food was very very good. I got a cheeseburger and fries, and they tasted amazing! I'm not a huge fan of mayo, but they complemented the burger perfectly. I don't usually get my burgers with tomato or onion or anything, but as I was in a hurry I didn't request they leave anything off and all the flavors tied together wonderfully. That said, I do have a few minor issues. After I ordered I held out my card to pay, but the girl disappeared into the back of the store, and came back with an order. She asked me to step aside and said she'd cash me out in a minute. I was a bit off put by that. I've worked as a hostess and a waitress and while I fully understand that things get busy, I do find it a bit rude to cut someone off mid transaction-- especially because I didn't initially understand that she wasn't going to have me pay immediately, she just came back with food and asked me to move. She put out another two orders before she finally took my payment. I don't think it was about a slow card reader either; I paid with card and the whole transaction was very swift. I've never been somewhere where they cut me off to take care of other customers. Just left me with a bad taste in my mouth, unfortunately. My other complaint is far more minor. When I received my food, she just kind of handed it to me and disappeared again. When I got back to work, I realized they only put two little containers of mayonnaise in the bag to dip my fries in; no ketchup. I know this probably sounds super petty, but I'd never eaten there before, and I would've appreciated if she had just asked "need any ketchup?" I had no idea they only served fries with mayo, and I would've asked for ketchup as I'm not a big fan of that combo. Luckily the fries still tasted good dry! Ultimately I will be back as the food was very good, I just hope next time I come in I receive better service. read more
