Duck confit
Builtbyliffe L.

Yes. Fantastic dining experience!! A very clean and nice looking restaurant providing a short and tasteful menu. The staff is excellent, kind and upfront. The food was so delicious and they accomplished this by using high quality ingredients. I had the duck confit, it was very unique, I haven't had anything quite like it in the provo area before. I'll be visiting here again to try their ribeye or trout, haven't decided exactly what's next. I highly recommend this place. Do yourself a favor and give this establishment a try!!

Great atmosphere and service. Provo has needed this for a long time. The food was great with options of breakfast lunch and dinner.

Vibe is nailing it. So many drinks are just standard, so I hope that the creativity of this fun group catches fire and more restaurants and bars catch on that people want more from their drinks. You don't HAVE to have alcohol to make it fun and delicious. We have had a few conversations with the owners/mixologists and they are fantastic and fun. My first encounter was when they were catering drinks MJ's at an event and they were a hit!!

We had our IDs scanned and briefly used the restroom before heading to a table had to piss and wash our hands. A few minutes later, the staff abruptly told us we would not be served and had to leave without explanation. We sat there confused and were threatened with police involvement. Only after pressing for an answer were we told it was "suspicious" that we went straight to the restroom and were "touching our noses," implying drug use. It was 34 degrees outside we had just walked over, our noses were running, and one of us blew his nose. That was the entire "evidence." We were the only customers in the establishment, were polite, sober, and never given a chance to order food or drinks. Instead, we were followed, accused, and escorted out into the cold. Based on the way we were treated and consistent with other reviews about this place we feel we were racially discriminated. Both staff members involved were white; all three of us are Latin American U.S. citizens. For context, we are working professionals: I run a consulting agency, my friend manages business developers for a major company in Salt Lake City, and my brother-in-law is a registered nurse who supervises and trains other nurses. We came in to eat and talk, not to be accused of criminal behavior. Management should seriously review the conduct and judgment of the staff working that night. This experience was inappropriate, humiliating, and unacceptable.

However, I appreciate the uniqueness of the small businesses and the slower pace. Sure, I miss the occasional cocktail, but I also don't mind dry entertainment. Last night's adventure brought me to a live music event here at Velour. I did a little research ahead of time and learned that seating is extremely limited, as is the parking. So come early, in comfy shoes, and set your expectations accordingly. The ambience inside is sort of dark, moody and intimate. There's a dramatic feel to the place, without any (obvious) drama. Doors didn't open until 6:30, and there was a line along the sidewalk of folks waiting to get in. That added to the "big city" feel of the place, even for a not-so-big city. The acoustics were good, if not a tad loud. (Yup, I'm showing my age.) The lighting was colorful and energetic, not just a boring stagnant few slights. I would likely return to see a lively act that I'm really interested in-someone that I wouldn't mind standing in a crowd of people to watch.

Or maybe it's a cost-cutting thing because ever since the pandy, companies love shrinkflation and gouging. Whatever the reason, one of the more enticing things about them is gone...maybe just at this location because it's in a mall, and a dead mall at that, haven't really checked the rest. The normal overly sweet Wingers sauce is still there, but, happily, they are also playing with superhots and have a ghost pepper BBQ sauce that is quite lovely, if I do say so myself, and I do. I asked for the hottest Buffalo sauce they had and what they brought me had no real heat to speak of at all, so I might have gotten the wrong thing. Anyway, I do applaud them trying to play around with sauces (maybe they're trying to be like BWW, sans an eating challenge or like BWW if it was an actual casual restaurant instead of a shitty sports bar wannabe chain) and service was quite good. I might drift from chicken if I come to another of these and try a burger, as I think that sauce would pair quite nicely with one and I've never had a burger here. They do have Diet Mt. Dew and I do dig the popcorn thing, so a lot of good points in their favor, but overall, the strips were fine, if a bit on the mediocre side, as usual, with the saving grace of them formerly being endless now gone. So, I guess call this 3.5, but with not quite enough to get the push.
