    Polynesian Food!

Mahalo Leilani's! Had some cravings and heard there was some good Polynesian food in Utah so we looked around and found this delicious little shop and it didn't disappoint. The 3 lovely Polynesian women were so sweet. We tried the kalo with coconut milk, luau with corned beef, turkey tail, 'oka, sosisi sausage, and corned beef brisket! Oh and don't forget the pineapple pie...or two! Wish we were local, we'd be here often. Can't wait to return to Lindon and visit this fantastic spot! Mahalo ladies!

We were supposed to go to Mollys down the street but it was closed so I figured it was a good time to stop in since it's next door. All the tables were full so I took that as a good sign. Two of us got the daily special which was pork ribs that came with two sides and a drink. My coworker got his first and the very nice lady preparing our food just KEPT ON adding meat to the plate. Like so many ribs. I got rice and Mac salad with mine and I kinda wished I had gotten the noodles instead of the rice, they looked really good on my coworkers plate. It was pricey BUT I definitely only ate half my plate so it's basically two meals. Best Mac salad I've had, so creamy and peppery. And the ribs... you guys. Go on Thursday and get the daily special. They were crazy. Vibes were so good, the lady helping us was so nice. We have been weekly Mollys goers but I think this will be a frequent addition into our rotation. Everything looks very tasty, and I saw that Garlic Shrimp was the Friday special I did hear though that once they sell out they are out for the day. Obviously not an issue when we went a half hour after they opened - but the crowd was building the closer to noon we got.

The lady who I assume is the owner was extremely kind and gave us recommendations and samples and the food was fresh and delicious. I got the barbecue teriyaki chicken big plate which is the most popular along with the rainbow Hawaiian drink which is a mix of mango, coconut, and watermelon. The vibe of the restaurant was also very Hawaiian and nice. I would definitely go back and recommend this place.

The food is always delicious and super flavorful. If it's supposed to be crunchy? It's crunchy. Soft/fluffy? Soft and fluffy. Spicy? You get it. My most recent time I got the Bento Box with two pieces of Korean fried chicken, but I've had the the tuna poke bowl, the loco moco, the Pele Plate with kimchi fried rice and the spicy pork belly and all of them last me, like, 3 meals. The smoked meat kind of tasted like char sui to me. I'm glad they didn't pour more sauce on top of the meats (some places have done that which made the meats more sweet). Happy they were close to my house in Salt Lake City so I could try them. Nice fast communication. The T.I. brewing company had a taco truck on their website for today so I wanted to clarify that it would be this food truck and they got back to me right away when I sent a Facebook message. Made me feel like a valued customer. I would definitely go back.

Dining area here is pretty small, but the main dishes are pretty solid in comparison to the other places. They have recently added musubi to the menu, finally, which is great, except it comes in various forms of plastic and is cold, which is a lot less great and sometimes mushes it. This particular place has it in a baggie, which is fine and all well and good, but I generally wind up taking it out of the plastic and putting it on top of whatever I ordered, trying in vain to warm it up at least slightly. Again, this is to varying effect, but I'm glad they have the musubi at all. No furikake on it, but it does seem to have perhaps some sort of blackened seeds on it, sesame I'm assuming. Anyway, these are getting more or less down to ol' reliable and I have no qualms at all with that, as they never fail to wind up hitting the spot.

I got teriyaki chicken and shrimp tempura, and the person I went with got kalua pork and katsu chicken. The teriyaki chicken was really good, and I really liked that spicy Korean sauce they have. Everything else wasn't great. The shrimp tempura was plain and basic. The kalua pork seemed to have no flavor, and the katsu chicken could use more flavor as well. I got it with vegetables, and it had that kind of rubbery texture. I would return if it was a social kind of thing, but I wouldn't return on my own.

The service started slow because it was just the owner working but we waited. He was super nice but sweating, working alone and trying to do everything all at once. Recommend the Keiki bowl for adults and kids, ANY of the Hawaiian sodas and pretty much all the meats we had. I DO NOT recommend the crazy sweet Hawaiian Lemonade - especially for $4 - go with the can for $2.50. Also, they were out of their only dessert (malasadas).... bummed my 7 yr. old. As I was leaving, karaoke came out, the doors were propped open and whole mood of the place changed. Family still has a sour note but I'd go again.
