My coworkers and I stopped in a little before noon on a Thursday because my friend had highly recommended it. We were supposed to go to Mollys down the street but it was closed so I figured it was a good time to stop in since it's next door. All the tables were full so I took that as a good sign. Two of us got the daily special which was pork ribs that came with two sides and a drink. My coworker got his first and the very nice lady preparing our food just KEPT ON adding meat to the plate. Like so many ribs. I got rice and Mac salad with mine and I kinda wished I had gotten the noodles instead of the rice, they looked really good on my coworkers plate. It was pricey BUT I definitely only ate half my plate so it's basically two meals. Best Mac salad I've had, so creamy and peppery. And the ribs... you guys. Go on Thursday and get the daily special. They were crazy. Vibes were so good, the lady helping us was so nice. We have been weekly Mollys goers but I think this will be a frequent addition into our rotation. Everything looks very tasty, and I saw that Garlic Shrimp was the Friday special I did hear though that once they sell out they are out for the day. This is a place where we can get a taste of Hawaii! Bringing some delicious recipes and food foods here to the restaurant. Service is amazing. The people are absolutely positive and fun and great environment is welcoming and very family friendly. One thing to know is that the menu changes every single day for specials that they have. It's worth it to come on any day. I have yet to try the pokey, but based on everything else I've eaten so far it's amazing. I think it really depends on what you get here as to your experience with the food. Everyone in our party (of ten) that got the special was disappointed, whereas everyone who got the Katsu chicken, or the beef was raving about it. It's a really small place but it wasn't crowded on a Friday early afternoon. The staff were all super friendly. There was too much teriyaki sauce on everything, it was overwhelming. I guess they put even extra on when they serve you... I could have done without. The noodles were saturated and the rice as well, so much that I barely touched them. The teriyaki chicken was ok but didn't taste very barbecued. The chicken katsu was average, but definitely didn't need that much sauce. I normally fight over my Mac salad but this one I couldn't even eat. It was about 50 percent mayo- yuck. Sweets is my new Hawaiian BBQ spot! If you haven't tried them out, you should. If you need a little incentive, you can try looking them up on Hooked Deals. They'll put a nice lunch special deal on there sometimes where for $5 you can get a mini plate of rice or noodles with katsu or teriyaki and mac salad or pineapples with a drink! I remember the first time I got it it looked small but it's really filling. My favorite so far is the katsu with extra sauce. My wife likes the teriyaki chicken. As soon as you step inside Sweets, it is almost as if you are transported to Hawaii. The music, the decor, and the vibe is so calming and there is part of me that wants to set up a tent there and live there part time! The first time we went, we built our own 3 meat and 2 meat plates. We tried the garlic chicken (which was the special of the day) and the teriyaki chicken in one order and the kalbi ribs, kalua pork, and the katsu chicken in the other order, all with rice, noodles, and Mac salad. While all of the meats were tasty, we recommend the kalbi ribs, which were a little hard to eat but insanely good, and the kalua pork, which had the perfect flavor and was sooo tender. the Mac salad was the best we've had! It has a garlicky flavor that we couldn't get enough of! We have been back multiple times, but we had to be sure to go on a Saturday so we could try their poke- OH MY GOSH. This is some of the best poke in Utah without a doubt! So fresh, and you can choose between shoyu and their spicy Mayo. I'd recommend half and half. There is no skimping on the tuna, they pile it on which I appreciate! Don't skip their Otai drinks, we have tried multiple flavors and we are in love with them all. The food was ono, yummy, but what is even better than the quality of the food, is the quality of the people who run this restaurant. I called them one day last week just shortly before closing (I didn't realize they close at 4) and explained that I was wanting to drop off food for family who had a baby in the hospital and some hawaiian fare would be comfort food to them. Well anyway, the food: I liked the flavors of the garlic and teriyaki chicken also the kalbi ribs were probably the biggest I've had those things were massive (for short ribs) They have a otai niu (coconut otai (otai is a Tongan fruit drink usually made with mango or watermelon but here they offer mango, coconut or a mix of mango and watermelon I think) it's hella good The otai niu remind me of sweet vai topai (sweet dumplings with coconut milk/sauce) it's so good I wish they had a larger size cuz it was hot yesterday and that thing saved me So I'm throwing 2 stars cuz idk if they charge extra for a scoop of Mac salad or if you just get rice but those things didn't have the creamy Mac salad I could've used to cut down on that rice consumption I mean it was coo having a lot of rice but ya boy need the cool smooth mayonnaisy (it's a word now) component from the Mac salad to make that bit complete 1 Star (my cousins name is Star) for the price to portion/size ratio whatever.
