Two Meat Mix w/ Island Fire Chicken (left) and Hawaiian BBQ Beef (right)
    Joshua O.

The service here was great. Having never been here before, the cashier was really helpful in offering suggestions. That being said, my partner and I got an order of the spam musubi, a "Mini Meal" with the Kalua Pig, the "Two-Meat Mix" with the Island Fire Chicken and Hawaiian BBQ Beef, and the Guava Cake. The Kalua Pork was actually really good! It had good flavor without being as overwhelming as other hawaiian places. The guava cake was also really nice. It was light and not too sweet! The Island Fire Chicken and Hawaiian BBQ Beef both had amazing flavor, but they had the texture of undercooked meat which ruined the experience for me. The Spam Musubi was ok but the seaweed wrap was too strong compared to the flavor of the spam which made it taste weird. The only other complaint I have is that they didn't have music playing. It was very quiet and I could clearly hear the conversations that the people around me were having. All that being said, I would be willing to come back if these things were addressed.

This wasn't the worst experience we've had, but it's far from the best. The portions are generous, but the flavors didn't stand out--it's the same fare you'd find at most other places that label themselves as Hawaiian. I wish there were something to set this spot apart. Maybe try cooking the chicken over coals or wood, making house-made sauces, or offering something unique like taro root dishes. It all feels a bit too familiar. Even the drinks are the standard canned options. If this is a Hawaiian restaurant, where are the island-inspired juices that evoke a taste of home? The food has so much potential, but right now, it's just disappointing. That said, the service was fine. They answered my questions and brought the food promptly. No complaints there. As for the atmosphere, I wish there had been some island music to enhance the experience. Whatever was playing sounded more like Spanish music--not what I'd expect in a Hawaiian setting. Some authentic tunes could really help set the mood. Will we come back? Probably not. There are other local Hawaiian spots we'll support first. Until they make some changes to stand out, it's hard to see ourselves returning.

    - Great atmosphere - Great service - A little pricey (a small meal is $10.25, regular size is $13-17) - Chicken musubi has very little chicken, the spam has a decent amount. -Sauce was good Overall, it's decent food but overpriced for what you get.

Great Hawaiian restaurant! Clean and the service was excellent! The food is so good! Great taste! Love how they had almost every Hawaiian sun drink! ;)

Best Hawaiian food on the planet. Food is always fresh and tasty. Portions are good size for the money.

This is the best Hawaiian style food in Utah. I love the garlic chicken and the teriyaki beef.

Just a regular run-of-the-mill teriyaki chicken, nothing special, kind of bland compared to what we get in California atOH NO BBQ

We were supposed to go to Mollys down the street but it was closed so I figured it was a good time to stop in since it's next door. All the tables were full so I took that as a good sign. Two of us got the daily special which was pork ribs that came with two sides and a drink. My coworker got his first and the very nice lady preparing our food just KEPT ON adding meat to the plate. Like so many ribs. I got rice and Mac salad with mine and I kinda wished I had gotten the noodles instead of the rice, they looked really good on my coworkers plate. It was pricey BUT I definitely only ate half my plate so it's basically two meals. Best Mac salad I've had, so creamy and peppery. And the ribs... you guys. Go on Thursday and get the daily special. They were crazy. Vibes were so good, the lady helping us was so nice. We have been weekly Mollys goers but I think this will be a frequent addition into our rotation. Everything looks very tasty, and I saw that Garlic Shrimp was the Friday special I did hear though that once they sell out they are out for the day. Obviously not an issue when we went a half hour after they opened - but the crowd was building the closer to noon we got.

The lady who I assume is the owner was extremely kind and gave us recommendations and samples and the food was fresh and delicious. I got the barbecue teriyaki chicken big plate which is the most popular along with the rainbow Hawaiian drink which is a mix of mango, coconut, and watermelon. The vibe of the restaurant was also very Hawaiian and nice. I would definitely go back and recommend this place.

I wasn't a fan of the teri sauce and the beef and katsu chicken were served cold. The mac and cheese had a chunky texture that i wasn't a fan of. Service was good for one employee working, but he wasn't the friendliest to us... a guy who came in after us must have been a friend because he wasn't very attentive to him asking if he needs anything else frequently. It was clean inside and the world cup was playing which was nice. I usually prefer the local spots, but wouldn't recommend this one. If you're craving good Hawaiian Mo Bettahs is the way to go.

The service started slow because it was just the owner working but we waited. He was super nice but sweating, working alone and trying to do everything all at once. After I ordered, and waited 15 min to pay while the food was finally cooking, the help showed up. Recommend the Keiki bowl for adults and kids, ANY of the Hawaiian sodas and pretty much all the meats we had. I DO NOT recommend the crazy sweet Hawaiian Lemonade - especially for $4 - go with the can for $2.50. Also, they were out of their only dessert (malasadas).... bummed my 7 yr. old. As I was leaving, karaoke came out, the doors were propped open and whole mood of the place changed. Family still has a sour note but I'd go again.

Dining area here is pretty small, but the main dishes are pretty solid in comparison to the other places. They have recently added musubi to the menu, finally, which is great, except it comes in various forms of plastic and is cold, which is a lot less great and sometimes mushes it. This particular place has it in a baggie, which is fine and all well and good, but I generally wind up taking it out of the plastic and putting it on top of whatever I ordered, trying in vain to warm it up at least slightly. Again, this is to varying effect, but I'm glad they have the musubi at all. No furikake on it, but it does seem to have perhaps some sort of blackened seeds on it, sesame I'm assuming. Anyway, these are getting more or less down to ol' reliable and I have no qualms at all with that, as they never fail to wind up hitting the spot.

I got teriyaki chicken and shrimp tempura, and the person I went with got kalua pork and katsu chicken. The teriyaki chicken was really good, and I really liked that spicy Korean sauce they have. Everything else wasn't great. The shrimp tempura was plain and basic. The kalua pork seemed to have no flavor, and the katsu chicken could use more flavor as well. I got it with vegetables, and it had that kind of rubbery texture. I would return if it was a social kind of thing, but I wouldn't return on my own.

And what comes in my meal? Not what I asked for, just teriyaki. Seems like a waste of time to ask me what sauce I'd like if you won't give me what I asked for. Today we decided to try going into this location. I have always only done the drive thru. Figured let's go in and sit down and eat like all the other places with the kids. But heads up, they only have outside dining. Which makes it a pain like today with the large amount of ash coming down from the local fires. Now when we ordered the food, my wife asked if they had POG juice, they said they did. She got a large and asked if they did refills to which the girl said yes. I went and ordered my food, asked for spicy mayo, then went to ask for a drink as well and she had skipped ahead to the payment portion before letting me finish. She went back after I told her I wasn't done with my order and would like a drink as well. Well we got the food. No spicy mayo, just teriyaki sauce again. We drank our drinks and my wife went in to get a refill of our POG drinks, to be told that the refills cost unless we did soda. A bit misleading if anything. With all this said, I'm giving this place a 2/5. I'd like to give it a 1/5 but the food is decent most of the time. But the lack of professional, customer service, and ability to follow through with getting orders rights over several visits, I've come to the conclusion with my wife that we will no longer go to this location. Which is a shame. Never thought I'd come to that conclusion with name we have come to enjoy.
