Lunch combo
David W.

The lunch combos are where it's at. So affordable and different options each day so you can vary up what you get. Options include Massaman curry, orange chicken, garlic chicken, and more--plus you get a side (pad Thai or rice) with it. My wife and I have loved pretty much everything we've gotten here. I'm surprised with some of the comments about the service. The people we've had serve us have been nice and the food has come out quickly without there ever being an issues. While the atmosphere may not be the fanciest, I personally have zero complaints about the food and service.

Had higher hopes. Service left a lot to be desired. The server never provided serving plates, never refilled our water, we had to go find a box on our own to take home leftovers, and they had weird counter service to pay... and they wanted an 18% tip? Food itself was okay. I liked that the Pad Thai wasn't overly sweet. I didn't like that the dish didn't have many vegetables compared to other Thai Restaurants. The Fresh Rolls were overpriced ($8) for what they were - couple of lettuce leaves and some sliced carrots. The bamboo ceiling was cool but ambiance only goes so far.

Massaman Curry

Not my favorite spot for Thai. Definitely on the more expensive side of Thai restaurants. The service was pretty sub par, nobody checked on us and we had to ask for the check after we had been done for a while. Flavor of the food wasn't bad but also wasn't that impressive. Massaman and Pad Thai were the things worth getting. One perk was that they weren't very busy so we were able to get right in and be seated.

Great service! Great tasting food! Authentic! Great atmosphere! Clean establishment ! Variety of choices. Good location.

Pad Thai

Get the pad Thai!!!! Some of the best pad Thai I've had. I'm usually more of a curry guy but this pad Thai was definitely better than the Massaman. We went at peak hour on Valentine's Day so service was a bit slow but that's to be expected. The vibe of the place is awesome. Loved the bamboo ceiling.

If you're looking for more authentic Thai food - this is one of the places that comes closer than those around. They offer a variety of noodles, curries, salads, and soups, as well as desserts and appetizers. They even have some dishes that are hard to find in Thai restaurants around here, like Kao Soi Kai (egg noodles with chicken in a curry sauce) and Rad Nah. The flavors of the food are all really good as well. The service is friendly and helpful and the place is clean and nicely decorated. I definitely want to come back for the lunch special some time because that seems like an awesome deal and you get to try 3 entrees! Go visit this place and let's keep it around!

Ideally this place deserves 4.5 stars. I am from LA and have had a lot of good thai food. This food was great though still and could compete with many of the places I go to. The service was great and they kept checking if the food was good. It was a cute restaurant with great decor and I will definitely come back at BYU.

This place is worthy of 4.5-4.75 stars but I didn't want to round up to 5 stars. There's only one Thai restaurant that is worthy of five stars... Chow Phya Thai in Kaneohe, Hawaii. All others will rank lower (it's a foregone conclusion). This place was pretty darn close. The cashew nut chicken was a 6-star dish. It's probably the best cashew nut chicken I've ever had. The only dish I didn't care for was the peanut sauce. It was a tad bit too tangy and citrusy. The restaurant was very busy, but they were quick and served as fast. The decor was OK.

Moyamo - Sweet Beef Bulgogi Roll

Come to Provo - try Moyamo…read more My husband and I stumbled on this place by total chance and it happened to be during their grand opening! As soon as we walked in we were greeted warmly. The gentleman taking our order was very patient and helpful (because we had a lot of questions). It was HARD to pick what we wanted because everything looked SO GOOD. We finally decided to try several of the hot dogs because they were the most unique and we were NOT disappointed!! The food came out quickly and was very fresh!! I'd definitely recommend Moyamo and can't wait to go back to try more things!!

LOVE THIS PLACE…read more Food: amazing. Flavors are fantastic. I'm an Asian cuisine lover but this isn't too adventurous for someone who isn't or is new to the Asian side! The sweet bulgogi hotdog was my FAVORITE. It was juicy, savory, and all around satisfying. We also tried the classic toasted sandwich with bacon because why not! Again, amazing! The eggs are perfectly cooked, bread is nice and crispy, flavors are a perfect combo of sweet and savory. 10/10. Service: perfect. Everyone is so kind and very attentive to their customers. Ambiance: great. It's located in a perfect spot in Provo, surrounded by other fun eating spots. There's about 5 tables inside that can seat 5-6 people plus a counter with bar stools towards the back. It's very cozy and clean! One of the best parts is the price - the most expensive thing on the menu is only $7! It's the perfect place for a college town or for anyone wanting to get great food without feeling guilty about spending money! Highly recommend!

Come hungry, come for the meat, skip the spring rolls I am…read morenot a big meat eater by nature, which makes it saying something that Umami Japanese Barbeque has earned a regular spot on my list. There is something about cooking your own food at the table, at exactly the temperature you want, in exactly the amount you want, that turns a meal into an experience worth repeating. The concept is all you can eat Korean style tabletop grilling with two menu options. The Umami Buffet Experience covers a generous selection of quality meats, and the Full Premium Experience adds New York strip steak, Japanese short ribs, lamb, tri tip, shrimp, calamari, and cow tongue. We ordered one of each to compare. Honest verdict: the regular buffet holds its own and the premium upgrade did not justify the price difference enough to order it again next time. The table sauces are worth exploring. The roasted sesame is my personal favorite, but the miso apple and garlic shoyu are both worth trying alongside your meat. A selection of vegetables comes with the grill as well. One welcome improvement since my last visit: the ventilation setup has been redesigned so the smoke no longer follows you home in your clothes for the rest of the evening. A small thing that makes a real difference. The time limit is around three hours, which is more than enough. Forty minutes at the grill was plenty for us. Now for the honest part. The cold buffet side needs work. The spring rolls were a miss, the Hawaiian mac salad was forgettable, and the only sushi option was a California roll that did not taste fresh. For a restaurant that executes the grilling experience this well, the appetizer and salad bar deserve more attention. Four stars for the meat, the experience, and the improved ventilation. Come hungry, focus on the grill, and set your expectations accordingly for everything else on the buffet.

My friends were visiting from the Bay Area, so we decided to try Communal for brunch today…read more The ambiance was intimate and rustic with a touch of sophistication. We ordered breakfast burrito, mochi pancake, egg Benedict and a green salad with grilled chicken. I had the salad, and it was absolutely delicious! The grilled chicken was moist, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The fresh locally grown vegetables and pear made the salad even more enjoyable. I genuinely loved every bite! Coming from the Bay area, exploring the food scene in UT hasn't always lived up to my expectations. But I can honestly say Communal delivered the quality and flavors I have been missing! I highly recommend this restaurant. It is definitely worth a visit.

5 stars for Angelo…read more My boyfriend and I are road-tripping from LA and stopped in Provo looking for something other than fast food. We found Communal and the reviews were great, but honestly, **the customer service was even better!** We had our two dogs with us, so I called in a takeout order and Angelo was SO kind and helpful. I always feel like a phone call is the first impression of a place, and he immediately gave us such a good vibe. When we came in, they were clearly slammed with only Angelo and another sweet girl working, but you never would've known it from his service. I'd honestly come back for the service alone! Also, my boyfriend LOVED the French dip steak sandwich, and the sourdough is a must in my opinion :)
