A Friday night at 7:15pm..hot seated, 7:30pm ordered drinks and food, 8:20pm we got our food.. REALLY REALLY SLOW SERVICE.. Don't order the Mango Coconut drink... The food is pretty good, the mango sticky rice is the best.. I would not come here again to eat here, service is REALLY SLOW... Got there at 7:30, literally walked out at 8:05. Server was young and new, but food came out literally in no more than 10 minutes. Egg rolls and fresh rolls were FRESH and the sauces were amazing. We also go the Pad Thai (Medium level) and Sweet and Sour Chicken and portions were excellent. We were able to bring home an entire meal for my husband's lunch tomorrow! So many floaties in my water. Like, so many. Looked like the floaties were having swimming lessons in there. I politely asked the blonde waiter to maybe get less floaties in there (blonde waiter for reference gives shy Ken vibes) and he came back with the same cup and said "it's just tap water". Vibes fr. Can't blame a Ken for trying. He just didn't try that hard. Anyway I'm nervous to eat this spicy food with floaty water. Feels like I'm between a rock and a hard place here. Wondering if shy Ken is just having a rough day. Maybe he's normally exciting Ken but I caught him on a tough one. It would be hard to tell. Fool me once, ya know what I mean Anyway this food is really good though. I know they just heat up frozen egg rolls in the back but I do love them. I found myself right next to this restaurant in Provo. I was starving and they were busy so I ordered take out. I love Pad Thai and forever on the search for the best. Their version was good I just wanted a little more spice or sauce on the noodles. My go-to place for years!! Weather's gloomy, go to Spicy Thai for some massman curry. Their lunch specials are spot on. Love their tom kha and fresh roll. My go-to noodle dish is their Pad Woonsen, tastes like home to me. Since I'm a regular I always order the same dishes, but maybe I'll try the others over time. Pad Thai is delicious too, but I just prefer the Pad Woonsen. If you're a first timer to Thai restaurants I recommend the massman curry and pad Thai. Classic dishes. The food quality has varied since Covid, but my most recent visit it has gone back up. Still recommend. Service has varied as well since Covid but my last visit, it too has improved. Miss the old crew who would remember me and my gals as the "extra rice" girls. They use to play Thai music videos way back in the day, but since they've grown (they're open on Mondays now) it's more traditional restaurant vibes. Do love the giant elephant. read more

How did it take me this long to find Spicy Thai? I went with a good friend, who spent two years living in Thailand, doing missionary service. We've eaten a lot of Thai food together, but I learned that this was his favorite, and it was easy to figure out why. It's a great little place tucked away in North Provo. Spicy Thai is one of the restaurants I love visiting when I'm in the area. Their Tom Kha Gai (coconut soup) blew me away the first time I had it. If you're looking for decent Thai food in the area give Spicy Thai a go. So far I've always enjoyed the curries or appetizers that I've tried here. One note, visiting them again this year I felt that their soup had changed. It was still good but wasn't as mouth watering as it usually is. I know they used to get a pre-made base and then added their own spin to it and I wonder if the base has changed or if it was just an off day. I went a few weeks ago for my best friend's farewell lunch at work. I had only been to the one bear work in Lehi a couple of times before they shut that location down. The location in Provo is a sit down restaurant (with takeout options), and we got there during rush hour lunch, so the service was a little slower (lots of customers). I loved the lunch specials because I wanted a little of everything. I got the Pineapple curry lunch special with an egg roll. Our other coworker also got Chicken Satay and Egg rolls for us to share. For something sweet to finish, I got myself a Thai Iced Tea to go (yummmm my favorite)! Our server was patient and helpful (although a little swamped). Overall the atmosphere was pleasant. I don't know if I'd drive all the way out to Provo again just for Spicy Thai, unless it was a special occasion, but I definitely enjoyed having their food again. And if the opportunity presents itself, I'd be down to go again! read more

I feel torn on what to review Spicy Thai.. I had been years ago and remembered it being good. I came with some friends on a Friday evening. The restaurant was packed! We waited about 10 minutes before a table was ready - no big deal. Our waiter took awhile to come and ask us what we wanted to drink. We browsed the menu and knew quickly what we all wanted to order. It took around 15 minutes for our waiter to come back after giving us our drinks and order our food. My husband and I ordered the egg rolls, pad Thai, and massman curry. The appetizer took around 20 minutes to come out, followed by the food about 20 more minutes. I know that it was a Friday night but the restaurant isn't that big. I don't know why it took so long to get our drinks and food. Our waiter brought the food and brought us the wrong curry. We had to ask for our massman curry. It was shortly brought out with no apology. The eggs rolls were tasty. They were very hot and full of filling. The chili sauce was the perfect amount of sweet and heat. The pad Thai was very good. It was a very generous portion and full of chicken - which was a great surprise. The peanuts added a good texture. I was very impressed with this. The massman curry was only okay. It wasn't that flavorful and tasted like it was lacking or missing something. I did appreciate how much chicken was in it but would've liked to see more carrots and potatoes. The rice was cooked well. The food was nice and hot when it came out. It was very fresh. The reason for the three stars in the service. As mentioned above, it took awhile for all the food to come out. Our drinks were never refilled. After we got our food, our waiter never checked on us. We finished eating and had to ask a different waiter for boxes and our checks. The service needs to improve. I will be back for the food though. read more

There's a sign on the door asking to be patient due to understaffing, so I gave service the benefit of the doubt. However, one of the host/servers was so rude with putting our plates and silverware on the table, then didn't clear our dirty plates when the main food came, that it was hard to overlook. The other waiter was great, just very busy. For the food-definite 5 star rating. We each had a cup of each kind of soup and it was delicious...I wish I'd ordered the bowl! This place is a lovely little Thai place is a great location. We came on a Friday night and had to wait for about 10 minutes for a table, which went by really quickly. My friends and I all ordered the yellow curry with hot spicy level. There was a large portion of rice for the table, service was so fast and the flavor was incredible. Although the server was very nice and friendly, it took us a while to get started with water when we first got here on a Friday night. Once we got the food, the green curry my friend ordered had an unnatural pastel green colour to it. Although I didn't try it, she said it wasn't her favourite. I ordered the Pad See Iew with beef for myself. The beef was quite tender other than a few pieces that made it hard to chew. It is definitely not the best Pad See Iew I've had, as there seemed to be an overpowering soy sauce taste. The dish was also quite small for $11, and I finished it with no problem at all. read more

Spicy Thai has the BEST Pad Thai I've ever had! All the other restaurants I've tried which is from Colorado to Nevada doesn't do as well with the sauce proportions or flavor as Spicy Thai does. Their Roasted Coconut water is to die for I've also tried all their curries on the menu and haven't ever been disappointed. Got our food to go to eat by the river. They were not serving sit down service anyway. The pad see ew noodles were not as wide as I am use to. The veggie spring rolls were mostly cabbage. We do not eat meat so we asked for more veggies. I was hoping for lots of veggies but it just didn't seem like there were a lot. They give you a lot a white rice for meals that called for it. We also ordered the pad kee mao, yellow curry, and pineapple fried rice. Over all the flavor was pretty good. My father ordered the sweet and sour chicken and he thought the meat overly processed. A group of 6 of us came here for dinner tonight (Saturday night around 7 pm). My brother showed up to the restaurant first and they told him it was going to be an hour and a half wait. My brother put his name on the list and left to come to my sisters house just down the road while we waited in the house. My cousins showed up literally 5 minutes later and were seated immediately for a table for 6 people. We got to the restaurant 15 minutes after my cousins had been seated and they still didn't have any water or anything on the table. We waited 30 minutes longer with no one coming by to get our drink order or food order. My brother finally went up to a waitress and asked her if we could order drinks and that we had been there for 45 minutes at this point. The waitress was very short with us and definitely seemed as though she was not happy to be there. We ordered our food and drinks at the same time. It took about another 30-40 minutes for the food to come out. My sister spilled her coke and my brother went to ask the waitress for a rag to clean up the spill. She went and grabbed a dish rag from the back and dropped it off on the table and left... None of us got refills on our soda or water. We waited 30 minutes after finishing eating and eventually just went to the hostess counter to pay because the waitress never brought us our check. Other people at tables with the other waiters seemed to have fast attentive service. A couple that was seated 45 minutes after us got their food before we did. The food was amazing however the waitress was definitely lacking in customer service. The only way I would ever come back here is if I was ordering takeout. Overall we were in the restaurant for 2 hours. I would recommend NOT coming here and wasting your time..it's worth it to find a different Thai restaurant to eat at. read more

This is a great spot for date night. My fiancé and I split the Pad Thai and Massaman curry for about $20 which was plenty of food for the two of us! The service was very quick and amiable. The only qualm we had with the food was the potato in the curry was a little undercooked. The ambiance lacks any distinguishing factor and feels like any local Asian food restaurant, a little dingy but well run.
