Beside this is our favorite Thai restaurant near our home, we also love the take out service. If we need quick take out, we love the Thai Drift Sampler and the Galanga Coconut Soup with chicken. Your gluten free Pad Thai used to be amazing! Then something happened around the same time you switched from rectangular containers to round containers (to go containers). Ordered some spring rolls from them last night. In the middle of the spring roll wrapped in the veggies... was a very long piece of hair. Completely ruined the meal. Clearly, that's a problem and not sanitary. People need to wear their hair nets and do what they can as much as possible to prevent this from happening. It's disgusting and disappointing. Very reasonable, especially compared to other Thai places in the area. I ordered their lunch special for only $5.99! Sweet deal if you ask me. Their service was also very prompt and helpful. I was very impressed. Also the dumplings were BOMB. Wish I would have just gotten a large order of those instead! The food itself was forgettable. This is one of my favorite Thai food places. Their curry has perfect spice and their rice of sticky but not too sticky. We walked right in at noon which I was not expecting. Their lunch specials are $5.99. And the amount of food you get is perfect! I feel satisfied but not miserable because of eating too much. We ordered (7 of us in the group) and within 10-12 minutes the food was out. Very quick service. Their water tastes great which is a big deal for me cause I drink tons of water at restaurants. I've never had the dumplings and so I tried them as part of my pumpkin chicken curry. Amazing. Perfectly crisp but soft. The dipping sauce was more sweet than spice but still enjoyable. We've been coming to Thai drift for years now and have loved it. Today the papaya salad & pad kee mao was so chewy we couldn't even eat it, at one point the beef was so hard to chew I choked on it. We told our waitress we couldn't eat the food which was unfortunate as this is our normal go to order. The waitress seemed annoyed she had to deal with it and left to go to the back. When she returned she said she would take the pad kee mao off the bill but the papaya salad would need to be paid for. They didn't seem sorry or that they cared at all. My husband and I were excited to see this Thai place open up so close to us, as we are both fans of Thai cuisine. We have not tried the one in Orem, but we like this one! It is a very "to-go" restaurant, which is perfect for us. Your food is served in to-go containers, which is a plus, since the portions we got were very large and enough for three meals for me. My husband and I both got the swift curry. The large size is $7.99. I chose the chicken, bell peppers, broccoli, and red curry. The guy working gave me sample cups with the red and yellow curries so I could taste each one before getting it. The masaman curry had run out at the time. My husband got beef, baby corn, and bell peppers in red curry, and he very much enjoyed it. I thought it was a good meal. The chicken was not over cooked and the vegetables were fresh and crunchy. I wish there had been more vegetables, as it seemed like we didn't get many. It came with a fairly sizable side of rice, which I quickly combined with the curry. The curry itself was good. It was slightly spicy, but very sweet. I wish it had been more savory than sweet. The curry and meat is kept piping hot in a big metal drum in a hot water bath. The vegetables were kept in a cooler behind the counter. Overall, it's pretty good for the price. I got three meals out of the one order, which is awesome. I'm sure we will return. read more

I love Thai food, and this place definitely does not disappoint me! I love starting with the made-fresh vegetarian spring rolls. They are so delicious and so healthy. Unlike most other restaurants' "spring rolls," these are freshly handmade and not deep-fried. The sweet and sour chili sauce for dipping adds the perfect zing to this delicious appetizer. My favorite entree, which I could never get enough of, is the pumpkin curry. It is simply amazing. I have no words that could possibly live up to how delicious this curry is. You are probably thinking that pumpkin curry sounds unusual, but please take my word for it -- it is simply amazing. I get it just vegetarian, but you can order it with any meat. Just trust me and order it. You won't be disappointed. My only complaint is that the servers here aren't the friendliest, but the incredible food makes up for it! read more

I had dinner with my boss while visiting Utah. This was a family run business, the son looked like worked a building next to our office and he had come to help his parents after work to help out. We got seated and reviewed our meal and ended up ordering our meal. We started off with spring rolls, Galanga Coconut Soup (Tom Ka Gai) (this is not a personal portion), Pad Kee Moaw and some curry dish. The Spring roll was okay, the sauce was very sweet, not the same as the sweet chili dipping sauce, but i think the sweet over powered everything. The soup wasn't a personal size, so we shared, the soup was good. I was hoping they had drunk noodles, but had to settle for Pad Kee Moaw with chicken, which was okay... Overall the meal was good, but having visited other places, I knew I had better Thai foods. The decor inside is very modern and puts out that upscale look... I think prices on some of the dishes are higher then what it should be. I know I have tried other Thai restaurants around Orem, that I feel is better in value and taste then Thai Drift. As for the service, personally it was little slow for me... they didn't have lot of customers, but they didn't check on us often... read more

Because I am a dummy, I will drive and go to eat at a place just because I like the name...like this place, for instance. Been on my radar for a while, but the timing never worked out for quite a while. Unfortunately, as charming and pretty as I like to think I am, occasionally I am brought back to Earth and reminded that much of that may not exist beyond my head, such as this visit, when I was forgotten. Admittedly, this is rare, but when it happens, I'm instantly reminded of how annoying it is, even when I'm not in a hurry, also rare, but also happened on this visit. This is a cook-to-order place but as even scant research will indicate, I eat out a lot and am pretty well-versed in what is reasonable. That particular ship definitely sailed here. Service was a big question mark for me here and I think this place needs some adjustments. The Thai iced tea was one of the better ones I've had, mixed exactly right to the way I like it, but the glass was chock full of ice, like right up to the top and it was one of those sort of narrow ones, the ones that kind of remind me of what the old time ice cream shops used to use. Yeah, fill it with ice and you have maybe ¼ - 1/3 of the actual thing with tea. Not a good deal, though the tea was excellent. I also had some spring rolls, which were also apparently made to order. These came out a bit hastily and sloppily made and without meat. I'm a fat dude and if I saw me coming, I'd instantly think I wanted some meat. Because I probably would. And do. Most of the time. Anyway, it's something that should be asked or maybe they just mixed up my order with someone else's in the kitchen. This was the first miscue, but maybe I should have been signaled when the dude just dumped the plate and bailed so I could wait before ordering the actual entrée. I would have preferred a peanut sauce rather than the sweet one I got, but flavor wasn't bad. Execution was definitely iffy, though. And it needed meat. Menu was a bit light, so I went with Pad See Ew, which is generally a reliable benchmark. It is worth noting that there is no ingredient description in the menu. This is the dish for which it took half past forever and once I got it, the noodles on top were a bit dried. I did think the ground pepper was an interesting touch and the flavor wasn't bad, but I like more sauce generally. For the food alone, I'd be leaning 3.5 to 4, but there were far too many errors on this visit for me to consider this place anywhere near reliable or something I'm going to be in much of a hurry to try again. read more
