Do you love Sushi but your partner doesn't? Well, Jazmine is your answer! They serve Chinese and Sushi. We came here by request for my son's 23rd birthday. 9 Sushi rolls, Beef Chow Mein, General's Chicken, and 2 Egg Rolls later and we left full and happy. All rolls tasted fresh and the Chinese food was really savory. We came in on a Wednesday evening so it wasn't really busy but it also wasn't empty. The timing of our food coming out felt very appreciate...Chinese food came out within 15 mins and the Sushi rolls shortly after. As an added bonus our Server/Waitress was very friendly and charming. read more

Craving Chinese and seeing Jazmine delivering seemed like the perfect storm. I've loved Jazmine in the past, but it was prior to some changes in the ownership and kitchen team, but I wasn't concerned because the food had been so consistent I didn't think anything could go wrong. Well, it just wasn't the same. In general it felt like the regard for the food was what had changed most. The flavors were similar but felt muted, the textures were off, like what should've been crispy was mushy (and yes I've accounted for travel in that comment), and I felt some of the quality had disappeared too. The green beans were delicious but felt over cooked. The salt and pepper shrimp were good, but not a little mushy, and the Singapore noodles were pretty bland. The Peking pork was the best of it all, but the sauce was edging on overly sweet, and lacked the depth we've enjoyed in the past. Im sad to downgrade my rating here. Hopefully the next visit will bring it back. read more

I like their lunch special. They prepare the food and serve it to you quickly so you can be in and out on your lunch hour.

Ordered take out from Jazmine today. I was excited to get my crispy pot stickers. Took them back to my office and opened up the box. They looked and smelled wonderful. When I took a bit, I had to spit it back out. They were completely raw inside. Called to complain and demand a refund. They refused to refund me unless I brought the raw food back! I'll not be going back - ever. read more

For 17 years this was our favorite restaurant. New management has ruined it. The food is bland. Too many corners are being cut. Things are deep fried that didn't used to be. So many ingredients have been cut to bare bones minimums. Sauces added that detract from taste. We won never go back. We're pretty disappointed. Sometimes change is bad. Cutting corners always is. read more

We used to come here a lot back in 2008-2014. We loved the setting, like the metal mesh curtain they have going and there's more tables towards the back where the sushi bar is. Our servers greeted us within a couple of minutes, and were really friendly. The bartender they had back then used to make a really awesome Cosmopolitan. We stopped going for a minute because the last time we were there the food we usually ordered somehow did not taste the same. Like they were prepared by different chef with his own twist to the dishes and therefore there were spices or additions that made the dishes taste off. Since we were in the neighborhood, we decided to go and eat there again. We happened to go there around 3 PM and they had the happy hour going where appetizers and select alcoholic drinks were half price. Sweet! Since I didn't see who the bartender was, I wasn't taking chances and ordered a hot saki instead. We decided to try the chicken lettuce wrap (again) and I also ordered the crab Rangoon (which I never ordered in the past). I also decided on the pan fried noodle (again) to see if the taste was different this time around and the hubby ordered his usual chicken hot pot. We were really very pleased that they tasted the way they used to taste back when we used to frequent the place. The chicken lettuce wrap no longer had the overpowering ginger/sesame taste and the Crab Rangoon came with a yellow sweet sauce that was not too sweet, just perfect to my taste. So unlike the melted sugar with red dye that you find in other places. As for my pan fried noodle, it was just right for me. It wasn't doused in too much sauce that it would get the noodlsoggy quickly. And again, just a pleasant hint of sesame and garlic, and who doesn't like bok choi? Hubby's chicken hot pot however, had more onions and scallions in it than chicken, and had quite a bit of oil to give it the hot pot effect. I would like to think that the original chef is back and that's why the food tasted like when we first started coming to this place. Overall, yes, I would definitely keep coming back again when I'm in the area and I hope they don't change the recipe regardless of who cooks the food. read more

We came here after Pisces was closed due to the dining room being too hot. We were unaware Jazmine does not do All You Can Eat (AYCE) anymore but were hungry so we stayed (thank goodness!). I don't remember our waiter's name but he was amazing and so kind. He recommended a couple combos we should get to mimic the AYCE experience. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and landed this restaurant in our top 5 Reno sushi places. This restaurant also has a Chinese menu available in half of the dining room. We sat in a large booth which was amazing for our 2 kids and everyone was incredibly understanding of the extra noise that sometimes comes with bringing your toddlers out to eat with you. The sushi came quick and my husband and I left with happy stomachs and left over sushi. 10/10 will be back. read more

Came here again and was saddened to pay $24 for a dish of ... rice. Labeled as "crab fried rice"- though they do use real crab, it has absolutely nothing except sparse strands of crab and some scallions. See photo: would you eat that alone? It tasted better with chili oil, but a child could make this dish and not charge $24 for it. Ridiculous. I do feel bad talking about the absurdity of the prices since the waitstaff here are always very friendly and attentive. Husband's chow fun was good though. read more

Food is bland and not cooked well. I ordered the Beef and Broccoli with Jazmine Ramen, substituted the meat for tofu. I took the order to-go and the tofu was soggy before I got to put it in the broth. Broth was bland. Noodles were thin. Bokchoy was soggy. Fried egg was good with runny yolk, but I used the egg yolk and some sriracha to flavor the broth. 2/10 The beef and broccoli were soggy. Beef was very chewy and soft. It tasted like they cooked the beef and then, hours later, poured the sauce on top. The flavor was bad and the sauce was pretty much doing all of the work for the beef. 2/10 Overall, the vegetables seemed like they were over-cooked to the point of sogginess, whereas the beef seemed like it wasn't cooked long enough. I've cooked tofu several times and have never had issues with sogginess, as the first step to cooking tofu is pressing it to rid of excess moisture. I feel like that initial step was skipped here. I wouldn't recommend eating here. read more

Ever had a meal where EVERY dish was perfect? Tonight one of my employers, Dr Leung, invited me to dinner with some of his friends. We had two large tables of ten in the back. Our service was fabulous. Drinks were always full and the food served piping hot. And the food.......perfection. All 8 platters. Now I imagine some of our dishes may not be on the regular menu. Dr knows what he likes and tends to preorder. His choices were on the mark. Be sure to check out the pictures. We started with the most tender Peking duck, lotus buns and plum sauce. This dinner is off to a great start. Chicken lettuce wraps - stir fried chicken, sausage, mushrooms and water chestnuts nestled in the freshest crisp iceberg lettuce leaves. I believe the fish soup was maw. On the chilly night it was, it hit the spot. Chinese fried chicken was next, more crispy skin and tender savory meat. What ? Lobster noodles !! Huge pieces of rich lobster laying on a queen size bed of delicious noodles. The sea bass was white and flaky. Surrounded by thin orange slices and drizzled with a beautiful light orange sauce. There were no left overs on this platter. XO New York, seriously, House XO sauce sweetly kissing cubed NY steak grilled to a perfect medium rare. Wow. Wait , we have another plate coming? I believe it was the Black Pepper Lamb. Lamb ? I don't think I have ever had lamb in a Chinese restaurant before. Again, how devine. The tender strips of lamb sautéed with onions and peppers was almost sinful. I admit, I kinda hoarded this dish. Because I did bring home the leftovers. I have had some great food in my life, but an entire 8 course meal where each dish held its own. Wow. Jasmine is on a corner of a strip mall. It's half Chinese food and half sushi bar. There's plenty of parking in the lot out front. I look forward to straying from my neighborhood again to discover more Jasmine has to offer. read more

Jazmine is a favorite of our family for Sushi. All week my kids were asking for egg rolls and so we ordered from the Chinese Menu at Jazmine for take out. The kids LOVED their first egg roll experience and the food quality was very good even as carry out. The ambience of Jazmine dining in is my preference though. The egg rolls are stuffed with vermicelli noodles and a good variety of vegetables and come with a thin sweet dipping sauce that is addicting. Jazmine Long Roll is a sushi roll with crystal shrimp, crab, avocado and a sweet sauce. Crab Rangoons were okay, they left a lot to be desired for flavor but they were still little fried purses of goodness and came with a sauce resembling a honey shrimp thick yellow sauce. Jazmine Fried rice is always a special treat, with pork-shrimp-beef-and eggs. Cashew chicken has large pieces of white chicken mixed in a thin sauce with snow peas-celery-mushrooms-cashews and a thing sauce that compliments the fish very well. Jazmine Chow Mein, perfectly cooked noodles with complimenting vegetables and pork-shrimp-and beef. read more

So I've been here several times and in those 5 times I've enjoyed the food immensely but the service each time got worse and worse. I then saw that they actually closed down for the month of July and re opened there doors Aug 18th. I called yesterday to ask if the online prices were the same as dine in. Whoever answered told me "we lowered all our prices actually so now everything is much much cheaper!"... when I came in today for dine in, the prices were very much the same ones and nothing had been changed or lowered. This made me think he only told me that to get me in the door and he probably has told others this as well but no I've been here several times before they closed down to "renovate" no renovations were made either it looks exactly the same. Anyways the prices are the same and not lower. Then the main reason I truly came back was because in them closing for a month and half they also said they were getting new team members and staff as well. Before today I never knew his name but today I finally learned it Jesse A. His service is one of the worst I've ever experienced. I've wrote reviews about him before, but never said his name, but I feel very strongly that he either needs to just be back of house or a host because his service is very bare minimum. It's not even bare minimum like what's below the bare minimum? That's what Jesse A's service provides. If I can come back and sit at the sushi bar that would also resolve my issue but they don't let people sit there for some reason. Jesse never refilled my water in fact he came over to tell me passive aggressively not to put my phone up to watch my show (since I dine alone, yes I do like to watch a show while I eat who cares especially when I'm alone) because he thought I was going to knock the soy sauce over when it wasn't at all. He then looked at my empty water that had no ice and didn't even attempt to ask if I wanted a refill. I asked him if I could instead of getting an appetizer if I could get another Nigri instead since it's the same price as an appetizer. He looked at me and said "No but we can do another roll instead so that way you get three ROLLS and 4 Nigri." Yes I heard him correctly he said ROLLS. Alright so I mark my decisions he takes a look and is like "no I didn't say that you can do that, I said you could have another Nigri and two rolls. It's ok just change it for me it's a miscommunication" this kinda made me want to walk out but I just wanted to see what would unfold here so I stayed. Another table was in front of me and Jesse also had that table, his service is so slow that the General Manager had to come over and take there order. Ok my order came out and completely disappointed I got one of the wrong rolls and only 4 Nigri not 5 like he said he would do In place of an appetizer. I even heard someone in the kitchen say " no that doesn't go on the dragon roll" so there definitely training a new chef back there too. Anyways I never got my Unagi or an appetizer. So I wanted to wait until I got the bill maybe they tweaked it for me since they forgot. Maybe I'd get some sort of dessert for that mistake as well as him never brining me extra ginger and a side of eel sauce like I requested. The only person who ever gave me great service was the man refilling waters he has a darker complexion and had black hair that was tied back. Now he should have been my server, he was polite, customer service oriented, and well trained. He even asked if I wanted ice for my water and I said yes please! (It's 96 out today idk why I never got ice to begin with thx to Jesse.). I then had to ask someone else for the bill since Jesse was just aimlessly staring around doing nothing. Jesse gives me the bill and after charging my card he didn't even say anything at all like "have a great night" "come back soon" nothing not a word. I had really hoped coming back he wouldn't be here but maybe this is the review the general manager needs to see in order for them to change his position or let him go entirely. I did see some new faces and they seem like they actually enjoy being a server so we will see but unless I get a reply from the manager saying that they will allow guests to sit at the sushi bar or that Jesse A is no longer working there, I won't be back. If you want to get great sushi and a lot at a Low price where they actually listen to you go ahead and try Tokyo Sushi that's where I'll be until then I won't be back to Jazmine. read more

Between 3 and 4 stars from me. Honestly I thought I had already yelped this restaurant and was coming back to adjust my rating. Jasmine has been one of my favorites for sushi for years. It just always been a little bit above the rest when it came to sushi in Reno. I brought my girl friend for our valentines date, and were surprised at some of the changes. The biggest thing for me was the menu seemed smaller. And AYCE is no longer offered. They do have a deal for an appetizer, 2 long rolls, and 4 orders of negeri for $26, and honestly this was plenty for us. I did add a hand roll and another negeri order.... But we didn't have too. We did take some sushi home with us which with all you can eat we wouldn't have been able too. At the same time though our service was lacking, which had never been my experience before. Between the service and things like the linen napkins being gone, I do wonder if they have possibly changed owners or management. read more

3.5-4 stars. 4 stars Wonton noodle soup. Broth was flavorful. Wontons were tasty and overall nice texture. Pork was good. Noodles were ok. Might try it without the noodles next time. Tiny shrimp. 3 stars Teriyaki chicken. Breast pieces were dry. Not a lot of flavor. Teriyaki sauce was ok, but tasted like other Restaurants Teriyaki sauces. Ordered the same bottle? Won't order again 3.5 star Beef Gravy Chow Fun. Gravy was bland. Beef was nice and tender. Noodles fell apart after every pull. This was so so. Won't order again. Overall was better than average. At least 2 better options in Reno for Chinese food. Maybe 3. Prices are decent. Might try a few different dishes next time. Wonton soup is worth coming back for. read more

we had an incredible experience here!! amazing food, service and atmosphere. definitely check this place out if you're in Reno

Disappointing and rather odd dinning experience. Jasmine is located at the corner of Double Diamond and Double R in south Reno. There is ample parking. Upon entering I was asked what food I was interested in, traditional Chinese or Sushi? As I wanted Sushi, I was walked to the other side of the restaurant, the have a larger bar/counter area but I was told it is closed and had to sit at a table. The host, waiter and would guess a possible manager or owner gave me the order form, there was no menu. I also was provided with a plate, clean napkin, chopsticks and a fork. He also brought a small tea pot with soy sauce. As there was no menu, I asked if they offered all you can eat, they DO NOT, they do have 3 multiple item options or you can order individually. The prices are slightly more expensive for what I normally see, the option I picked allowed four (4) Nigiri, two (2) rolls and an appetizer. So this is where it got weird, I had arranged my chopsticks, napkin and fork, a women came by after the male picked up my order and she began removing everything from the table like I was done, I asked what was happening, she didn't understand and the male and her went back and forth in another language. They both left, me sitting there with a clean table, just a glass of water I was holding, wondering WTF. She came back shortly with all new stuff, said nothing and left. There are several different sized tables in both the traditional area and sushi area. It wasn't very busy, which was slightly concerning seeing how it was prime lunch crowd time. I received the Miso soup, it looked very clear, like water with a lot of cut green onions. There was almost no flavor, except the onions, I tried just the broth, extremely weak, I chose not to try anymore and pushed it aside. When asked I explained my observations and was asked if I wanted to try another soup, no thank you. The sushi arrived, not bad but nothing above average, I normally don't have much for lunch so the option I selected worked but was slightly more than the "All you Can Eat" places I normally visit. I remember when this placed opened, it was very good, actually took several friends there but it has been several years and unfortunately it has changed. I don't see me returning, read more

I decided to try this place, as its been awhile. Ordered pepper steak and some egg rolls. This came with white or brown steamed rice, i decided on white rice. Fried rice is extra. The egg rolls were delicious, made fresh to order, definitely not frozen. The rice was ok, i mean its steamed relatively fresh i think, a little undercooked, not a big thing. The pepper steak was really good! Not too many veggies to meat ratio, and there was enough left over for another entire meal. Ok, the meal was overprice a bit, but its a nice place sooo. $6 for two egg rolls seems high, but they are good. Also strange, they only have small to go drinks. No large. Just small. Weird. I do recommend you enjoy lunch or dinner here, and only do to go if you dont have time to soak up the ambiance. The staff are nice and helpful as well. read more

Ian a camping type so when I saw one I kinda let it fly, but upon inspection... there were a ton of bugs I'm guessing they came from the vegetables because I didn't see any on our salmon or sushi. I called to report it and the lady told me," we can give you a credit but we can't refund your card because your order was too large." and "nobody else complained." I told her that I wanted her to promise me they would throw out the soup and that they would look hard because it's disgusting. I have been meaning to come to Jazmine's for years and I am glad that I finally have! The service was exceptional and helped make eating dinner and excellent experience. Our waiters and hostess were friendly and knowledgeable. The speed of service was also remarkable. I know sometimes going out to dinner can be challenging because you can expect long wait times for all of the meals to arrive. This was definitely not the case. All of our food arrived very quickly! It was great! At the end of the meal, our waiter came around with hot towels, infused with almond. These were for us to wash our hands and mouths. This was a wonderful touch. The food was also exceptional! The sushi was fresh and the cooked meals were savory. I ordered the black pepper chicken and was very impressed. The portions were large enough to share or were large enough to have another meals worth of left overs. The restaurant is large and can accommodate many parties at once. You have the option of sitting at the bar, in the restaurant, or at the sushi bar. There are larger table to accommodate bigger groups. These tables include a lazy Susan. Most of the dishes are served family style, so the lazy Susan is a big hit! If you are bringing a party of 8 or more I would call ahead to reserve a table. The price is a bit more expensive, not outrageous, than other restaurants, but well worth the cost. Quality! We had a party of four, ordered drinks, appetizers, sushi, and main dishes and it totaled around $130. I would recommend this place! Give it a try! It is delicious! read more

The food here is good but the service is terrible. I've been going here for years getting take out. Every time you order over $100 they take your credit card for payment. On my most recent order for takeout they forgot part of my order. When I called to tell them they questioned me multiple times. Then they told me I would have to drive back to get it. I said I wanted a refund. They told me they couldn't refund me and if I wanted my items I'd have to drive back tonight. They take credit cards all the time over the phone so it's not true they can't key in a credit card. The woman was not helpful and the manager Korina was also rude and unhelpful. It's unfortunate we had such a terrible experience here after years of loyalty. I have to contact my credit card company to get my money back since they refuse to help me. I won't be back. read more

Jazmine never ceases to impress. Everything from their service to their food is beyond exceptional. We recently dined here for lunch and we had such a pleasant experience. We decided to order two entrees and a sushi roll, just like our last visit. We decided to order their Jazmine Beef and Gravy Chow Fun. For our sushi roll, we decided on the Big Sean Roll. Shortly after putting in our order, our waitress came back to inform us that they ran out of the Jazmine Beef. She asked if we wanted anything else from the menu. The Peking Pork caught my eye as a close second, so I went ahead and ordered that instead. Our waitress then made her way into the kitchen. Not a minute later, both our waitress and chef made their way to our table. The chef apologized that they didn't have Jazmine Beef and offered to prepare us New York Steak with XO Sauce. We both replied with an in sync, "Yes please!" A grin seemed to light up as he made his way back to the chicken. Just as I mentioned on my previous review, you can taste and smell the quality they put in their dishes. Their Gravy Chow Fun is simply pure satisfaction. I love how there's various textures throughout. I love saucy dishes and trust me when I say, there was an abundance of gravy throughout. The New York Steak was cut in cubes and stir fried with green onions and carrot slices. The steak was tender and well seasoned. When biting in this dish, there was a slight crunch, almost as if biting into crisp pieces of garlic. All of the flavors embodied in this dish melded together producing a masterpiece. Lastly, the Big Sean Roll was refreshing as it was a nice contrast compared to our previous oily and saucy (still very tasty and delicious) dishes. The chef came out to check on us and was pleased to hear that we loved everything. When our waitress dropped off our bill, she mentioned that although the New York Steak with XO Sauce costed more than the Jazmine Beef, she charged us for the Jazmine Beef since they didn't have it! Honestly, for us, it was not a problem that they didn't have a dish we wanted on the menu. But the service displayed from both the chef and our waitress just shows how much they care for their customers. Can't wait for our next visit! read more

I have been going to Jazmine since it opened way back about 10 years ago (I think), and I have always loved the quality of their food and their customer service. Went tonight and as usual the food and customer service was delicious. I did find out that they no longer do "All You Can Eat" sushi service. Not sure why, but maybe covid had something to do with that. That is a disappointment, because we went there tonight hoping for a sushi feast. Sadly, it was not to be. But, we went with their Chinese dinner instead, and we were not disappointed (the Lettuce Wraps appetizer is really good). Food was delish. Friendly server as well. They food quality here is consistently exemplary, probably one of the best places in town for sushi OR Chinese food. I have been 6-7 times now, the last two were forgettable.. TV in dining area There is a TV on over the sushi bar area, not terribly uncommon but for the ambience of this establishment, TVs are out of place. Consider a special evening, a relaxing meal, and unsolved murder mysteries audible over conversations..?? (**needle off record**) what better way to ruin a dining experience than with the gruesome details of a coed's death by dismemberment, and insight into the deranged mind of a serial killer. Shock and ahh - did he just say that ? Young sushi rollers with little sense of their audience or customers. We are shown our seats at the sushi bar, a server promptly asks what we would like to drink, the lead roller confirms "all you can eat this evening?" The sushi roller in front of us announces to my date -"You are Filipino!?!" She replies after a moment,"I'm FilipinA, I'm a lady" Sushi roller dismissively acknowledges and states "yeah, Filipino", then directs his curiosity to me "And you are white" I told him "I identify as Irish" his co-workers smirk, and their body language tells me they are embarrassed by his words but they say nothing. Sushi Roller "Irish people are white, so you are white" Jazmine management, you have a wonderful restaurant being tarnished by inconsiderateness - lose the TV and pay attention to how employees speak to your customers.
